Could I quit and then get online and let it do it's thing later? It's been around an hour so far and it has another hour of downloading to go. -
Also bear in mind that Infinity is a wee bairn compared to the juggernaut Freedom and Virtue servers.
Lots of people like the small ones. Lots and lots of people like the large servers. -
Quote:I know. That's why I have the thing. This mission does not grant the badge or power, unless run through a flashback.
I suggest you set up the scenario I mention. And try it from the SG and see if it works for you. MLC [marketing group on Freedom] members Flamin' Trolla [Hyperstrike] and Greased Lightning [Stutz] were with me.
Note: Spelling of names might be off. -
Yeah, my mistake, that thing.
-
My personal strategy which I sometimes stick to:
Add the two slots after they are chosen for a total of three and generic IO them. When you get to level 42 or similarly high, reslot two better generic IOs and throw in a proc. Or, if you're swimming in slots, proccy proc-proc. Though really, only the health has 300m worth of procs you can slot. -
Flashbacks will give you the portal. My Fire/Rad has had hers since level 14 [or so] because she ran the Rescue the Fortuneteller in PP.
That much I know. What's in question is if I remember correctly about my panic about not being able to enter the Ouro portal or if the memory I'm starting to have now, maybe a false memory, of being in the base and using the Ororock there. Only problem is, I'm not sure the MLC base has a rock. -
Quote:Maybe I remember wrong. She's still only a 24 and does have the Oro portal. I don't think it was done off the SG base's as I wouldn't be clicking on the portal like mad before the caster finally went in.I find this difficult to believe as I've tried to do that. I was prevented because all teammates were not in the same zone.
Maybe I'm wrong. -
Quote:Oh, you're welcome.Thank you Postagulous
that helped a lot.
Well I don't think it's too bad to use some helping designers. It's not so big difference if someone uses that or do respec. Result is pretty much same. Personally I like to build my characters like old fashion ways without any helpin programs.
I have one shield/axe tanker because shield was new power when I made that and I just like axes. I don't care if some build is littlebit better than other if that fits on my character concept. Oh and never kicked out of team.
I tend to goof around with a toon for the first 20 levels, maybe picking the order of powers with mids, but not really using it for what it's meant for, optimization.
My 50, Ink Girl, I thought was good. Until I put her into Mids. Using IOs can change everything. She had 3% defense and next to no resistance. Now she's got 70% S/L resistance and 35% ENFC [energy, negative, fire, cold] defense. She's incredibly powerful.
Now, back when I had a broken toon named Betty Gunbot, I refused to do a respec because I felt it stole her soul. At that time I didn't know about the second build. When I did, I second builded her and she was much better, but in the long run, I hate both Assault Rifle and Devices. She was at 33ish when I deleted her. I've remade her as a DP/Electric, and due to the lack of guides [ooh, guides are more important than mids!] I'm flying blind except for the data in Mids.
If nothing else, download mids to see that, oh, Archery's tier 1 quick attack, Snap Shot does 52.6 damage unenhanced. AR's burst 67ish. DP's Pistole 62ish. Etc. And if you pay attention, which most don't, getting a property enhanced over 80% is pretty wasteful. But, why not be wasteful
You can play this game any way you like. But when my Lev 41 katana/wp is the last one standing, surrounded by 12 Council with flame throwers, chain guns, etc, and I take no damage and my endurance doesn't drop. And after I kill them all I wait for the rest of the team to get back from the Hospital. When that happens, I'm glad I spent around 200m on her to get in shape. Also, she's a freakin' katana/wp. They're born gods.
Quote:In my slim experience, people like to make DP/NRG blasters (especially the "hit men" and "mercenaries") because NRG is the closest you can get to a melee/martial arts secondary for blasters. So all those hit men and gangsters and cowboys and detectives who want a 'natural' build but don't want a targeting drone circling their head or to be planting land mines go with NRG so they can at least roleplay punching Hellions in the face when they're not shooting them. -
Oh, didn't know. All my Canada/US money exchange rate is from the fronts of magazines, and probably years old data at that. Who gets magazines anymore?
But, there are services out there, people here actually, who'll do it for 20%. Not sure if that's before the WW to change servers once on the Blue side, if required.
I don't wanna say names in case they don't wanna do that stuff at the time. -
Quote:Done it. It works.I don't think you can start flashbacks if everybody wasn't already in the same zone. That means you can't run it from Ouro. You'd have to gather everybody in an SG base (including the lowbie) and run it from the Ouro Pillar there.
They used a portal, went to Oro, and set the mish. If we were just in the SG, I would be with them, I assume even for the zap to the contact.
The only thing you can do with the portal while under 25 is to drop them for others who request them, or just for decoration on top of buildings, etc. -
I think we have fewer all black costumes with the chain wrap all over than others. On Liberty it was like a convention of them.
-
Quote:Once you get Divine Avalanche and become indestructible, you'll use that sword constantly. Each hit, unenhanced, gets you 15% defense to melee and lethal damage. When you hit 45%, you're untouchable.Kat/DA I've read a lot about. Can't justify a concept. Personally, if I could generate auras of darkness, I wouldn't even fool with a sword...know what I mean? :P
I have a level 41 katana/wp. Tied with my ill/storm controller for most fun ever.
There are guides here on how to find a team. I'd suggest them even if you're on Freedom or Virtue. Also, NEVER accept a blind invite. That just lets you know the leader doesn't know how to play the game.
If you decide to IO, build your fire, cold, energy, and negative defense. That's your only hole.
That said, there are tons more cool looking broadswords and it's the same powerset, just slower and more damaging per activation.
But DM/DA isn't bad, but you'll hurt for endurance, and with /wp, you get a second, better, Stamina in Quick Re...something. QR. -
Quote:Mids is the program we use to plan out or builds so we don't mess up, or so that we can make sure our Tank, etc, has slotting to help his S/L defense. What is that word "Mids"? I tried urban dictionary and online dictionary with no help.
It's also a topic the OP has commented on in nearly all of his posts. He thinks those who use it are dumb.
I didn't use it for the first 4 months I was here. Now I look at my old toons, including my only 50 and think, "Holy crap, how did I survive?"
I'd never learn IO stuff w/o mids. -
Red money is like Canadian money. It's not an even trade.
-
I respect your Ebilness.
cg.
Those who say you can make a billion in a week already have a billion, and hey, so do you. Muah ha ha ha. -
No.
And 60 days or more is nom nom nom. -
1. Crafted 50's and sold to farmers.
2. There is no 2. -
Uh, I do that sometimes. Not that massive, but I get frustrated. Usually it's when there are none for 15 levels except one. I creep the bid. It's like a frog in hot water, when I finally buy it I realized I'm a cooked frog.
I have bid around 10 million or so on salvage because I was pissed too. -
In fact, toons at lower than 25 can run Oro missions. I've had a 14 run one. Just stay out of the zone [obviously] and the leader gets the mish. Go to the mish door and meet them. It's just like a normal one for you, except when you finish the mish you'll be able to lay down an Oro portal that you can't use.
-
I want a "who the hell are these people" button.
Actually, I'll have to check if we can see/attach notes to the globals in the list. I've recently discovered the note feature and give 1s and 5s on a regular basis. Three means you try but suck
Ok, end threadjack. -
Quote:Took until the 13th post for a Freedom hater to show.Virtue: This Server is the second largest and considered the unofficial RP server. It also has one of the best communities of any server and the most active when it comes to raiding. ((I'm bias, I love this server because of its community.))
Freedom: For farming, grinding and PvPing. Not a very healthy community or beginner friendly server but if you enjoy farming, grinding and PvP this server is for you.
All the servers are good. See the double paren Tokyo wrote in, on Virtue that means they are speaking out of character.
There is virtually no difference between Freedom and Virtue besides the RP. And while the (( people aren't bad at all, some will not come out of character and their character is a tough guy, so they treat you badly. [for an example, look in the blue side bar in Pocket-D at night, but that is not typical of the friendly people in CoX].
But Virtue's good. Freedom's good. Smaller servers are good. You are, however, on the smallest of the small.
Welcome, and katana/wp ftw!
I'm @postagulous. On Freedom and/or Virtue pretty much every night. Though tomorrow, first Tuesday of the month, is Tanker Tuesday on Justice [near IP gate in KR]. It's the only organized event I take part in. Nothing like doing mishs/TFs with 8 tanks in a team. Wooo. -
I normally feel I know what I'm doing with a build, but not so much with the DP/Elec.
Can someone take a look at this and point out any obvious errors?
I know I'm all over the place as far as bonus. My goal was rech and regen, as they're cheap and easy to get. Accuracy, and then some sprinklings of defense.
Picking up PFF before TempInvuln because the phase shift from Warburg can only be gotten three times, with 10 charges each, though I can buy a five-shot recipe of it, but both poop after 30 sec and the PFF lasts as long as I have end.
OK, here. Thanks in advance.
