Quote:My "simple observations" shows nothing wrong with KB.
"Everyone" would be wrong. "Vast majority" would be hyperbole. "Majority" is simple observation.
Still waiting on that proof. -

Yeah, Ele is right about the history wipe and just wait it out.
Unless you are maxing out the diff on all those SF's/Trials, you'll be fine as you know (especially with Voo following/healing/buffing/veng'ing/rezzing you).
I never understood IWANTNOW!!! bidding for IOs unless you had some very specific plans/activities you wanted to do with a toon, like PvP. -
-
"What's the rush?" is what I would ask myself. If you are planning on playing this toon quite a bit in the very near future and got the cash to burn, then burn it.
Otherwise, I would just lowball bid what you need and then sit on those bids. You may get stuff on other toons in the meantime and just email it to the brute. Plus you can't count on everyone in low levels. There will be players that either: ding 50 the next day GR comes out or just don't care about GR. -
Quote:Just my 2 inf on those little bits. Why not let us decide if it applies KD or KB?
...
Let the individual player decide.
First, I firmly believe that the devs balance the overall powers in sets with their secondary effects (-def, tohit debuff, -res, KB, KD, etc). If the devs wanted KD in the power, they would have put it in and balanced the rest of the power (dam/rech/end/acc/range) accordingly. They just don't put in some numbers for dam/end/etc., mix in a secondary effect, and call it a day.
And second, letting players decide would be chaos IMO. You would have people whining that players have powers slotted for KB when they should be slotted for KD because it is messing up their melee/AOEs/etc - we already see that now in game and on these boards. Introducing an option to allow for a switch to KD would be fuel to the fire in that debate. This way with no choice, you know what powers will do when you see them (for example, is that en/en blaster a KB blaster or KD blaster?). And it makes players learn about KB and how great it is. I could see new players just come into the game, get told to slot for KD, then freak out when some other player comes in an uses KB. -

Quote:Honestly, I am fine with either of those. They all make good choices.I have a fire storm and Bots traps for 50's I have one toon that is close to 45, Elec shield brute if you need me to pl him.
But if I can pick, it would be MM (so I won't have to stress the rest of the week with SHamster's die rolling), then corr (see later and fire/storm is pretty awesome), then brute (because KT is bringing his brute, and not because <45 - we won't be cranking the diff on this run, hehe). -
Quote:Pretty much agree 100% with Rodion on these points (even with my emp/psy defI'm afraid that adding yet another indicator to the team window would encourage players to "watch the dials" instead of the actual combat. This is counterproductive in the long run. The best thing anyone responsible for watching out for team mates should do is to literally watch their team mates.
...
Finally, you should be proactive: prevent a mez from happening in the first place. If there are mezzers in the spawn and you or some team mates are vulnerable to them, make it your job to mez the mezzer first thing. For that reason I always take at least one mezzing attack if it's available.
I find Empathy/Psychic Blast to be a good combination because of the mezzes in Psychic Blast.). Maybe add that some may potentially want different colors for different effects (sleep, immob, held, etc.) and make it harder to read. As well as frequency like those KoA darts that sleep for like 0.1 sec (I use to hate so much the old days and retoggling like every 15 sec when one of those darts hit).
As to the HP bar suggestion, I have no opinion if it should get added. Like mentioned above, I am proactive and watch the battle mostly, so probably never use it - anyways, I am too old to learn new tricks after playing 6 years with my emp def !If anything, it would probably mess up me seeing the HP's in case someone needs healing.

Quote:You're missing the point that a number of us don't see any problems with the servers. Maybe people got tired of CC's? Or are chilling in PD rather now? AP isn't the game since most of the level restrictions have been lifted for zones and there is SSK. Add on that we can set our own diff to team-like levels, the need to team on various things is reduced some. The point I was trying to make was simply "It does not SEEM as populated as it used to be and it is kind of disheartening." I used to be able to log into Guardian and see costume contests in atlas 24/7, people flying around and just chilling on rooftops. Now(or i may just be unlucky) I hardly see any people in atlas. NOT saying this game is dead, or that this game is dying, but the population is so spread out between servers, zones, factions, and with GR coming out the population is going to be spread out even more is might be disheartening to NEW PLAYERS.
There are tools available. Like Grey Pilgrim pointed out earlier, there is a sticky for Victory. We tell people about the globals (like when I am on a PUG and see new players). I would agree with people that a better communication of the globals should be made, like in the tutorial or a new contact in starter zones that you can meet and read about Globals.
Stuff is going on all the time. -
Quote:Oh, I would agree with that too. It is like giving the keys to a top of the line Indy race car to some one who knows how to drive the family sedan. It helps that I still believe that my success as a tank is due as much to my skill as my build.
I think DrMike2000 has a good point in that what more could someone add to a build - HP, def, res, etc. - that could make such a difference?
And if you could make a difference, what would you do with it - solo a TF or AV, defeat a GM - that hasn't been done already?
I won't exclude the possibility that there might be some really awesome thing a player could come up with for a build, but if it so incredible, how is it staying so secret for so long?
Again, if players want to keep their builds to themselves, I respec that. But, I see more often players coming to the forums and posting builds, so eventually their build maybe discovered and revealed, even if they don't admit it. -

I have come across players like that also. Their builds are the most secret things in the world to them. Especially for PvP builds.
But IMO, after 6+ years, and programs like Mids, every possible primary/secondary has been played by someone, people have number crunched countless times for max rech, def, HP, etc., and solo'd most the hardest content (AVs, TFs, GMs, etc.). With other information like the Wiki, you have access to all the numbers, IO sets, and powers, so it is not like there are mysterious extra powers or IOs these players have access too and not letting us know about.
So, in other words, I find it hard to believe some players have found such an uber build that is has remained secret after all this time. But I do understand PvPers like to keep their builds secret and I respect that. I really don't care if people know my build or my set bonuses. My toons are not either the worst or best I have seen. -
Hey all,
Trying again for a Master of the Barracuda SF run this Friday at 930P EST. This is a 45+ SF. All in all this has been a straight forward SF except for that nasty ending (description here).
I am on channels Victory Forum, Victory Badges, and Victory Badges 2009.
Last attempt, we had a great team: Voo, SHamster(can't believe I said that), MG, ohloh, Flux, Talnar, and KT. I would hope we can team up again.
Okay, looking like people will be available:
1. Me (Chillain, cold/ice corr)
2. SHamster (lucky other MM's available!)
3. MG (corr)
4. Talnar (stalker)
5. KT (brute)
6. Voo (there!)
7. ohloh (veat or backup MM)
8. Spiderdragon (MM, if possible, corr, or brute)
Jade Claw first alt (corr or Crab).
Since a Master attempt, I will like to have at least 1 MM. Spider if you are up for it as the MM, it would be appreciated.
Please have inspirations ready and be on time. If we have alts from this forum or from the global channels, and it is 930P, I will take the alts and start the SF. I will not start over if you are late and the team is filled. -
I was originally Penny on the Forums, but changed it to what it is now.
This is become some who should remain nameless (*cough*Voo*cough*) complained that our globals and forum handles were different. Since I couldn't get Penny as a global, I added PA for the state I live in and could get both for forum and global.
Penny was from Pen, which was short for my main when I started Penolope (a Spanish version of Penelope in an article I saw on Penelope Cruz), and rhymes with a name I am familar with...
Anyhow, this has been used pretty much for CoH/V only. Before then, I was sorta out of the whole handle thing.

Quote:I am only pointing out if we had a team wipe, getting back in the mission, especially with these crazy zone load times, could make getting in painful.Eh. If the door is hot and someone has died at that point, who cares if it's hot? It's not like you have to worry about failing to a death.
Quote:And the stalkers temp power is a moot point. M. Bison stands right next to the machine and has maxed out perception; he'll one shot the stalker near every time if he ties to get the temp power. -
Well, first, very good run all and great team make up:
3 corr, 2 VEAT, 1 brute, 1 stalker, and 1 shaMMster.
As the fury one above alluded to, we failed at Reich in that when we were pulling mobs to the hall, some lag bit a player and Reich took a shot. And that was the only death.
Shamster, I will consider to fight in the beginning room, as far away from Reich. My concern is we do mess up (aka a death), then now we have a hot door to enter.
I need to check a few things but I will post again in near future another run (likely next Friday, same time).
EDIT -
Now that my coffee is creeping into my brain, I forgot to add I think we made a mistake too and could have avoided that death. We were pretty much at the end of those mobs in the room. I know the number of mobs has been reduced apparently, but we should have used the stalkers temp power and clean up the last of them. /slaps forehead on that. I was so tired by the end (thanks to kids that never sleep or sleep in like on Saturdays...).

Annnnyhooow....
Cya in a bit! Hopefully the storms won't be too bad here. -
Quote:Then you have some interesting interpretations. It didn't come out as asking.
To me it seemed like you were saying: Despite you being a new player, you must be an idiot for not doing exactly what I think and want you to do.
Oh well, GLHF. /unsigned to your ideas. -
