Moth Cathedral, Dark Astoria.
Wednesday. The reverend Pious Hunter was still severely weakened from his power-siphoning ordeal at the hands of Lord Memphis. He was successfully captured during a friendly spar with the battle-hardened Ray Hammerfall and had to be rescued by his faithful Nighthunters. Of course he was already comatose and remained unconscious for three months until the recent Praetorian Invasion. Now, he was in the churchyard practising his meditative forms of prayer. His silent mutterings were like words of magic slowly returning to him to fighting form. He would need his strength if he was to return to lead the Nighthunters once again this Wednesday night. The city was in a bad state following the invasion and there was much work to be done. -
What are people planning with hotels? I feel most comfortable going with the same as last time Paragon Hotel and they're only asking £50 for Saturday night.
I thought they were pretty convenient and the rooms were stylish. I think Mr_Mac stayed there too. But otherwise, I mean, has anyone found a better deal? -
Welcome Eisenheim. I'm a Unionite myself and have tried out the Boards/Forumverse RP which seems to be a segment of it's own.
I also intend on visiting Virtue soon enough. Try both servers and see how you like it. They're both as similar as they are different. -
Well I missed the majority of the event due to a certain frustrating shopper in RL. *cough* Damsel *cough* >:
When I did manage to get back home from Croydon, the lag in-game was too much and the zones were full and locked down. -
Glittergirl and Price headed back downstairs once the church leaders and their congregation had been lead away into the care of Sister Mary Stevens. Once down there they saw their father stood by a pregnant Damsel and armed for battle. "Don't worry Dad" said Price. "We've taken care of it. They're all gone."
Something didn't sit right with the way he'd said that and the Priest actually picked up on it. His gaze lingered on the boy for a while before looking back to his closest friend and ally. "All right I'll heed your advise Adam. I'll take the wife and kid home. Speak to Altair if you need to reach me, she'll know where I am." He looked once again at the young Price before opening a nearby door that seemed to lead to nowhere. "The Praetorians are going to be a problem Adam. Alert the Nighthunters of my return and tell them I'll be in touch very soon." Without further ado, the man and his family stepped through. Door shutting behind them. -
Quote:Not yet. I suppose we aught to make one, as opposed to shouting over our various OOC global channels.
Is there currently any kind of IC radio channel for all characters involved to use during the "invasion"? -
I'm at work tonight Eric so won't be able to attend any meetings if planned for today. I will of course be around for a pre-invasion meeting on Wednesday 11th.
After which I will promptly pack my PC away ready for a home move Thursday morning.
A post-invasion debrief sounds good. Would be cool to have an IC TF run at some point though. Never done Apex or TM. Fudge as recon missions maybe? -
Let's not ruin the mood with all this talk. None of that stuff is actually important.
What are people wanting as a follow-up after the invasion? In-character BAF/Lamba/other TF runs? If so, how's Saturday May 14th?
And what would be a good explanation for linking in one of these TF's? Call some fudge and pull it off as a retaliatory attack? -
Quote:Ditto. I certainly didn't want to make another mistake of this.
Zori called for a chair person to nominate themselves because she didn't want to seem in charge, and I didn't want to seem in charge.
I agree that the whole meeting went well. And I actually found the earlier bickering thoroughly amusing. -
Quote:He may be from the universe of that new comicbook-adaptation movie called Priest? Looks like an interesting watch but the original pages look way better.
Give everyone chance. ¬_¬ Also, Tech, if your priest happens to be from some semi-secret Vatican organisation with serious beef with a certain gun-wielding vamp with an oversized bow tie, I will slap you.
The comicbook storyline already has me gripped. I may purchase a copy.
Anyway, there is one guy currently sleeping in one of the penthouse bedrooms down the hall who I'll be playing later if Mirel lets us make it to morning. -
Quote:With expert grace the girls sidestep the small telekinetic pushing force. "Missed me" one of them cackled, putting away the high-powered sidearm and resuming her happy routine. "You're right. You're way too lame to be a threat. Hey you wanna see me body-pop? I literally just learnt it."...palm faced the duo and sending out a very small blast of Force their way... "We're not your enemy, you are under no threat from us."
"We like, got dropped outta the sky" the other one explained, ignoring her body-popping partner. "What about you?" -
Quote:If she sensed out camera equipment, they're not hidden or designed for spying, they're just there. CCTV are fitted in the corners of each room save the sleeping quarters. For security reasons, data from door scanners are held with Government for study. If she's sensing out observers, well there is the two young girls in the common room dancing over by the television, probably a chef in the kitchen and a tender at the self-service bar filling up barrels and cleaning mugs.
So I guess Mirel either didn't find any stuff spying on them, or found all of it by now then maybe? -
Quote:The agents didn't go in after them. With full access to scan data, CCTV (magically-interrupted as they were) and undercover agents serving within the base, they figured they didn't need to. They had work to do in locating Mechano, clearing up his mess and finding the remaining dimensionally displaced individuals."Well now, since we're all here in a moment of peacetime before the next major crisis..." she continued. "Might as well get to know one another"
Meanwhile inside the safehouse, the two girls had been dancing erratically, busting out breakdance moves and occasionally yelling "everyday I'm shuffling" to the now-showing MTV favourite Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO. Their party however was suddenly cut short as people started to gather on the nearby sofas.
"Woah! Hey!" one of them yelled. "Who the heck are you guys?"
The other reached for a concealed firearm. "Don't be shi*ting us neither, 'cos we work for Batman!" -
We can have more than just the one meeting. I'm at work Monday night so I can only make tonight.
-
It's a good plan. Heavy Praetorian losses is a believable enough explanation for such a short-lived inva- erm, visit. We could then follow up with cross-SG BAF/Lamda runs if we wanted, well after Wednesday, as we did with the MMB Project/Lady Grey TF during Big Lunk's Anti-Rikti Council of War? Maybe?

Quote:The paramedics looked on with shock horror as the dragon burnt away what was left of the police detective's corpse. The female agent's face was a full picture of disbelief. "You do realise what you just did what utterly stupid and uncalled for. This lady was evaluating that body for evidence, as could other departments of forensic science. That poor man's family might have even wanted him buried in the ground, not burnt into the ether. This is precisely the kind of cultural differences and misunderstandings that we're trying to manage. Whether you like it or not, we're going to keep following you and keep an eye on you at all times. Rogers, get them out of my sight." With that, she teleported out. Rogers fixed a device to the ground that opened a small teleportation beacon for the group of displaced foreigners to enter through. He could see some of them were getting impatient.
...the Detective's remains burned away in his hands, glittering embers of blue-white luminance flitting away to join the stars in the sky...
"Alright people, you heard the lady" he added. "Express journey to Founders Falls. Never mind one-at-a-time, just jump in!"
Once inside the common room's entrance hall, the first impression of the interiors was warm and homely with painted walls, bare bricks, tall fibreglass windows, wooden floorboards, carpets and rugs here and there and complimented with a fireplace, plants and greenery and black/silver technological appliances. Entrants would be welcomed by a security point with a gated door and palm-scanners. Beyond the gate was the open bar and common room. A long set of sofas sat at one end with the widescreen TV currently tuned in to MTV music channel. Two punk-haired dark-skinned thirteen-year old girls in short jeans and vests would be seen messing around and dancing to electro-pop music by Black Eyed Peas. Clearly the government agents had already housed some of the Kings Row interdimensional refugees who had not been in the Crab or Gunman battles.
Back at the secure door, the palm-scanner displays read 'Welcome to Accommodations Floor. Please present your palm for fingerprints and DNA sampling'. -
Cool. Glad we're still on for it anyway. At this rate, with all the different characters, their alignments and their perspectives, the RP and fiction pieces might actually be way more exciting than the 3-hour scuffle or it's incredibly lame badge.
-
Quote:Kay. Might as well keep the tomorrow meeting then. And have a second one, a 'prep' talk sort of thing an hour before it all kicks off?
Wednesday is my busy night. I don't get time for play until shortly before 9. -
Quote:Yeah.
It's not even one day though, is it? It's a THREE HOUR war...
It's really quite rubbish. I guess if the plans stay this way (a 6pm - 9pm battle) then we could have the meeting just before then.
Wednesday 11th, an hour of RP before the fighting starts. That sound alright with folks? -
Quote:Exactly.
Don't they realize a one day only event will grieve a lot of players who might not be able to make that one day?!
Up to peeps if they still want this meeting to go ahead. I think we could still squeeze some RP out of this. Even if it is just a one-day-war. -
They really hate roleplayers, don't they?
-

...addressing the group of heroes; notably the Outsider. "We've acquired the Intel you're getting at Miss. Jacub and his brother were an only threat.
In addition to Techbot's protectors, this adds another investigation to the list of possible arcs for a later time. -
Quote:The other male agent, who was a touch more down to earth, was the first to remove his glasses. He approached the woman still clutching her swords. "You're right to be suspicious. In a world where nothing comes free, our gift would seem too good a thing. But look at it from our perspective. Our job is to maintain public safety and uphold a system of order. To do that, we have to keep an eye on you guys and what better way than to house you ourselves and fund your heroic careers. Besides, asylum seekers always get the best deals."
“Well I for one like the sound of that” Mirel glanced around at everyone else... / "Alright then," she sighed "Derek and I would like to take you up on that offer." / Ildela almost laughed at that. "No offense, but I'm going to have to politely decline. As good as that sounds, it sounds too good. Thus either it's a blatant trap or there's a catch you're not telling us. So which is it?"
Agent Rogers pipped in to help calm the suspicious heroes. "He's right you know. Our government loves to pamper foreigners. Sure it's just another system of control, but what system isn't? Your penthouse base will be tracked and monitored, as will your hero ID but that's in the interest of public safety. Don't worry, there are privacy parameters set in place for you. Surely you understand?" Rogers turned to the sword-wielding woman with his trademark smile. "Ildela right? Founders Falls is not a trap. We can teleport you guys to your base right now and show you around at least. What do you say?"
Quote:...the dragon tried to coax the human's soul back from the realm of the spirits... It didn't always work. But sometimes, when a spirit was still with mind but without body, and the hero yearned to fulfill the task...well, then all it took was but a simple touch. A touch. Of Destiny... -
