  1. Just a clarification, Antacid and Well-Stocked are WAI, it's Lambda Looter that's bugged.

The hints for these particular badges don't go far enough in explaining the details. There’s additional confusion due to a bug where one of the badges is improperly awarding the other two.
The "fix" for the first two is a text correction in the badge descriptions. The fix for LL is that it shouldn't be awarding the other two as well. Once this patch hits live, you'll be forced to run it a minimum of three times, all with the same basic requirement (get the extremely helpful temps, but don't use any).

Whoever decided these badge requirements needs to play the game before making such ridiculous decisions.

  4. Sorry I missed last week, didn't notice the earlier start time. Logged in, saw you had 8, went back to grinding the BAF into oblivion. I'll be here this week.
  5. Favorite cutscene? The one-liner with Calystix. Something like "They shall not succeed!", the end. Not sure that one's even in the game anymore.

Least favorite? Probably Reichsman's conversation with Roderick Mueller in the 5th Column Strike Force. The BAF cutscene and "Keep it together, Shalice!" are a very close second and third.

I would highly doubt it. I can't be sure, but I would guess that the game cannot tell the difference between the items in the sabotage and outside. The three item badges most likely have two triggers:

    1) Did you get all 10 items of type X from the sabotage phase? If yes, go to 2. If no, go to 3.
    2) Did any items of type X get used in the Marauder fight? If no, award badge. If yes, go to 3.
    3) Do not award badge.

That is, it only checks whether or not an item was used at all, not whether it's from the lab/warehouse or courtyard. Again, this is just a guess and until the badges are unbugged, there's no way to know for sure.

When completing the trial using no Molecular Acids, are you just ignoring the mobs and focusing on Marauder? Or are you intercepting the reinforcements?
As far as I can tell, when he's enraged he's affected by Unstoppable and Vengeance. Using a grenade negates them. I assume if you bring enough debuffs and exotic damage, killing him without grenades would be easy. He doesn't have his normal Unstoppable for the trial, for some reason. We managed to knock off about 40% of his health without a single grenade, but it was taking too long and we wouldn't have finished in time, so we all decided we'd rather complete the trial than do all this work and fail due to this one thing.

I was on a Mind Control Dominator for Kotchie's run. I spent most of my time locking down or confusing the reinforcements, which thinned out the incoming damage a lot.

We tried the collect 10 Pacification Grenades, but wasn't able to take him dwn in time, we had him down to 4% life but not enough time. So this will be done soonish
Kotchie's team on Friday night hit the same bug. We met the requirements for Antacid but didn't get the badge. Unfortunately, we were no where near the 4% you got him down to, lol. We started lobbing grenades around 60% with only 7-8 minutes left so that we could at least finish. Managed to defeat him with something around 45 seconds left.

Kotchie didn't log on until about 9:45 and we didn't get started on the actual Lambda run until about 10:15 due to team forming, mapserving and instruction. As for the run itself, we managed to finish but apparently Antacid is bugged. We got all 10 grenades and acids from the sabotage phase and didn't use any acid, but the badge didn't award.

Synchronized badge: chat/server lag caused teams to destroy them >2 seconds apart. Failed.

Well-Stocked badge: met Antacid requirement, but did not also meet Lambda Looter requirement. Failed.

Antacid badge: we got all 10 acids and used none, but the badge didn't award. Several members of the team petitioned it and if they're like me, they're waiting for a senior rep to respond. Bugged.

Lambda Looter badge: we could only get Marauder down to about 61% Health after 13 minutes, so we just decided to start using grenades so we could at least finish the trial. Failed.

Note: Lambda Looter is also being reported as bugged by other teams that manage to not use any grenades.

Still, my Interface slot unlocked during the run and we managed to take down the big dog, so it wasn't a waste of time.

Domination has always provided mez protection, to all types of mezzing. Stuns, holds, immobilizes, sleeps, knockback, knockdown, fear, repel; everything. You can also activate it while mezzed as a Break Free-like effect.

Did you notice that Dominators are a semi-requested AT now? They weren't always that way, even for the LRSF. I remember when people used to LOL at my Dominator back when CoV released; it usually got a pity spot on teams and Strike Forces.

Did you miss the two where you can't use any acid either? The grenades just make Marauder hit softer (-dam) and get hit more often (-def). They truely aren't necessary to win, they just make the aggro holder not die as often. The acid on the other hand....I don't know how it's even possible to win without using.

BTW, where are we meeting up tonight? Pocket D? RWZ? Midnighter Club/Cimerora?

And for those unfamiliar with the Mo badge requirements:

    Behavioral Adjustment Facility trial
Not On My Watch badge: Allow no Mindwashed Prisoners to escape.
Alarm Raiser badge: Never disable a Guard Tower using the controls at its base.
Gotta Keep 'Em Separated badge: Defeat Siege & Nightstar without moving them from their initial locations.
Strong and Pretty badge: Defeat Siege & Nightstar while none of their reinforcements are alive.

    Lambda Sector trial
Synchronized badge: Destroy a Weapons Cache and an Incubation Pod within 2 seconds of each other.
Well-Stocked badge: Complete the trial having acquired 10 Pacification Grenades and 10 Molecular Acids but using none of them.
Antacid badge: Complete the trial having acquired 10 Molecular Acids but using none of them.
Lambda Looter badge: Complete the trial having acquired 10 Pacification Grenades and using none of them.

I have an "unkillable" (ignoring psi damage >.>) Invul/SS Mids build if you want it. Probably cost you around 300-500 million inf to build (assuming you use Hero merits to buy some of the parts), so it's not a bank breaker. Possibly less if you have some of the stuff lying around and/or get lucky on market bids. Course, JFS might kick you out if you slot it, lol.
  16. Just wanted to thank you for this. Currently on one of the Longbow hunts during an Officer Renault Strike Force. First zombies in Nerva, then banners immediately after. We managed to kill 2/10 Longbow in ~30 minutes. Again, thanks.
  17. 3 simple changes that would make the game infinitely more "fun", IMO.

    1. All attacks against destroyable mission object(ive)s become auto-hit. Ever punched a wall or other stationary object and missed? Similarly, a Stalker attacking with Assassin's Strike while in Hide should auto-hit (/stalker rant).
    2. All attacks against enemies ≥X levels lower than yours are auto-hit. As a balance factor, all attacks against enemies ≥X level higher than yours are auto-miss. The idea that you can MISS an enemy 25 levels lower than you is rediculous.
    3. Not "simple" per se, but currency consolidation would allow people to play whatever they want instead of doing only X task for Y reward.

3 long-term changes that the game needs, IMO.

    1. New graphics engine, primarily character models.
    2. Move away from the outdated D&D d20 mechanics. There are better systems for rolling to-hit values these days.
    3. Revamp the Hero and Villain tutorials, level 1-15 contacts, and the structure of Paragon City. Make it feel and look more like a real city, instead of a haphazard collection of zones.
  18. [Freedom TF Chat]Captain Power: ok, so I'm not going to be able to play, I was just knocked offline due to a power loss.......I only have a few seconds of power left to tell you guys.....battery power will not last for the TF

    Just a head's up.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that (quotes shortened to reduce post size). What I truely wanted from CoX endgame was more choices, not more problems.
  22. Consistancy check passed without any downloads.

Further testing has shown that this bug doesn't seem to be affecting all my characters. My older toons do not seem to change, but newer ones adopt.

For instance, a Blaster I created on 12/18/2010 adopts every time I log out one toon and log into it. Same with a Stalker I created in the last few months.

Example of Stalker. Logged in today at RGBO settings of 25/0/25/53 (which was adopted yesterday from my Dominator), then logged out. Logged in another toon (unaffected by carry-over) with settings at 50/50/50/53, then logged out. Logged Stalker back in, settings are now 50/50/50/53.

I would check all of my characters on Freedom, but my account got locked the last time I did mass login/logout type stuff. I've probably thrown up a flag or two just doing the logins/logouts I have already done, lol.

Will look into this solution later this afternoon.
  23. This began with the NCsoft launcher "upgrade". If you customize the color of a character's UI then log out (not quit to desktop), the customization carries over to the next character you log in. Previously, each character kept its own customization, so you could have the default Hero blue for one toon, Villain red for another, purple for yet another, green on another, etc. Now, unless you quit to desktop, the color setting carries over.

Off-topic, but this reminds me of season 3 of Gargoyles, Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles. Disney decided to cut Greg Weisman (the show's creator and producer) out of the picture. As a result, season 3 doesn't feel anything like seasons 1 and 2 (and isn't considered canon by the fanbase). Not sure what our development team did to its writing staff following Issue 12, but the writing has definitely gone downhill.

On-topic, I never asked to be an Incarnate. I was perfectly happy having Statestwink, Recluse, Trapdoor, and the various other NPCs being "special" and so on. That's part of the RPG genre: NPCs will always be more powerful than PCs. When they announced that Incarnates were coming, I could only sigh to myself. After seeing Invention System 2.0 on beta, I wished there was a facepalm emote. While I will continue to take part in the "Incarnate experience", I have basically decided to completely ignore the "story" that's being presented. Which makes me sad penguin. CoX used to be the only MMO that I actually took the time to read all the dialog/story/clues/souvenirs/etc.
