    If they made sparky either into a machine gun or do more dam, it may be all it needs..

    It trades damage for safety IMO, but its not good by itself in the safety dept, unless paired just right.

    Now that that is out of the way, what do you all think could be the highest DPS achievable by the kings of damage?

    True, true.

    I do sacrifice DPS for safety it seems when I play my namesake, I mean, nothing was a threat to me after lvl 35, and after shocking grasp the game was a cakewalk.

    However, by itself It cant do AoE blaptrolling, unless combined with /ice, /elec/ or /eng (due to more drain, ice's utility mixed with drains, or powerboost)

    and when it cant do it's job in that sense, what does it have?

    It has a pet which is essentially a Pwe-Pwe machine, yet it isnt too good at ST...the heck?

    Truth, but i cast it before combat starts.

    And wouldnt resummoning a free source of extra 33dps be worth it?


    (just a thought, but if we can prove via this that Elec is actually far behind in DPS....think it could see a buff? )

    anywho, I use the sparky buff as a means to "get teh ball rolling", having done slightly more damage for 10sec of the chain, thus doing more damage total over the time i do it

    I managed to do this for "base" damage now, please point out any flaws:

    109 + (62.6 x 1.055) + (102.6 x 1.121) + (109 x 1.231) + (62.6 x 1.286) + (102.6 x 1.352) + (109 x 1.462) + (62.6 x 1.517) + (102.6 x (1.583 - .055)) + ((109 x 1.638)/1.205)

    109 + 66.043 + 115.0146 + 134.179 + 80.5036 + 138.7152 + 159.358 + 94.9642 + 156.7728 + 148.1676 = 1202.718 / 12.8 sec = 93.96 + 33.18 = 127.14 DPS

    1202.718 x 1.255 = 1509.411 x 1.205 = 1818.84 / 12.8 = 142.1 + 33.18 = 175.27 DPS

    1818.84 x 1.998 = 3634.04 / 12.8 sec = 283.91 dps + 33.18= 317.09 DPS


    the 1.998 modifier is the enhanced damage I have on those powers.

    This seems to be the only attempt at adding defiance into a chain Ive seen as well >.>

    Player99, his point was that all damage buffs (such as those from defiance, buffs like Fulcrum Shift, and enhancements) are added up and then multiplied by the base damage of the attack (not the enhanced damage). A 100 base damage attack will be slotted up to around 200 damage (195ish really, but shush), but a 30% damage buff from defiance will then raise it to 230 damage, not 260 damage. If you hit Build Up (and still had the 30% defiance boost) then the 100 base dmg attack would do 330 damage.

    allright, but in the end, wouldnt i have to add the enhanced damage to the equation anyways?

    like:

    100 base x Defiance buff= 150 dam x enhanced = 300 damage.

    wouldnt that be the same as:

    100 x enhanced= 200 dam x def buff = 300 damage?


    @Bim, you forgot to add server lag to the activation times.

    the real times would be

    1sec= 1.188
    .83sec= .924

    What im doing is adding the damage buff to a x1 multiplier.

    so:

    100 damage x 1= 100 damage (base, essentially)

    100damage x1(+6.6% def buff):
    100 x1.066 =106.6
    100 x1.066 (+6.6% def buff again):
    100x1.132 =113.2

    Seeing as the buff applies during the whole duration of the buff, it can easily stack as a small multiplier effect.

    If I carry on the formula, as I did in the ranged damage chain, I simply find out when the buff would wear off, and subtract it from the equation for the attack it next applies to.

    In fact, after a bit of blasting I regularly see Lighting bolt hitting for 244ish

    also note that I am not starting at base, I have a 25.5% natural damage buff, as well as a 20.5% buff from voltaic sentinel starting the chain. so Im allready hitting with a +46% buff

    while working with those buffs, I add teh damage of Voltaic sentinel which adds a decent amount to my chain.

    going into semantics a bit myself, i never said I broke 300...i said I pushed it.

    now, I have a constant 25.5 damage buff, and 102.5% rech with hasten, and a 28sec downtime with it, but lets not focus on that, because the fight should be over in most cases before hasten goes away.

    my chain is Charged brawl-> Charged Bolt-> Lightning Bolt-> Charged Brawl.

    If I cast Voltaic sentinel before the battle (and after hasten goes off) I end up with this:

    243.1 + (141.6 x 1.055) + (232.3 x 1.121) + (243.1 x 1.231) + (141.6 x 1.286) + (232.3 x 1.352) + (243.1 x 1.462) + (141.6 x 1.517) + (232.3 x (1.583 - .055)) + ((243.1 x 1.638)/1.205) = 2703.95(1.205)= 3258.26 / 12.8 = 254.55 + 33.18 = 287.73

    that is whithin the Sparky buff, and at teh end Sparky's DPS is simply added, as it is not truly a part of my attack chain, but an additional source.

    Afte rthe sparky buff is gone, it averages out, possibly losing 2-3 dps. as shown on the ranged damage chain here, after the sparky buff is gone, the chain continues for a minute until i need to resummon sparky, which will provide a large defiance buff of itself, and only result in a small loss of DPS, followed by a gain due to the buff (coupled with existing defiance boosts from previous attacks, which will still be active during the cast, and affec the possible next 1-2 attacks, coupled witha sparky attack)

    EDIT: Jad, is your next toon an Elec3? or just a blaster?

    I know there is a thread on this in general AT section, but nothing really specific has come from it, so I came here to pose the question:

    What is the best DPS a blaster can pump out? (regardless of survivability)

    The best ranged/melee chain?

    Best over 1-2min? best over long period?

    Ive figured out that my own elec3 has a chain that can pump out around 200 ranged DPS essentially as long as I dont miss, and with a tiny fluctuation that evens out after Casting Voltai sentinel (defiance boosts the following attacks up to smooth out the cast time's subtraction to DPS)

    And if I chain in my melee attacks, I can push 300.

    My theory is that recharge >>>> more damage buff.

    The reason is with defiance, you already get a large damage buff the more often you attack, so building to attack faster generates more damage in and of itself.

    The trick is to have enough end at all times to sustain a blistering attack pace. But once you achieve high recovery, having massive recharge outperforms +damage bonuses by far.

    This is especially true for AoE builds where the powers generally recharge slower then single target attacks. you want your fireball/firebreath, etc. up as often as possible to blast through large groups quickly.

    not necesarily, I mena, if you have enough recharge where you have a seamless chain , it gets redundant to add more. At that point more damage makes it better

    on top of that, the higher damage means bigger defiance numbers throughout your chain of attacks, resulting in better damage

    Back in the day, right after the Stalker changes there was something neat I did:

    A double critical.

    Then I got even luckier and landed something amazing: A critical AS.

    People other than me reported this too, and seeing as it was exceedingly rare for the natural crit to co-allign with the hide crit (how you double crit) it was kept in game.

    Now, the question is, does it still exist?

    I know my stalker has done this a handful of times in the past, yet my friend has not, and Im trying to convince him that it can happen...well does it still?

    ok, trying my search fu resulted in many, many talks about radiation emission and regen scrappers...

    essentially, is there a list somewhere of enemy regen rates?(on average)

    for example:

    Minion=blah
    Lt=filler
    boss=insert rate here
    AV=over 9000

    etc, etc?

    One final question:

    Is it permanent until you die? or is it on a kind of cycle?

    for instance, you do heal A, then heal B. after that you do debuff A, Buff A the debuff B.

    after 5 different attacks/effects/etc, will it recycle so heal A will be full effectivness?

    does it effect fury and defiance though?
