Quote:Pious had waited but there was no answer to the question. He turned away from Blade Racer when a sudden spike of massive energy caught his attention. "Looks like something's pissed off Adam" said Pious, taking to the air and flying round the block. The cult's demon attack on Steel Canyon may have just been successfully averted but the real villains remain hidden. Any ideas on those names?"
"Storm!" yelled Pious, arriving at the fight scene to find Misty battling a chaos demon and Adam unleashing his power onto an unknown swordsman. Just then the military task force that had helped Longbow reclaim the streets of Steel Canyon arrived at the scene. "Storm, what's going on?" -
Quote:"I understand now" said Pious, having watched the threat of Impervium Tower quickly teleported away. "I look forward to meeting you again."After Tower moved through the portal it quickly closed. Pious, I have a feeling I shall be seeing you soon. Jemma eyed up the Cathedral for a moment.
Pious moved from the Cemetery now. In the distance he could see police lights approaching through the fog. The heroes and the authorities had finally arrived. -
Quote:The buildings rumbled and debris fell, the very grounds of the cemetery shook with each step the juggernaut took. From deep within the town's fog formed the silhouette of a hulking beast, the dark red armoured form of Impervium Tower was now clear to see.She turned her back to the Cathedral, and peered through the fog, there couldn't be much distance between them. "Pious, unless your friendly with the Netherworld, do not stand anywhere near my portals..." [...] "Bathory will learn..." [...] "...Never to mess with my family..." With that said, Jemma turned her gaze down the road again, both arms straight out, each hand still glowing.
"Registered friendly... Ghost of Death" announced the machine, marching forth unstoppably. "Target acquired... Pious Hunter. Engaging... force multipliers."

Quote:So here's what I'm thinking plot-wise once we've escaped the biker demons as we escaped the flaming dragons...The surroundings dissolved as his scream became louder. He was still in Hell, his own personal hell. The form of his mother had been replaced with that of a demonic golem and his place, chained up in the center was now clear to him as he hung there, lifeless but alive, watching as the beast strolled away...
Motorcycle ride through Flaming Tombs (Heretics/6th circle) > Dragon rides over the Wall of Dis > Fight each other through River Styx (Wrath/5th circle) > Lift crushing weights and fight with Demon Plutus (Greed/4th circle) > Swim through vile freezing slush and fight Demon Cerberus (Glutton/3rd circle) > Survive the neverending violent storms (of Lusters/2nd circle) > Resist the mental torture/personal Hell of the Demon Golem and rescue Officer James Neil, Antonio Barzini-Gar and his mother 'Pistol' > Defeat the Demon Nasfahtu and escape the Netherworlds via river Acheron... with some angelic help. Any thoughts? -
Thursday 5th, August. Grounds between Moth Cathedral and Moth Cemetery.
Both the Priest and Ghost of Death had been waiting in their positions for hours now without moving much or exchanging words. Pious felt from their earlier conversations that the spirit before him held many reservations, possibly to bottle down the urge for debate and argument concerning his faith and the Bible. And yet the pair remained silent, watching one and another for signs of movement. Pious was rehearsing in his own mind the many variables Impervium Tower's arrival would bring and carefully, he plotted his possible reactions. He would remain calm and collected as usual and if it came down to a fight, he would let the Ghost of Death do whatever she felt necessary, assuming she remained true to her words of engaging Tower herself.
Suddenly a buzzing noise echoed through the grounds and a radio message filled the airwaves. "This is Brigadier Leon Tasker of The Dunelm Group responding to Talos Island distress call. I am currently with a small team and we are Oscar Mike to your position to offer assistance, over." Pious's police radio which was attached to his utility belt had jumped to life. Talos Island's Paragon City Police precinct were broadcasting for hero assistance, apparently following an incident with an unknown hostile. Pious attuned his senses and directed his super-earring southwards of Astoria, across the ghost town and towards the zone's gate.
"Scanning... Visibility levels low" Pious heard. "Infra-red Mode... Failed to improve visibility... Target coordinates already set... Continuing to destination"
"Missus Moore" Pious called, reaching across the cemetery and through the thick fog for the attention of the Ghost of Death. "He's here, the Impervium Tower." -
"Good fight hunters" said Pious, telepathically via the Nighthunter's amulet as he escapes the portal's destruction. "I did some digging and found the reasons why the Circle of Thorns decided to attack this part of Steel Canyon. It's clear they came looking for the Worn Cover, and it seems they learnt about us using it as a base by infiltrating MAGI government offices. Azuria's made sure no demon of any kind will see the true book-store through a series of heavy concealment and misdirection magic. Anything that bypasses that magic will perceive about a dozen Worn Cover's in Steel Canyon today."
"Blade, Rack Up, Suraya, does the name Glaciers, Pyros or Titan ring any bells?" asked Pious. "Those are three of seven imposters responsible for framing us for crimes against the Circle of Thorns. Theft of an arcane book, sacred gems and the murder of about a dozen Thorn worshippers. The cult's demon attack on Steel Canyon may have just been successfully averted but the real villains remain hidden. Any ideas on those names?" -

Sounds good to me dude. I don't know anyone in Talos who would engage a hostile trespasser other than PCPD and Freedom Corps. I would however, suggest limiting the majority of the conflict to Dark Astoria gateside. So maybe Tower lands in Talos Island, takes out some cars on that long stretch of road to Astoria's gate, then literally gate-crashes through to the Dark Astoria hazard zone. Makes sense then that it's here the gate guards call in police and hero back-up. Cue maybe eight cop cars, a patrol team of eight Freedom Corps/Longbow agents and the news crew. It would be great if The Dunelm Group were to witness this conflict on television and came over to get directly involved because then we can finally jump-start the Dunelm/Nighthunter alliance we've been planning.

Quote:That's the message from Fireybolt. We look forward to your return buddy.Hey this is Fireybolt from the City of Heroes forum. I'm sorry for contacting you through facebook but I didn't know any other way. I really liked the roleplaying thread you set up but [...] cancelled my game account ( at least for this month) so I can't roleplay with you anymore. I was wondering if when the next time you posted in the thread you could mention Illusionist and Brassrobo randomly being sucked into a portal through space and time. I know its kind of a silly way to get them out of the story but both characters are engimatic enough that it would make sense for them and it would allow me to reintroduce them when I get my account back. Thanks in advance.

Pious lowered his wife onto the seat of a free motorcycle just as he too commandeered one that had crashed into the dirt road. With a beastly growl the two machines came to life, kicking up dust into the berserker crowd before flooring it into the distance. Illusionist and Brassrobo followed suit and quickly overtook the married couple. Suddenly a hole in space-time appeared deep within the crevices of the road. The arguementative duo rode unsuspectingly straight down into the dark portal. Almost instantly, it closed.
"Whoa!" yelled Pious, squeezing the brake handles. "Those two just dropped straight out of hell... through some sort of a dimensional portal."

"Profundus inritus, foramen sic atrum, exsisto haud magis quod vultus non tergum!" cried the Priest, supporting the magic chanting with a volley of holy blasts. On his final word, he leaps through the air, collecting together all of his energy. With a blinding flash of pure cosmic power, the Priest brought down an Earth breaking, stone shattering incandescent strike that rocked the very ground of the Hell realm as the portal's light finally began to die.

So for the action at Moth Cathedral, we just wait for @Eleven to make his post on Impervium Tower's entrance?
-
Quote:"Meet again with the Countess?" asked Pious, "I would gladly. I have always said I'd rather she side with me the rejoin the cycle of Hell."“If the Countess wishes to speak to you, I shall take you to her. However, I do not intend to leave before I have seen Impervium Tower.”
"But if we must wait for Impervium Tower to arrive, then wait we shall. I hear he is unstoppable. If he comes to claim bounty on my head, I am afraid he will have to go be unstoppable somewhere other than here, less you phase through him and reach beneath his impervium armour." -
Wasnt even Norton. Something called Bullguard or something. The name says it all really. I'll download Avast then
.

You know after all that it turned out to be some dodgy antivirus software that came with the PC that was causing all the problems. Stayed up all night trying to fix this and its one damn little overzealous software holding me back. Anyways thanks to all who've helped me with this issue. Very kind of you.

Where can I get a Driver Cleaner programme? I don't see one on my system. Must I pay for a copy?

Here we go... does this mean graphics drivers are now fixed?

How? ATI website downloads?
Edit: Kay thanks guys. Any helpful little links? -
Just got this gamer PC yesterday and I'm struggling to play CoH on minimum settings let alone Ultra Mode. It handles Ultra Mode well but as soon as I get into a fight situation or on a mission, it lags out and crashes. I suspect it might be my slow net connection. Any advice?
My Local Area Connection networks using Realtek PCI GBE Family Controller at 100Mbps. :?

Thursday 5th, August. Grounds between Moth Cathedral and Moth Cemetery.
The past few weeks had been difficult for the Nighthunters. First was the attempted attack on the Worn Cover then what the news reporters were now calling the Battle of Steel Canyon and now this. Pious had dreamt the coming of Impervium Tower and had also seen the Ghost of Death. But now was the time to walk through those visions and understand the reasons behind the choices he witnessed made.
"You are the wife of Adam Moore" said Pious, revealing himself through the fog of Moth Cemetery. His dark full-body cassock fluttering in the unnatural breeze. "You walk the grounds of our Anglican Church like the poor, restless souls of Dark Astoria. But you serve not the Banished Pantheon, nor the Tsoo. No, you serve one of a more conflicted purpose; the Blood Countess, slayer of mankind, drinker of blood, leech of the human life. Yet your loyalties waiver... you seek to be reunited with your beloved family. Little Alexia, once a wandering spirit, now elevated. A pure and holy ghost, messenger of the Lord and member of the Choir of Angels. And of course her father, the Stormraiser; you seek to return to him. Yet here you are with me, the Priest; redeemer of demons, exorcist of Evil. Tell me, I beseech thee," Pious finished, bending into a bow so low the helm of his cloak brushed the graveyard soil. "How may I be of service?" -
Should be fun. I'd rather have the Open Season's Battle of Steel Canyon (occurring since 8 days ago) uninterrupted by this new development though, so I've asked Ghost to move our play to the Moth Cathedral location thread.
-
Yeah I like it too but I think we're going for a forum RP format for the taking of Castle Bathory. This AE arc idea, worked-in with my own, could maybe work as a virtual reality combat training simulation maybe? Constructed after (and based on) the Open Season.
-
Oh boy UltraNova, your new Shinobi certainly chose the wrong fight to 'demonstrate his skills' with. Blade may be the best swordsman, Pious may be the versatile one but Storm is decidedly the most powerful fighter of the Nighthunters. LOL. Talk about jumping into the deep end.
-
Blade took lead and Pious followed, taking the light energy with him. They reached the nearest portal and Pious proceeded to bombard it with the cosmic beam of light, causing a luminous detonation in the process. With no time wasted, the Priest backed up his holy attack with magic, speaking in the tongue of Angels.
"Profundus inritus" he muttered calmly, followed by a powerful string of words that only caused devastating damage on the portal. "Foramen sic atrum, exsisto haud magis quod vultus non tergum!" He concluded, watching as the portal began to crumble. With no time wasted, he readied another gleaming blast.
