I get "The game client was unable to connect to the login server" on both Test and Beta, although I'm able to get into Live.
-
I'm on a dummy account now, with the lowest reward level that can join a super group, and I can edit.
-
On Live the option to pay rent is always there at the registrar. In Beta, the option was not visible when I was a Premium player, even though the character had a fairly high SG rank. I can confirm most of the other things - as a Tier 7 or 9 Premium I could edit a base or invite members, but not form a new SG. I've bugged and mentioned in the closed beta forums the problem with consumable Vet Reward items.
Also SG logo decorations are currently bugged - have been for a month or more - all the emblems are the biohazard symbol. -
Live and Test clients are currently identical.

Fear my mad leet MSPaint skills.
It's a pretty crappy illustration. -
If the force is being applied by a second object pressing against a 45 degree incline, then 0.707 (half the square root of 2, from trigonometry) is applied perpendicular to the incline, so the movable object tends to resist that component. The component parallel to the incline is irrelevant to the object being pushed.
0.707 of that force ends up being parallel to the X axis, so the object is propelled by a net force in that direction of 0.707 x 0.707 = 0.5 times the weight (thrust, whatever) of the second object. This continues until the driving object falls off the end of the incline. -
If the force being applied is perpendicular to the X axis, then the X component of the force is zero and the object doesn't move. The situation is just like an object sitting on an ice skating rink, with gravity pressing it downward.

Oh yes - my favorite pack is the Superscience booster. Complete control over your character model and scaling at the tailor? Shazam!

What's an 'airspeed velocity?'

I received my Lucky badge on the 2nd, though I didn't notice it until this morning.

If anyone mentioned this, I missed it. Here are the commands for the new emotes:
/em heroloyal
/em vigilanteloyal
/em villainloyal
/em rogueloyal -
Since target dummies aren't even supposed to shoot back, their missing indicates a deeper problem.

I'm using 10.8 after having that problem with 10.11 and 11.1. 10.8 works for me. I didn't try 10.9.

I have a 5500 series card, and XP 32-bit, so my experience might not apply. I was having the same problem with the driver version you're running. It would crash at least once a week, usually if my Contacts window was open. I tried upgrading to the 8.812 drivers (Catalyst 11.1) but that made it virtually unplayable, crashing hard every session and occasionally in other OpenGL apps. I installed the 8.762 driver (Catalyst 10.8) and the problem mostly went away.
The Catalyst 11.2 suite is out, but I haven't downloaded it. -
Quote:I intended to try patching identical directories with the old and new updaters. I didn't take notes of what files I copied and from where, so I might have made a mistake. Today, though, a fresh copy from my Live folder to an empty Test folder seems to want 8.5 MB with the new updater, and only around 2 MB with the old.Just to point out, there *was* a patch for the test server (at least EU side) yesterday, that was around 25MB.....
Different numbers from last night, and I don't know why, but the same size ratio between updaters. I expect I was working with copies that weren't identical to Live last night. Erm, from what notes I did find it seems I was patching from 1950.201102010039.0 last night and from 1950.201102120907.1 this evening, so there's the difference. -
The new updater downloaded 27.3 MB to bring the Test Server up to date. With the identical game installation, the old updater only downloaded 7.1 MB. The file sizes were reflected in the download times. If all patches will be this inefficient from now on, those of us with slow connections will see four times longer downloads on every patch. Only players with extremely fast connections will benefit, and then only if the new mirrors can bypass a bottleneck that choked their connections to 25% of capacity.

It would be worth a try to move the updater out of C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\ and put it somewhere else, such as a new directory C:\Program Files\City Updater\. Change the desktop shortcut to match the new location, or just paste a new shortcut and delete the old. When you get the game to run, delete any new copy of the updater it creates in C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\.

Both of those just happened to me in the Peregrine Island Mayhem. I wonder if I'd exited the vault area immediately I might have been able to find Cacophony.

I haven't tested this rigorously, but it seems like you need to have done the Intro to Ouroboros also.

I've been getting costume drops, solo and in a level-appropriate zone. However, all badges I've gotten have been from Tricks, not Treats. I have an ex-Praetorian Roguish Brute that got all three costume badges from Trick doors, before engaging the spawns.
