Well done to all involved. I am glad to see it wasn't trivial at least

Quote:The conversion (Knockback to Knockdown) happens 100% of the time; if the power you slot this in does not have Knockback in it then it adds a proc to do Knockdown.The way I interpret it is it gives your attack a chance for knockdown if its just a basic attack. But if the attack already has knockback than it changes that to knockdown. There is no chance about the second effect. Let the back flips commence.
They better be. I already feel like I'm going to need a good amount of these for the procs and some for the regen bonus on my regen scrapper. If this is the only way to get these enhancements than the prices might shoot up on the market once the event is over. Which wouldnt be a bad thing at all granted you used common sense and prepared for such a thing. -
Quote:Did I miss the reward table at the end of the first movie? Or do you have to play both movies, every day, to get a chance for the special enhancement?
Sorry this wasn't clearer: Both movies are combined into ONE event. You must play through both to get credit for completing the event. Which one you start off with is random, however. You do not queue up for each movie individually. -

I am going to TRY to get the D&D session to around 2 hours, so I can run it for 2 different groups.
If we finish and there is no interest in another group, then we can play Hex Hex or WizWar or something. -
Awesome, congratulations! I love stories like this, and am happy City of Heroes brought you two together!

My son will be crushed. This was his favorite show on TV. I agree with the sentiment that it was a terrible show, but when I saw it through my 9 year old's eyes I saw magic.
* Time Travel
* Dinosaurs
* Future weapons and tech
* Mystery
* Conflict
I imagined how I would have reacted if this show was on when I was 9, and yeah, it would have been my favorite show ever.
I think sometimes we lose sight that some shows need a chance because they can be something a family of all ages can watch together. -
Blue Steel didn't get three power sets. Three power sets got the privilege of being used by Blue Steel.

Yeah, there is a bit of code remnant that doesn't spawn the correct level enemies unless you have a villain or rogue in your group. More info on how to avoid this bug will be coming shortly.

Quote:Just so everyone is clear, I write the person-who-paid's name on the money they give me for the prize pool. This helps me keep track of who paid and who didn't. Plus it's kind of a tradition at this point.I still managed to get money with Alpha Wolf's name on it, so my prediction wasn't entirely untrue!
In the end, the winner gets to select the bills of the people he wants, 2nd place and consolation prizes get to pick from the leftovers. Alpha Wolf was kind enough to leave his own bill in the mix for Clockwork01 to take for 2nd place. Skippy got 25% of the prize pool for having the best record, some money went out mid-season for a challenge game, and Zwill and I split 12.5% of the money for being out of contention for so long, yet STILL fielding respectable teams every single week. -

Just to be clear:
The actual removal of Statesman from the game content will come at a later date. It's a big effort that is better tied into a full issue release due to the number of bugs and edge-cases it can cause. -
Quote:A bunch of the design team called them the "Titan Twelve". I liked the ring to that better.A few weeks ago 12 people were able to purchase it.
We called them the Dirty Dozen.
Also, a Dev/Paragon/NCsoft employee is never supposed to do anything like that on their personal accounts. I'm pretty sure that we all value our jobs more than that.
The powerset was pretty borked for those 12 players, and we were not in any rush to fix it, so kudos to someone who stuck with it and collected all those badges. -
Quote:An uncommon might become a rare, but won't become a very rare. As I said, VR is a separate thing entirely when it comes to converting.So is it possible to go from common to rare or very rare just not pvp or ATO? I could see using these. What about the leve of the enhancement? Do you get the same level or is it lower? Now I kind of wish I held on to all those crap of the hunter enhancements I got.

Answering some questions:
Converters cannot be traded, they are bound to the character that gets them.
PVP is it's own "rarity", as is Very Rare and ATO. This means you can convert a PVP to another PVP, or a VR to another VR, or an ATO to another ATO, but you can't convert a PVP to a VR, ATO, or another Set (and vice verse, no way to get a PVP out of the system unless you put a PVP in to begin with). -
Hey everyone,
I've been following a ton of stuff that the board have been talking about since the Player Summit we held a couple weeks ago. We've taken a close look at your feedback on the various things announced, and are in the process of making changes where we feel it's appropriate and good for the overall game.
This thread is about Enhancement Converters. These are tokens that you can use to change Set-based IOs into other random Set-based IOs. The original thought was that the only way to acquire these would be through the Paragon Market. Several of you disagreed with this exclusivity to this item so we took another look at it.
We feel pretty comfortable in allowing these to be obtained in-game by VIPs. These will be sold on Reward Merit, Alignment Merit, and Endgame Merit vendors with the following values (subject to change):
10 Reward Merits buys 1 Enhancement Converter Token
1 Alignment Merit buys 10 Enhancement Converter Tokens (20 hour cooldown)
3 Astral Merit buys 2 Enhancement Converter Tokens
1 Empyrean Merit buys 5 Enhancement Converter Tokens
In addition, they will be rare drops from enemies for VIPs.
Remember, it costs 3 tokens to convert a Set IO into another, random, enhancement from that same set. It costs 2 tokens to convert a Set IO into another, random, enhancement of the same category, and it costs 1 token to convert a Set IO into another, random, enhancement of the same rarity. Basically the more possibilities it has to change into, the lower the cost.
Because of this, we're not going to initially sell these on the Paragon Market as we had first planned. These will be available exclusively in-game to VIPs by the above means for the time being. -
Hey guys,
I thought I'd jump in here and give some feedback on an idea that kept cropping up at the beginning of the thread:
Costume parts for VIPs.
While this sounds good on paper, the reality of the situation is the system isn't set up to handle this. It would involve a pretty significant code-change (we investigated this when developing Freedom). The problem is "what happens when you are no longer VIP?" Currently the game does not remove illegal costume parts (as many players can attest to, still having costumes with illegal parts today).
The simple solution sounds like "let us keep them" but we'd like to avoid the future argument of "why do non-VIPs get to use VIP costumes?" -

Arbiter Hawk is in a meeting, but he wanted me to post this:
Hey all, just popping in here to give some clarification on this point:
There are two ways to obtain Maelstrom's Pistols as a costume piece. The recipe has a 4% chance to drop each time you see a pistol get knocked out of Maelstrom's hand in the TPN Campus incarnate trial. This occurs twice per playthrough on a successful trial - once when you defeat him inside the main TPN Campus building, and once when you defeat him outside during stage 4 of the trial. That means there's a 7.84% chance of somebody in the league getting the Maelstrom's Pistol recipe that you are currently seeing in the auction house listing. This recipe is tradeable and can be used by any dual pistols character or thugs mastermind at any level, meaning you can send it to your friend's new level 1 character to make a cool pistol for him to use. Using the recipe allows you to craft either the left pistol or the right pistol.
The other method of obtaining this costume piece is to complete the TPN Campus trial with an Incarnate character who uses either dual pistols or thugs, and then visit Empyrean Michael. You should then find that he will allow you to unlock both pistols on that character for a moderate Empyrean Merit cost. This ensures that all characters who can use dual pistols have a way of eventually unlocking Maelstrom's guns if that's what they want. The main goal with this reward is to give players multiple ways to earn a signature costume piece from an incarnate level villain, while making sense within the story of the trial (each time you beat him, he loses a gun, until he's left with only his fists and feet in the grand finale.) The idea here is that the recipe drop feels like a "bonus" - it allows you to use the pistol on a low level alt, or on a character you haven't done TPN with - but that any Dual Pistols or Thugs character who wants to unlock the piece for having defeated Maelstrom at TPN Campus is also able to do so. -
Quote:Top two teams in each division make the playoffs.Okay, quick question. Looking at the Paragon City and Rogue Isles divisions in determining who makes the playoffs, are the teams ranked by division W-L records or overall W-L records? This is particularly salient to me, since my pick is 4-0 in his division but only 4-4 overall.

I put a variation of this up on my blog, but I wanted to share it with all of you:
Charity is a weird thing. Organizations and hospitals depend on charitable donations to operate and do what they do, and meanwhile most of us just go on with our lives and assume someone "else" is doing it. A rich philanthropist must be keeping these organizations running, right? Well, this past weekend Paragon Studios participated in something that proved that everyone can make a difference, we all just need to be prompted. The Extra Life marathon on Saturday challenged gamers to play games for 24 hours, while asking for sponsorships. Gamers could organize into teams and choose which children's hospital in the Children's Miracle Network received their donations.
This past weekend Paragon Studios put together a team and spent the day playing City of Heroes, D&D, League of Legends, Rock Band and Starcraft II among other games, all in the name of charity. At the end of the day Paragon raised over $7,000 (I said if we got over $5k I'd shave my beard, which I promptly did), and all of Extra Life raised over $1.1 million dollars! This was not simply a rich philanthropist but thousands and thousands of gamers and ordinary folk simply chipping in what they could. $5, $25, $100, $200, it all adds up people. You CAN make a difference in this world, my only wish is that we didn't need to do "events" to call attention to these things.
If this message strikes a chord with you, then I am here to inform you that it's not too late to donate. Visit the Paragon Team page here, select a team member and then hit the "Support me" button and make a contribution. 100% of the funds raised go to the hospitals chosen by the teams, in our case, the Children's Hospital & Research Center of Oakland.
If you were one of the many players who donated prior to or during the event, Paragon Studios thanks you for your donation, and we commend our community for their generosity. Charity is a powerful tool, we just need to remember how to use it sometimes and you guys did an awesome job of that. -
All of the "move or die" FX powers should be tagged with a priority on them to make them draw first before any other FX, so those people with lower graphic settings will still see them even if a million other things are going on.
If you find this isn't the case, please report the bugs so we can remedy that.
