Old Insidium Plant (E4)
Priest hadn't really been listening to Lucard's threats, knowing full well the ex-crime lord Alicia Barzini could avoid a gunshot. He had spent the whole time communicating with and coordinating his team across the island. By now Blade Racer and his team should have reached the Helicarrier on the Eastern cliff. Miranda and Conall had done their jobs, holding Landborough Port and keeping it clear for escape. With Damsel on board, Miranda's submarine should be clear of the Island by now. Suraya and Tyran were invisible, also heading for the Helicarrier.
Pistol and the Priest looked on as Lucard and the Rocket-Girl finally smartened up and lost patience waiting for a confession from the Priest that wouldn't come. The villains uttered their parting threats and fled, though the truth in the girl's last words were not lost on the pious hero. Still, he held his faith fastened in truth, justice and the American way. He had to. Rebellion against the founding, Christian principles of his country was not something he was mentally and morally capable of accepting. Like all boy scouts, his allegiance was to Law and Order.
Priest exchanged a look with his reformed and rehabilitated sister-in-Law, the woman who had once carried out a hit on him and ended his previous life. Her redemption and her decision to leave her criminal past behind was an example of the success of the prison and parole system, a beacon of hope that even Tomb may one day make up for her own crimes, by giving back to society. Pistol understood the signal to leave and speed-boosted the Priest with her kinetic enhancement powers. Her and her posse disappeared in a cloud of dust, heading to the Helicarrier.
Strengthened and enhanced by both the Desert Princess and the Lady Pistol, Priest was glowing with power. With unparalleled speed, he flew Eastward. He would join Tyran's guards and be there on board Tomb's submarine to escort her Stateside and into custody. -
Quote:Old Insidium Plant (E4)"So you seek to betray the Court do you Pious? and your supposed to be the good guys. Tomb is not yours to punish!
Priest had crashed into a deep crater. Even in his unconscious state, the rocks in the ground wrapped around him like a shield. In his sleep he could feel something cosy and warm energising his body like a hot cup of tea on a winter's day. His eyes opened slowly to the vampiric Courtier known as Lucard seemingly holding him and the surrounding Nighthunters at gun point. As he rose to his feet, he felt Lucard turn his hand and fire. Not knowing the shot was aimed elsewhere, Priest coated himself in an armour of granite rock. He turned his head and followed the direction of the shot. The rocket-girl had fired again, but interestingly, Lucard had saved him. Or perhaps it was an act of power and control. Either way Priest decided to lower his armour, an act of pacifism.
"The terms of our agreement was rather vague" he began, speaking not to reason with the unreasonable but to buy himself time to reorientate with the situation at hand, "My choice of words were thus; what happens to Tomb is not up to me personally, all I wish is that we get her. That is to say, it is up to the United States Court of Law and not me personally. So as far as I'm concerned, the deal was to get Tomb and destroy the anti-vampire weapon. As fate would have it, the blood virus will perish with the Island. As luck would have it, Tomb walked straight into my hands, or rather, my elevator."
Standing up tall and resuming a confident posture, Priest sent a private message to both Suraya and Pistol then watched the surrounding villains. "The little girl is coming with me, okay? She needs help, she needs to feel a little love, not hate. Like every other American citizen, she is innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law. If you have a problem with that, take it up with your local State Governors, not me. I'm just a priest. Hope that clears things up, Lucard, was it?" -
Exorcising demons, banishing evil spirits and generally breaking things Priest does well.
But when it comes to squaring up with actual people, he -will- bore you to death with a sermon on peace and love, m'kay?
-
Yup. That would likely be Damsel's handiwork at misdirection. Either way, it's up to CB now what the next play for Tomb is. I suggest you wait until he posts.
-
Damsel is alone btw. Tomb is not there.
-
Ooooh Priest is surrounded and outnumbered. Being the little schemer he is, he knows where he's had Tomb stole away to. I feel a fight coming on.
Tyran is out cold, which leaves Pistol and her thugs. The 10-man posse are redshirts so do as you please with them. Suraya plz get in there and save the day! -
Quote:"This is gonna sound corny as flip, but... say hello to my little friend!" And then she opened fire, sending the rocket screaming toward the lift.Quote:he saw the missile aimed right at them... though he was absolutely livid with what Pious had done, instinct kicked in. "GET OUT OF THE WAY!!"Quote:Although moved to a safe distance, she kept sight of Pious, ready to chase after the man with all her speed should he attempt to fly away.Quote:unless the Priest or someone did something now - they'd be directly caught in the explosion and smashed to the earth as useless hunks of metal.
Old Insidium Plant (E4)
Priest was so focused on getting attention away from the escaping Damsel that he couldn't see or tell what was happening below. He thought he heard someone yelling 'get out of the way' so he turned his attention earthward and noted the utterer was an unknown blonde. He was surprised to also see a hooded girl and a green-veined man. Had they been inside the lift? Damsel had failed to mention there were other passengers on board the Priest Elevator Airline. He had wondered why the thing was so much heavier than calculated. By the time it had become apparent why the man was yelling, it was too late to evade.
Priest looked on with shock horror as a missile collided with the two machines he had seen earlier, causing an explosion that ricochetted with such a massive shockwave it cancelled out the Priest's own energy propellant flight and sent him careening towards the ground, momentarily stunned and disoriented. -
Quote:Somehow I wrote 'near the speed of light' instead of sound. She's gone supersonic, speeding at just over 600 mph, I believe the sound barrier is about 768.Though I have to ask...if she ran that fast, how come she didn't time warp?
Not that the mode of getaway makes any difference when everyone else is also super. Just using the superspeed travel method because it makes most sense. -
Glad you're happy now TA. Sorry you've read anythign patronising in my words. Again, nothing intentional.

Quote:I'm presuming you're assuming that I'm assuming this that and the other. We all know assumption's the mother of all hicups. Look, Dev is right, have patience. It's been established that the ferals and Nightwalker have sensory lock on Tomb, even the Exos follow heat trail, so why not do the common thing like Blade for example in his post. Either way, Damsel has Tomb in a fireman's hold, sped out of the elevator and is racing to shore. She is currently East-Northeast by the North Jungle. Priest has the elevator and is currently stalling, hovering over the Plant. Bit of uneccessary OOC info for you to use IC there but as always, being forced to offer you all explanations, hope that answers your question. I am at work right now and can't really post until I get back home but still... let the chase begin!Yeah, that's kinda what I object to. Because it's assuming, wrongly, that absolutely no one else has a chance of following her.
And CD, yes feel free to play with that move. -
Quote:Old Insidium Plant (E4)...the only result of Pious' stopping was a duplication thereof by the machines. They didn't spread their arms of course, instead only staring blankly at the Pries through unmoving optics. It seemed they were confused, waiting for what he would do next...
The momentary confusion proved invaluable as Priest back-flipped into the open elevator shaft, allowing himself to fall through onto the box just as his wife entered and looked up at him, giving him the signal. With superb strength, the Priest tugged at the elevator cables and flew straight up through the steel and concrete ceiling of the elevator shaft. With the box airborne and dangling from the cables held tightly within his grip, Priest flew Eastward, away from the all-consuming tentacles and toward the Island shores. Pistol, Tyran and the army of thugs were still on the battlefield, providing cover fire and trying their best to distract the others from spotting the escaping elevator box. Interestingly, it's doors were still half open, even as the Priest flew closer to the ground.
At this point, those inside the lift would notice Damsel and the kidnapped little girl was nowhere to be seen. The extraction manoeuvre was working. -
Quote:Old Insidium Plant (E4)The second and third were deftly on the move however, and had by now entered what remained of the plant structure proper... the two heading in the general direction of the elevator...
The armed T.R.I.N.N.I.T.Y machine emptied its missiles upon the building but Priest left that up to Tyran and Jack Wolfe to deal with. He had to secure the elevator. In the blink of an eye, the holy man was gone, speeding through the plant in a burst of wind. To him, time had slowed to a crawl and every movement left a trail of heat and air where disturbances occurred. He slowed to a jog when he had raced past the two robots and turned to face them, arms outstretched and placed in their paths so as to use their own momentum against them in a knock-down attack commonly referred to as a clothes line. -
Quote:Old Insidium Plant (E4)"Miranda, Conall" Priest began, communicating with the Port team through his amulet. He sent them a secret message. [color=yellow] "Pistol, this is Priest. Relay to Tombslayer to prepare the helicarrier, what's your location?" Pistol replied and the Nighthunter's team began their formation.
Fully healed but still hidden in shadows, Priest slid shut his cellphone and ended a call from Altair. She had given him the Intel he needed. He wondered though what lucrative business attracted what he thought was a failing organisation, T.R.I.N.N.I.T.Y to this place, at this particular time. Perhaps it was a motive similar to almost every other villain currently on the Island; vengeance on Tomb, the killer of St. John. His thought process was suddenly interrupted as two aesthetically-challenged machines passed by, heading towards the elevators. Then his mind buzzed with a message from Damsel. She swears to have the target in sight. He had been told by the man over the speakers that Tomb was here at the Plant but he didn't expect her to be that easily accessed. He wasn't ready and nothing so far was going according to plan. This was bad. This was very bad.
"Miranda, Conall" Priest began, communicating with the Port team and every other Nighthunter present through his amulet. "Prepare the submarine. If you haven't secured the beach, don't worry. I have confirmation that our last helicarrier is prep'd and ready for take-off. Just get to your sub and assume your stations. Exit strategy is in play. I repeat, exit strategy is in play. Blade, Suraya... listen to me, we have a lock on the primary target. I'm not sure if the Court have dealt with our secondary objective, the blood virus, but Tomb is here right now, at the Insidium Plant. Tyran, Damsel and I are on it but Suraya, we need you here for cover. Blade, get Buzz and Maria and head to the Eastern shores. The chopper is prep'd and ready for take-off. I repeat, get to the chopper!"
Just then, a woman with a foreboding presence marched out onto the plains surrounding the plant, wearing the Nighthunter's Armour. The bruiser called Tombslayer, aka Axel Hunter, marched out with her. This was the helicarrier team, part of the Priest Corps. A flamer call Sinn, aka Samuel Hunter, followed shortly behind. Two enforcers Jacob and Jason Hunter marched out, followed by two younger thugs. Then without warning, a ten-strong posse of armed thugs stepped out onto the plains to join the assembly. The gang of eighteen, armed to the teeth, now surrounded the war-zone that was the Old Insidium Plant in a circular fashion. With a signal from the woman, they opened fire on the building. Essentially providing a distraction for escape. Meanwhile, she thought she saw something in the corner of her eye. Investigating, she turned her head in the direction of the swamp-green mechanoid. -
Quote:Old Insidium Plant (E4)...drawing raw mineral energy from the very Earth was resting against. He rested, watching Tyran's feral attack.
Priest hoped Tyran would be able to successfully disarm the mechanical onslaught. He clutched his amulet and sent a message to Altair Stevens the technopath who was now far away on her way back to the States with Sentinel and Hellskiller's helicarrier ride. "Altair, this is Priest. I need you to run a search on this logo, I've taken a screenshot with my PDA. Sending it over to you now. Report back and let me know how the retreating team's doing." Altair acknowledged the request and started work on tracing the logo. With remote military-grade access to information databases, how soon would she identify the owner of the weaponised Lance machine? "Miranda, Conall" Priest began, communicating with the Port team through his amulet. He sent them a secret message. "Blade, Suraya" he thought out, sending them a different private message. "Pistol, this is Priest. Relay to Tombslayer to prepare the helicarrier, what's your location?" Pistol replied and the Nighthunter's team began their formation. -
Wait... what? o.O Nighthunters, quickly!
"GET TO DA CHOPPER!" -
Quote:Old Insidium Plant (E4)"Hostile Threat Detected. Strike with the Scorpian's Sting!". It follows this with a sudden swipe with both swords once more into the building, directly towards Pious' position.
"There's a seemingly comatose man welded within the machine Tyran" said Priest, communicating through his amulet. "And no mechanical weaknesses as far as I can see. I do have one idea that might work thou-" he continued, but his thought message was suddenly cut short. Two large electrified katana blades had just sliced through the wall and left an open gash through the Priest's armour and his chest. He escaped the attack path and retreated into a nearby shadow before commencing to heal himself once again, drawing raw mineral energy from the very Earth was resting against. He rested, watching Tyran's feral attack. -
Old Insidium Plant (E4)
Priest had flown back up through the elevator shaft and reached the plant. He followed the sounds of battle and trail of fire to the East wall where he noticed a giant robot/golem(?) slicing away at the building. He stood there on the inside part of the wall and watched the monstrosity, trying to identify it's motives. "Tyran, lets focus on disarming those rockets" said Priest, thinking through his amulet. "Slice off its shoulder mounts. I'll check to see if it's manned." With that, Priest heated his eyes again and sent a direct volley of x-ray radiation at the thing, attempting to look through it at it's inner workings.
Were there any persons within? An obvious mechanical weakness? Manufacturer's product/model data or company logos? -
Beneath the Old Insidium Plant (E4)
Priest walked up to the Northward doors and waited patiently for it to slide open.
Nothing.
He waited a little longer, waving his arms to trigger whatever sensors might have been fitted there.
Nothing.
He sighed defeated and sent a message to his wife over the amulet. "I'm locked out. But you don't need me. You can do it, go with the Crey's Folly strategy, alright? I'll be waiting for you right here by the doors. Although there's another situation in the plant above. Either way, I won't be too far away. Stay in touch" he finished, before having a worrying afterthought. "I love you" he added solemnly, before heading back up through the elevator to help Tyran Gar. -
Quote:"No problem" said Priest, handing over the woman's odd choice of weapons. He exited into the room with the four doors and purple column and then turned to the lady. "I'll be honest with you. I'm not sure what's beyond these doors but my wife's inside this one here. She's in trouble and its up to me to save her. I didn't catch your name, but I think this is where we part. Be careful with those there candles" he warned, before turning towards the Northward doors.Below the plant (E4)... "Cheers, hun." Patsy thanked the man with a smirk as she collected her stuff from him. "You're a star."
Silently he hoped the woman would give her name or something he could follow up on. -
Quote:Beneath the Old Insidium Plant (E4)E4. The rockets impacted with the building, sending a wave of energy and fire into the building, leaving a large hole in the east wall where they impacted. The lance could be seen clearly through the hole as it moved closer, almost upon the building, ready to begin sheering into it with its massive katana blades.
Priest had jumped down into the elevator and forced open the doors when the walls began to shake. He felt the shockwave and the sudden heat and registered something big had happened back at the plant. He looked skyward and held up his arms to the rocket-girl offering to carry her down. As he did so, he sent a message to his team-mates above via the Nighthunter's amulet.
"Tyran please report" he asked. "Did the Court attack? Sorry I can't come back and help, but it seems my wife is pinned down in an arena hidden beneath this plant. It sounds strange I know, but nothing on this Island has made much sense so far. I have to reach her. Can you handle the situation alone?" -
I've not ignored it. That would be bad role-playing. I don't do bad role-playing, despite what you may or may not think TA. Priest is inside the building so he wouldn't see the missiles coming. It's up to Blade to write how much destruction the missiles do to the building, if they hit. Then I can freely have my character react to the building being destroyed. So far, there is nothing he can actually react to concerning the missiles. Hope that's clear enough an explanation for you.

Quote:Old Insidium Plant (E4)Patsy waited, wondering who had been following her, peering over the lip of the shaft to see for herself without getting spotted. Hopefully.
Following the directions Damsel was relaying to him over his amulet, Priest turned a corner into another room and followed through a narrow corridor that lead to an open elevator. He peered down, wondering what had happened to the lift. At the bottom he locked eyes with the woman he'd seen earlier brandishing rockets. He noticed the shaft was small in size, a fairly deep hole in the ground barely wide enough to hold four people. Slowly, he floated down to the woman.
"Nice fireworks" he complimented, landing on the lift and peeling off the emergency exit hatch. "What exactly do you plan on doing with it?" -
I think so. Heh. Could just say she entered the plant from a different area to them and found the elevator corridor and the elevator shaft first.
-
Quote:"The peace agreement still stands Jack" said the Priest. "You and the Countess have come to destroy the anti-vampire virus and I think that's only fair. I didn't sign up for monster hunting to carry out or condone genocidal ethnic cleansing. Of the Vampiric race or other. Now as far as I know, my team have not yet found the viral blood-contaminative weapon, we're still looking." He turned to Tyran. "Please 'watch' our Court friends here while I take a look around the plant".E4, the Old Insidium Plant. Jack gave a soft growl before answering... "You are right Holy man!" He hold up his hand to stop one of the zombies in the back from attacking the Priest. "So you are here too... figures! You will not stop me in my task though, not this time!"
With that, he disappeared through another room. -
I hear they're dice rolls. The higher the number the better the Bosses success rate. The lower the number, the less successful the Boss is.
Thankfully, the Ox guy scored only 5 trying to sense out Damsel, so yay Team Damsel! Keep hiding! : p
