  1. Sword raised high above his head, Pious leapt through the air and impalled the beast at the small of the neck. It screamed with rage but more from annoyance than pain. Even the blows to it's head and arms didn't seem to be stopping his ascent. Pious yanked his sword deeper into the spinal cord and raced around the monster's neck, bringing the blade full circle to completely remove the head entire. "Ah! That's the idea!" said Pious triumphantly, as the head slowly creaked, threatening to topple off.
  2. The doctors at Croatoa's medical centre had their work cut out and were eager to discharge the checked and healthy. The wife of Mister Norman had been called with news of her husband's safety. Overjoyed, the elderly woman had hurried over to his bedside, accompanied by the mayor and an Estonian lady who had been carrying out research over the missing persons. Margret had been crying her eyes puffy and had fallen asleep in a nearby chair, opening her eyes every now and then to make sure Nathan hadn't ran into the forest again. "There was a man who brought us here, he was masked" said Nathan, grogily. "But he must have gone back to the forest. Didn't get a chance to thank him, he just... disappeared."

"Yes, I er... I sent out a team to find you Mister Norman" said the mayor, proudly. "But I hadn't imagined them to bring back all these missing people." He sighed, worriedly. "If they're still in the forest, what's keeping them?"

Those were the good old days of RP PvP. I tried to set one up a couple months ago and it almost worked, until DXP hit that same weekend. After the Xmas event and before Valentines, I think I'll try it again. Maybe we could plan it together Alpha. As for the EU/NA differences, reasons have already been exhausted but personally, I think it's down to the natural Unionverse/Forumverse divide. Theres not a lot you can do about that, EU and NA players can and do RP together on the Forumverse but some plots bound to the Union server will spill out to here and thats where the Unionverse tags come in. Lastly, I don't think EU forum roleplayers leave plots unGM'ed. Looks like Grey's example was a one-time mishap. Like Mechano said, we pretty much all play the game together and RP together so our threads tend to have more structural freedom, which I think is only a good thing, it encourages wild ideas and creativity. Anyway, maybe the answer to the alienting problem of EU/NA forum RP'ers is more Forumverse plots like the short-lengthed Boomtown Blues story and ongoing ones like Superhero 102. *Goes off to thought-shower*
  4. Pious tried to remain cool and collected as he was knocked unfashionably off his feet and onto his back by a large unearthed arm with rotting flesh and a foul odour like the smell of death. He clampered back to his feet as a wave of light shot from a friendly in the skies and knocked the zombies to their feet, to be incinerated by Hellhog's powerful fireball.

"Good work!" bellowed Pious, finally impressed at the show of efficiency. "That's the minions dealt with! Now let us not allow this giant to reach the surface, remove his arms, shoot him in the head, do something, anything, but make it permanent. I'm not sure we can handle a monstrous elite boss at it's full height." Just then, Nightmare slammed both his arms onto the earth, causing it to quake violently, before lifting his full head up and through the dirt, his eyes a soulless yellow ball of puss, mud and squirming earthworms. "Now!" yelled Pious, producing a large glistening metal broadsword. "Find a weakspot and take it out quickly!"

As the girl uttered the last word, a loud rumbling roar bellowed from the earth beneath. A large arm the size of a car shot up from the ground and began thrashing about wildly. "Naaiitteemareeeeee" grumbled the undead zombies, rushing along to help the arm out of the ground. As they pulled, the collective force brought forth a shoulder, then another arm protruded, followed by what appeared to be the top of a giant zombie head.
  6. Great fun the other night by the way. I can't wait to get our hands on the Winter Horde. I reckon it'll make a good plot for us this month.
  7. Anticipating some sort of blinding flash of aerial light. Pious covered his eyes instinctively.
  8. After a couple minutes of meditation, the reverend snapped open his eyes and came back to attention, his abilities now shifted from pulsar energy to spacetime. He noticed his invisibility was slowly fading and quickly dove into the mound of victims. He concentrated all of his energy into the ball of palms, using every ounce of his strength to create a miniscule singularity and draw a wormhole through spacetime. Reality seemed to ripple and bend in juxtaposition as Pious disappeared, vanishing along with him the stolen peoples of Salamanca, including the prone body of Mister Norman. At the hospital, electricity sparked and danced around violently as reality angled awkwardly in all directions, before suddenly, two dozen unconscious men and women crashed landed onto the carpeted lobby. The angel's healing touch seemed to have done the trick because one by one, the victims of the unseelie frenzy began to wake, staggering to their feet. Pious quickly briefed the doctors on the situation before teleporting back to the heroes in the forest. "I got them away" he panted, crash landing into the muddy floor. "They're safe at the hospital now."
  9. Alright, I've writen a wiki style diary for us to use. Nighthunter's Diary, check it out, write up a mission recap when you can.
  10. If I make a diary on the wiki, should we all add our stories, plots and mission reports in there? Something through which we can all share our learnt lessons, acquired knowledge and tell about our adventures, both for character and player benefit.
  11. Pious noted his teammates quickly and effeciently getting to work. It was hard work peering at invisible people but he managed to see a light-based djinn stand guard of the victims as the Arabic woman snuck around. The team's Angel was the first to spot Norman's body and ran to the rescue while her counterpart initiated an attack on the spirits. The gunwoman gleefully followed suit with silver bullets and Pious took the opportunity to strike, lobbing a volley of explosive light over the unseelie. The hungry spirits vanished quickly from the force of the blinding discs and the Fallen's attacks without putting up much of a fight. Yet suddenly, the army of zombies took to arms and began opening fire at anything that moved. Rusted bullets sprayed aimlessly across the forest, some ricochetted off the generated force field but a few reached the mound of sleeping people, piled up on the muddy earth. "No!" screamed Pious, "come on, get these people out of here! Who can teleport? How many of us can teleport?"
  12. Pious arrived on the scene and couldn't believe his eyes. Stolen people had been piled together on the forest floor, unconscious, as what appears to be their life essence is sucked away by the unseelie spirits. "Dear God" he whispered, praying silently. "No, look for mister Norman first, if we find him, then you can engage the unseelie" said Pious, explaining his mission plan for the hunters nearby to hear. "The distraction alone should give us ample time to get him out of here. That is our priority, after that, you can do with the undead what you like."

  14. Alright Liz. Meanwhile, we should go over some things before the meeting. It is at the end of Seeketh the Legions missions, that the team recieves a "job offer" to be Nighthunters and obviously they'll ultimately agree. Secondly, to find a way for us all to communicate, monitor each other's health and location, I was gonna suggest a permanent "temp power" mission reward called the Nighthunter's Amulet. So it's a magic talisman that allows the appointed wearer to communicate with other Nighthunters by thought, when he or she wishes. It should empathically trace the health and location of all team members who have it on, that way, if one of us is ever attacked, it makes sense that others will automatically turn up to assist. This means IC, pretty much every chat channel message would be a mental broadcast, public or private, except local chat. So, amulet or radios?
  15. Turning Point - Talenar, Pious, Damsel, Arkeela and Xariel, Hellhog, Surayah and Ava Sixx enter the forest, unseen.
    • Clues: Within, two dozen Salamancan people are lined up like cattle, unconscious as their souls are drunk by Unseelie.
    • Clues: You recognise one old man at the back of the queue matching the Mayor's description of Mr Nathaniel Norman.
    • Clues: The hungry unseelie are guarded by an army of undead zombies, each seriously armed with artillery.
  16. Shall we meet nearby the train station in Croatoa, as if we had just finished the Seeketh the Legions missions. I'll release clues for the next stage.

Rising Action - Seeing an entrance into the Forest of Dread, the hunters plan to infiltrate.
    • Clues: A trail of unseelie spirits lead deep into the forest, all the way to the last room of the forest map.
    • Notes: In-game references 'last room' and 'forest map' used to better describe the specifics of location.

"We'll beat something for information, but first, lets get up there and sneak past the unseelie" said Pious, unseen and recognisable only from his voice. "They're guarding something and I'll bet my seven swords on it, it's got something to do with our missing man, now come on!" That said, footprints marked the muddy earth as Pious moved fast up the hills and towards the forest.

"That's a good idea" said Pious, squinting eastwards at the forest. "Its not an assault mission, its a search and rescue. Do it, hide us from sight."
  19. Sounds like Thursday's perfect for most people then? 7:30 meet for an 8pm start.
  20. Initial Incident - Gordon Bower called Talenar, Hellskeeper, Pious, Damsel, Arkeela and Xariel, Hellhog, Surayah and others to find Mr Norman.
    • Clues: Mrs Norman last saw her husband heading into the Forest of Dread.
    • Clues: A good look towards the edge of the forest reveals a wall of Unseelie guarding an entrance.

"I'm afraid he didn't say much at all" replied the old lady. "He just leapt out of his chair and rushed off into the forest, no reasoning, no explanation."

As the old lady spoke, Pious produced a pair of binoculars from under his cloak and raised them to his eyes. He scanned eastward, towards the edge of the forest. All he could see were tall trees and a strange foreboding shape looming from the darkness. "What in God's name?" Pious remarked, thinking aloud more than anything. "Guys, take a look at this" he said, before blindly throwing the binoculars into the circle of gathered hunters for someone to catch. "Look eastward, what do you make of that thing?"
  22. We can start meeting in-game from 7:30 (GMT) onwards maybe?
  23. That's it, we are now officially registered! I'll be about this week sending invites. When shall we meet for our first in-game RP, Wednesday night?

"Please, I'm desperate for your help" the woman began. "My husband went out into the Forest of Dread just after midnight, yesterday. I have no idea what could have possessed him to do such a stupid thing. One moment we were sitting inside, round the fire, and the next, he leaps from the sofa and rushes into the forest. Oh dear God, please keep him safe, I can't bare the thought of something happening to him."

"There are all manner of monsters in that forest" said the mayor, addressing the heroes, "Fea creatures like Red Caps, Fir Bolgs, Tuatha de Dannan, even spirits and unseelie in the Halloween months. I've also heard of vampire sightings, werewolves, ghosts and even zombies, you'll have to be careful guys. But if you're going to do something, please do it quickly. Mrs Norman and others of Salamanca need some good news."
