Ohhh cool beans Garjzla. I'll check it out when next I'm in-game.

On to Kasha-the-Lizard-Rat's perfect question. I'll answer it OOC before I do so IC. For obvious reasons, we'll use the Hell settings similar to does presented in-game. That is the lava-esque landscapes found in Bat'Zul Hell or the Cavern of Transcendence. How are we getting down there? Tramontane's last post was so spot-on it made me lol. I will PM Devious Me about some things I had in mind concerning manoeuvring the Hell realms, since his character will be the acting guide. Just a little something involving a market-place and a tour-map seller.

2 How does light control sound? like an angelic dude
Yeah go for it. Dark/Dark scrapper Virgil or even the light 'controller'. Sounds like a peacebringer with bright white warshade powers.

    My turn.

    1. Name: Reverend Pious Hunter aka The Priest (or Elliangellelli)

    2. Species: Angelspawn

    3. Physical: Tall, male with caramel-brown skin and white hair. Often dressed in a black/white stealthy ninja-style armour.

    4. Power: Can enter limbo to switch between a variety of elemental and telepathic abilities as well as combat weapons.

    5. Skills: Wields two modified handguns (Colt Model 1877 with a .41 Long Colt cartridge), a massive XM8 assault rifle (customised) and several swords.

    6. Limitations: Must exit a realm in order to switch powers or weapon. Powers can only affect an immediate radius of twenty-feet.

    6. Weakness: Human physiology is prone to exhaustion, unconsciousness and mortal wounds. Though permanent death is unlikely.

    7. Reason: Friend of Tyrone Gar; Brother-in-Law to Alicia Barzini; Nighthunter; MAGI-affiliate sent to aid on the mission.

  3. United States Government Office of MAGI. The Modern Arcane Guild of Investigations. June 2010.

Azuria stood in the middle of the MAGI office within the City Hall in Atlas Park. She was surrounded by representatives of the Paragon City Police Department, the Midnight Squad, the Nighthunters, affiliates of MAGI and a few independent heroes, who had all responded to a call for assistance.

"Thank you all for coming at such short notice" Azuria begun, handing out case files. "Yesterday, a police motorcade escorting an ex-felon was attacked by an unknown assailant. MAGI has been to the scene of the crime and our conclusion, as supported by the Midnight Squad mages, is that the front car was translocated to the Netherworlds. The case files being passed to you contain the full details of your quest and your team members, including names, powers and limitations. I cannot emphasise more how important it is that you know the following fact; going down into hell is the easy part. Getting back out is almost impossible but we're working on it. This is a potentially suicidal mission, your task, should you accept it, is to Journey to the Netherworld and bring back Officer James Neil, ex-felon Alicia Barzini and her immortal son Antonio Gar. You will be assisted by Midnight Squad mages and PPD robots. Any questions?"

OOC: This is a short open-RP story for anyone interested.

OOC: It is a continuation of the Revelation of Alicia Barzini plot and discussions can take place on this OOC thread: Journey to the Netherworld OOC
  4. "Tyger" replied Pious, putting his cellphone to his ear. "Everything okay?"

    ((RP Questions))

    1. I don't use first person view for the same three reasons mentioned. Movement (my characters are agile IC), surrounding enemies (my characters have peaked senses IC) and emotes. I have to see what actions they're performing or I might loose track of the RP. I swing my camera around alot (keybound to right mouse-button) to focus on certain action sequences from the front angles so I will often use the first person camera to reset back to the default shoulder cam.

    2. I'm always fully immersed and try to limit OOC chat to globat channels. Even on a non-RP team or when solo, I enjoy staying in the mindsets of my characters; the naive priest who is half-human half-angel or his often hostile but definately street-wise female sidekicks. Hope that helps.

Also, I find removing as much of the UI (user interface) as I can manage really helps with immersion. Having only the power-tray and health-bars up not only clears the screen but I find it makes the whole CoX experience more like playing or watching an interactive superhero movie.
  6. Earth regenerator Axel Hunter, fire blazer Sinn Hunter, feral fighter Jackson Hunter, ice former Jason Hunter, shadow dancer Dante Hunter, air bender Marcus Civil and water blaster Younger Freeza stepped out of the hut accompanied by other cloned twins of the Priest, known as Commander Pious, Officer Pious, The Sentinel and The Crusader. They all lined up to join their brother Captain Harlem against the avenging angel.

But without so much as a raised finger by the alluring angel girl, the boys found themselves spiralling through time and space.
  7. Nice work on those new additions you two. Birthdate add and the new CharacterBox. CD, I especially like the NH Nav Bar.

When I get the time, I'll have a play around with the new boxes.

A netherworld known to many as the seventh void. A place of dry land and desert climate. A man in a purple-blue lycra suit with yellow stripped patterns wanders through the barren lands without purpose or direction. He staggers about, struggling to summon enough energy to take his next step forwards. As beads of sweat broke out from within his costume, the man gives in and risks removing his helmet. He lifts off the reinforced plastic and reveals smooth brown skin and a handsome shaven face with sharp eyes and slick, jet-black hair.

In the distance, he thought he could see a makeshift hut built near an oasis. Worn out and dehydrated from his long walk, the man rushes off towards the oasis. In his mind he pictured the sweet beautiful sensation of fine water flowing down his sandy throat and quenching the burning fire in his aching lungs. So close to the water, the man trips on a thread of wire and falls face first into the desert sand. In the corner of his eye he saw something big and sharp falling at a high speed from the palm trees above. A quick and deadly flash of steel was the last thing he ever saw.

"Oh nasty!" came a voice from inside the hut.

"That's the third one this week" said another. "Dante, your turn to clean up out there!"

"Why!?" came a high pitched reply. "Man, I do all the work around here. This is bullying, you know that? It's because I'm the youngest isn't it?"

"Youngest by what, twelve hours?" said another voice. "Don't worry bro, I'll take care of this."

Out of the hut came a man dressed in dirty torn jeans and a once-white vest. His facial features flawlessly resembled the decapitated victim's.

"Well if it isn't Captain Harlem to the rescue," came a snide comment, shouting after the exiting man.

"I find it intriguing" said another voice, deep, with a New York accent. "Guy's only been here a few months and already he acts like one of us."

"Well technically, Axel" came another voice. "Err... he is one of us."
    The Seventh Void

Captain Harlem was dressed in torn jeans and a dusty vest. His smooth brown skin was complimented with a handsome shaven face, sharp eyes and slick, jet-black hair. He moved across the desert sand, over to the decapitated body of the Crey Industries revenant clone, a perfect replica of his twin brother, the hero Pious 'The Priest' Hunter. It was to this realm that the Priest had banished all his biological copies, twins and Crey clones alike.

"Well aw'right" said Harlem, bending over and grabbing the body by its legs. "Don't fret none pikni, I'll give you a burial worthy of a priest."
  9. Nice artwork. Tech-blasting psychic space dragon for the win!
  10. Bring any character you'd enjoy. We'll all know our powers and limitations OOC and eventually IC, so it should be good fun to RP.

Last time I checked there were plenty of nasty demons in Hell so, "bring your guns! Lots and lots of guns!"

Well, you never told me Antonio was stranded in the Netherworld. You should have called me anyway. Listen I’ve gotta go, I've made some arrangements and err, I'm going to get him... I'm going back to hell."

The metal shell seemed to spin forever until it came crashing into a pool of hot lava in an alien environment.
Hey everyone. I extend to you, an invite to my character-orientated forum RP plot titled The Revelation of Alicia Barzini as she will soon be part of a MAGI-sponsored mission to Raid the Netherworld and save Antonio Barzini. Sign up here details of your joining character; name, species, physical description, power description, skills and limitations. Also state the reason they're joining the mission. So for example:

    1. Name: Arcane Hero

    2. Species: Human

    3. Physical: Tall, male Caucasian dressed in a long black coat.

    4. Power: Can channel negative energy into projected blasts.

    5. Skills: Wields two modified handguns and a katana.

    6. Limitations: Powers can only affect an immediate radius of twenty-feet.

    7. Weakness: Human physiology is prone to exhaustion and mortal wounds.

    8. Reason: MAGI-affiliate sent to aid on the mission.

The above pictured monster is the demon Nasfahtu whose arrival will mark the closing of the RP. The battle against Nasfahtu will likely be GM'd along the lines of the Chimera fight. Other reasons why your hero (or villain) might be involved in this mission is if they're a friend of MAGI or any other FBSA organisation, randomly passing by at the time of team formation, naturally aware of movements across the Nether realms or actually present down there during the course of the mission. This RP is not based on or limited to your servers. Thanks for your interest.

"Holy sh**!" screamed the parole officer, panicking inside the car. Pistol grabbed him by the blazer and yanked him through an open window before leaping out after him. From the safety of a nearby rock, they watched as the suburban vehicle sunk into its fiery grave. "Where the hell are we? Did you... did you literally bring us to hell?!" yelled the policeman. And right on cue, a swarm of winged demons shrieked a deathly wail across the volcanic landscape.

"Officer Neil," said Pistol, reaching for her arcane flintlocks. "Whatever happens, just stay with me." Pistol aimed her guns into the red-hot clouds and prepared to open fire. "Honey..." she cried, "I'm ho-omeee!"

Silver bullets engraved with arcane markings ripped through the air and negative energy burnt through the flying demons. Then suddenly, it all went dark.

"Alicia?" asked Memphis, surprised by the woman's audacity. "Okay, let me get this straight. After all you've been through, you now intentionally want to die again, so you can run around the netherealms searching for your dead son? Are you crazy?" Memphis covered the cellphone and turned to the Emperor. "This girl is crazy. Watch this." He placed the phone back to his ear and continued talking. "Pistol, listen. Despite the fact that you failed to assassinate the Priest, a direct order from the Dark Lord, and even though you ratted us out the police, took all the credit, and are now on the Illuminati's burn list, I'm actually going to help you. I'll help you kill yourself, okay? Stay where you are, I'll send a guy, he's good at this sort of thing, alright?" Memphis hung up. "What a fu***** liberty," Memphis groaned, slamming down the phone. The others around the table turned to look at him.

"Fu** you looking at?" he snapped. "One less defect to worry about right? Now get on with your useless meeting before I laser death-beam the place."

By the way, it appears you were bang on the ball about the eventual restoration of her genetic body, and all her original powers, hmm? Hang on, my phone's buzzing."

  15. Paulatuk, Canada.

Above, the icy winds blew across the glacial formations of the Arctic Circle, the temperatures plummeting to an average of −35 °C. The wind carried snow and ice briskly across the surface. A small town battered by the snowstorm, innocuous in its appearance and by all accounts abandoned by its residents.

Deep below the surface was a different story. A large base, one of the quarters of the Midnight Illuminati, was well-heated with neither sight nor sound from above penetrating the insulated structure. At its centre was a large chamber, home to an equally large meeting table.

Several of the seats were already filled by beings of familiar and unfamiliar appearance. Together they sat in silent contemplation lifting their heads only to watch the door open as the leader of the gathering made his way in. Emperor Gar stepped in, staring with his one clean eye, wearing his rather more casual outfit of trenchcoat and leather pants, smiling at his fellows from the Echelon and walking casually to his place at the table.

    Three Hours Later...

"Honestly Tyrone" growled the deep voice of Memphis Alexander. Even sat, one could tell he was oddly tall, smartly dressed and aged beyond recognition. The old man had grey hair and withering skin which hung loosely across his dark and permanently angry face. "I don't know why I come to these meetings twice a year. I just sit here bored out of my skull listening to ugly-faced aliens bickering about universal politics. If you're game, I say we get the hell outta here."
  16. That evening, just outside Silvia and Dak's home.

"Sorry to have cut short your reunion" said the escorting officer, holding open the doors to her SUV.

"Goodbye Silvia," said Pistol, entering the vehicle. "See you tomorrow for dinner!"

As the door slammed shut, Pistol rushed to find her cellphone and quickly dialed an old friend. "Hello? Yeah its me. Look, I know I'm the last person in the world you want to talk to right now, but my son is trapped in the Netherworld and I need your help."

  20. Disclaimer: This is OV's idea and that's just my take on it. If the plot does take off, then thats great, but I've learnt from mistakes made while collaborating with TA and I won't be assuming any GM roles on something like this, that isn't my original idea. I don't have any characters of that level cosmic power anyway so unless mundane heroes get a role to play somehow, I'll stay sat with the other forum spectators cheering on the Unioners, I mean, the good guys.

An idea similar to this could be made to work well if handled properly, and if the consensus is to give it a go. Some pre-Incarnate (i19) forum RP could be entertaining indeed. Perhaps these cosmic powers are called upon and brought together for a meet and greet because a cosmic seer has seen the coming of a cosmic threat (or plural if people want a villain each) who presents a major problem to the stability of the universe (union/virtue collision?). Maybe for some reason these cosmic powers must use strategies that requires teamwork and shared responsibility with the other powers to take down this universal enemy (maintenance of cosmic balance?). Just a passing thought. It may be too much trouble than it is fun, or more sound in theory than it is practical... meh.

Well said indeed. It's all about a "well thought out character concept, with good reasoning for whatever power level they're claiming". Like TA said, it's tolerable so long as it doesn't actually hinder the enjoyment of others by metagaming or breaking plots. Which is probably why those with godly characters keep out.

I new beginning. And the Priest has been so kind to me, he used his contacts to narrow my search and helped me locate you. I haven't only started now Silvia, I've been searching for you and Antonio my whole life. Many times I've made all the wrong decisions because of my desperation, but at least its finally lead me here, to you. I've even used my family links, and regretably... their methods, to secure a wealthy foundation for you and Tony. There is a fifteen-year old trust fund account in your name Silvia and it's my gift to you. I hope you can forgive me? For having been so distant. I know, I'm a bad mother!"
  23. "Sorry to hear that," said Pistol, still standing. It dawned on her just how much of her daughter's life she'd missed. "Gosh, there’s so much about you I'd like to know, and I'm sure likewise you have lots of questions for me. You know, I've done so much wrong in this world out of the bitterness of loosing you Silvia, at one point Vanguard had me on their most wanted list and had the Priest chase me half way across the multiverse. There's a realm called Virtue where I first met you and your brother, oh you looked so beautiful I wanted you all for myself, but it all fell apart. I ended up dead in the end... but even the reapers couldn't handle me Silvia, I was determined to find you, and now here I am, a lifetime goal fulfilled." She beamed down at her daughter, bathed in the rich California sunshine dancing through the windows. She noticed all the feline attributes and recollected something about Tyrone being a descendant of the Egyptian goddess Bast. The swishing tail, the soft fur, the big beady eyes, it reminded her of why she once fell in love with the tiger-like boy now called Tyger. "You look so much like your father" said Pistol. "Mind if I sit down? I'd like to stay a while and answer anything you want to ask."
  24. "I'll take a glass of water Dak" said Pistol, eyeing the boy with daring inquisition. "But before you go to get it, mind if I ask how old you are? I mean, I'm hardly twenty-nine and Silvia's father and I were, quite regrettably, together when I was fourteen... My daughter's only fifteen, you know that right?" she said, finding herself becoming maternal and protective, though she knew speaking against Dak was at the risk of upsetting him and the very girl she came to reconcile with. "No offence meant of course, I'm just asking," she added, with a forced smile to try and lighten the mood.
  25. Following the foiled attack, it was with a reasonable amount of trepidation that Alicia Barzini crossed the threshold into the roomy California home. Once inside, she looked around and noticed the majority of content belonged to the boy, remnants of a smart kid growing up in Texas, an active family that had nothing to do with Silvia. The young girl's imprint on the place was nothing more than a picture of her with her father, Tyrone Gar and a few token awards from her career.

"Nice place you got here" said Pistol, trying to break the ice. "Fluffy sofa, pine furnishings; very homely," she complimented, nervously clearing her throat. She stood there in the middle of the room, gingerly awaiting an invitation to sit, drink, or whatever. "Well, I take it you're not my Antonio?" she asked the more relaxed of the two kids, slightly ashamed that she couldn't tell apart a stranger to her estranged son.
