Quote:I was one of the Telepathist spikers, and realized that probably the best strategy for handling the Telepathists might be to assign one person to each civilian group and take out any Telepathists that spawn with that group; that'll cut down on converted citizens. If you have people to spare, let them bounce between telepathists and help people having trouble. In our 8-person TPN last night, Shinobi had three people out doing telepaths.
Obviously, we couldn't do this last night because it would have been half our league. But I think it would be efficient.
Edit: Or maybe not. -
One more thing...
There's a good chance that the Winter Event will start this week, in which case Pocket D will be filled with BNY farmers, skiers, and other Eventgoers. To avoid annoying them too much, we'll go somewhere else; I'm open to suggestions, but I think that the AE building in the RWZ would be good. -
Had trouble getting people this week, so by time we formed we only had time for two runs. We got Anti-Anti-Matter on the second run, but never came close to a successful Green Stuff or Loves a Challenge run.
Thanks all who came out this week, and sorry to the Sunday regulars who couldn't because of the day change.
Next week, I'll be able to play on Sunday again, so we're back to our normal day and time. -
I should be on in about 40-50 minutes to start forming for today.

Quote:Grats! Sounds like they took the Underground approach ("A good league has a good chance") to designing badges for MoM (except Dreamwalker, which is "Do it enough and you'll get it eventually") and TPN, which I'm glad to see.Looks like we got this badge today without really trying for it by using the "pull Voids to AV at spawn point" method.
If no one else beats me to it and depending how I'm feeling after Keyesing, I may try to organize MoM/TPN badge runs tonight. (And if I don't, I'm sure someone else will.) -
Quote:Never tried it, but assuming it works like all the other rewards tables in the game, you can leave the rewards table open and wait for the timer to roll over before claiming a reward; even if you log out, it'll be there when you log back in.Hey all,
So, is it -exactly- one week for claiming a signature story arc reward, down to the minute? If you are twenty minutes early are you hosed? I've never checked as I didn't want to waste 15 minutes. I assume the latter-that it is down to the minute once/week.
Anyone try it?

Quote:Sure, if I add up the point cost of everything in a Pack, it would probably come out to more than 80. But most of the things in the Packs everything but the Elemental Order pieces is, to me, junk. I'm not spending points on junk just because I get it at a discount. And if that means I can't get the costume pieces... so be it.Also, at 80 points a pack, you're getting a steal for the items inside (in terms of overall value).
Quote:So, heres a concern- I don't know if this has been addressed, but it was discovered a while back that since the Paragon Store is designed to not let us purchase items we already own, purchasing a single costume part from a set individually will then lock you out from purchasing the set, since you already own part of it.
So it's possible that by getting a costume part in one of these Super Packs, I'd "win" the ability to no longer purchase the costumes as a set if they were to be released for sale at some point? -
23 hours to go time. See you all in Pocket D.

Quote:Premiums can't use Kheldian or SoA enhancements*.Premiums can use ATIOs without a license. There is nothing in the pack a Premium cannot use.
Tier 4 and below Premiums also can't use Mastermind or Controller enhancements.
Tier 3 and below can't even use the market to sell unusable or unwanted ATOs.
* Yes, they can buy access to the archetypes. But if you're willing to say, "You have to make a separate purchase to use this random thing you bought," you don't need to point out that ATOs can be used without a license.
I'm not particularly comfortable with the idea of things that can resold for inf being sold for real money/Paragon Points, but I like that better than the alternative of a player being stuck with a randomly-selected enhancement they have no use for.
Maybe the specific ATOs in the packs could be replaced by a token redeemable for an account-bound, level-scaling ATO of the player's choosing, but that has marketing implications. I don't know. -
Quote:I'm a little confused about this one. There are only two 500-point Public Opinion challenges; the other caps at 250 and doesn't require reaching that threshold. So:Hint text - Complete all three 500-point Public Opinion challenges, taking no more than 8 minutes per challenge, and then finish the trial.
Is the first challenge included in this?
Do you have to get to 250 Public Opinion for the badge?
Or did I miss a third challenge at some point? -
Quote:You can get Not on My Watch (BAF) and Synchronized (Lambda) without completing the trials; they award immediately upon the requirements being met. This raises a more general question that I don't think ever came up before: With all these Incarnate trials and their "sub-badges" as part of the Master badge requirement do you have to have the main trial completion badge before you can get any sub-badge? I'm guessing the obvious answer is 'yes' because of the way the badges are triggered.

Quote:As one of the people who asked about this, I feel I should say that I agree. The thought popped into my head when Hawk mentioned possibly applying the Containment flag to new mez-immune enemies, and I hadn't considered the fact that the escapees aren't hard. Heck, my ice/storm controller, as it is, can pretty much lock down a door solo.Hawk: "I don't want to make something that is already easy even easier. I can understand thematically why you'd want it. But from a gameplay point it doesn't need tweaking."
Thanks for the writeup, VK. -
Quote:You're welcome, and thanks to Tabby for guiding us through the TPN trial. Also want to pass on a congratulations to a successful TPN league tonight! Special thanks goes to Placta and Black Tabby.
And thanks and congrats to all who helped with both the TPN and the following MoM. -
Congrats all on the successful run, all!
-
Quote:You're welcome. And of course, thank you, and everyone else who's come out and stuck with it this long. I can handle failure, especially when we're getting closer every time. I'd have given up months ago if forming was regularly a chore.Placta, thanks once again to organizing these runs. It's a lot of work building the teams, and prepping the league in advance with detailed instructions. It probably doesn't get said enough, but again, "Thank you!"
Quote:You know, it's going to be especially sweet when we nail Green Stuff. Should have had it last week. Should have had it today. We're on the doorstep, knocking away. So close. We'll get it.
Quote:Sorry I screwed up last Sunday's almost successful run T_T
Anyway, pancake happens. And it gave me one more thing to mention in my briefings
Quote:Then put my input in the 'derp' category, Amygdala.
I didn't notice how much the OP had changed. Sorry guys, carry on.
I've currently got the start time set at 4:30 EST. I'll probably be able to start before then, but I'd rather be early than late. -
That's WAI; rewards are shared between all episodes of a single arc. However, the first run per episode per character grants the full rewards table. However, there was a slight nerf a few weeks back: You now have to reinforce your alignment as a hero/villain before you can take the alignment merit.

Quote:I believe just the ATOs and possibly the Catalysts will be sellable.Didnt they say alls those things would be sellable ont he market? So if you don't get hwat you want, sell them, and buy them when others put them on the market.
But even with they are, I don't want to buy inf from the Market. (I'm still not comfortable with the idea of the Market selling tradable items at all, although I concede it's better for randomly distributed ATOs to be tradeable than for a player to be stuck with an ATO for an archetype they don't enjoy, or worse, can't use. Actually, if they can't use certain archetypes, they may not have market access, either... yeesh, I'm liking this idea less and less...) So, I won't, even if it means I can't have the Elemental Order costume set, which I do want and would buy on its own. -
There's a world ruled by Oranbegans who've forsworn violence.
The Rikti dimension was peaceful until forces from our world attacked them. -
I'm beginning to wish I'd started a log of ways Green Stuff failed when I started this. It's aggravating now, but when we get there, things like "Truck stopped backwards movement, wasn't quite out of the beam" will be funny. (That was me, a couple of months ago.)
So, yeah, only did a successful Bunker Buster today.
We were missing a lot of regulars and semi-regulars today. I suppose with the holiday season, it's to be expected, because after all...
I won't be able to do this next Sunday. To make up for it, I'm going to try to do it next Saturday when I get home from work (likely between 4:00 and 4:30 PM EST). To answer the concern expressed by one of the regulars who can't make it: In the event that the comedy of errors doesn't continue, I'll still keep the Sunday runs going for a while. Although I may put them on hiatus until January. -
I'll be in Pocket D in 20 minutes to start forming.

24 (and a half) hours to go. See y'all in Pocket D tomorrow.

Quote:The Super Packs, as currently outlined, have nothing to do with being VIP. Premiums can buy them. (Free players, strictly speaking, cannot, but only because in buying the points for the packs they'd be upgraded to premium.)My 2 cents, is I would prefer - yes you heard me right, *prefer* - that the costume pieces from the boosters be *kept* exclusive, since to me that sounds like being able to be a VIP. Which, you have to be to get them, as I recall.
Quote:Frankly, the gripes about the exclusivity and how it'll cost them points is LUDICROUS considering that the normal method to obtain them is...
Oh right. Spending points. Sheesh. What hypocrisy.
If the Elemental Order costume pieces are offered for sale outside the Super Packs, I will buy them unless they're priced too exorbitantly. I will not buy Super Packs, regardless of whether the expected cost of buying packs until I have the whole set is less than the cost of buying the pieces separately, or even if it's the only way to get the pieces.
===
In any case, thank you for the update, Zwillinger. It's encouraging news, and I hope that the costume pieces are made available outside the Super Packs. -
Quote:Well, I wasn't going to buy them, and still won't, even though the only items in the pack that I care about are still, as of this announcement, exclusive to the pack. I've always been okay with the idea of Super Packs, just not exclusive items. It's really kind of funny in a vaguely twisted way. Everyone who's saying they're happy with the pack now are happy because the pack has been neutered to the point where they can avoid buying it.
Hopefully the costume pieces will end up non-exclusive as well.
