I duo with my GF all the time as well, and I've noticed as long as both of you know what you're doing, you can combo with anything.
I normally play scrappers, she normally plays support, but I've been trying to fulfill my new years resolution and get a non-melee character up to 50... so far he's lvl 34, been playing with her blaster as of late, we still mop up enemies...
Its all in play style, have fun take your pick, learn how to play them and have fun! -
Over the course of DXP weekend I took a brand spanking new Claws/Ela Scrapper to 37th level, doing mainly TFs [Positron, Sister Psyche, Citadel and Manticore] and a few mission teams.
Over its a very good combination as long as you slot your attacks to reduce the end use and maintain working Enhancements you'll be fine. I grabbed most powers as soon as they were availiable and do not have a travel power relying mostly on Raptor Packs and team tps... which were far less then I would have liked.
Follow most of the rules of other sets, make sure you slot up you resists well. I've had a blast so far and now that DXP is over will be better able to assess the combination, but overall, its great for team play, energize is awesome, I've used Power Sink once and it puts Dark Consumption to shame. It was very easy to tell when my enhancements were out... lots of whiffing and my blue bar was almost non-existant.
Over fun, and I think you'll enjoy it too. -
This is the new version

Kept dark consumption for both AoEs and the overkill end, I always want more options then fewer.
Grabbed Torrent for the crowd control. -
I'm looking for an all purpose build really, I'd like to dabble in AV killing, be able to handle +4 8 person sized mobs and be somewhat useful on teams.
I've been playing with Mids and this is what I came up with, he's heavy on resist with a nod toward soft-capping melee def, I'm quite far from doing that, I'm way over the scrapper cap for energy damage resist.
Take a look and let me know what can be improved on, don't worry about cost, gonna do lots of TFs and my brother can make a fortune on the market.

It seems I know a web designer... a very good one at that... infact she's sitting approximately 5 feet away from me.
I ran the idea by her and she said it wouldn't be all that difficult and if she gets time she could do it.
We may however have to start a petition to get Kheldians something really cool for the next issue to convince her... or at least ask her real nice to help us out
I guess a few things that would be required would be: Global name, character name, build and possibly a picture... -
The first time I did the ITF we sniped the healing first then killed Rommie three times... So yeah its very possible, I believe the range you need to be away from it is 60'. Use single target attacks only, AoE will aggro everyone and their mother.
Rommie goes Ape after that, stay outta range and finish off the other two nictus out of rommies range and then take him out... Just theory, but shouldn't be too hard. -
Was in PvP once with my Ninja Stalker Bokken.. the lack of KB actually saved me. I TPed on a roof, Stealth gone, got hit with KB knocking me off the roof and to safety.
I don't mind being knocked back once in a while, being a big time comics fan, when someone got knocked back it meant that was one powerful hit and the fight was just getting serious... makes it more exciting for me!
I don't do crazy stuff on my Stalker though, I save that for my Scrappers, which if I ever got /Nin would be a great day. [Oh and I actually made use of the utility powers when I played him] -
Quote:It's been soloed already... Nihilii did it w/ DB/Inv.That wasn't my experience. I'm assuming you were using your Claws/SR, so my DM/SR has an advantage with Siphon Life. With a good bit of luck(and three medium green inspirations) I was able to take down the last 15%ish of Rommie's health while the other six scrappers were laying around and taking their time getting back from the hospital.
Though I don't expect to be able to do that consistently. That auto hit fluffy sucks.
edit: Just saw this
I bet that's is what happened to me. I never knew that piece of info. Maybe this TF is soloable after all...
Personally I think Master of TFs are possible with all scrapper teams, just takes a little reigning in on the scrapperlock.
Seriously, when I do ITFs on my DM/SR, I'm bored on anything but Challenge 5, heroic is a walk through the park... this is with taking all ambushes, Nictus in Mission 1 and Cimerorans in Mission 2, soling phalanx in mission 3... seem to do that last one on ever Heroic ITF I do. -
I'll be going with a DM/ElA... what can I say, I truly love DM!
Not sure on a name yet, also gonna start on a new server w/ him/her. -
I took a look, great stuff was added, tried +4 8-solo specs... I did leave AVs as EBs but I didn't do a mission that had AVs in it.
Glad to say I performed up to expectations, just did a Werewolf World mission on Shado-Strike, my DM/SR. Shortly after starting I remembered "Oh yeah... these guys have increased resists to Dark"
Overall good experience.
The only thing I'm disgruntled about is the fact that Kheldians can't change any colors... Is it just me or does it look like the devs are trying to get people to stop playing them all together? -
I'm thinking about making at least 1 scrapper on all servers so I can join up with this new fun wave of all scrapper TFs...
-
Wow...
First to the OP, you're fine, heck you even play damage control so you buddy up with the tank later, ya did good, don't quit being a leader because of one bad experience.
I read the whole thread and have just gotta ask... Was Negescape joking/trolling or is he/she so delusional that they actually buy into that line of garbage they were trying to spread.
I don't play AE, I think its a good idea that has gotten way out of hand, I don't think it should be possible to level to 50 in what? Last I heard it was 8 hours. For me and I'm sure a few others here its used only for getting to those hard/impossible to reach AVs.
Can we get this thread tangged "No T(h)anks"? -
Joined last night!
Catch y'all on the flip side! -
For me it was Terra.
She was one of the ones I had never seen on anyone's kill tally, so I tried right after soft-capping Melee. Took three tries but I got it right!
Gratz on the AV kill, as 'Forge said not long ago:
Gotta Catch 'em all! -
I took kick on my DM/SR
for a couple reasons, first the variety, throw a kick in their for flavor, it also gives DM something it lacks... Knockback, I put a +Neg NRG proc on it so sometimes it does my damage type, but a +20% kb from Kinetic combat would almost make it viable as a consistent KB... I did say almost. -
I'm Ozmeth a.k.a. Oz a.k.a. Ozzy...
Martial Artist by day, Scrapper by night!
Scrappers are the thing I like the most, I feel dirty when playing any other AT. I'm probably not known for much of anything... except maybe being up for any All Scrapper TF/Event as long as I'm near my PC.
I hang out on Virtue pretty much exclusively. I've often thought about expanding to other servers just never do it. -
Quote:May be a little under appreciated but its gaining ground.I was goofing off the other day on mids and I decided to look at something that I haven't seen any scrapper do in my entire time playing CoH........I thought to myself does it just suck that terribly, or has no-one even cared to try it? So I decided that I would look at it for a little while and after I gave both powersets a good look over I noticed that they didn't really contradict each other at all, in fact they even complement each other on a lot, like you can put the +buildup proc in invincibility to make up for when you only have 1-2 guys around you, then you can take tough and weave for more survivability and when all those toggles get your endurance down, dark consumption.......finally Even a recharge capped person cannot have Dull Pain up more than once every minuet and a half, meaning there is large amount of time there where you have no self heal, Siphon life: even slotted purely for damage it is still a 10% heal every few seconds and with invulnerability's resistance and defense coupled with tough and weave not much is going to hurt you, right? Is their something that I am missing or is this just an under appreciated coupling of power sets?
I have one at lvl 26.
There was a recent thread... just prior to the boards being converted about this very subject. I haven't finalized a build for mine to shoot for, currently a very fun scrapper to play, and I've found that synergy as well.
level 26 and have a grand total of: 13,770 debt at this time... many of my characters had the first debt badge at this point in their careers.
Make it... have fun! -
Not sure if I'll be available for this... If I am though I have my most likely 50 Shado-Strike.
I am however working on a new scrapper DM/Inv, she's currently lvl 26... but we shall see. -

If spots arent full then i'd like to try a TF. Heh you thought that wasnt as fun as the TFs then i wonder what a TF is like then. But great run i agree, good to be on a team with only great scrappers.

We did an all scrapper STF last week and anal scrapper ITF the week before. I guess it didnt seem as fun because it was so short. it was like starting a TF then going right to the last boss.

I must have been asleep or something cause I didn't anal anything during that ITF -
let me guess... Virtue
yeah, not the first time its happened -
Ok, we're at the staging point for the rikti raid... come one come all!

SO....
All Scrapper rikti raid on Sunday at 7pm EST?
[/ QUOTE ]
That's today in 4 hours, roughly. Right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes!!
Be there! -
Just a tactic I used with Practiced Brawler while leveling up before it was perma. Watch the enemies you're fighting and hit PB when you know they are mezzers. Watch for when its going down and carry a spare break free, just in case.
Happy hunting! -

We still on for sunday? I hope we get enough to this. After the STF run last sunday, I think 2 teams would be enough. How about lgtf as an alternate idea if lack of participation becomes an issue?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm down with this idea.
We get enough for the raid we do it... if not, LG -
Most of us do actually...
Scrappers play a modified version of king of the hill where we try to get as many people on top as possible!
Congrats
