I've long suspected that the endurance problem is specifically an Ice thing. I've yet to meet an Ice/Ice that doesn't complain about it. Some others do too but not with same regularity, and again others say they're fine.

Possible, Ice is the only kind i've gotten past level 4 with.
I'm hoping things will look up a bit once I hit 32 and get my pet. -
It's endurance per point of damage that is the issue.
It goes like this for a solo boss fight:
1) Activate domination, hold boss, kill minions
2) Refresh hold on boss, use secondary attack to damage boss
3) Repeat 2)
4) Domination expires
5) Endurance runs out with the boss still at 10% hp
6) Boss kills dom
ant that is just for 1 equal level boss. -

If buff/debuff/heal isn't needed I would go with a Dominator.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes Heal is sometimes not needed, but when is a debuff (such as -res) ever not helpful?
Why have someone who can do a little damge instead of someone who can make the whole team do a whole lot more damage? -

Except we have Domination, which makes our control abilities much more powerful than any Controller when activated.

Much? I don't think so, slightly perhaps, and only occasionaly available. -
The real crunch will be when hero villain crossover is enabled. What team would take a Dominator when they could have a Controller? For Dominators to survive in the long term they have to be sgnificantly more damaging than controllers, or Darwin will get them.
I'm not that worried though, I'm reasonably confident Dominators will get some love in issue 7. -
I wasn't basing my guess on what would help, only what the devs might think would help.
-
I had another couple of thoughts about what this buff could be. They are based on the asumption that the percieved PvP weakness the devs are trying to address is the ability of heroes to ignore the pets and just kill the MM.
A) Base hp increase for the MM
or
B) A change to the MM inate (I forget the name) so that the buff it gives to the pets increases as the MM takes damage. -
My controller doesn't nead aoes and long attack chains with 4 pets running round attacking targets within the aoe of disruption arrow and acid arrow.
And doms don't do very well for aoe attacks anyway.
Ice/Dark Corruptors on the other hand can control almost as well, easily do more damage and have significant aoe capabilities. -
I'm speaking largly based on my experience of playing an Ice/Ice Dom and an Illusion/TA Contoller at about the same levels at the same time. For my dom at level 30 a single boss and a couple of minions is a major challenge solo, whereas my controller can plow through double boss spawns up to about 8 strong without breaking into a sweat. The controller doesn't just outdamage the dom, it does so by a MASSIVE amount.
-
Yeah but Controllers arn't supposed to be damage dealers either...
Compare dominators and controllers:
Controllers hold better (apart from at best 5% of the time)
Controllers do more damage
Controllers can buff the team
Hit points are the same.
-
Controllers also get things like Syphon Power and Disruption Arrow which can buff damage output far more than domination does (at least over time).
I still think that increasing base damage by reducing domination damage (making if more for control and end recovery) would be the best way forward (combined with blaster level hp).
I don't really need the domination bar to charge faster. It's usually the recharge time on Domination itself that is the problem. -
Option 3 seems most likely, however some form of streamlining pet summoning is also possible (I agree it would be difficult not to make it overpowered).
However if pets get a taunt in PvP Tankers are going to be very very miffed. -
Oh, I enjoy my dominator, and can hold great. It's really just solo performance that is the issue, and it's pretty much down to damage per end and inability to survive an alpha strike from anything more than a single minion.
-
I have always felt that for my dominator I am just to squshy for the amount of aggro I get, especially solo. Use any aoe power, and 2+ misses = dead dom. I think a 10% increase in base hp would address this problem.
The other issue is with bosses, again solo. My dominator is level 30 and still struggles with bosses, simply because I run out of endurance before the boss runs out of hp. My controller on the other hand has been able to mop the floor with just about anything since level 20.
The problem is clearly susainable damage per end.
My solution: increase base damage by 12.5% (before enhancments). Reduce the damage buff from domination from +75% to +50%. -
Kinetics is about buffing team damage (and speed and stuff), not doing damage, it's nothing like a blaster set.
I know of quite a few kinetisists who don't have a pool travel power. -
Without any effective control Ninja Blade is less effective for scrapping and harder to master for a new stalker.
-
The form costs end as well as boosting end recovery.
I believe that unslotted the extra cost of the form pretty much exactly balances the end recovery. To get the maximum net end recovery per sec with ED you need to slot both endrec and endmod. -
Until issue 7 Aim, powerboost and build up don't affect Blizzard.
-
Yeah, EM or MA primary (they give you some control), SR (best defence) or Regen (best recovery) secondary.
Avoid: Ninja Blade -
I don't think there is really much to choose between them, they are both good, pick wichever suits your concept best and you like the look of.
-
You can never have to many holds. Take them both and hold Lost/Rikti bosses and AVs.
There's not much point in taking the ice primary unless you are going to major on holds. -
Lost have hold resistance, so it will take more than one attack to hold them. So do some other mobs, and bosses of course are harder to hold.
You should take both hold powers, so you can stack them and hold more powerful/resistant mobs. -

I always enter a mission with all my defenses up. The stamina drain will almost always be less than stamina recovery if you have your powers slotted right. When it's all clear you can summon your pets, dropping toggles if nesasary.
