  1. I am in a rather big pickle. I am rerolling my Traps/Elec defender to a blaster, but can't decide between taking Elec/ or Nrg/

I know the Nrg synchs with Devices well, but Elec/, at the same time, works as well

Any opinions? I'd take anything at this point
  2. Oi already gotta 'at! Just moins not made o tin foil....

  5. Seeing the winner for Blueside, on Virtue Server, makes me think why the heck didn't I find out about this...

I could have entered my toon "Outback" in his CIVILIAN clothing and had a more heroic looking costume (Crocodile Skin Boots beat Cowboy Boots any day). Oh well, congrats to the winners, and good luck to you all
  6. I have the same Issue mate. Don't know if it was the Halloween Patch that did it, or the devs are finally trying to force us to upgrade from Tiger......
  7. 1. I would like to apologize for any real harshness on my last post. I was EXTREMELY ticked off when I wrote it

    2. From what I have gathered....upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard doesn't really solve much......is this true? Granted I have Tiger....but still.....
  8. Question....WHY!?!?!?!

Why the heck would you think it a semireasonable idea to make a i16 not work with Tiger when we are in an economic crisis? You are making people that most likely already paid to play your game pay MORE money for something that most people don't have to. Its almost discrimitory, and quite honestly poor planning. I will not be surprised if you lose many veterans with Macs that can't afford to upgrade. Not that you'd might care...i16 is brilliant in everyother respect, and you are most likely going to gain more clients then lose......

Still, show some respect to your veteran players...please....
  9. My main, Outback Saviour, is a BS/WP scrapper. However, with BS becoming a stalker power, I don't know if I should focus on my alts or make Outback Stalker, a BS/WP stalker.

I know that Stalkers are more stealthy, but will it be a whole different expereince with the stalker or just a similar redside version of Saviour?
  10. I have heard good things about Grav/Rad as well......
  11. I am going to base my build on FunkyWaltDog's guide here:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat....rue#Post9536159

with my own modifications, such as NOT taking Mutation at level 49, but ealier; Recall Friend, and...something else, I am not sure yet. But I find that it is a great guide that makes sense
  12. I have made my new Grav/Rad!

His name is "Pulsar Kid" and was in his father's lab when a wormhole machine his father was working on somehow activated, and Derrick Deacon was blasted with pulsar winds (which really do exist). Now he is a living pulsar, able to create electromagnetic radiation (i.e: Grav/Rad)
  13. Good Solo Set......you said the magic words

Now I need a name, costume, and to gET OFF OF WORK! GAH!
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Another vote for Grav/Rad (and another on a similar theme, although I went with a pulsar rather than a quasar). My Grav/Rad was my first 50, and still gets a fair bit of play - she's a blast to solo, and always in demand for teams.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is the name I was hoping for, Pulsar, but I am pretty sure its taken. However, there is another name (not posting it becuase it might be nabbed before I can get to it) that is VERY similar
  15. ........*hugs*

Grav/Rad it is! It sounds interesting, thanks for the explaination!

Now I hope some of the names I have in mind are open. The toon is going to be able to control cosmic energy similar to an object like a quasar (hence, magnetic/gravity/radiation powers)
  16. Does anyone have any experience with Grav/Rad?

I have an RP idea that Grav/Rad might work for, but I don't know much about controllers.
  17. I apologize. My personnal style for Stone Tanks is unique(ish) and I should have said so.

My Stone Tank, Guardstone, is a Tauntmonster.
I REALLY like taunt. I have three sets of Perfect Zinger, two sets of Mocking Beratment (spelling?), and I am working on my third MB.
Way too much tuant? Yes. Stupid? Possibly. Its just how I do things.

HOWEVER, I still think what I said about Rooted is true. Slot it with health, and don't be worrying about it slowing you down becuase:
    1. It will save your skin more times then not
    2. You're a stone tank.....YOU ARE GONNA BE SLOW! So get used to it :P
  18. Dude, I have a level 47 BS/WP scrapper (see my Forum Name? Thats him) and I wish I had read this before I made him.

Luckily for me, I pretty much did what you listed above, execpt I took Resurgance......bad idea, I know. I have a respec, so I am getting rid of it.

I agree with the AV killing. BS/WP isn't really the best for that, but it DOES take down EBs well (Soloed the Mender Silos TF on Unyielding). I use Outback as a psuedo-tank when I need to, but when there is a tank in the group, I tend to truely "scrap" with him, and "tidy up the edges" of the mobs, catching runners the Tank can't aggro, defend the squishies, ect. He is by FAR the toon I have the most fun with, no matter what I'm doing

Great Work Mate! Broadsword (or in Outback's case, "Knoife") Willpower Rules!
  19. I have a 50 stone/stone tank, and this is what I tell anyone that asks me for advice on Stone Armor:

Mud Pots: Slot it with taunt and endu, not damage or anything like that. Seen people do this, but honestly Mud Pots is your taunt aura, so it doesn't NEED to do damage

Rooted: Slot this baby up with healing and love it! I used to forget to toggle it when I first started playing, and now that I am more used to my Stone Tank, I wish I had used Rooted more, even if it DOES slow you down.

This advice is basic/obvious, but its what I got.

Also.....in my opinion.......in Granite Armor....with dual blades.........*wow*.....that just looks wrong, as in....yea...I don't know. :P if it works, it works, I just know that it would look WEIRD AS HELL to me.

    Good Luck Mate!
  20. .....wow. I honestly didn't expect this amount of replies.

I posted this to see what people would say about what I thougth was a "good" strategy. I don't ALWAYS want to play like this, its just what I do when I play the ATs

Also Turbo_Ski, I don't really play redside nor reply to posts that seem exteremely and potentially insultingly sactastic! :P

    I'm guessing you're new here.

Sad thing? I just earned by 6 month vet badge..........

    The Win Tank

well rats......I think my "Win Tank" isn't that win anymore.......
  23. Outback

    The Win Tank

Alright then, instead of focusing on my explaination, I'd like to ask for feedback on simply Stone/Elec with Arctic Mastery. Pros, Cons, ect ect ect
  24. I just wanted to get this out there.

Like the Subject says, its what I think each AT's role in a team should be:

Tanks should aggro the mob to them and try to keep the aggro from most people, especially the Defenders

Defenders should stay around the tank, focusing their buffs around them. However, if the mob begins to crumble away from the tank, the Defender should focus on the Blasters.

Controllers should stay in the back, and both hold the mobs by the tanks, and work with the scrappers by using their pets and single holds to "clean up the edges" of the mobs

Blasters stay in the back with the Controllers and do most of the damage dealing. Enough said

Scrappers role is to both to "clean up the edges" with the Controllers help and to protect the Controllers and the Blasters from the aggro that the Tank cannot hold.

If you have any comments, positive, negative, off topic or even in spanglish, all shall be welcomed!

    Tanker Rivalry?

My VERY first toon I ever made back on a trial accont became my first 50, Guardstone, a Stone/Stone/Fire. I still play him to this day, and consider myself a tanker beyond all other ATs.

That being said, I beleive that a tank should NOT care about "glory". If you DO care, then you are not a tank. I'd suggest a scrapper, blaster, or mabye a defender for some thanks in the buff/debuff department.

Tanks are their to keep the team from being attacked, not for attacking. If my tank could hold the aggro 100% of the time and not do an ounce of damage, that would be fine with me...I'm a tank!

When I see tanks that mob three four groups at once, I send a tell reminding them that they are a tank, not a soloing scrapper or one of those uber defenders like a D3 or Rad/Sonic.
