District 9 was amazing. Just dont see it expecting a mindless action movie. There is action in it, but its not the focus. If you see it with an open mind, Im almost positive youll love it.

Have you ever entered a costume contest only to find out that it was rigged? Or the judge was looking for something very specific, and you show up in your great costume, and aren’t picked, just because the judge was looking for a different genre and didn’t tell anyone?

Well have no fear! "Love The Turtles" are here! We will be hosting a large costume contest on August 22nd (This Saturday), at around 9pm EST. We’re going to try and start it at the beginning of the day cycle so we have the most daylight time. It will take place in Founders Falls, where Infernal and Numina are.

When we made this SG we had an emphasis on encouraging people to not only participate in every aspect of this game but have FUN doing it! With the costume editor being as robust as it is, costume contests are something that have evolved from people’s desire to be creative and express themselves, and has become a regular part of the game that many people enjoy and have fun participating in. It's always nice to take a quick break from the TF runs or pvp.

The theme will be classic superhero costumes. We're playing a superhero game lets dress like it for a day!

For those looking for more details on what type of costumes we're looking for, please google Golden, Silver or Bronze age of comics, basically any classic superhero costumes.

But wait! It doesn’t stop at just the costumes!

Our contest will not only deal with costumes, but character concepts as well.



The Contest will be in 3 parts:

1: Just the costumes. This will be the traditional contest that everyone is familiar with. We will be picking the coolest costumes. Simplicity is a big deal with these types of costumes.

2: Costumes and Bios. This will be judged by how well the costume represents the bio.
IE: If your bio says you are very heroic, and a straight shooter. Your costume should reflect that in some shape or form, such as bright colors, or no villainous costume pieces.

3: EVERYTHING! Anything you can do standing in place to convey your character concept. That includes: Toggles, Powers (That don’t require an enemy present) and COSTUME CHANGE EMOTES. For this contest we will take into account anything you throw at us, literally or figuratively. Is your character a shape shifting alien who came to earth to do good? Switch between two different costumes while the judge is there, one being the alien look, another being human look with spandex. The possibilities are endless.

Warning: The Everything contest will not be judged on how flashy you look, it will be judged on how well all the flashiness fits into your bio, and your character concept. So keep that in mind.






Rules and requirements for participating in the contest:

All participants will be placed in three separate groups based upon which contest they want to enter.

For the costume contest and the costume/bio contest, simply stand in the designated area and await the results.

For the everything contest, if your character concept requires a costume change emote, please wait for a tell from one of the judges to signify that he is watching, before activating the emote or any powers you have.

There will be multiple finalists from each group, who will be invited to a team, for further judging. If you are invited please stay in place for the final judging and communicate in team chat.

Winners will then be announced and prizes given.

Note: No one will be wrongfully judged based on SG or personal drama. If their costume/concept is good they will be fairly judged just the same as anyone else.

Rewards:

Along with influence we will be giving out a number of other prizes such as Orange salvage and Halloween costume salvage and possibly hami-o's. Salvage will go to runner ups. and there will be multiple runner ups from each category.

Also there may or may not be a couple secret prizes after the contest.

After all the prizes are given out, a large-scale pvp, free-for-all match will be set up for any and all players who wish to participate. There may be a prize for this as well. Wear your costumes for this! Superhero fights for the win!


This game severely encourages creativity and individuality with the character creator and with the costume change emotes, but often times people in this game just become a name, or simply copy an already existing superhero. I love being creative, and love to see other people’s ideas. I'm regularly sending random people tells, commenting them on their costumes. So put on your thinking caps and come up with some great character concepts, roll a new toon, or just alter an existing one. There’s no level restrictions for this! Remember creativity and originality will play a big part in this contest. So please no superhero knockoffs or homage’s.

P.S. The costumes in our flyer, above, are some simple examples of the type of costumes we are looking for. Tights with other accessories. Costumes must be 55% tights. Also TIGHTS!
