Quote:Hidden Submarine Dock. Eastern Edge of South Jungle (F11)F11. The submarines speakers crackled into life. Giving a howl of feedback before a salty voice speaks. "Ye be wanting the pipsqueak to be safe, then yer better get a move on. She's under that dere plant, locked up tighter than a princess's knickers so she is. You bring her here and things can end up all ship shape."
Priest was pleased to see peaceful negotiation tactics finally reaping its benefits. He nodded courteously to the armed defenders and shot up through the hatch. "You heard the message Tyran. We need to get to the plant. My wife's already there." With that said, the holy man took to the air and headed towards the exit tunnel. "Why don't you leave your soldiers to guard the submarine Tyran? You and I should rejoin Damsel at the plant... see this Tomb for ourselves."
Priest flew out of the tunnel with such speed he did not notice the US Army helicarrier that had air-dropped Damsel's team, descending from above him and coming in for a landing near the Eastern Cliff. With supersonic speed he burst forwards, the crumbling structure of the old Insidium Plant coming into view.
Arriving at the Old Insidium Plant (E4)
Priest landed with controlled grace and entered the building. He had spotted a woman, probably a solo mercenary, brandishing two large rockets. Now he was faced with two goat-like demons, recognisable minions of the Court of the Blood Countess and a very familiar werewolf.
"Jack, isn't it?" he asked, looking around the room for hidden entrances, while his thoughts communicated with Damsel over the Nighthunter's amulet. -
CB. Response to F11 submarine dock too please.

Quote:Hidden Submarine Dock. Eastern Edge of South Jungle (F11)F11. The moment the hatch is opened sub machine gun fire speaks, bullets whizzing out of the hatch though for the most part the submarines defenders are firing blind.
Stray bullets hit the Priest through his thick Nighthunter's Armour, the para-aramid synthetic fibre of the Kevlar taking most of the damage. Priest flew high up into the shadows of the cave to heal, the couple dozen bullets inside him being pushed out, fell and landed inside the submarine, hitting the metal with a rain of clanking sounds. Priest descended back through the hatch, landing in the centre of the mob inside the submarine.
"That hurt" he commented calmly. "Please do not do it again. I'm here to help you protect the little one called Tomb. I understand you're under her employ. Which means it's in both our interests to ensure her safe departure from this warzone. We can work together. Just tell me where to find her. Please." -
Quote:Hidden Submarine Dock. Eastern Edge of South Jungle (F11)"They won't give up answers easily. No doubt loyal to her either through desire or brainwashing. But there's other ways to get information. How about we go see how talkative they are?"
Priest gave Tyran a suspicious look. "I'm going try asking them" he said, heading towards the sub's hatch. "If that doesn't work then we'll read their minds. But under no circumstances will I allow extreme actions like torture. Please?" he added, using his superstrength to tug at the hatch door. -
Quote:"Tyran" said the Priest, staring intently through the submarine. "There are people inside this seacraft. They're heavily armed, guarding money, food and vast chemicals. I think we can assume this is Tomb's exit strategy." Priest turned to face the stripped and fury anthropomorph. "Those men and women already know we're here. We should try talking to them. Get some answers on Tomb's whereabouts".F11. The submarine contains seamen, it also contains a loading bay full of money, food, weapons and some sorts of chemicals. The seamen and seawomen are armed, and apparently aware of the heroes outside. Some are in defensive positions, while others continue to make the submarine ready.
The amulet on the Priest started to glow and Damsel's broadcast reached him. "Roger that Damsel, please be careful" he replied. -
-
"Yes" said Priest, eyeing Tyran with a questioning look as he often does. "We'll see." Priest moved on into the Submarine docks and began looking around. He heated up his eyes again and blasted forth invisible x-ray energy, peeking through the walls of the large, pink structure, half expecting to find seamen within.

Quote:Deep inside the Eastern Cave (F11)F11. The field sparks, and bulges, the air shifting as the darkness of the cave billows outwards, with a whumwhumwhum noise, the field breaks, revealing the cave to be much deeper, in fact an entire submarine dock was hidden by the field, machines running on automated programming are in the process of loading things into a medium sized submarine.
The machines are for the most part robotic arms mounted on the docks, though several are flatbed caterpillar tracked ones that drive back and forth delivering and receiving supplies from robotic arms. The submarine is pink, and has been decorated with the ten thousand yard stare and smile of a ‘My Little Pony’.
Priest could see a light at the distant end of the cave tunnels after the field shattered. He jetted ahead at high speed until the submarine dock came into view. "My God" he prayed silently. Something about seeing the bright pink submarine with it's pretty pony paintwork, brought a tear to his eye.
"Tyran... what kind of a world do we live in, where the innocent soul of a child is caused to become so twisted and so lost that it ends up here, living like this? This young girl needs help. We cannot let her be executed. My daughter for instance loves My Little Pony. The thought of something happening to her to turn her into someone like Tomb... it would be the greatest failure. In all honesty, we should hold ourselves accountable, as members of this society, for what has turned this little girl into a cold and calculating mass-murdering outcast. She's no more a villain than the victim of man's own evil ways. Surely you'll agree?" -
Quote:"Only one way to find out" said the Priest, backing up just far enough to allow some distance between himself and the barrier. After some meditation, his eyes glowed a bright hot red, burning with extreme fire. Calmly and slowly, Priest performed a sequence of meditative arm gestures which brought his chi energy to it's maximum potential. The air around him began to haze, then sizzle until it combusted into a blinding white-hot glow of energy. "Step back" he called to Tyran, before exploding out an optic blast with his laser beam eyes that seemed to burn on forever."Hmm, strange. Definitely a barrier but what kind?" Tyran stroked over it gently, brushing against the surface tension of the field.
"There" he said, after the attack was done. "That should weaken it some. Let's pound on it and hope it shatters under pressure." -
Great work wiki team. I think it looks ah-mazing! -
Heh. I was just about to point this out. Might want to edit your post Erik, kind of silly skipping whole chunks of RP like that. Remember there are holes in the floors of the mine shafts too, great big pit-falls with viral weapons within, probably not big enough to trap the giant dragon or a flyer, but there are entangling wires around and if I read correctly, unphasable rock properties in certain places.

Eastern Edge of South Jungle (F11)
Priest nodded at Tyran and proceeded into the dark caves to investigate. The further he flew the more he noticed that inside this cave, the movement of light and shadow were unnaturally distorted. The sound of crashing waves are odd too, as if noise was snuffed out by a blanket, coming in from behind closed doors.
With peaked intrigue, the Priest propelled himself deep into the hole and quickly hit a wall. "Some kind of clear, protective field in here Tyran" he yelled back, before peering in to study the barrier. "Come take a look at this. The composition of force here repels, quite strongly, like an elasticated build up of tension. The only way we're getting through this is to counteract that pressure. Go in hard and penetrate with force. Hopefully we can break the rubber." -
Quote:Eastern Edge of South Jungle (F11)F11. The edge of the jungle was quiet and undisturbed, backing on to the east side of the island. A breeze swept through the undergrowth and three figures appeared from nowhere. Tyran Gar and a pair of soldiers armed with guns and blades walked slowly towards the jungle with Tyran at point. He scanned the fauna and stepped in, pushing branches aside as his cohorts followed him in.
"Helicarrier to Priest" came the voice in Pious's mind. "We have on board Altair Stevens, Maiden of the Layline, Sentinel and Hellskiller. They're fine but err, the latter is not so good. We're going to head back Stateside and see if we can't get any help. Over and out."
"Roger that" replied Priest. He was glad to be briefed on goings ons with the mountain team and the mines team, although he was still waiting on the Port and Towns team, and also from Damsel. As he hovered there above the waters, he saw something moving in the greenery. The stripped fur of Tyran Gar and two accompanying soldiers. "Tyran" he called. "Good to see you. Can you get down here? I've spotted a cave at the side of this cliff. Think we should look into it." -
Quote:Far above in the SkiesJust then a flash of light zipped past, collecting Altair. Another shot past and collected the Maiden, leaving the two men stranded on the mountain as the stream of molten rock finally engulfed them whole.
The drop hatch opened to receive the two flying rescuers, Commander David Saints-Hunter and Colonel Peter Saints-Hunter aka The Crusader. The two high-ranking soldiers geared in urban camouflage flew up into the military helicarrier, carrying the injured and slightly burnt forms of Altair Stevens and the Maiden. As the women rested and healed, the grotesque half-regenerated and heavily disfigured form of The Sentinel was seen approaching through the clouds. In his arms were the charred skeletal remains of Detective Mike 'Hellskiller' Grayson. He'd been buried under the volcano and unlike the Sentinel, he was powerless to survive the superhot lava. The flying mass of charred bone and exposed muscle landed with a stagger and looked up to face his comrades.
"I'm sorry..." he stammered, his fleshless face an ugly picture of shattered emotions, tear glands bleeding fluidly. He fell to his knees and sobbed silently.
"I failed"
"I failed to save him." -
Quote:Edge of the South Jungle (F11)F11. A sheer cliff face, is set to the east, the edges are knife sharp, a broken down fence remains there, the wood long rotten away leaving lengths of rusty barbed wire. To the west the jungle thickens, the canopy cutting out light, hot ashes fall on the grass, some of the ashes glow a dull orange.
The passing darkness was not noticed within the jungle but the eruption of the volcano shook the very earth. Priest panicked, concerned for his team. "All units report! Landborough Town, Blade, Suraya, report!" he broadcasted, thinking through the amulet. As he did so, he flew back out of the jungle and onto the cliff face to get a better view of the volcanic destruction. "Landborough Port, Cornall, Miranda, report! Insidium Plant, Damsel, Hells, report! Insidium Mines, Altair, Maiden, report! Tyran, I'm at your designated sector but I don't see you anywhere. Are you okay? Is there anybody hearing me?"
Just then something at the side of the cliffs caught Priest's eyes. A huge cave at sea level. -
Quote:Mount Inconvenient (D7)The earth roars and shudders, if people are looking towards the mountain they will see the top of the mountain… explode! Moments later hot ashes will begin to fall on every outdoor location, as mount Inconvenient begins to belch flames and molten rock.
Side of the mountain was the worst place to have been teleported to at this moment and sadly for Hellskiller, The Sentinel, Altair and Maiden of the Layline, that's precisely where they'd been dumped. Except the darkness that enveloped the island only briefly, there was very little warning before the mountain exploded. The vicious volcano spouted an endless ocean of molten rock and clouds of hot ash, lethal at the current proximity. Petrified and held in place by sheer terror, the four looked skyward as certain death rained down their way.
"Mike! Simon! Mel!" yelled Altair, the first to snap out of the entrapment of fear. "Teleport! Teleport! TELEPORT!"
"Teleporting got us up here" said the Sentinel, taking flight. "I'm not ready to risk doing it again. What if we end up inside the mountain of lava?"
Nervous and under pressure, they continued to argue under the approaching flood of lava. Just then a flash of light zipped past, collecting Altair. Another shot past and collected the Maiden, leaving the two men stranded on the mountain as the stream of molten rock finally engulfed them whole. -
(An excerpt from the Nighthunter's online blog, accessible in-character, where the Priest is talking about the Halloween Party in Dark Astoria)
Wednesday 20th October: Party at the Crossroads
Recognising the strain of monster-human relations since the Open Season bounties, which pitted monster hunters, mercenaries and undead against one another, and the year-long Demon War between the Nighthunters and the Countess, I decided something positive and light-hearted must come of it. Both the Countess Bathory and her Court, myself and my team have lost close friends and family members in the conflicts, and recently, the two of us have managed to put all of that behind us. So I arranged a video-based viral advertisement asking the peoples of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles to do the same and try to resolve their issues. After all, monsters are people too, and people too can be monsters. I asked that we all look beyond our differences and come together this Halloween to do what we love to do most; party. I asked that we embrace the beauty of these wondrous monsters and celebrate the horrors of the Living Dead.
The party went on from six in the evening until near on midnight and the turn out was spectacular. Some of the names and codenames picked up at the crossroads includes Charlie Donovan, Alena Corvas, Agent Buzzclaw, Claire, Lady Darkheart, Artemidos, Ghostwind, Dominic, Sarah Black, Maria Jones, Damzel, Colonel Reynolds, Konrad, Tyran Gar, Amy Zon and Amy who all arrived in time for the Monster Disco, Zombie Barbeque and Ghoul costume contest, to which Ghostwind was winner of. As more guests arrived, people helped themselves to 'zombie fluid' apple juice, 'vampire blood' fruit punch, 'ghostly' grape beverages and 'witch's potion' booze. On the barbeque was slimy duck, roast pork, chicken drumsticks, lamb chops and spare ribs.
Among the late arrivals were Powerstone, Nightmare Miror, Mirror Walker, Boundless Skies, Starjet (Mistress Rose), Captain Flair, Maiden of the Layline, Donna Lodge, Tyger, Lightning Kiss, Riotknight and Common Sense. As part of the theme, a Night Fever radiated from my Michael Jackson 'Thriller' costume and although it was heavily resisted by Alena Corvas, the dancing decease infected the giant Amy Zon, Agent Buzzclaw and one Sarah Black. The four of us promptly hit the Tomb of the Midnight Squad and gave the performance of our lives. Much fun was had and most importantly, the guests were well entertained.
However, shortly after the show, events took an interesting turn. The shamans local to Moth Cemetery show me a certain level of respect, brought about by their understanding of what would happen should they cross me. Earlier, we had entered a peace treaty where they promised to practise no ill-magic and even gave their word that the giant monster Adamastor would be kept at bay, unless provoked. They explained that he was being kept under control and should he have any reason to pass by our gathering, they would have him demonstrate for us, some fascinating cultural 'party tricks'. I took this to mean the usual funny dancing and beating of drums. Little did I know the beast would descend on my friends and allies and try to kill us all. Sadly some mild injuries were sustained but fortunately we were able to quickly neutralize the violent monstrosity and send his body into banishment. It certainly seems my trust in the Banished Pantheons has yet again been betrayed. However, something at the back of my mind suspects foul play. Somebody or something wicked may have angered the beast and lured it onto us. If not something recklessly done for the fun of it, then perhaps this is some kind of cruel political plot, hatched to undermine my reputation among peers and sabotage the respect I've worked so hard to salvage. All angles will be covered while myself and my team investigates.
No longer a safe area for fun and merriment, we retreated to Pocket D for a drink and some socialising. Here the remaining party was joined by Longier, the Countess Elizabeth Bathory, Eciffi, Xyn, Technomancer Tank (Alexia Morgan), Morrighan Spireside, Mobile Turret 219 and one Unforgiven Whisper. After a few drinks the Countess descended to some suspiciously inappropriate behaviour and that for me was the end of the night. In hindsight, I would say it was a most successful start to the Halloween season and tomorrow's events should prove challenging indeed. If last year's occurrences are anything to go by, we can expect zombie invasions, a deadly apocalypse, more giant monsters, an eternal night and door-to-door trick or treating. - Priest -

I'll leave it to CB, as it's his subplot, to have the final stand but I for one would like this debate to not continue solely because everybody has an opinion and if an arguement like this is allowed to go on, here and now, then it may overshadow and embitter the actual RP experience. Kill the fire, end the row and let's go on.

Old Insidium Mines (D5)
Altair was about to respond to the dragon-like creature when a team of vampires suddenly arrived. She watched on as two of them began mouthing off and then fight. The others then proceeded to magically phase through the wall of rubble and into the mines. "Okay" she said, staring at the wall. "That was random."
"Alright everyone, power the aspects of the pillar embedded in your amulets" Priest began. "We'll teleport to the other side of the blockade. We can't let those vampires find Tomb before we do." One by one the two teams disappeared in a yellow streak of light energy, reappearing again discarded all over the Island.
Edge of South Jungle (F11)
Priest appeared buried under some bushes in the jungle, still clutching at his amulet. He looked around and noticed he was all alone. "Oh no" he sighed, rising to his feet and regathering his bearings. Once reorientated, he headed a little further into the jungle. "Come on Tomb, where are you?" he asked out loud. -
Anyway... godmodding aside, think I'll go move my play away from the mines since that's all gone awkward.
-
Quote:Old Insidium Mine (D5)[b]He reached toward Pious and Altair and let his clawed finger dig more letters into the ground. VYACHSLAV KILL TOMB...
Priest was evidently a little disappointed to hear this magnificent dragon was among the others, among those here to harm the little girl. "Right, err... Yak-slav" he began, in a low calming voice. There was a kindness to his tone while at the same time it remained authoritative. "Therein lies our problem. Tomb is a wanted criminal in my home country and it is my job to see that she is brought to Justice in a fair and rightful manner. This includes minimal harm in the process of arrest and apprehension. Put simply, until proven guilty, Tomb is under the protection of the Nighthunters heroic team, extension of the United States Government office of MAGI. You will stand down your threat Vyachslav. Are we clear?"
"I know you can hear me" said Altair, communicating electronically with the cybernetic dragon. "My name is Altair Mary Stevens. I apologise for whatever loss Tomb's bounty-on-monsters may have caused you, but killing a misguided youth is not the answer. It will not relieve you of your pain. Why not direct that energy into bringing her in instead? She will be subjected to a lifetime of mental treatment and maximum imprisonment. I can assure you. Please."
"Ask him what he knows Altair" said the Priest, unable to hear the technopathic messages.
"What will it be Vyachslav?" Altair continued. "Will you disarm and join us? We could work well together, you and I." -
Quote:Old Insidium Mines (D5)D7. A massive hologram formed over the mountain, of the costumed and cowled Tomb. Welcome one and all to my island! The figure reaches off recorder, and picks up a special edition Guitar Superhero controller. Around the island hidden speakers start to broadcast Welcome to the jungle by GunN Roses as the hologram jams along with the game.
D5. Assuming the creature is not much bigger than a JCB, then he should be able to fit, though how far within is anyones guess, the Insidium veins giving false positives on readings of width and depth.
Priest had been observing the creature before him with peaked intrigue and was about to refuse to move away from the mine shaft entrance when Tomb's welcome message and loud music started blaring through hidden speakers. Whether the source of the sound could be traced and then tracked back to it's place of origin was yet to be investigated. As the dragon began fiddling around with something, Priest resumed his arguement.
"Whatever... whoever you are, I'm not moving from here" he began. "We need this entrance intact and I'm afraid your idea of firing on it would only weaken it further and risk a cave-in. My name is Pious Hunter. Why don't you tell us who you are and what you want on this Island? Maybe we can work together."
"Father" Altair called, staring curiously at the creature. "This dragon is technologically weaponised. I may be able to communicate with it technopathically."
