Their scales reflected the extreme heat and the ground below them began to melt, trapping them all in a pool of magma. Exhausted, the fiery demon collapsed.

As the mages and policebots proceeded onwards, Pious swept low and lifted the demon under his arms, his wings working overtime to get back in the air. "Come on guys, let's get outta here before those dragons escape. Follow the Midnighters. I can see what looks like a city up ahead, in the very centre of Hell."

Hmm... only just saw this thread. Now I kind of understand what flashrains and everyone else was talking about in this thread.

It's like Sartori said, it seems like obvious enough advice. I was just wondering how awesome it would be to finally have an art of my character so I came here to ask. The obvious thing to do was as Jug's 1-7 point advice states. And it paid off cos LJ did me (and two other people) some amazing pieces of work. I guess he was in the mood. And goes to show this community does have plenty of fine people out there and genuinely generous artists. Long live CoX!

"Be careful what you wish for," replied Pious, emerging through the clouds and approaching the ship at an alarming rate, "cos you just might get it." The waters parted from the violent gust of wind created by the flying man as he came in low. He circled the ship twice to survey the crew before coming in for a landing. "Forgive the delay" he said, before joining his party at the makeshift Ritz. "I had some things to take care of; can never be too careful when you're hunted."

He'd only just settled in when he noticed the bodies of the two people they'd lost to Bathory's madness. Sabrina San was a good woman and a wonderful mother to her son. Pious was tempted to try a resurrection ritual on her once again but he knew deep down the angels had already made home for her soul. Pious made a mental note to hold an appropriate funeral service in memory of the daring Dragonfly once they got home. The boy however was far more peculiar. Something was different about him. "As anyone noticed David's injuries have healed? His neck was broken but now look... it’s fixed itself."

"By Christ the boy is a mutant!" Altair exclaimed having surveyed his physiology. "The very thing Sabrina most despised... oh the irony!" Right on cue, the three-year old regenerating mutant sprang to his feet, gasping for air. As the boat disappeared into the distant sunset, the faint outlines of Paragon City sat on the eastern horizon. The sound of a young boy mourning his mother could be heard in the evening winds. "Mummy?" he cried and a new hero was born.
  8. Ah even better. I think this plot is one of those journeys that could go on for as long as you're enjoying it or as short as you need it be. And with so many different interpretations of the hell realms and its hostile or non-hostile inhabitants... everyone could have a go at contributing their own sub-plots, so by all means Gar, I certainly don't see a problem with a plot extension. Do any of you guys?

    Thanks LJ. Much appreciated.

Gonna go show 'em off now.
  10. Yeah I've spoken with Bunny. We're home free.
  11. Hmm haven't considered that. If people are looking to round it off we can close by month end?
  12. "I'll set up a nice little illusion for a more pleasant trip home" said Zaisha, settling into the makeshift stay area. "Hate feeling like a smuggling immigrant."

"This crate is addressed to the Foundry?" asked Altair, having come to. "Could it be that they had this whole rescue set up to rescue the rescue team?"

The freighter was their only choice of suitable landing so with Morrighan Spireside influencing the winds in their favour, the Nighthunters descended gently onto the ship. The blue-skinned night elf approached the crew members diplomatically, "Afternoon" she greeted. "Excuse the peculiar arrival if you can. My friends and I are heading stateside. Please tell me you're going that way. We could really use some good news today."
  15. Not cross-country. Even if he exited the realm and returned, he'd still be within the vertical boundaries. The only way across would be Longbow submarines.
  16. It's geographically dangerous but I'm tempted to have Priest stranded on the isles or something, so he can meet up with Big Game later at The Store. After this infuriating humiliation, I imagine Bathory would quadruple the bounty rewards and double her efforts against monster hunters everywhere. We've gone through what seems like three or four chapter-like sub-plots already but something tells me Open Season has only just begun. The game is on, let the hunt continue...

He barged past Pious and dived out of the hatch, his packpack opening into a jetpack. "Ain't no cash in it fer me!"
Pious looked even more confused as the man he thought was his rescuer suddenly forsaked him. If there was anything he actually hated, it was being in a situation he couldn't calculate. "What in the Heavens is going on here?" he asked himself, free-falling out of the hatch just seconds before it locked. Bent on finding some answers, Pious fights the strength of the wind and propels himself forwards, aiming to even up with the flier and glimpse at the pilot's identity.

  19. I'm sorry about the misunderstanding about the flier destination. I was under the impression Gorbaz was in charge of that, I didn't know you still had plans with it Bunny. The post about the tannoy announcement kinda baffled me so I just rolled with the Bozeman character... until he rolled out. Then Blade posted and I rolled with that... until the door was written as 'open' when as it turns out, it was meant to have been 'closed'. And now it turns out the destination wasn't actually Paragon City skies? Even though Bozeman implied so when he asked us to jump out? I'm confused. Not going to panic though as we can solve this.

Thats a little harsh don't you think? We're sending PM's back and forth here. There is alot of background chatter that I don't think you're aware of.

And... Priest is characteristically naive. It's his greatest weakness and always gets him trapped and in trouble. We know this.
  21. Oh. Right... it's gone wrong somewhere along the lines then.

Should we edit out Steel Canyon and have then dive *unknowingly* down into an Etoile location? Having somehow forced the doors open?

If not we could retcon the whole thing backwards and keep them trapped in the carrier.

Pious gave the signal and with practised perfection, the Nighthunters dove from the Arachnos craft. A revitalised Misty Hunter made good use of her angel wings, holding her one-armed and unconscious Elven boyfriend Morilanthi close to her bosom as she shot earthwards. The inquisition into his berserker rage would have to come at a later time. Morrighan Spireside held the technopath Altair Stevens close to her and eased the wind into a controlled descent. Alena Corvas helped carry down Sabrina's body and Zaisha lifted the boy David. Damsel flew with Laya, keeping a close eye on her daughter Hazel who was surprisingly confident, flying earthward with her new friend Mary. Like six rockets plummeting to earth, the twelve of them shot through the late afternoon skies; quickly catching up to Blade Balfear and his new wife who were sharing a classically heroic end-scene kiss mid-air.

"Sorry about any damage to your carrier Agent Bozeman" said Pious, standing on the edge of the exit hatch. "But before we part ways I must know this; something doesn't add up with that extracting teleport. I'm pretty certain Castle Bathory had dampening defences in place so an exit like that would've required a close-proximity connection, a physical presence. Not to mention the teleport itself was distinctively magical in nature, though so far, I haven't been able to trace the energy source. Let’s be honest... you are helping us cross the ocean... but loyal or rogue, it wasn't Arachnos who saved us today, was it?"

Even with due respect to Suraya's skills, Pious was confident in the superiority of his illusionary powers. He pushed on to disperse Suraya's accidentally conjured spectrals, the integrity of their escape vehicle was at hand.
