> I don't run the tip missions on all my characters - especially older ones that started and are staying an alignment.
THAT -
well I found that in the patch notes:
Players must now be confirmed as Heroes or Villains (i.e., their most recent Morality Mission confirmed their alignment) in order to claim Alignment Merits as rewards from Signature Story Arcs
Don't know if I missed it earlier or if they updated the patch notes
Since you can't do tips until lvl20, this is preventing toons lower than 20 to get Merit Rewards
what's next? SSAs limited to level 50 to force you to level your toons to 50?
Way to piss off paying customers. -
I'm VIP.
I ran 2 SSA1s this morning and for both I got a message saying I couldn't get a Hero Merit because I needed to run my latest morality mission 1st.
It's been over a week since I ran SSA1 on either toon, so that's not the problem.
Neither toon had a morality mission outstanding. patch says nothing about now forcing you to run a morality mission before you can earn hero merits (which would be @#$@#$)
petition filed.

As someone said in another thread, make a BR/TA/Mace and call him Captain Redraw!
Seriously though, some people get bothered by redraw, others don't, but I love the utility of TA and you can conceptually go for a "hot shot" master of all weapons kind of theme.
I have decided to try Br/NRG because I can make a decent one (read Ranged Def Cap) with relatively cheap sets (T-Strike, Mako, Posi Blast)
If Corruptors ever get FF, I'll make a BR/FF Corr since the damage is scaled up frmo a Defender. -
My WP/Mace is only mid-level, and I rarely play tanks.
All your builds have a huge emphasis on Accuracy/toHit/Perception. Is that a Mace thing or a Tanker thing? -
Poison is too active to fit well with BR in my opinion. You either want set and forget like FF or front loaded like Dev, Trap, Dark or Rad so once you start firing your BR, you only stop when they're dead.
-
once disintegration is on, other BR attacks spread it to adjacent targets. this makes it important baddies stay grouped.
-
never played MM so interested to see how you made it synergize with Beam.
-
I'm having trouble finding synergies with Beam. I don't want Dark or Traps, been there, done that.
must be both solo and team friendly
no purples, but other expensive sets are OK, although I'd like to keep it on the cheaper side. -
my comment about FF offering no Res debug made me think about Rad.
it's a bit similar to Dark in that it helps not get hit (a little) and kill faster.
the problem is that the BR mechanics are anchor-like so both sets would rely on finding targets in the group that may die last. on the other hand, if they die, who cares?
maybe I'll check the Corr forums for this combo. -
I'd be all over BR/FF if it was available as a corruptor set, but a defender damage levels and without -Res its damage is likely to be meh.
BR/sonic is available to Corruptors, but it's hard slotting for defense with that combo and +Res is not sufficient to make a corruptor survivable. the Mezz protection bubble is the only nice power. -
I'm regretting using my paragon points on Beam Rifle, at least for the purpose of making a new blaster. I just can't find a good synergy.
BR is very much a ranged set that benefits from good positioning. That should be right up my alley, I love cones because they are more interesting to play.
But the set itself has not tools to make sure you can leave the baddies in position, both for max effectiveness and for your protection, and most blaster secondaries don't either: if I'm a ranged Boss killer, I don't want to be spending my time killing minions in melee.
A BR/Dark Corruptor is the first thing that sprang to mind after I read about the set: /Dark has cone fear to help you set up seafely, Tar Patch for -Res and making sure the bad guys stay grouped for disintegration spread, lots of -toHit to laugh at the minions,....
Unfortunately I have a Fire/Dark Corruptor and a Dark/Sonic Defender, both of which are absolute monsters (the defender can solos +2x8 at 50) so I don't want to do Dark Miasma again.
So the way I look at blasters, their secondary is more a set of mule powers with a few utilities than something you actually use in combat. The best "secondary" for Beam is Ranged Defense
/Dev is a great set for slotting Ranged def, but my main is NRG/Dev and I don't want another /Dev blaster.
The best non /Dev combo I came up with is BR/EM: Mako's bite in the EM ST powers and T-Strike in the beam ST power for Ranged Defense. Power Boost and Boost Range being the 2 utilities powers. Leaves room for Weave, Aid Self hover or possibly SS+stealth IO for easier positioning.
Seems quite serviceable, but not so different from my NRG/Dev hover blaster, so I can't convince myself I want to play the combo. I want something that feels different, so maybe I should give up on beam (hence my title) and try Elec/Elec or something that plays differently.
I haven't yet looked at BR/MM because I'm not familiar with MM, at least it gets you another cone.
Outside of /Dark, I'm not seeing any great synergies on the Corruptor side either. /Traps is just as slow as /Dev so would be used as a mule mostly, although FFG is great. -
The Kismet +Acc is probably overkill after the set bonuses, so you could get your 3rd slot in Hasten instead, or use it somewhere else.
This was a good build to start with and EJI made it even better. I think I might steal it almost as-is
I would replace the kismet with another LoTG to another +10% regen bonus -
-
wow, 7 sets from the random rolls? that's a lot of tries or a lot of luck
-
Can you tell me more about the synergy with time? (/time seems great with so many things, is it better with Elec?)
I've seen people raving about /poison too
since Elec and poison are two set I tried but didn;t like (didn't give a chance to?) I'm thinking about trying Elec/Poison to 38 as an experiment. -
Quote:Are you sure you're not thinking about the Merit vendor instead of the ticket vendor? that slider works as you describe.Oddly, that level slider use to work where you could set it and you'd only get recipes to that maximum level. Like if you were 50 you could set to 35 and just get level 35 recipes as your max.
They've seemed to change this at some point, no idea when, to only showing you options for the level you set. You still get recipes relative to your level. Made me sad when I realized it no longer worked this way. -
any middle of the road builds price-wise? I guess that mostly means no purples. with the sig arc merits I can actually afford the LoTGs
I just started an Ill/Cold on a whim, I think I want lots of recharge and S/L defense, or possibly ranged defense if it's easier to achieve, but at lvl15 I haven't yet fully started to figure out how to play with all the toys it offers. -
pardon my ignorance but I just posted about wanting to make an Elec/ controller and poison is secondary I only dabbled with as an MM.
What are the synergies, how do you play it?
is the control that great that you don;t seem to go for any def or res from the set bonuses? -
Electric control is the only control set I have never played, so I was thinking about giving it a try.
The main reason I have never played it is that it doesn't look great on paper in my opinion, damage and multitarget control doesn't seem as good as some of the other sets.
On the other hand I some some thread bragging about doing AVs on Elec/Cold, so maybe a ST oriented controller could be a nice change.
Are there any guides on the set, especially some that talk about synergies and strategies on how play a controller?
Since everyone's playstyle is different, I'll tell you that I love my plant/TA, plant/Storm, Fire/Storm, Fire/Kin and Fire/Storm controllers, but am bored to death with my earth/rad controller (so much control, but no damage), so you can see I tend to be the more aggressive type.
Should I look at a dominator instead? (I have only one, Plant/Thorn that is perma-hasten, perma-dom, S/L def capped, so sure, she's fun to play!) -
Thanks all, it was fun, adn the Hami Seed 2nd feature was a welcome bonus
-
I'd like to join with Clair de Lune, lvl50 warshade
global: @Myrtille
I can bring something else to fill the need, and would bring my fire/dark corruptor if he's in range by then (not likely, but I have the day off today!) -
best way to be survivable solo is yto up the mob count for mires. play at -1x8 and see if it helps
-
Very viable, very fun (the otehr one that's as much fun is Fire/Storm by the way).
I rerolled on on Exalted and this is my currently planned build, although I may adjust as I go. I went nuts on recharge for AoE goodness

Are there any guides for either DP or Time or the combo? they're not listed in the list of guides.
I'm finding the combo quite fun and might even write my own guide once I level it up if there are no guides out there
