If I slot a Set IO or Hami-O that has a recharge reduction component into Mind Link, does it decrease the recharge time?
-
I didn't actually have hover... I took fly because I had Air Superiority as a major part of my attack chain, so it seemed silly to take another travel pool.
Mu I took for concept reasons, despite the fact I know it's sub-optimal compared to Soul... I can see him tossing lightning bolts Captain Marvel style, but dark powers kind of don't fit him (He's flashy).
But now that I have a perma-hasten build to work from, I can probably tweak in those couple changes and get it just right. So thanks!
EDIT: What do you think of this build... I put Air Sup back in (I just like the juggle capacity), switched back to Mu, just for concept, and managed to dig up a slot to put the FF chance for recharge reduction into Foot Stomp.
Hasten is perma (If only barely) before counting the FF proc, so it should be very reliable even if I'm only getting a second or two of the FF proc bonus each time I use it... Foot Stomp should be nearly machinegun speed, and defenses are still ok:

I greatly appreciate it. Squeezing the last few seconds off Hasten is driving me mad.
-
I hit Lv50 with my SS/WP a few months back, but since then I haven't been playing. I lost my old mids files when I reinstalled my OS due to virus issues, so now I'm trying to come up with a build from scratch, more or less. I don't even remember what order he took his powers in.
I need a build to work towards. Price is no object, because hey, the more expensive, the build, the longer it'll take me to reach the goal and the longer I'll stay interested in the character
But yeah... What I want, ideally, is perma-hasten, and good survivability. I'm sure the build I had designed before was ok, but I don't have it anymore so...
Right now he's IO'd out, but I haven't started getting sets yet. His build is something like this:

I'm willing to change powers around to a certain extent (I know, obviously, if I replace two powers with the single target and AoE ranged powers from a patron pool, for instance, that I could fit two more purple sets into a build), but I do like him the way he is (For having no sets at all he's pretty tough).
Like I said, basically what I want out of the build is perma-hasten and a strong defense. Damage output isn't really a problem, he's an SS Brute after all. I've been working on set builds, but nothing quite seems to appeal. For instance, I've got hasten down to 127.4 second recharge, but that's still 7.4 seconds too long to perma it.
This is the best I've been able to put together so far, and I'm not sure if I really like it:

Oh bugger, short of 12 days
My other accounts on auto, so dont have to worry
But, imho its still lame that the tier 1 is set to 60months, as EU did start later this imho aint really super fair. -
Yes... I want Rage + Siphon Power + Fulcrum Shift too.
Hey guys, look, I can hit the damage bonus cap solo!
And of course with Siphon Speed combined with Hasten, you could probably perma a triple stacked Rage... If not poke into quad stacked once in a while.
Not to mention you'd be basically chaining Foot Stomp into itself infinitely... -
I'd like a claws customization that isn't a blade attached to/coming out of my wrists. Talons, you know, actual claws that come out of my character's fingertips? Yeah, that'd be good.
And you don't even have to change the powerset animations. What you do is you let the hands of the model stay in the closed fist pose they're in right now, and you make an attachment for the hands that cover up the fists, and look like open hands with extended claws.
All done. -
I don't understand how you can use technical pens for inking comic style work, let alone people who use a ballpoint or something like that.
How can you stand to not be able to vary line width by pressure? I can't imagine using anything other than a croquil dip pen. -
Digital ink.
Back when I inked by hand I did it on vellum over the original so that I never killed a pencil piece.
Crowquill exclusively. No brush or anything. Ended up going through a LOT of nibs though, 'cause you really have to abuse a croquill to get the line variation you want, and you tend to snap one of the prongs off. -
They make alcohol and ammonia free spray cleaner formulations specifically for LCD/laptop screens... If you go to an office supply store or someplace like best buy or crapusa you can generally find some. Use that and a microfiber cloth and you're in business.
-
Wait!
Is it a CRT monitor, or an LCD of some sort?
This is a VITALLY important question, as you should NOT use anything with alcohol or ammonia on an LCD screen (Unless it's glass fronted, which is somewhat rare).
If it's a plastic LCD screen go down to Staples or Office Depot or whatever and look for laptop monitor cleaner. If it doesn't say it's safe for laptop screens DO NOT USE IT.
Anything with ammonia, alcohol, and a few other chemicals will slowly eat away your screen cover! -
Thanks Ian... I don't know if it's quite what I was looking for, but more ideas are always handy.
-
I love my Epson scanner/printer thing. It works better than the standalone scanners I used to have access to years ago.
-
Ah, the eraser end thing is simple... It's just a preset... If you have it flipped to the eraser side and choose a different tool, it will keep that new tool selection for the eraser side.
Just flip to the eraser side, and pick the eraser tool from the toolbar, clicking it with the eraser end of the stylus, and you're all set.
Also, I don't have a cintiq, I'm not that rich. I just have a tablet PC, which I managed to rationalize because I had to buy a new computer anyway. -
I'm lucky... I get to use my stylus directly on my screen, so I don't have that logical disconnect problem
-
And 50 villains there to protect you
Sort of like how we were all gathering around doing /em praise
We'd have been like "Defend the Metal Lord!" -
Particularly helpful is a pocket sketchbook. A lot of people don't like to work that small, which is fine, but it's nice to have one because you can keep it in your pocket at all times, and be able to draw on the spur of the moment, no matter where you are.
And the more you draw the better you get (That's really the only hard and fast rule about learning to draw... Differences in learning style, how your brain processes images, etc, mean that various methods of instruction may or may not work for you... But the drawing constantly = improvement is true for everyone) -
[ QUOTE ]
I really think you need a kneaded eraser AND a Magic Rub. They really do different jobs.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've just never had a need for a Magic Rub. Not to mention that rubber and plastic erasers make waaaay too much of a mess on the paper. Kneaded erasers really don't produce the eraser "bits" that other erasers do. And that's actually a big deal, because every time you brush off the eraser crumbs you end up smudging your work some, so the less you have to do that...
Speaking of which, you should really get a drafting brush so that you smudge as little as possible when you do have to brush eraser crumbs off your paper. -
I actually prefer drafting "leadholder" pencils. They work differently than a normal mechanical pencil. You use a sharpener, but because there's no wood, the sharpener works by extending the lead out from the pencil body and inserting it into the sharpener where it's run against a metal file inside, grinding it to a perfect point. It actually produces finer lines than a .05mm mechanical pencil.
My preferred model is the sanford turquoise but there are other models.
These things are really hard to find, you have to find a GOOD art store, or buy them online.
Lucky for me there's a really great art supply store near me.
I second the recommendation for kneaded rubber erasers. I love mine. It erases more cleanly and thoroughly than other erasers, with less damage to the paper.
It's also more versatile in that you can sort of "dab" the paper with it to just fade areas without completely erasing them. Great control.
I also second the recommendation for an erasing shield.
However, the kind of paper I use is actually drafting vellum. Most people don't like it for fine art because it's thin and lightweight, but I love the smooth texture. I don't like paper with much tooth at all.
Have you noticed how personal pencil and paper choice is yet? -
Heh, the first one I did was creating one from scratch... Using someone's tutorial where you make his hero, Ms. Liberty, and an Abomination dance under the Atlas Statue.
I changed it so it was my hero, Ms. Liberty, and States. And then had my character hit States with a KO Blow -
I'm looking for the sounds used for the impact when Electric Melee attacks hit. Any help would be appreciated. I think I found it for Havoc Punch (elecmeleehit.ogg) but it appears to be different for every attack! ARGH!
I want to replace them with something more boomy and less buzzy. -
Yeah, we were all telling him to level up and go PvP
If he had we probably all would have followed him... He'd have had an army for backup
