  1. We've confirmed the Reward Table isn't working correctly.

We're looking into the other issues.

Thank you all for your continued testing!

You should be getting a Reward Choice table upon finishing the mission. Is that not happening?

One badge for each choice, one badge for eventually choosing all of them.

I was referred to this thread by a Senior Customer Support representative (post escalation of my support request), and, after reading through the previous five pages, I must say I am grateful for the reports of other users' experiences.

While I am happy to hear that some folk are still acquiring the badge, I am not so lucky. Through various quests (including the arcs The Instant Army, A Hero's Hero, and A Hero's Epic) I have defeated the 14 AV listed (some as actual AVs some as EBs), a good half of them multiple times, in my quest to find the right incarnation that will trigger completion. I am stuck on 12/14.

I have gone back (through wonderful powers of Ouroboros) and completed The Instant Army, A Hero's Hero, and A Hero's Epic. I have made certain that any AV with godmode powers (like Maurader and Bobcat) have had them wear off before I defeat them. I have done everything I can think of and gone back to do various suggestions in this thread. All to no avail.

Since the CSRs have told me "At this time, the issue is in the hands of the Development Team." I would like to provide the following additonal information in case this helps: even after completing The Instant Army, A Hero's Hero, and A Hero's Epic via the Pillar of Ice and Flame at my SG's base, I do not receive a star next to the listing of available missions when done.

Please keep working on this, O Kindly Devs. Again, as the subject line states: beautiful work on the new models and story flow---it does rock. However, the problems acquiring the DW badge are making this tanker (for a very small super group), a very sad panda.

    Be Well,

If you want the badge before we get the fix out, try running Tina Macintyre's "The Praetorian War" StoryArc, that seems to be the one you didn't go back and re-do.
  4. Black Scorpion and I are looking into the badge and checking if it requires OLD versions of the entities as opposed to the new ones.
  5. Dimensional Warder as of I18:
Anti-Matter, Battle Maiden, Black Swan, Bobcat, Chimera, Diabolique, Dominatrix, Infernal, Malaise, Marauder, Neuron, Nightstar, Siege, Mother Mayhem

Pulled that from the badge-data that's on Live right now, so that's the accurate list.
  6. Shadowhunter should no longer be required for Dimensional Warder. I believe we made that true when the new arcs were made.

As for them being "the same stories", I have to beg to differ (MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD):

    Old Tina Macintyre:
Unknown dimension, first contact, who are these people, in-fighting between Anti-Matter and Neuron.

    New Tina Macintyre:
Known dimension. Anti-Matter and Neuron still in-fight, but the reason behind it is because of the events of Old TM story line (AM is no longer a Praetor, Neu replaced him). Fast-time dimension serves more of a story purpose than previously.

    Old Maria Jenkins:
Statesman Missing (has been for some time). She's the only one tracking him down. Mission after mission of "your princess is in another castle".

    New Maria Jenkins:
You and Statesman team up to head off a Praetorian invasion. Eventually Statesman is kidnapped, and you track down clues leading you to uncovering and stopping a vital part of the invasion plan. You then rescue Statesman from the ONE place on Praetoria that is proven strong enough to hold him (that same cave).

I also took amazing pains to make sure as MUCH of the dialog and text was changed and updated as I could. I would argue against "quite a bit of the text is almost identical."

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the new missions. I had a lot of fun working with the guys who did the storylines for Praetoria to make sure my stuff was lining up with theirs. I wanted new players to get much the same "experience" as the old players did with the old arcs, but I didn't want to say the old ones never happened, since a lot of you guys did them and it's part of your personal story! So you can do both and while there is some "samey"-ness involved in the structure, I tried to present stories that built upon the previous ones, yet stood on their own for players who this will be the only experience of them.
  7. I'm looking forward to the madness!
  8. Hey everyone,

I know it’s been common knowledge for a while that the initial phase of the Incarnate system would be available in City of Heroes: Going Rogue. As you know, I’ve been spearheading the “End-Game” system for City of Heroes, to give players a lot of what they’ve been asking for: more powers, greater customization, more epic battles, and most of all, more content to do with their Level 50’s.

That last point was something that we got great feedback on in the GR Closed Beta. Even though it was just a sneak peak, the Alpha Slot doesn’t benefit the player in a way that we had envisioned it would. Because of this feedback we have decided to act sooner rather than later.

Since Alpha Slot Incarnate Abilities do not exemplar down (and we're not changing that), we find that players end up with Power that has limited use. We recognize that the Alpha Slot experience is something that a lot of you are eagerly awaiting for and we want to make sure that it is awesome, and most of all fun, when we bring the system on-line.

We still want to do an “Alpha Slot Sneak Peek”, but we want it to happen once more of the system and content are closer to being ready for prime time.

We want to thank everyone who tested and gave their feedback on the Alpha Slot, the drop rates, the costs, and especially how they see the Abilities interacting with their builds, math-wise. Your testing has been invaluable and we have learned a great deal in a short time thanks to you. We now feel that the Alpha Slot and Incarnate Abilities will have a much higher impact when they are ready to be rolled out.

We hope this helps you to understand why we’ve come to this decision and appreciate your patience while we continue making the Alpha Slot and the rest of the Incarnate System the best that it can be.
  9. Thanks for the birthday wishes! I am doing something fun today (kinda), but can't talk about it yet.
  10. There was an internet gaming cafe outside of Los Angeles that was the site of a Lineage II/CoH Meet & Greet before the Dave and Busters one.

I remember it because that was where I had my first Monster energy drink, although for the life of me I can't remember the name of the place.
  11. I have updated the first post in this thread with the information I got today regarding a couple things.

    Read it here
  12. Congrats to WarWitch on her new duties. In the short time she's been at the helm I have already been impressed with the way she has taken the ball and run with it. Of course, after she felt good about everything is when I gave her the debrief on the current crop of player concerns and things to keep a close eye on in-game, bringing the reality of the position crashing down around her. Heh heh heh.

And a lot of you caught the reference to the End-Game that I am now working on. WarWitch frees me up to be creative again (yay!) and my strike team and I are designing and implementing an all-new system for your max-level characters to participate in. Rest assured that my focus for end-game is FUN. I won't be able to give out any specific details for a while, but I think you are all going to be very excited with all the future plans for City of Heroes, whether it is Going Rogue or beyond.

So yeah, you all can now fill up WarWitch's PM box with all your suggestions/exploits/requests for info/general chit chat. I'll still be around and answer questions when I can, but she's the "go to girl" for all that stuff now.

Here's the torch, WarWitch... don't burn yourself with it.

You bring up a good point: some top-end video cards require their own power cable in your case, and some even require two. Make sure your PC's power supply can handle what you are planning on putting in. In addition, some of these cards are physically huge. I know the card I ended up putting in my home PC -barely- fit and I had to remove several other things just to get it into the slot. If you find yourself in this position and are not comfortable with the inside of your PC, have a friend do the install for you, or have it professionally done.
  14. After demoing the Ultra-mode at HeroCon, one of the most frequently asked questions we have been receiving is “what are the video cards you recommend to get the most out of Ultra-mode?” With the holiday season coming up, we asked the programmers in charge of implementing the features of Ultra-mode what they would recommend. We would like to forward this information on to you so you can better work on your holiday shopping lists.

If you are looking to spend under US$100, then an NVidia 9800 GT is your best bet. For AMD (ATI/Radeon), we don’t have enough of these cards at this price point to get you good data. This would be the minimum card for enabling all the features, only at reduced quality settings.

If you are looking to spend between $100 and $200, the Radeon HD 4890 and GeForce GTX 260 will do you well. We don’t have numbers from the Radeon 57xx series yet to verify if that is better or worse though. This would end up somewhere in the middle of Ultra-mode quality.

Finally if you are going to spend over $200, the GeForce GTX 285 is an excellent choice. We don’t have numbers from the Radeon 58xx series yet. This would be able to run Ultra-mode with the quality maxed out (except we have no data on Anti-aliasing, so caveat emptor when it comes to that specific feature).

Note: This is based on our current internal testing and might change by the time Going Rogue is released. Also, a video card is not the ONLY thing you should take into consideration. Your PC having a decent processor and memory will also enhance your performance. As we continue to test and get more information available we will update you. I hope this helps, and happy holidays!

UPDATE 2-10-2010: Spoke with our engineer today, and he said we were seeing excellent performance from the Radeon 5770 card, which is a mid-range card. We have not tested the 5870, but expect the performance on that card to be one of the fastest for Ultra mode. Also noteworthy is that Ultra Mode does not currently support SLI configured cards. We’re working with NVidia and ATI about this, but you all can speed up the process by contacting NVidia and ATI about updating things on their end to get it to work.
  15. With so much info being laid out so quickly at HeroCon, I figured I'd take an opportunity to clarify a lot of confusing points. My apologies for not being more clear when we first explained them.
    • Heroes can become Vigilantes which can then become Villains
    • Villains can become Rogues which can then become Heroes
    • Thus the circle is Hero->Vigilante->Villain->Rogue->Hero
    • This system is usable by any character over X level (X is a number which has yet to be disclosed). It is not "just for Praetorians".
    • A Hero can go all the way to Villain and then back to Hero again, if they put in enough effort.
    • Praetorians do not use the normal GR system, but have points within their stories where they can choose "Loyalist (aka Villain)" or "Resistance (aka Hero)"
    • When Praetorians leave Praetoria for Primal Earth, they choose if they want to be considered a Hero or a Villain, and are plopped into Paragon or the Rogue Isles.
    • A Vigilante (Rogue) can travel to the Rogue Isles (Paragon City), and can team up with the Villains (Heroes) there. They can not use the markets while they are there however. They must be a full Villain (Hero) to use the markets.

Pretty sure that covers the info we gave out, including clarifying answers we gave on various panels over the weekend, and answers to specific questions we were asked by players.

Super-sidekicking applies to Mission Architect as well.

Of course, this system means that if you've got a team full of level 33s and 34s, then the 34s are always going to want to do the level 34's missions. Otherwise, all the 34s get exemplared to 33 and earn no xp.
With Super-sidekicking this is no longer true.

Everyone (well not level 50's) get XP, even those characters that are exemplared. You can choose to go back to the old "extra Inf., no XP" way if you'd like, though, in Options.

If you are Sidekicked up in this mission, you are still -1 level from the mission owner.

I knew I was forgetting something.

With no mission selected the team is SK'ed/EX'ed to the Team Leader (the person with the Star).

There is a massive difference between the two.

With the character friends list, I cannot make a villain character a friend on a hero, or vice versa. This means that if it's limited by the character friends list, I will never be able to get e-mail from a villain on a hero or vice versa.

If it's limited by the global friends list, there is no issue.

Please clarify what you mean by "friends list" since there are two different lists in game.
Current implementation on Training Room is "character" friends list.

They outlevel it, just like normal. Super-Sidekicking cares about the level of the mission OWNER, not the level of the mission.

Yup, but the requirements still exist on the Hamidon zones and the PVP zones.
