Quote:Yes it does, it gives them ammo to say "You can turn it off so do so!", then kick them from the team. I see an en/en blast, I know he has KB. Or new players will come and they will be told some far out line that "KB is not popular so you better not use it." and go on believing that KB is a problem since that is how they have played since they started.People can kick KB users now. Providing a choice doesn't really change the status quo.
This on/off business will have more issues then what it solves. -
Quote:I didn't think any of the posts were that bad or Bill being very rude. Eh...Fun topic. Not sure why everyone's butthurt. fifth power to the pools is a good idea considering we're getting free-stamina soon, thus the majority of us will have 3 more slots to fill. While I don't like all of these powers, I like the feel of them.
Once again Bill is being very rude when he could simply say 'no, and heres why:'
Anyhow, I actually like your ideas better for additions to the power pools also and that they have higher requirements to unlock. For the TP one, is that like a way point? So if we are in a zone and click on our map to the mission marker for example, we could TP to it? (Assuming balanced on end/rech/etc.) -

Are you saying that Stealth should have a crit chance then? Even more confusing.
Quote:That's why the Recharge time is so high, to keep holds effective, it's intent is to pretty much be a free Breakfree once every few minutes..
Quote:Maybe make it a self heal. I got the idea from this from Fallout 2 with their Super Stimpacks.
Quote:It's to keep it fairly balanced, since this is a PBAoE power, and not simply a self only or a single target +Rech Boost, and is a power pool. Maybe make a -Regen or -Recov penalty while the power is active
Quote:It's more for the debuff aspect than anything else.
Quote:The Flight/Speed/Jump mastery are to pretty much make the travel powers in themselves a bit more useful, with the added +Def and speed, pretty much. Flight Mastery is like having the benefits of hover on all the time, and it stacks with hover, the same with CJ and Jump Mastery, if Speed had a power like CJ or Hover it would be that too. Maybe make them less End expensive, if possible.
Quote:Eh, could go with the BBQ Pork suggestion. Though I'm not entirely sure what he means by it.
Quote:As for Steampunkette's line about these all being Tier 4. Maybe, some of them I dunno if they should be Tier 4 or earlier. -
Agreeing with Memphis Bill. Not sure what the reasoning behind them or how it would be a good time now to add since incarnates are around the corner.

Quote:And makes more problems than it is worth. You would have people complaining for players to turn off their KB and they won't.Accommodating both groups is possible and IMO a much better use of developer time than trivia like power customization.
You would STILL have posts about players that don't want KB and want it removed so that they don't run into players that won't turn off their KB.
And KD is overpowered in that it doesn't move the mobs out of the way of attacks. So now you have a mob control in place and can still use AOE damage without moving. Plus players could possibly never learn how to use KB correctly because they were told to turn it off when they started either the game or a new toon with KB powers for the first time.
Always glad to know the devs failed to make that -KB enhancement they mentioned. Hope to never see that in the game. -
OMG! I am so sorry to hear. I hope no one was hurt and that you will recover quickly.

Quote:Just my additional 2 inf.i really don't care, just do something about these bad designs.
I disagree on the bad design. I view it as good design becuase the devs have to build a game around what is their vision/expectation of the ATs. Yes, at lvl41, you get APP/PPP or that you have to give up a power slot to take boxing, etc. But the devs can take that into consideration when designing mobs and content to keep us playing.
Giving players even more freedom/flexibility creates a larger matrix to cover for making things still challenging to us. Getting rid of boxing so we can pick up some more powerful (another attack from pri/sec) makes us overcome their obstacles more easily. So tougher mobs/content, which may or may not equal more fun. Like a suggestion to bring APP/PPP's into the 30's. Well, I guess those mobs we fight will get brought down too (I prefer not to fight Malta in the 30's although I know Carnies are in the 30's for redside) or should they toughen the mobs in the 30's since we will have APP/PPP's that cover the holes in our ATs? Egads, I really don't want to see the earth CoT casters made any tougher.
It is interesting Fitness is changing. It makes me wonder what new challenges are coming. Especially after going through Gold-side. Those extra powers are going to be more valuable. -
Hamster, I am shocked you didn't have "the bigger picture" in your post. Great set up!!
Anyhow, I am more in the camp against nickel and diming. This goes on enough in all areas of life. Some of the items in this new pack are great, others "won't see the light of day" by me.
The cost is nothing also, maybe a day's worth of coffee or a glass of wine at dinner. I am just not liking the direction of paying for all these little add ons. Yeah, it took some time for some one to program and such, but there is no further cost of material. It is all electronic and can be "copied" many times over for players. -
/signed X100. Add in Carnie blades too!

Quote:If mentioned elsewhere, I am missing where it was said (or if in another thread). Didn't mean to repeat and was just throwing out options for both sides. As far as a second build letting you skip it, as mentioned elsewhere? By that time you're 10. Think of it as a free set of slots to go somewhere else if you don't think you'll need it any longer.
But for other builds as an option, this would still force your primary build to have things like hide. So you get 10 lvls of experience with the T1 and then have a better (not the best maybe) opinion if you still want it or not. Changing builds at 10 shouldn't be much of a hassle for slotting either. And getting to 10 isn't a very long trip to make IME.
Of course, there are older toons that may want to change builds and have multiple IOs sets they want to keep, but that is another thread. -
Quote:Oh, I agree and thanks for clarifying what I meantJust want to comment on your last sentence as I keep seeing players say this. Incarnates aren't traditional slots in powers. They are UNIVERSAL global buffs. They do allow you to shift around what you can slot using IOs, but they are not traditional slots you put in powers.
Just wanted to clarify that.
With that said I would not object to something like the OMEGA Incarnate Level (one of the last Incarnate levels) granting more in-power screen slots as part of it's rewards.. That last bit about the Omega level are the rumors I was thinking of where there would be an incarnate power to have more slots. Not that the incarnates are more slots.

Maybe I am not seeing any of this in the articles, but didn't anyone foresee the Hobbit being made when they were preparing for LotR? They didn't add in a clause saying something like we reserve the rights to come back at some future time to shoot one more movie?
-
Okay, I am still against the OP's suggestion and Zombie's whim of an reasoning.
I see nothing broken to be fixed. But how about another possibility with multiple builds? I recall seeing something on another build for incarnates and we have dual builds. What if to "please" both camps, the primary build is as-is. But either the second or the "incarnate" build (for lack of a better name), allow T1/T2 for secondaries. That way people can drop that nasty T1 they utterly hate so much. -
Can't agree with the suggestion either. If anything, slots aren't powers, so this isn't even a "power pool".
But for the slots we have now, we have to make choices. There are some powersets that would benefit with a few extra slots, there are others that are literally overflowing in slots (as examples, my widow was starving for slots in powers, whereas my grav/ff controller was throwing away slots in stuff I thought I would never slot but had to use them to level up).
Add in on top we will get incarnates, so the future may bring changes. -
What is dumb is someone putting words in other people's posts. I know I didn't say no, only that there is nothing broken as stated in the OP and that the current system works as-is after 6 years.
People who make up things are the ones to be ridiculed and told they're not allowed to participate in discussions anymore. -
You easily six slot 3 of the powers. And this has been brought up before regarding the power. After taking 3 from those pools, what is so important, must-have to a toon that it has to be 6-slotted? Especially, when you are at 49/50 already, there isn't much difference.
Add in that if you use the tools in the game like IOs and frankenslotting to get the same effect as SOs or generic IOs. Yes, they are optional and not required, but players that do use them can be even more powerful (I do this on my new brute in melee attacks with all my dam/rech/end/acc increased like generic slotting 3 dam/1 acc/1 end/1 rech but in 5 slots, so I put a proc in the 6th slot). -
-
I am still interested. Will check early next week if I can make the 26th.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
Tough one. The tech auras would go great with a few of my toons. But that is about it. Maybe someday, but no rush to do so. -
Ah, I see now. I got confused when it was mentioned on quit - I thought you meant out of the game rather than switching toons. I thought I19 was making a change to this (and I could be completely imagining that since coffee not at 100% yet!
).
A number of threads have suggested this and I always would like something different for switching toons while playing.
