Quote:For me, I see it as fair. What the AT looses solo is more than made up teamed. With my emp/psi def, if I put fort/CM/AB constantly on my friend's blaster when we duo, he is a killing machine that makes up for what we could do individually.
...its not entirely fair to the AT doing the support when Solo.
Quote:But still I would like to be able to kill as quickly as I can with Rad defender, and I know it can be done code wise with a little ingenuity. In fact it would be nice, if you all could suggest what does code changes could be, or perhaps what methods are available to an EMP primary defender to increase her DPS ability.
Edit: Just checking back in. I forgot to add that rad can buff with AM. Even my D3 def can buff with shadowfall. But in my experience, those powers are not what those powersets are known for. In other words, on my /rad corr, I have never seen a team go "Yay! We have AM and can steamroll AV's!" -
Wow, this is tough...
For the most fun and just plain awesome, I got to say my widow. I do have her max'd out with IO's, though. Pre-I16, I would street hunt in RWZ with her against the higher level groups of mobs. Now I am finding the new diff settings really, really fun for missions.
However, for raw power, I have to go with my Bots/Storm MM. Something about soloing AVs and the destruction she causes. I still remember my 1st solo AV fight and having that "wow" feeling after winning.
Interestingly, both are red side. My blue side toons just don't give me that same powerful feeling as the two above. -
So Aett, any clue what you picked after all these suggestions?

Hi Viv,
Just FYI'ing that Hamster is running an all blaster ITF at roughly the same time. So some competition. I mentioned that I would gives your run preference over his run, but didn't know if you would be interested or not.
And get unfrazzled! -
I am going to watch Viv's Friday TFs thread too.
I would love to join this, so put me on the reserve since she indicated she may try MITF this Friday night. Then again...Viv is a blaster...So if she doesn't plan it, then would be all for the ITF.
Won't be free for the Saturday run. -
Eh, I didn't say to break the hold, only about resisting it through stacking CM.
And NiVra and Hamster, I agree. Now that I think about it, I have been on at least 2 STFs with no status protection powers (CM/ID/Thaw/Clarity/any others I can't think of?) available. One was with 2 rad controllers and myself as a dark def. We debuffed and spam healed on the tank. The second was my dark/storm STF. We just debuffed and spam healed whoever got held. -
They were going to change it that way so CM couldn't stack and I remember the outcry about the MSTF and GW how it will be impossible (and I have seen one STF where that is not true anymore). I can't recall exactly, but there was some bug with the change and it has been kept in the original form, with stacking (detoggling when zoning maybe?). GW's hold is set to 100 mag by design and not to be resisted as I recall also. So I am wondering if some little changes are in store for the future.

Quote:It is true, that the glitter of the market may be noticeably reduced for the exhorbitant profits to be made there will essentially go away. But good money can still be made, just not exhorbitant.
I am sure others will same similar things, but it is not the profits, but what players will pay.
If a player list something way too high and it does not sell, they made no profit.
If a player list something way too high and it sells, they made a great profit off a buyer willing to pay the price. The seller only listed it at a price they would accept, there is no requirement to accept it as a buyer.
IMO, there are too many "I MUST HAVE IT NOW!" buyers and and items that are in short supply with high demand that make the prices go up.
A couple of experiences with 2 of my toons. My blaster was sitting at 42, on the shelf at the time, and had lvl40 SO's which weren't doing anything. A bit after IO's came out, I went and place 1111 bids for generic crafted IO's. I checked weekly because I knew there would be crafters dumping IO's to clear inventory. And after a month or so, I had all the IO's I needed. I even respec and got some infl back on the old SO's. If sellers accepted 1111, then that is what they got.
More recently, my widow has 3 purple sets (5 slotted). Expensive right? Well, I didn't think so. I put in low bids at the beginning of the year. And slowly over time by July, I had 14 of the 15 IO's I wanted - a few through drops and rest by bids. I had so much leftover inf, I just splurged and grabbed the last one to move on to the next toon. Except for the last IO, I don't think the sellers made exhorbitant profits. -
Quote:Wow! I just said Buzz twice for the dual blades. Didn't know about that.

Try something like this? Looks like this player got advice and possible friends...just saying...

I feel this thread won't end well.
Anyhow, looking at the Victory section, there are events practically every night listed. I am in global channels and join up teams when I want. SSK allows for way easier teaming.
Not seeing these ghost towns you speak of... -
Static Sting(er)
Golden Hornet (could be close to Green Hornet)
Stingshock(er)
Honey Hacks
Buzz Buzz
Eh, all I could come up w/o more coffee... -

I will add in again Rikti origin enhancements (RO’s) when similar posts on what to use Vanguard Merits for.
In short, these are enhancements that are similar to the sHO's in the game as to bonuses, although there could be a few unique ones that may be different from the HO/sHO set up.
The story reason for their existence is from the LGTF when the Rikti were attacking the Hamidon (sorry spoiler). Part of their plan was to match the enhancements that the new heroes and villains were acquiring elsewhere – HO’s and sHO’s. Therefore, the Rikti were able to get some data from the Hamidon to their scientists before being defeated in the mission. They applied what they learned to their technology to help them combat the combined forces of the Vanguard, heroes, and villains.
From posts long ago, the RO’s would use double or triple enhancement numbers in the game. It would be a new source of “HO’s” for players to obtain outside of a raid, STF, or LRSF since they could run missions as solo/teams and earn Vanguard merits. The pricing would need to be tweaked, but 2000 to 3000 merits seemed reasonable based on the number of merits you could get on a raid compared to the number of missions in the STF/LRSF.
Anyhow, I did PM a dev on this idea (with greater details) earlier this year and crossing fingers. -
Quote:I'll second this. I play regularly with a couple of friends and we did non-standard teams. Plus add in the new diff settings and you can pretty find a "sweet spot" for mobs and levels that work best for you.Honestly Play what you want to play. Stalkers coud use some back up. But really all they need is something adding to the confusion so they can slip away when their hp gets to low.
And just tossing my 2 inf, MM's can be a bit difficult to learn if you choose that route. I strongly suggest the MM forum and checking the guides/advise. Two good fits would be /dark MM for that extra debuffing and cc to help the stalker out. Maybe another would be /PD MM for the buffs and some debuffing. The pets will draw the aggro and the stalker can come in and pick off mobs. -
Whoops, missed this thread. Welcome Volken to CoH and Victory.
Looks like you got a ton of advise so far. -
Sounds fun, but that time won't work for me. So hope you all have some great matches and pre-grats to Masq..er... the new champ!

Quote:I have ran an all blaster LGTF. No issues, and recall only about a dozen or so deaths, maybe a few more. This was last fall when we ran it. We hit the 2 hr mark exactly (2:00) and even met the challenge for it.A LGTF would be annoying, but enemies won't last very long. Rikti mez a lot, but they aren't going to mez the whole team, and since it only takes two blasters to wipe the spawn, the Rikti would have to mez better than 6 of 8, which is unlikely. The Hami might be tough, but everything else should be readily doable.
Also on Victory, Satanic Hamster has lead all blaster TFs and trial for all (including SS) except the STF. So they are done, and blasters come out fine. -
I still feel absolutely awful on that. I thought I got away from Rommie's stun, but obvoiusly didn't. And while trying to get a couple of BF's popped, the Romans jumped in.
There are some better spots I plan to be in for any future attempts.
Now back to banging my head on the wall. -
It is definitely fun. Although as a duo, my friend and I took my bots/storm and his perma-Dom in +4/team of 8 settings and ran some. Just WOW! Only one wipe when we pulled some extra aggro from a second mass of mobs on a ledge above us. The one thing I haven't tested are the different types - like I avoided Malta for now.

Quote:I am in the unsign camp too. My experiences in this (tried very early when I started playing) and previous games have been very negative. In one game that had it built in, every time I teamed, you were expected to be in it. And people would complain that all but one was in the chat. Pretty much the last time you ever saw that person again. Heck, I still recall the riot act being read to me once because I casted a buff spell on a player for an upcoming fight and wasting my magic for heals (the magic points didn't recover outside of rest at that time).
"You Noob! He said for you to stay back!"
I understand that some players get a lot out of chat and that is great for them. Even with the 3rd party systems being used now in this game, I still get lots of /tells to join Vent or whatever and I have to explain I can't. Adding it in-game would just ramp up that pressure and ruin it for me. -
Get better Viv! And will look for your update.
And depending on Viv's statis, still willing to run (even lead) tonight if people are still interested. -
Quote:Although based on not a lot of play time for it, this is how I am feeling so far. Just team up and go. And especially not worrying about falling behind or getting to far ahead in certain situations.
It's GLORIOUS!
