She had smelled the fire from across the bending corridors. She had heard Damsel talking. Now, she was running flat out through the dungeons, pushing her lungs beyond its limits, stretching her muscles through the cramps and aches. As though in slow motion, she dove through the flaming door, the heat melting away her ghostly disguise. She barged past two shadowy figures and flung herself into the path of Erezul's erupting fireball. Her body took the shot and instantly burst into flames, her Nighthunter's armour struggling to cope with the damage.
Sabrina San thought she had saved her son but when she landed next to him, she knew instantly that something was wrong. Several moments passed as the woman's skin continued to burn. She remained unmoving, fixed to the cage where her young son had spent the last week of his precious life. A single tear fell from her eyes and landed on David's forehead. His whole face had been forced round and the neck was broken beyond repair. -
It was official. The five intruders were completely lost. Be it the winding and twisting corridors or the dreadful similarity of the stone walls, the team kept arriving back where they had been. "I think there are defensive spells in here Rachel, some very evil mind-warping magic. We've managed to avoid the deathtraps thanks to you but these halls are so confusing that we are quite literally lost. More lost than Matthew Fox in that TV show," said Pious replying to the mental messages. "Alright alright calm down sweetheart, there's no need for that kind of language".

Wow. That is an awesome poster.

LOL. *watches them walk into a death trap* ahhhhhhhhh
No, there is now a mental link with the telepaths among the captured. -
Quote:Leeches sent orders telephathically to the AI that piloted the helicopters, "Fire the sleep gas rockets and open fire with the chainguns".Quote:...ground erupted in a loud *thwoom* and a sound like a sharp crack followed instantly from the roof, followed as weapons opened up along the roof.
The four teams of minions surrounding the castle were still firing on the building, now weakening it's defences. The mercenary troop’s commander was sending out a message over his radio comms when suddenly, he was no longer there. His unconscious body laid twenty feet across the yard, a nasty concussion bruise swelling up on his forehead. His ranking soldiers took arms and began retaliatory fire towards the rooftops. The robots holding the line on the south face of the castle just outside the front door watched on as two sticks of dynamite exploded before them, buckling their armoured frames. With the weapons they still had functioning, they too turned their fire upwards towards the roof.
One of the forcefield-shielded masters made his move; taking to the skies with sudden force and dangerously increasing speed. As his invulnerable skin shrugged off the chain-gun machine fire, it became apparent that this brute had no intentions of stopping. He aimed himself squarely with the helicopter's fuel tank, similar to what one of his commanding field leaders Blade Racer was doing. As Blade flew at one chopper, the brute targeted another; it seemed an explosive collision was precisely the plan.
Meanwhile... inside Castle Bathory
Six reputable members of the Court of the Blood Countess had managed to slip through the enemies outside and were now rushing through the Castle. They arrived at the staircase and found Joarathil challenging a familiar vampire who was clearly intruding. Joarathil was more than capable of holding his own so they left him to it and made their way down into the dungeons. As they progressed deeper into the castle underbelly, the sounds of drums could be heard in the distance and the distinct stench of the undead caught their noses.
But instead of zombies, a young and beautiful Chinese girl emerged from the shadows. She looked innocent enough with her punk-style spiky brown hair, white crop-top and mini denim skirt, complimented with an inviting smile. As she approached the assorted group of six, she waved eagerly. The werewolf passed her by, so did the two horned demons. The mad scientist waved back, as did the vampire but the sixth member; the ghost, froze up with a strange look on her face. She squared up the harmless-looking girl upwards from the toes, taking in her long white puffy socks and bright pink sneakers before arriving at the face. Suddenly, one of the vampires grabbed the pale-skinned ghost by the arm and tugged her along. -
Alright you got the PM. Let’s stop the trial and just carry on with the story. Too much OOC explanation and the IC elements of surprise, mystery and suspense lose weight. Let's have a little faith with each other.
About the plot moderator; I think he has already mentioned that RL is keeping him largely occupied and he elaborated on that during our PM conversations last night. Eric leads the Court and I lead the NH. Big Game leads Hyenas and Bunny leads the Corporation. I think there has been up until now, sufficient and careful communication between four SG leaders involved in this plot. Big Game is doing all he can to GM this thing the right way and all we can do to help him is pass all our story development ideas through him and I think we've done that so far, so keep it up and bring on the RP. -
Quote:Like the Hyena, those guys are Etoile Isle citizens. They are from the five-month old redside Nighthunters lead by Tyran Gar.multiple armies of masterminds (which I may add -how- do you have them in the nighthunters seeing its a hero sg and as yet MM's cannot go that side, ergo where all this is coming from)
I appreciate that you didn't know that. I hope you now understand the situation better. If not, ask away dude. -
With the barrage of assault on the castle ongoing in the background, the coordinating masterminds dismounted their bikes and positioned themselves beneath the choppers. One erected a powerful forcefield over the team of seven as the others looked on, watching for any sign of attack from the Countess Leeches.
-
Well I don't know. I like the creative input of bringing in the choppers. It's something Arachnos might do and perhaps Leeches is that close with her government patrons. Thirty virus-infected soldiers defending the Castle Bathory still seems within the believable boundaries to me.
Sure they're not available as minions in-game and are only used in Gladiator pvp, but that’s why we have forum-RP, to stretch the drama a little. Unlike the thought of a satellite-launched nuke, the Infected are not plot-breaking so, I say bring it on. -
No no no, the rescue attempt of the prisoners today is far from the end of overall story as Game and I did discus last night. It's more like the middle actually. Some other stuff is still planned for next week (the Store) and I hear Corpers are thinking of doing something for the week after that; the Ball, which'll be fun.
The assault on Cap Au Diable is certainly meant to surprise everyone.
With loved-ones missing for a week, the Nighthunters were losing patience and Priest couldn't keep them researching and planning any longer, understandably. -
Erm not too sure on an outcome actually. Big Game has a general idea on how he plans to close the plot but that can still stretch on for another couple of weeks. The thread has lacked dating and even the titled chapters are blurred but what is certain are the dates of Nighthunters SG sub-plots.
Wednesday 2nd June: Nighthunters learn about an Open Season declared by archenemy Elizabeth Bathory.
Thursday 3rd June: Nighthunters send a reconnaissance party to Pocket D.
Friday 4th June: They hold off the descent on Moth Cathedral (though Damsel's first post didn't show a date).
Wednesday 9th June: Nighthunters hold a wedding and seven of them are stolen by Lilith.
Thursday 10th June: They chase down Lilith and learn of Castle Bathory's dungeons.
Wednesday 16th June: Nighthunters plot to attack the enemy and liberate their stolen loved-ones.
Thursday 17th June: They storm Cap Au Diable and target Castle Bathory. That's today and I think something's also planned for in-game. Hope that helps B. -
From across the street the rumbling sound of motorcycles could be heard. A gang of growling Harleys rolled into view, glistening in the afternoon sunlight. The distinct black magic-laced kevlar armour of the Nighthunters sat atop the beasts as the wheels came to screeching halt outside the Castle Bathory. The front door had been blown open but an iron gate could been seen guarding the staircase inside.
Bringing support was the Nighthunters Army; seven experienced mercenaries who parachuted in, seven armed streetfighters who rode in on motorcycles, seven trained ninjas who ported in on smoke, seven intelligent zombies who travelled beneath the earth, seven tamed demons who rose from hellfire and seven weaponised robots who jetted in on rocket fuel. The army of over fifty Nighthunters had come for one reason only; to stage an Assault on Cap Au Diable.
The missile-armed robots lined up in a straight horizontal line, blocking the south face of the castle. On the east side stood a line of explosives-armed mercenaries. On the north face were the rifle-armed street thugs. On the west side stood a line of shuriken-wielding ninjas. Scaling the building itself was a school of tamed demons and burrowing into the earth below the stone castle were the zombies. The masterminds sat strategically on the edge of the siege sending commands to their individual armies. Without warning, the thugs, mercs, ninjas and robots opened fire onto the Castle Bathory. -
No the boy Jamie is Blade_Racer's character. I thought he was taken so Eric thought he was taken, but he wasn't. Only his sister was. The kid who's been killed is David Tai San, one of my characters. She is usually merciless but expect a very angry and very murderous Sabrina San in the next few posts.
-
Quote:Hazel watched on as the crazy teenager left the dungeon, she was careful not to have been seen by the mean old vampire and her zombie guard. She shuffled along the cage and gently collected the lifeless body of David Tai San. Slowly she cradled him, tears welling up in her eyes. "Don't worry David, I'll be strong for you now" she whispered. "This isn't the first time I've been kidnapped; mum and I know exactly what to do okay? We got a message to my dad and he says he's on his way to save us. You hear me David? The Nighthunters are coming and this manky old castle will be torn apart! Down to the very last brick..."Elizabeth walked straight to the cage where the young girl Mary seemed to be in an unnatural but peacefull sleep. An armed zombie stood next to the cage... his shape looking even more impressive in the flickering fire-light. A dark-skinned girl looked on in horror, too scared to even talk.
...To be continued immediately in the Assault on Cap Au Diable. And coming soon the Taking of Castle Bathory. -
"Oh my god you got a PC?" she screamed. "That's even better! I'm gonna go log on kay? There's this awesome MMORPG we have back home in China called City of Villains" she explained, walking off out of the dungeon, muttering to herself. "Need to hit level 40. Go see to the explosion boss, I'll make my own way."

Quote:Yeah, it happened on page 2.Just notice Memphis is 'dead' on the scoresheet, what happened? Did I miss something there?
Edit: Never mind,re read the summary. It got a lil confused there ^^;;
Quote:The smell of cotton-lined Kevlar suddenly filled the room after a shadowy blur of black fabric zipped up the staircase and onto the bell tower. The thunderous blam of a powder-based gunshot resonated through, followed by another, then the clicking of metal as the shooter reloaded. "Vinco everto, vernula abyssus, tergum ut vorago, procul sanus campana!" The ornate flintlock was piosed and aimed at the skull of its target, "Master of demons, servant of hell, back to the abyss at the sound of this bell" recited the shooter, swiftly unloading her rounds onto the iron cast bell.
"No! You tricked me!" Memphis cried, as his body ignited and burnt to ash, swept away in a strong gust of wind.Quote:"What selling me out?" asked Pious. "Some sister you are. This is worse than dying to Memphis."
"You know that wizard really hated your guts, and I don't blame him. The relationship between him and your mother, yeah he told me. Typical really, a loving family and the guy still couldn't keep his wiener in check. I actually got him to write me into his will. Now I finally got him. I suppose technically, you're looking at the new CEO of all things Memco" she announced, unable to contain a victorious grin. "Hard to get him out in the open, so I made him think that the 'Dark Lord' wanted him here, with you. From there on, everything just sort of, fell into place." -
Quote:1. Priest was attacked by Memphis, Elizabeth and then Leeches....who has a character, npc or otherwise that is on the *hunted* list that hasnt yet been attacked
2. Sabrina was attacked by Lilith at Moth Cathedral.
3. Pistol was attacked by Wolfe at Moth Cathedral.
4. Damsel was stolen by Lilith after Suraya's Wedding.
5. Hazel was stolen by Lilith after Suraya's Wedding.
6. Altair was attacked by Carmine at Moth Cathedral and later stolen by Lilith after Suraya's Wedding.
7. David Tai San, the son of Sabrina Chung San was stolen by Lilith after Suraya's Wedding and recently killed by Niatsu beneath Castle Bathory.
8. Which leaves Private Detective Michael Grayson aka Hellskiller who was present at Moth Cathedral but as yet remains untargetted. -
"Typhon, Snaerr... thank you" said Pious, now gathering up his energy and preparing to strike. A wall of bright white light surrounded his whole body as he energised. His form seemed to change shape, growing larger and sprouting scaled armour. Suddenly, with great speed he dive-bombed, fists first into the group of dragons tearing at Rotten Luck, releasing a blinding explosion of light. The combined damage from the mummy's soul drain into shadow maul combination and Pious's build-up into white dwarf flare stunned the dragons but didn't keep them held for long. The giant twelve monsters just kept on coming, determined to destroy the dark-powered zombie and his intruding friends. "Damn it" Pious yelled. "These things are strong, we need more damage!"

No its a good point and something we all must be careful of. It's too easy to get carried away and overstep the limitations set for us to play by. Forum RP gives us the freedom to describe our powers extensively and prolong the drama of a fight, but we really shouldn't exaggerate beyond what said characters can prove doable in-game. That's my take on it. Pious for example during the Moth Cathedral fight would've been a Sword/Regen Hero (Hero as in the redside con of an AV) using weapons that are temp powers. Indeed he could only take out Countess Leeches's soldiers with the sword and ported Leeches with a temp power. Granted Bathory and Leeches would con as AV's which would bring them and the Heroes to an even combat level, as it happens in an in-game PvP situation. Can a level 20 scrapper defeat a whole team of level 50 MM's by him or herself however? I don't know. Maybe that's not so plausible. I guess as long as it's mutually consented, (as was Niatsu vs the Vultures) then its okay. We must make way for creativity somehow while retaining some level of realism.

At first I thought it was a typo, but you've actually mistaken Altair for a boy? Codename is a girl.

Kai climbed into the cage and crawled on all fours towards the boy. She examined him really closely, running her hands over his face and tugging at his small eyes. Suddenly, a violent bonecrunching crack was heard and the girl quickly scurried out of the cage. "I'm done" she shouted excitedly, grinning from ear to ear. "Although now my schedule's clear. Hey do you got X-Box? What with the cops after me, I should probably hole up with you for a while, right?"
