I just did ITF on another charater.
I still see things die from Judgement and nothing is displayed for rewards ( infl, xp, sg-rep ) Anyone else experience this while doing an ITF? -
if you can get to the mobs in the upper deck... you should have no problem.
jump up to the lower parts of the walls below the cannons and from there jump up to the cannons, you can travel from cannon to cannon via the lower parts of the walls. -
I was wondering if Judgement was being treated like Confuse, if you Confuse two and they kill each other you get no credit, if they beat each other down by 50% you get 50% credit.
I suppose there could have been extreme LAG and the text just wasn't showing up on the screen, I would see 8-10 lines of "xxx killed yyy" with nothing about XP,infl being displayed between the lines. -
I have a 42 scrapper and I ran with a group doing ITF and I found that when stuff died from someone doing a Judgement we didn't get any credit ( no XP, no infl, no SG rep )
I couldn't convince anyone not to use the judgments since I needed the XP.
So, here are my questions.
1. can a purple drop when a Judgement kills?
2. can a shard drop when a Judgement kills?
are there any plans to make it so that the leader can have Judgement(s) and such disabled for the duration of the TF so we do get credit for all kills? -
I was just getting ready to post the exact same question.
I can't stand that I don't get credit for the regular incarnates, what if I'm not finished with those then I'm screwed. Everything in the past has allowed us to play any content. I'm am so SICK of lambda on anything other than a tank/scrapper. I'm sick of the whole content and I've only leveled up two characters for the minimum slots. BAF requires something like 20-30 runs to get one character leveled up for two slots. LAMB crate/acid part of the game is just one big death trap for any squishy without invisible powers + super speed. -
I used TP on my ice/kin and I find that I usually get killed trying to get to the last two mobs on the upper deck before the cannons. I TP up and then fight the first mob and then start heading to the second mob ( some 10+ seconds) when the cannons shoot me. I take this as game LAG and I was really dead before I helped with the first group.
I hate lambda with a passion on my ice/kin. ICE slow powers out aggro EVERYTHING in the game PERIOD.
I die on the general mobs outside.
I die on mobs inside.
I die getting to the upper deck.
I die on cannons
I die on A/V just inside
I die trying to keep up on weapons.
I die trying to keep up on acid.
I die just standing in the corner cowing in fear of drawing aggro.
I die on the A/V endgame.
I should just play solitaire in the hospital -
another BAF tried to start with just 17 people and we failed to start and I was placed into the queue and didn't know I was in the queue and couldn't be invited to another team.
-
I just sat in the LFG queue for over 30+ min. I had selected willing to join a BAF in progress. I did a bunch of WW stuff and made items, sold some junk, etc. the queue said it was a <1min queue the whole time. so I finally gave up and went to the pocket-d only to find that if you are in the LFG you CAN'T be invited to a team.
It takes 15+ min to create a team, it's by far the longest part of the process.
99.99999% of all BAF start with 1 person forgetting to select enter and being dropped from the team.
my point is that I should have been able to sit in the BAF queue and get one of those last positions on a team that failed to get 100% entered. that and the queue system LIED about how long I would have to wait.
these new TF are terrible hard to setup and LFG is worthless. Team leaders should be able to browse the LFG queues for people. EVERYONE that isn't already on a team but wants to BAF should be in the queues.
The cut seen has got to go, BAF is barely a week old and I HATE it already. After waiting for 15-20 min for your team to form it's pointless to watch it over again. -
if you are at any location with a large number of people then the mission and WW teleports don't work. They make the sounds and take you through the 30 seconds of setup and then leave you where you are without moving you. The mission porter can be reused but the WW one has started it's recharge timer and you have to walk there.
The Ouro portal is the only reliable one in the game. -
I don't believe the purple/shard rewards scale up. Everyone seems to think the drop rate on purples doesn't change or scale up and I believe it's the same with these shards. Normally everything scales up, the influence dropped is higher if the mobs are higher, in AE missions the rewards are higher until it comes to these items (purple and shards).
These two items come down random + (# of kills).
I've had some toons get 1-2 shards for a whole shard run TF and others get 10+, some days you are just lucky. I have some toons that have got 8-10 purples and others that have never seen one. I've never seen a purple drop during APEX or MAGE (which are all +4) and I've got the most from ITF or LGTF doing "shard" runs (at -1) where we kill as much as we can on the first 2 missions.
you would think that doing +4 would increase the drop rate by 4x but it doesn't. you might as well go for +0 and kill all that much faster. -
I guess my complaint is that CoH is over compensating. Like all game progressions, just make things not work and call it new and inventive content.
a spine/regen scrapper used to be all the rage, I hate mine now.
a fire/kin controller was all the rage but Mine sleeps though half the content now.
an Empathy healer could write his own ticket, it was my first level 50, I can hardly find work for mine, only STF seems to even want one. with instant death one-shotting bosses why bother with a good healer since no healer can save you from the one shot death
The game has gravitated away from squishy characters, the AE farms want tanks and tough scrappers and don't even bother bringing a healer.
Squishy teams can still work, an all rad team still rocks but I find playing a katana/willpower scrapper much more fun since I can almost tank with him and he never sleeps on the job. I like playing the scrapper more than tanking because as a tank, if I can't hold aggro I feel like I'm letting people down and the tank aggro limit is VERY easy to reach in ITF or LGTF. -
Mezz first... it sounds so simple, Why couldn't I have thought of that myself?
Maybe it's because my Mezz doesn't work like it used to. If I fight a more classic opponents, say from the portals in PI my Mezz seems to work like it's supposed to. Flashfire gets 95% of them and you can char the rest.
But compare that to LGTF or ITF opponents. now my mezz doesn't work worth **** . Flashfire at best hits 3/4 of them or less. Char and cindars NEVER Hold bosses unless I'm extremely lucky or I've put like 6 applications of char on them ( assuming I don't die before then). Now move on up to APEX and MAGE opponents... all bets are off.
I do run +4/8 AE farms but I've used a highly selective opponents that can't sleep or hold anything.
I've noticed a few fire/kins using tough & weave and earth mastery... I've never tried such a build. how does that type of setup fair for sleep/holds? -
how can I build up protection against sleep and hold for say a fire/kin or fire/rad controller?
I've tried the psionic mastery "Indomitable will" which gives a non buffable amount of (stun/sleep/hold/confuse/terror) protection 1:30 and with max recharge that leaves you unprotected for 1:30 assuming you have auto-cast on. imo this is so-so at best and a 1/4 second sleep is just as bad as a 10 sec sleep because your toggles are still down.
I can run a TF with say my ill/kin and never sleep once through the a whole TF but once I bring a character with either "hot feet" and/or "choking cloud" they sleep on the job all the time or are being held.
Please don't tell me to bring "break frees", I can use 20 on a single TF mission and you can't keep running back for more while on a TF. ( for AE mission I can see doing that ). Is there an equivalent tot he Karma knockback protection but for sleep and hold? -
I play several fire controller, ( fire/rad, fire/kin, etc ) and I did a respec on one of them. I figure since Smoke doesn't aggro and I use it more than almost any other power I decided I would try putting an IO set on it. I would normally only put 2-3 slots there but I went with 6. ( don't worry I'm never doing that again )
I went with "Dark Watcher's Despair" http://cityofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/D...'s_Despair
Which one of the set is a "chance to cause Recharge Slow"
sounds awesome right?
If you smoke a typical crowd you've caused -Recharge on at least 1 on the group and since they are all tied they aggro on me and not just a little bit.
So now, my uber cool smoke has a 100% chance to aggro. I was on an ITF with a brute as our only tank and I could give him 15+ seconds to get aggro and smoke I wouldn't even have time to cast something else before I was dead.
I've decided I now have a 100% chance to aggro, it's either that or that was the worst Brute on the game (he seemed fine) -
I like to start making IO at level 22 since I can use level 25 items by then.
I find ultimately I can craft some level 25 for not that much more than buying Single Origins that will be worthless in 5 levels. I usually don't have the time for make all of the 25 I can use. Sometime a shortage of some parts on the AH make it cost prohibitive so I wait for a lower bid on the AH to return in a couple of days. This delay usually is enough that I'm at the next level and buying say 30 level items, etc.
I don't replace any IO made at that is >=25 until I'm 50. -
It's a a game and nobody that isn't a Lawyer would be able to understand or take the time to read it.
So what have change that is so DAMN important that I have to say I accept it twice now to play the game? ( AS IF THAT WOULD MAKE ME READ IT ). -
I was going to complain about this for similar reasons.
Not so much as tank aggro stealing but the ungodly AoE bombs this guy throws out. I've died on this guy so many times it hurts, I died with my regen scrapper where I essentially went POOF about 7-8 times, I just wanted to hide in the corner and let the other 7 take him. I've also done this with far casting blasters, defenders, controllers as either DPS or Heals and as far as I can tell there really is no skill to him, his AoE blasts hit me from 50ft or 1ft and it usually means instant vaporized death. It seems totally random and if you don't have lots of IO sets or freshly 50 you usually die first. All of the debuffs tend to cause the the AoE bolts to come my way.
the only time I haven't felt like I wasn't just picked on was a full 8x rad team where everyone had full sets of leadership and everyone was casting the same debuffs. He melted like a regular boss then. -
this has happened to me once before and it cleared up after a short while.
I run several short AE where there is only 1 mission (typical city map) and then I can't start any new AEs.
I click on something that I've already run or a new one and it give the usual pop-up about you won't be able to talk to anyone and then nothing, the TF was not formed. Nobody on the team could start it and even reforming the team didn't solve the problem.
Was AE just down or is there a limit to how many AE's you can run in an hour or something like that? -
I was leading a 52ish farm and I noticed that when I died the mobs looked harder than when I was alive. I assumed this was the loss and regain of my +1 alpha slot status. So after I rezed purple targets now looked red, red targets now looked orange, etc.
So my question is this...
As the leader of the group does this +1 affect the other players? i.e. did the mobs change difficulty when I died or when I was rez-ed? Does someone less that 50 exemplar to 50 or to 49? -
I've been working on getting one or two purple IO sets on my characters but
I've seen references to IO sets not working if I'm doing a lower level TF and I'm exemplar-ed down to level 30.
I would have thought it would just scale down.
Is it just the set bonus that is lost or do we loose everything when using a purple set that you can only slot at 50 ? -
thanks for all of the suggestions of maxing out defense ....
my spine/regen seems more like so-so blaster. maxing out those items just seem to be me trying to make him playable.
I just keep comparing my Katana/will power scrapper to him. There is just no comparison on who is going to survive a fight. The Katana doesn't have any work done on him yet (he's not 50) so If I take the time to max out the Katana/wp scrappers defense and stuff he would be a god compared to the regen. I know he doesn't have the automatic AoE but at least he's alive. -
I've complained about this happening before... it seems to happen most often to my controllers when they are freshly 50 and don't have any IO sets yet. I never could understand why my invisible controller was the first to die and that new mobs showing up on the scene would run straight past the tank and all other players for the only invisibly player in the team.... me.
I can't tell what's happening or what kind of team make up causes it. I have other teams where nothing bothers me and then you have the team from hell. I'm not saying it's the teams fault but EVERYTHING aggros on my controller.
I got my elec/kin to 50 and did ITF with 5 players at 35 so I was one of 3 players at level 50 and I (or we) had no problems at all... we smoked the ITF and we were just melting bosses as we went. Latter I did an LGTF with all 50s and now I'm the #1 whipping boy, everything goes for me ... one cast and POOF, i'm either dead out right, stunned until dead or sleeping until dead. The stuns and sleeps are like 5 minutes long and last through a whole fight of a group or mob. I went through a bucket of break free's per mission. I was totally sick of playing by the time the TF finished.
I played an ITF with my ice defender and when new mobs would aggro during the last boss fight they ALL went for me and I could super jump around the boss being completely worthless because I wasn't able to stand still long enough to cast anything with the whole map chasing like that. Mobs that should not even know that I exist yet since the first thing they should have see was the tank on the boss were chasing me.... after about 5-6 deaths your really start to hate the game.
I can't figure out why it's great sometimes and bad others. So what causes the feast for famine on the aggro .... is it just being the only buffer on the team? -
Regen blows... and it can't be made to not so.
I just did the weekly Kahn and I died at least 6+ times on the last boss. Many times I was the only one that died. I would be one shot by his AoE and it didn't seem to matter if Moment of Death (errr Glory ) or dull pain was up or not. Whether or not I was in front or behind or even a few feet away.
What I have found is that regen relies on panic buttons while say shields or invincibility rely on toggles. Toggles are FAR superior to panic buttons. When you are one shot from full health to death you can't even cast a panic where as a toggle would probably have prevented me from being one shot. I'm sure that the developers using a private servers with a ZERO lag testing lab might find it usable but in the real world LAG death is the only thing a non-toggle scrapper will ever experience.
There are several kinds of lag death
0. one shot... lag does't matter.
1. your character is somehow busy servicing another cast like throw spines and you die before that cast ever finishes and your panic never gets fired.
2. your character says the spell is ready but the server says otherwise and you wasted all of that time trying to cast something that's not really ready. It will usually fire right at your moment of death so when you're rezed you have to wait X minutes before you have that worthless panic button again.
3. LAG is so horrible that noting is casting like at the Hami , an RWZ raid or the boomtown part of the Kahn TF in which case you just watch in horror as you can't defend, run, attack or do anything but die.
I found Moment of glory is highly miss-named. There is nothing glorious about it and almost a pointless to have spell because I seem to die whenever it's cast. At best it is barely as powerful as other players toggles without actually being a toggle.
I hate regen and I wish I hadn't bothered placing IOs on that character. -
I have the exact same problem. laptop with the Go 7950 GTX and the game is unplayable any any resolution from 800x600 through 1920x1200 and all for the same reason. it's like the game looses video sync and you get black wavy lines that show up and disappear. If I try windowed mode nothing is displayed except a black or blank window.

my Illusion controller can solo the whole quest chain and I've helped lots of people do this.
inviso to trapdoor and confuse him.
I usually set confuse on auto-cast at this point.
he will kill his own spawns if any get close enough for him to aggro on.
He usually only makes 1-2 copies.
Phantom Army brings him down enough to win.
=========
fairly similar fight for the quest in RWZ, confuse rikti portals, confuse the boss until he beat honor down into submission, kill confused boss with Phantom Army.
