    ITF Weekdays

I can make this one if you still have room...@PapaSlade or @Gibraltar let me know if you are looking for a certain AT but I think I still need to get this done on my Eng/Dark stalker if possible.
  2. Holloween!!!!!! Please oh please oh please let the trick or treat mobs spawn for difficulty level. I want to line up a b unch of people on the same half block with their diffs cranked to the max (+4/x8). Eveyone picks a viable door (not sure if teaming effects the timer mechanism) and we all knock at once.

Instant block party!! Witches, Werewolves, Ghosts, Zombies, Vampires and Pumpkin People for everyone!

    King of AoE?

I have been partial to my Dark/Fire/Mu brute lately. Fiery Aura,Soul drain, fiery embrace, electric fences, burn, electric ball...it has two end recoveries that will do some damage and draw agrro and has two heals.

Once he gets rolling with some fury he can do some silly mob melting.

I am also personally looking forward to making an Archery/TA corr just to try out the oil slick/flaming arrow/rain of arrows exploding arrow combination.
  4. I did have a chance to kick the tires on a couple things while on test but I only have one of my 50's on the test server and that is a corr. So, the first thing I did was grab my dark/fire/Mu Brute and run the Liberate TV mish as a 6 man team. Electric fences/soul drain/burn is very fun and will be even more fun when I crank it up a notch or two. Difficulty sliding is an A++

Then I had to see what energize did for my SS/elec/Mu brute...absolutely thrilled...this will allow a heathly respec out of the healing pool and likely dropping hurl and into the fighting pool...or maybe leadership...either way a more survivable and enjoyable toon. A+

SSK is an A+ hands down...nothing more needs to be said.

I messed with them some on test but never got the chance to play with colors live last night, however, the highlight of my night may have been when a newer player in a coalition SG was being a little "blah" in chat about the whole color thing...until he jumped on a Death Surge team in Cap which happened to have a couple of my freshly recolored SG mates on it. After that team he could not get to the tailor fast enough. Showing people just how good this issue really is: A+++++
  5. Unfortunately I have to agree with Fanci. I have had my usual nightly play session cut in half due to work the past 5 months. The City just seems a little empty these days.
  6. I tried it out for a couple days during the open beta and that was enough for me. I just really did not like the feel of it and the mission objective stealing was a big turn off. Me likey my 30 or so toons on Triumph just fine. That and the wife might pull a Bobbit on me if I start playing another game.
  7. Yes but Ghost likes to play tiny little Catholic School girl toons so virtue is perfect for him. Not that there is anything wrong with that...to each their own
  8. Well I was all psyched up to make WeeWee the Ice Troll but the whole no yellow colored ice ruined my dreams on that one...I suppose I could finally make Princess Pewp Castle (earth/earth dom).

I will probably just make a Rad/something blaster and an Arch/TA Corr. I really like the theory of oil slick/flaming arrow/rain of arrows/exploding arrow...of course getting to that point could suck.

Oh...and I might finally make The Sod Father (Plant/earth assault dom)

I don't know that I will make much else. I have too many alts across two accounts that I still need to play for me to try out much else right now.
  9. Ok....yeah...I have a toon on virtue but its only lvl 9 and has 6 day job badges so he really doesn't get out much and what is the +gym business??? not even married yet and she is already trying to "improve" you?

but seriously...best of luck on everything and any work is good work for lots of folks these days so take it when you can get it.

Was a fun run last night and I am glad I was able to get it done on a corr that is built rather silly...I should use that respec this weekend before it goes poof.
  10. Stone is about the only Brute secondary that I have not run in the over three years I have been playing. Part of the reason is the work needed to get past the lumbering slow-moe travel (I hate TP for travel...and I mean HATE it) and the fact that when you get to be all big and bad you sorta cease to be "you" and become the same thing as everybody else.

So, given what I have seen this dev team come up with recently as far as customization. I would love to roll the dice on BABS and the rest of the kids working Granite over.

I vote change. (Hint..an animation that pulled chunks of rock up out of the ground to cover your character might be kinda cool too)
  11. I would love to run another LRSF. I can probably get home and ready by the 8pm central start time. I would be more than happy to bring my mind dom who has already completed this but I also have a fire/rad corr, a nitewidow, a stalker or several brutes I could bring.

and booooo Boomie's work....you still killin chickens Boomie??? Married yet?? You spend so much time with the catgirls on Virtue these days that I forget what is up in your life. That or I am old and forget...

    what was I talking about???

    Is there a TF tonite??
  12. Sam I couldn't agree more. I love doing stuff like this and did something very similar with my Claws/Regen scrapper when he was that level. Heck I even did it with my archery/devices blaster who could stealth about and cherry pick her targets all over those sewers. Although Rikti drones would cause some pause.

I will aimlessly wander around Eden hunting DE. I will run the tunnel in faultline. I will start at the bridge in Nerva and see how much damage my brute can dish out as he goes to the far side of the longbow base and back. I will do the same thing in the Fab (I love the fab) but I always take the tunnel across and fight my way from the bottom to the top. Dark Astoria can be an absolute blast to run around in.

The best part for me is that in a lot of these places you just don't know what is going to be around the next corner or up ahead in the fog. There is a combination of challenge and change of pace that I really like. Are the spawn points as predictable as a scanner/paper map, probably, but I do not do these things near as often so the newness has not washed off for me yet after more than three years. I just wish there was more of it red side as that is where I spend most of my time.

I think they missed a real opportunity to put a Roman style sewer map under Cimarora (sp?) but there is nothing to say that won't be added later and I will not bemoan what we do not have when there is still a ton of stuff to do. I can't wait to see what they have in GR. I have high hopes for all kinds of new places to explore. I may do a little tonight now that I think about it.
  13. Let's see...

I have a Corr, my first 50, that uses "Oodles of Poodle Noodles!!" long story behind that one but still my favorite.

I have a little lizard mace brute that uses "Fear my Giant Bone!" for obvious reasons

I have a little troll looking guy that uses "Oli Oli Oxen Free!!" I just find that one funny

My Stalker uses "SURVEY SAYS! YOU"RE DEAD!" What can I say? Richard Dawson was the best family fued host ever.

I have a sonic corr whose battle cry is " " because her back story says she is a mute. Thats right, I play a mute sonic corr. I really need to move that toon to Virtue.

I used to have a Fire/Thermal corr named London Broil (looked like a cow) and he used "Who's cookin who now!?!" He had anger issues.

I actually changed my BC on a toon mid mish to "Don't follow the Stalker!!" when we were on a steam rolling team and the stalker would run ahead and stand in the middle of a huge mob around the next corner and not say anything just to see who would coming running up behind him and get whacked. The sad thing is I was on vent with this player and he would run around the corner and say "Whoa" and I would still follow him around the corner like a doofus completely forgeting he was hidden.
  14. I get this alot on Triumph. At home, in Chicago, I am on Comcast and the road I play on an AT&T air card from my palatial van down by the river. I thought it was just the air card but then my main comp did it last time I was home. Lots of rubber banding while solo in mishes and just trying to travel across a zone. If cat girls and crazy people didnt give me the heebie-jeebies I would join some friends on Virtue...yeesh I feel dirty just saying it.

I have had the same problem with this several times and for me it always seemed to be those double rounded lab doors. Others said they were open but I had to basically run through a closed door. I have not had any trouble with the wood or glass doors. Good luck BABs.

Ok...seriously no yellow ice patch??? I have been waiting for years to make WeeWee the Ice Troll and now when my dream is about to become reality they do this Who is gonna team with my new earth/earth dom Princess Pewp Castle now?? This is totally unacceptable.

On a more serious note I realy hope I can get the fist slam/foot stomp replacement ported over to stone melee to replace fault or heck even tremor. People laugh but yes I use fault. I find Tremor/Burn/Fault/Burn/Tremor etc. to be a very effective on my favorite map full of little Nemesis baddies.

And thanks for all the sneak peeks. Those that could not be there really appreciate it

    You scare me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sweet because I am out of slots on Triumph and have some friends on Virtue...so you will get to see them first hand

Who would laugh at you for using fault? Fault is freaking awesome. Tremor is less so, but still pretty useful.

People that say taking a brute power that doesn't do damage is a waste, but I don't listen to most people

I stopped badging on Sycarius because Caleb would never spawn for me.

    Yes.

    Really.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I remember being on a team a year or two ago and killing all the ghosts we needed, then we got the message that Caleb has appeared.

Uhhhh... right. We flew around that island and up and down looking for the punk and he never showed!

    [/ QUOTE ]
We did this as an VG event a while back and if I remember right he spawned out by the shipwreck not on the island proper...but GM hunts are always a blast...we need more red side GM's. Give a shout when you do this I will be happy to help if I can.

Oddly, I never seem to have a problem telling when any dev, let alone BaBs is joking on the boards. Perhaps the problem is not with the messenger, but with the person interpreting it? I don't mean this as a personal attack, Lothic, as you're certainly not the only person who has difficulty discerning BaBs humor.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Agreed, I always prefer to deal with a smarta** rather than a duma** anyday...thankfully from what I have seen from dev posts they are in the first catagory and not the second.

Sounds like a Hero in need of a happy ending
  22. True, to a certain extent, but if they plan to use AE to make the megazillions they are selling then paying for the use of said tool cuts their margins considerably, especially if the mish offers no influence/infamy reward itself. They have to turn in their tickets and sell stuff to make any sellable infamy/influence. I have no real knowledge of exactly how they make their zillions or if this would really affect them but I think it might

If the lowbie missions are cheap enough you do not have to buy 100 mil to run them. You go outside and beat up a dozen hellions, run a regular mish, do a paper/scanner or spend 15 minutes in the sewers then go back to your AE fun. Part of this idea is to get "new" players to experience other content.
  23. Ok..I have not read the whole thread...but at least half so if this has been brought up I missed it.

Let's look at a different angle. AE is supposed to be an "entertainment" company with fancy holo suites for people to "play" in, am I correct? If that is the case, then you should have to pay (infamy/influence) for your time in those holo suites, like putting quarters in your pac-man machine.

There should be a set rate of cost per mission in a story. That cost should go up based on the level of each story. Lowbie missions against lowbie critters cost less than Level 54 missions full of bosses. I would completely remove infamy/influence as a reward as well as enhancement drops and leave inspiration and tickets as your reward for playing at the entertainment site. I would still reward experience because you can treat AE missions as training. To me prestige is a personal choice, you can turn that on or off at will if someone wants to earn prestige as well that is fine by me.

A new player will have to go out into the world and earn some money before he can go to the entertainment building and play in the holo suites. High level toons that want to play high level missions will pay a higher premium. If you want to lackey a lowbie, the lowbie has to come up with the money to play the high level content to get the high level XP rewards...no more free rides.

If you keep the cost of lowbie missions cheap enough and they can turn in tickets for their training enhancments if they wish to get them but they have to go outside to earn more cash to play AE new players will get the experience of more content. If it costs you 50k (completely random number) to run a single level 54 mish, not many brand new players could do that. They will pay the 40 bucks it costs to run that level 10 mish.

Vets that want to PL will just float cash to their lowbies so they can play whatever farm is hot that day. No more begging for a PL because somebody has to pay for it..literally (well literally in game money)

I think the current ticket drop rate and XP is more than ample reward. You can make quite a good living and outfit your toon on ticket drops alone.

This was a spur of the moment idea and I rambled a bit but I think it could just work. You can now all procede to punch a zillion holes in my little idea
  24. Interesting thread...I have to say I have spent the majority of my time in this game on red side. Given all the talk of electric issues I have to say I like my SS/Electric brute. It took a bit of getting used to because I really lean towards toons with a self heal...so I managed to fit in aid self on my build...foot stomp gives plenty of time to bust out a quick heal. When it comes to Malta and Rikti missions that brute is a beast and some times I just really want to beat up Malta

I have much less experience blue side but enjoy my blasters quite a bit...of the four (eng/elec, Fire/eng, arch/dev, elec/mental manipulation) I really like playing the elec/mental the best and he is still in his 20's all the others are upper 30's-41. I would recommend mental manipulation as a very viable choice to pair with electric. I think as this toon gets built out it will be an excellent combo.

As far as underperforming sets goes, I would like to see some minor adjustments to devices. I would trade time bomb for the traps hold in a second. It just feels lacking in general.

I wouldnt touch gravity with a ten foot pole being held by seomone else. That is literally the only set I have not tried at least once on something...no...wait...gravity and martial arts. So I am not speaking from experience of underperfoming but experience of never seeing one perform well enough to make me want to go roll one up.
  25. Good Heavens...this thread has a lot of me on it...
Never used a bind (but cheese is still all good for me..whew)
Speed boost kills my react time...I hate superspeed for travel.
I could go on but its depressing...no wonder that kid was calling me gramps on that team in the Hollows yesterday

On the bright side I dig the song quote Steelclaw...I am a big fan of both kinds of music...country & western (Fans of the funny Belushi brother will get that one)
