What day/time on Liberty. I'd be happy to join in. I got a TF arc I made in my sig BTW. It has a lot of EBs/AVs in it, only 4 of which are custom.

Honestly I think the only real deciding factor on how often people will play your arc is whether or not the current overall is a 5. I ran my newest arc with 3 friends. They all 5 starred it. The next day it had shot up to 12 ratings and still at an overall of 5. Then it went up to 14 ratings and an overall of 4. Stopped getting ratings after that.

Personally, I had every intention of playing yours until I read the description and it said that it pretty much requires a team which will count me out. Thus difficulty, real or assumed, may be another thing that prevents people from doing longer arcs.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know that factors in too. But aren't you glad that unlike most people, I stated the difficulty in the description rather then you starting and getting clobbered by a Praetorian in the 2nd mission?
For the record I did solo it on heroic with my tanker. But not everyone is a tanker, scrapper, mastermind, or whatever else someone uses for their uber solo build. So I labeled it a team mission. -
Yeah man, this game needs to real improvements if it's gonna survive. I mean what's with these travel powers anyway? I wanna ride a horse.

Time is often a factor. I like medium/long arcs myself, but sometimes I'm limited in the amount of time I have on a given night and will look up short arcs just to get a couple in before bedtime.
As to whether single mission arcs are good or not, it varies. I've played some single missions that are more enjoyable than some of the longer ones with regard to story and fun value. I've played some that are not deep, but are definitely clever. I've played some that I'm not sure why they were made to begin with. But that's true of longer arcs as well.
If I enjoy the arc, it doesn't matter what length it is, I will star it accordingly.
[/ QUOTE ]
This.
Though I often look for shorter arcs. I just don't have time to play longer arcs or tfs anymore.

You are aware you don't have to do a MA story arc in one sitting right? If you log off in the middle of it, you'll be on the same mission when you get back as long as they don't take it down. -

After leveling a mastermind to level 50 and then a tanker to level 50. I'm in the mood to switch back to doing some evil stuff. But I wanna see something different this go through. So submit to me your villanous arcs for people under level 30. I'll rate it and give feedback to the best of my ability.

You could just make a custom group that has robots from all the different level ranges you know? Custom groups don't have to have custom critters.

What you need to do is work up a credible facsimile of Dark Watcher as a new custom character. Then give him powersets that you think fit.
[/ QUOTE ]
I tried to do that once but gave it up as I had no idea what powers Hard Case would have and didn't want to have the possible annoyance of then being proven totally wrong someday if he does get made into a combatant. I was guessing Dark Scrapper but cut him out of the arc as while it was a fun idea to beat info out of him for the story it didn't really add anything to the plot to justify it.
[/ QUOTE ]
But if that ever happens couldn't you just swap out the combatant for your custom? It's not like you can't edit an arc after you put it up. -
Not that I'm aware of. But if you guys are steamrolling everything then turning it up one level shouldn't make a huge difference.
-
K, but like I said. I had a similar problem. Customs seem to scale down on Heroic even with bigger teams.
-
Seems to be a problem with Heroic. Bosses scale down no matter team size. Anything higher then that seems to work though.
Or did you choose to make him an EB? Enemies won't scale up from what you set them as. But they'll scale down on lower difficulties. -
I think the problem is most people want to do the whole arc in one sitting. If they don't have a lot of time, they're going to pick a shorter arc.
-
I'll give you a choice. You can do my villain arc which currently has the most plays (17 ratings)
Arc Name: Web of Deception
Arc ID: 75310
Faction: Villainous
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Ozzie Arcane
Level: 40+
Synopsis: Help President Evil create a portal to an alternate dimension to trap a hero.
Enemy Groups: Circle of Thorns, Nemesis, Crey, Paragon Poiice, Arachnos, Longbow
Or you could do my "taskforce". It has absolutely no plays, but I don't reccommend trying to solo it.
Arc Name: Agent Thunder Taskforce: The Cracked Mirror
Arc# 159922
Faction: Heroic
Created by @Ozzie Arcane
Length: Very long, 5 missions
Summary: Villains from an alternate earth have arrived. They call themselves Wrongbow and their leaders known as the Domination Phalanx don't like our Paragon. Can you stop them?
Warning: Not intended for solo. Contains lots of AVs and EBs. Intended levels 45+ -
Here's one. You might wanna wait till you level a bit more with your Brute but I know someone who had to be auto SKed had no problem with their mastermind.

I really hope they at least let us edit the names and descriptions in some future patch. That would be incredibly useful.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can if they're a boss. But actually editing them for a custom group would be nice too. Heck I'd like if some could go to higher level ranges. Level 54 Succubus for the win! -
Personally I like it. I think it, along with the rest of his costume gives him kind of a retro feel that fits for a character that's supposed to have lived as long as him.

I think Positron doesn't like Anti-matter and he said "No -.-"
Or, there MIGHT be an issue with him, he's the first one you meet level wise isn't he? He's a tad overpowered if you ask me. :P
[/ QUOTE ]
I think it has something to do with the fact that you normally only face him in a 40-45 arc, while the rest of the Praetorian AVs scale up to level 54 based off the level arcs they're in. -
Hasn't been available since Architect went live. Me and various other people have asked this already. No real explaination why.
Also funny that you mention coffee since I had an evil positron in my mission(Who I wish I had Anti-Matter to use for) mention going on a coffee break. -
At first, I was obsessed with telling the story of my characters. I wasn't trying to make them Mary Sues, but I realized I was inserting them into storylines where they weren't really needed and were making things more confusing then they needed to be. For instance I had a Mad Scientist experiment and I had President Evil behind it, even though thinking back that didn't make much sense. I'm working on revamping it because I realize the scientist would work well as a Nazi super scientist working for the 5th Column.
I also decided to make alterations to my custom group and while he may end up being a boss in an arc, President Evil is just one of 10 high ranking officers serving a greater evil. -
Arc offered to which character?: Silent Spy, Edwin Schmidt, or Dr. Amy Byrd
Arc Name: Agent Thunder Taskforce: The Cracked Mirror
Arc ID: 159922
Faction: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Ozzie Acane
Level Range: 45+
Soloable?: Highly unlikely
Length: Very Long
Difficulty Level: Hard
Synopsis: Villains from an alternate earth have arrived. They call themselves Wrongbow and their leaders known as the Domination Phalanx don't like our Paragon. Can you stop them?
Estimated Time to Play: Unless you get stuck, should be under 2 hours.
It contains a lot of AVs and EBs.
I suggested it for silent spy because the contact is a government agent, but the story might fit one of the other two characters more. -

...And let's face it, for all of you out there that feel the same way as I do about these farms. Doesn't it suck to have all your mission arcs you worked hard on buried under all those farm missions?
[/ QUOTE ]
Instead your story arc will be unplayed because no one wants to run through an arc without rewards. You're lucky if you can get a non SG member to help you with Test mode for an arc.
Not to mention the farmers in an attempt to get back what they want will probably 0 star anything they don't think will be farmable. -
How can Regent be copyrighted? It's a word that basicly means "King's advisor". That's like saying Captain is copyrighted.
-
Not is there only no way to, they absolutely won't. There is no way to have two bosses in the same group unless they're just standard enemy bosses that happen to spawn together. Unique bosses will be seperate with their own little posse at the time being.
-
If anyone is interested the arc in my sig is the arc these guys are appearing in. But be forewarned. It's got lots of AVs and EBs in it.
