I think weather or not is a good idea is irelevent. It's going to happen.

Then you will be aware that the last full size PvE zone added to the game was Granville. Yes, there where a lot of zones added before that, but only revamps and mini-zones since. And what was done in the Hollows wasn't a revamp, ath they did was change the mob spawns and a add a first ade post. No new geometry, or new missions, appart from basic repeateble stuff.
-
Shadow Shard was a rush job when they upped the level cap to 50 back in issue 2.
It has been on the long list for a makeover for about 4 years (along with Boomtown), but the staff cuts after issue 6 flopped pushed it a long way down the to do list.
It probably will get its makeover sometime soon, and that will mean it will go co op as well, because making large amounts of faction specific content is no longer considered cost effective.
Simply letting villains in without giving the zone a makover would just give villains a chance to pop in, find out how dull it is, and leave. The merit changes in issue 14 should mean there is less incentive to farm long boring TFs.
Oh, and there have been no completly new full size zones added since issue 7, 3 years ago. -

And villains... They are only bad because they only get a couple of missions there.
[/ QUOTE ]
But those few villain missions are much more fun than any of the hero missions in the SS.
At the moment the shadow shard is usually completly empty, it looks very pretty, but there is nothing interesting to do there. -
You don't really need to bother with that palarva if you are Ice though, the burgers can't hit you anyway. Just taunt and deal with them at leasure.

Out of curiosity did picks of the male cossie parts ever surface?
[/ QUOTE ]
No one ever worked them up into screenshots with demoedit, but it would have been possible to see them in the game files. -
I expect it is already planned.
But like any game change it's not something that can be done by flicking a switch. -

Sappers are not that hard if the team (or you) locks him down the moment he tries to attack. Some mobs still require priority over other mobs.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the reason for mentioning sappers is that Ice is very good against them. -

I did my own math and I make that 30,000 subscribers. Am I out of touch or does that sound low?

Sounds about right to me. -

does cloaking device really need four slots
[/ QUOTE ]
IMO, yes. -
Stalker /elec would be my candidate for the worst powerset in the game.
Yes, it needs a buff, and not just a small one. -

Full Helmets:
Blast bot (visor)
Shiny Alien
Shiny Elongated Alien
Head Detail 1:
Glactic Glasses
Helmet Detail 1:
Full Blast Shield
Reflector Shield
Half Shield
Geo Shield
W Shield
Lots of Shoulder details: they have a Basic and Metallic option.
Some boots and gloves, and the various skull chest details also have metallic options.
Those are all I can think of off the top of my head.

Ahem...

On the other hand, a complete shiny metal costume is quite possible within existing parameters.

arr, I understand your point now. We where talking at crossed purposes. I meant, it would be possible for the devs to add a complete shiny metal costume to the game without making changes to the game engine, not that it was possible to make one right now. -

Nope, the current Metallic costume doesn't use the reflective textures that where added in issue 6.
It is also not perfectly smooth.
But other (post issue 6) costume pieces have the reflective texture. It doesn't work on all graphics cards though, so you might not have seen it. -

It's certainly possible to change a powerset for one AT only.
However, saying Claws underperforms on Claws/Electric is like saying Fuel Injection underperforms on a Morris Minor.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not really because while yes */elec most definitely under performs on stalkers something i thing every one is aware of what I'm saying i that i believe claws under performs as well and because i have it paired with elec I'm noticing it more than some one who has it paired with regeneration, super reflexes or Ninja reflexes because those secondaries work better to cover up claws short comings
[/ QUOTE ]
If your primary is good for DPS but not for burst, then the amount of damage you can inflict is (almost) directly proportional to the length of time you can survive whilst scrapping. /Electric has the shortest survival time, and therefore gets least bang-for-buck from a DPS set. -

Yes, it is technically possible to completely replace spines with metal spines, but it is not something the devs would ever consider, given that it would completly destoy all those characters who are based around the concept of organic spines.
[/ QUOTE ]
...unless they could add metal as an option and just copy the ability, rename it, and make it metal. Thus it could look different but still retain the same properties otherwise - basically you'd copy the numbers but actually would be different powers.
-Just offering a possible way of doing what they always say is "impossible". Impossible is nothing! D:
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, you could create a new powerset, Spines(metal), with the same powers and a different look, but the devs are on record of saying they would never take this path for power customisation. If the do it, they will do it properly. This method becomes a nightmare when it comes to ajusting powers, since instead of having to change things once in the database, you have to do it twice. -

My Ice tank does better with just SOs (in my build on test).
Always monitoring you defense value is very good advice. It's also a good idea to know the capabilities of the mobs you are fighting, so you can anticipate problems and use insps before hand. Guys with broadswords have -def. Not hard to know that, and to know that -def can't hurt you until it hits you, so make sure you use purples to keep yourself at the def cap. -
It is power customisation, the devs have talked about spines specifically in that context, and also can't be achieved in the same way as weapon customisation, because, whilst the spines that come out of a players body are weapons, the projectiles and the hit effect on target use a hard coded system.

Yeah, I think the engine does alow for selectable surface effects.
I've asked for a full silver surfer/T-1000 costume a couple of times. -
There are animations for attacking whist hovering/flying, yes.
