  1. Well I typically dont slot much of anything till about 17 most of my toons never feel they need it that badly. Then I might toss some lvl 20 trainers in a couple things just to get me to 22 then I put lvl 25 generic IO's in everything. 3 lvl 25 generic IO's will usually get you comfortably close to the enhancement cap. 3 lvl 25 health or damage in a power will get you 95% improvement (ballpark).

I will then make what I will need in the 25-30 range and start working on sets from 30 on up as I get them or can afford them.

A little planning of your available storage (especially redside) goes a long way. I will store luck charms, boresight, brass, etc. all the things that drop to make lvl 25 damage, acc, recharge, end red, and maybe health in my market slots, vault or SG storage. I sell the rest of the salavage and enhancements I get from drops...all of it.

If you dont feel comfortable with empty slots till 17-22 then just go to 12 and slot lvl 15 trainers. There is really no need with the change to accuracy to slot much of anything for the first 10 levels and if you can make it that far you can make it to 12.

This is all assuming of course that you do not have a sugar daddy alt that bank rolls your baby toons. If that is the case I still save the salvage and let sugar daddy do the crafting, since he has the recipes memorized, and give the baby toon some cash to fill in the gaps.

Long story short..for me lvl 22 for generic IO's 30 and up for sets...your experience may vary.
  2. I've got a Tank I would like to get that TF done on and the wife will still be in Florida so I will have pretty much nothing hanging over my head to get done on Saturday.

    Papa Slade: T-54 Tank Shield/Mace level 32?

I can fill that bill. Would most likely bring a Brute but have Fire/Rad Corr or a Mind/energy Dom and others available.
  4. I should be good to go for this. I will be back from the airport in plenty of time. Will probably bring my Archery blaster.
  5. *In my best Mr. Burns voice* Eexxxccccelent, yes ,yes, tell me more of your plans. Patsies..er..accomplices..er fellow fans! have been recruited. The black panel van, stocked with Slim jims and Mt. Dew, will be heading east on I-80 very soon. Muhahahaha...(anybody know a good place to get chloroform???)

Remember, shortly after PAX East, be ready for a surprise Chicago area meet and greet at an undisclosed location (likely an abandoned warehouse but might be a Chucky Cheese)
  6. I had a bit of a shot gun effect going this weekend...sort of shot all over the place:

Crab SoA from 35 to 38 (Mantis & Shark TF's at the Hootenanny)
    PB from 9 to 18
    Elec/Mind Blaster 28 to 30 (1 Citadel)
BS/Shield Scrapper 23 to 30 (Synapse, Sister and a CoT trial)
Energy/WP Brute 44-46 (thanks to Turbo's Sunday night mish team)
    Rad/Elec Blaster 17-21
    Elec/Dark Brute 26-27
misc level or two on a troller and a baby SS/stone brute

and 6-8 levels each on several baby tanks I want to play on tanker tuesdays over on Champion.

I am sure I am forgeting something...

All in all a good weekend. More for the fact that I got to team with some long time Triumph folks that, for some reason, I have never teamed with before than the levels earned.
  7. Thanks to everybody that came out. This weeks team was:

    Granny Longlegs
    Dr. Mrs. The Monarch
    Arachnos Bunny
    Spork of Artemis
    Mr. Crecy
    Ms. Veronica
    Sulis

Ran through another Mantis TF and then a Sharkhead TF in about 2.5 hours with a little time to level and enhance in between.

As always, everyone is invited and we try to work around whatever level toons show up. Join the "Hootenanny" global channel with your VEATS to keep up on any changes.

Next Hootenanny is Friday April 2nd 8 PM Central meet by Alan Desslock in Mercy.
  8. I should be available for both of these. My first choice to run both would be:

    @Papa Slade 2: Vengeance Angel-Scrapper-Broadsword/Shield-lvl 23

if the teams are 90% ranged I can switch to:

    @Papa Slade 2: Titanium Templar-Blaster-Rad/Energy-lvl 18 for Synapse
    @Papa Slade 2: Brass Bishop-Blaster-Fire/Energy-lvl 38 for Sister
  9. I like this idea....I have a new starter base red side on Champion that could use a little more stuff but I can only swing maybe 60 million. I just moved a 50 over there with a free transfer and have not had time to rebuild his cash reserve after stocking up regular IO's for all my baby toons there. My new blue side Champion base could use some love but I simply do not have the cash there yet. So if there is any cash left I would love to participate.

@ Papa Slade or Papa Slade 2

Triumph or Champion most every night after 6 pm central time

This is why I am quite certain I was not and likely should never be invited to a closed beta. Do I like a sneak peek at the new shiny? Of course. But my ability to test and objectively spot bugs or run numbers of any kind sucks. My taking 3 or 4 different dual pistols builds for a spin in the last beta to see how they "feel" and if they were playable to me, was probably not a ton of help to the devs.

I don't know if I just muddy the waters or provide any useful data mining. I would prefer they give a closed spot to someone that knows how to give the devs the info they need rather than give me a spot because I have been here 4 years. Just my thoughts on the matter.
  11. Good times as always on the Manticore TF. Thanks again to the folks that TP'd my Rock to the long run missions. He is getting close to never needing a Kin and every slot gets me closer. I appreciate the patience.
  12. Thanks Sidhe, I will try and track you or Troll down in game the next couple days...do you guys have a semi-regular time that you are on??

Mylia, its always good to see you when you are on. If you are working solo on that base and need an extra prestige push to get something let me know. The Rev has more prestige than I will likey ever put into our base and SG rank has never been a high priority. I am usually working close to 2 dozen alts red side and would be happy to toss one in your group to get you some prestige if you need it.
  13. Ok, as of now count me in with a blaster or scrapper. My wife is going to Florida and those dates sound awfully close to her travel days so I might be making airport runs. I will double check her dates/times and let you know tomorrow if I can make this.
  14. Hello Triumph,

The disappointing news last night that the Furioso Family is pulling up stakes on Triumph and moving on to Virtue, along with the earlier migration of the Shadow Souls to Freedom, has left a rather large hole in the coalition of the Revenants.

If anyone is interested in adding to their Red Side coalie we have some room and would welcome the chatter.

We also have a couple spots available in our blue side coalie although we mostly play Red Side.

Let me know if anybody is interested...

  15. Reminder time. Hootenanny #3 is set for Friday March 5th, 8p.m. Central. We will meet by Alan Desslock in Mercy as usual. This will be during double XP weekend so it's a good night to bring a VEAT that needs to ding some levels.

As always, requests for specific missions/TF's are welcome. Hope to see you there.

  17. Wouldn't miss it...these are too fun. I will be there on my Stone/SS which just hit 30. Unless somebody decides to do a posi for old times sake, before they change it in I17, then I would get a baby tank. Whatever gets run I am in.
  18. OK, first I like the system we have and have no overwhelming desire to see a massive change. Although I do have a question. Is the point of wishing for freeform that people want different types of damage in a build? Fire/Ice/Energy for example.

I ask this because the new dual pistol set allows you pick what damage you you are doing. Granted the majority is lethal, but am I the only person that thinks this might be a tiny baby step toward a more freeform build.

Could we see some sort of armored tech suit AT that has multiple damage types in the future? Perhaps not being able to walk through all the sets in an AT and Cherry pick but being able to select heat vision or X-ray eyes for your eye beams, or have your left gauntlet be a flame thrower and your right gaunlet shoot energy beams or a Sonic assault using a system like the swap ammo system.

Or perhaps a magic set that has a teir 3 attack with a swap spells option that allows you to call upon Earth(smashing), Air(lightning), Fire, or Water(Ice) to go along with other spells that deal "magical" energy damage or call upon dark energies depending on the spell you pick for that tier.

Could it be that the Swap ammo system is the first step by the devs to see just how freeform they can really be and keep things balanced?

Or do people just want their Fire snipe to LOOK like the Rad snipe but still do fire damage, because that is an entirely different conversation that does not involve power choice as much as animation choice.

Or am I missing the point entirely?

The 28th sounds great. I have yet to do a Blue side raid but have done more than a few Red Side. Not too sure about the 7th...isn't that dbl xp weekend? I might be to into leveling to break for a Hami raid
  20. I can spot one of my 50's for a two part Dr.Q no problem. I got plenty of other stuff to work on. Name the day and I am in.

It's like 6-8 hours to minnie from here so gimme some time. I like eggs and bacon for breakfast.

Was a great run. Kudos to Baba, the team leaders and everyone there...except those dirtbag griefers.
  22. Going to try and do a bio nuke run shortly Baba...do you have a ballpark Idea if you are short a certain build? I can bring a Mind/energy Dom, SS/elec brute or a Fire/rad corr...those are probably my best suited for this. I could bring a nitewidow if the brute team is looking for a defense boost and toxic damage I suppose.
  23. hmmm...March 27th..that gives me well over a month to canvas...I mean see the sites...in Boston before their arrival. Time to load up the black panel van with Slim Jims and Mt.Dew.

*Midwest meet and greet with above mentioned devs at undisclosed suburban Chicago locationÂ…date and time to follow

**Carefully screened accomplices...er...wanna be road trippers will be considered. Must provide own Slim Jims and Mt.Dew
