can we still access the test server to putter around with toons?

I tried to log in the test server, but it shows the "UNNAMED" server and clicking on it eventually gives an error message that it can't contact the SB server
.

using any of the -auth options doesn't get past the log in screen, claiming there is a problem contacting the auth server. -

I see, use toggleon rather than powexec so it is in a known state on both "scans" of the command (down and up key)
Unfortunately this only works to turn on, I would need another key to turn off rather than have it toggle on/off using the same key.
Not sure I want to retrain my fingers that way. May have to be content with clicking them separately. -
I'd liek to be able to toggle both ninja run and run at once, preferably with a macro, but bind would be OK.
I can't seem to figure it out, at least not without having to reload a bind file on every activation -

I'd like to get both Domination and Hasten on auto on my permadom/permahasten dominator.
Is there a way to achieve the equivalent to of 2 auto powers? I can bind one to the forward key (close enough to auto, I move all the time) but end up with the "Recharging" message floating over my head all the time.
... and that sound it makes too! -

I never take a build as gospel
I had started playing with the starting point Rangle provided. In fact since I'm still not sure about what I have so far (I tend to overthink builds, it's a big part of my enjoyment of the game), I think I'll use the freespec to save extract IOs and worry about rebuilding him only later rather than rush in now.
the builds are definitely not outrageously expensive, and I like Rangle's idea to go for the accolades, that'll give me "something to do" other than running iTrials like mad.
Any thoughts on Incarnate attributes? I assume the Pyro judegement doesn't get boosted by Fiery Embrace? still will probably go for it for thematic reasons, same for the proc, although -toHit from diamagnetic may actually be a good layer on top of the defense. -
that's what I was afraid of, the toon needed a full retread, not a whole lot that can be done with what's currently equipped. I just hate to throw crafted IOs away as part of a respec, but most of what's in it currently is pretty cheap anyway.
Maybe I'll use the freespec to unslot 10 IOs I want to move out of the build, then use the i21 freespec to actually rebuild the toon (saving another 10 IOs in the process).
I need to read up on Ice Melee, I think I read a tanker post recently that said that Greater Ice Sword is one of the worse powers in the game. -

I rejoined the game a few weeks ago after leaving shortly after i13 hit.
I haven't had time to pay attention or even play several of my characters. I expected to have more time before i21 hit to play and refine them to at least get rid of the fitness pool with my i20 freespec before I lose it.
Well, i21 is around the corner and I have to scramble.
Here's the current build in my Fire/Ice Tank. I can't even tell for sure what I was trying to go for as far as bonuses, I think I was mostly concentrating on keeping it somewaht cheap, and got some regen, some recovery and some recharge out of it?
I wanted this build to be AoE oriented (I don't farm but I think it was as close to a farming build I have made)
Are there a few quick/cheap tweaks I can make with my i20 freespec in preparation for i21? Ideally I'd like to build on what's there so I don;t have to sell/buy a bunch of IOS before the character is playable again.
I think I should take Frost?
Is -9.75% -rez on Melt Armor worth taking?
If I had to start the build over, I think I would go for more regen and +HP, but maybe that's for a future build

thanks, I didn't realize there was such a strong damage gap between correct and blaster. I already have a plant domain so I think i'm going to stick with the corruptor idea.

I've made justice my home, I have a few rooms elsewhere but nothing serious.
Are you guys planning on staying on Justice or bailing to another server, possibly exalted?
I'm creating a new toon or two on exalted for the headstart events but beyond that I want to be where the action is. hopefully that remains Justice, it'd get expensive to transfer everyone.... -
now that the line between villains and heroes is blurred and power sets overlap, what are the prone and cons of the 3 ranged damage ATs?
to be more specific I'm thinking about making an AoE centric character and was leaning towards fire (I've done ice before and liked it too so it's an option). my original thought was to make a corruptor and pair fire with dark miasma for the mitigation and Tar Patch for -Res, but now I'm not sure and I don't fully understand the pros and cons of the corruptor. -
I agree, there are plenty of visible incentives to get players to go VIP.

thanks, those links helped lot even though the kids are pretty disappointed to lose so much. we hadn't expected to lose existing ATs or have already equipped enhancements go gray.

actually the kids account are quite recent, just a few months, we bought the hype about being able to switch to premium, but right now the limitation on a young premium account feel rather staggering.

I will keep subscribing but planning on going free for the kids, accounts.
where is the info on what you're left with once you go free? do loose your current characters (even if they're just "frozen) since premium accounts have only 2(?) slots, or do you get to pick what characters move on to the free game?
my kid's primary toon is a warshade, will he have to give it up be because only VIP players get EATs?

The_Laughing_Man, how do the imps do? they're still lower level than you and aren't affected by bonuses, so it seems that even wtih 50% Acc slotted they'd miss quite a bit?
Do you use Cinders much or is it mostly a mule for sets? at least it's down to 1 minute recharge
I want to grab recall Friend for TFs so I was hesitating between ditching Smoke or Cinders...
