Oh, crap. I should have mentioned that. Catwhorg and Margat had their ingame wedding awhile back. All the FC and a fair number of other folks showed up for it, including a few devs. I can't find the thread in Player Events anymore, but I know Samoa and some others got pics. Most tuxedos I've ever seen ingame.

Also, caltrops make a good rice substitute.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Curses! I was gonna post that...

CuppaJo and pohsyb stopped by and hung out for a while, too.

It still amazes me that people didn't mob them and flood them with tells until after the wedding. Further proof that Triumph pwnz.

I have a few pics around, I'll see if I can dig them up...

EDIT: Here is a good one. I'm the fourth one in on the right, and pohsyb is the big guy in the purple pants a little farther down. I think CuppaJo showed up after this picture was taken, but I'm not sure.

A pedant would say that if you could run around in it, it wasn't a bottomless pit.

    But I'm not a pedant, so I won't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

*kicks Raynebow* I fell for a long time. It was bottomless for a while.

    2) There was a glitch that cause a hallway's entrance to turn black and make you be unable to see through it until you walked through the black wall.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That glitch is still around. It's due to map tiles not synching totally. The real scary thing is that sometimes the map tile is really out of synch, causing you to fall out of the map.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah - this happened to me in a CoV map not long ago. It was pretty fun, actually. I was walking around on top of the hallway.

Similar to this, I once found a black hallway in a misison with my team, and when we tried to pass through it, we fell. For a long time. Then.. we stopped. Hit some invisible ground. We turned on Superspeed and such and it seemed to go on forever. Flying up, I was able to get out, and teleport through to the other side of the blackness. But that was the weirdest thing. It was insanely fun, though, having your own bottomless pit to run around in.

Anyword on the transcript? Or does anyone know what all was discussed?

I think I died 3 times on the final mission, all to the Thorn Tree itself, and I had a full Domination bar at that point too. Once we got to the point where we were all attacking it (Brute, MM, Dom, Corr), it went down pretty easy, and no one died... unlike the first Respec trial, where we had multiple TPKs in the final room.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Posi, were you teaming with some other Dev's, or just doing the normal "I'm a regular player thing"?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Of course it was with other Devs, since us lowly mortals aren't cool enough.

I bet there's some UBER SECRET spot the devs use just to be cool... like you talk to a fire hidrent or type in a certian command or something... like go into a telephone booth and type /superman or something... and it gives you XP for lvl 50 I swear game developers do this all the time, I know I would if i was a game developer...

    [/ QUOTE ]

When we play on the development servers or Training Room, sure... but when we play on Live servers even we dont get any special commands or cheats. We level up just like the rest of you... I know I will be on with my Dominator a bunch this weekend.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It's all lies!

    CuppaJo says otherwise.

    Take THAT, "man"!

    Haha!

    Fight the power!

That pic was taken 2 months before I started at Cryptic.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think the original for the pic seen in the hospital was taken at E3 before CoH launch. I am the dev furthest to the left.

o_o the Poz speaks! its been so long!!!

So, are we going to see a recording or transcript soon (for those of us who had to stand at a supermarket checkout until 9PM Pacific)?

    [/ QUOTE ]

/second that request, but I wasn't at the grocery store. Saw Superman Returns at Imax and Pirates of the Caribbean.

I just don't have SI Radio.. (don't pummel me!) so yeah, a transcript would rock.

Wow, this game is really turning into a "cult of personality". With ALL the stuff that is defective, broken, unexplained, unfixed, and just downright wrong in this game, it's hardly the time for a press op and back-patting.

If you guys think way-way-WAY back - to like....last week, the same group of people who went "Old Yeller" on 70 employees, left us paying customers high and dry, and unable to login, for the better part of a day.

So, before any "unmasking" is done, let's see if we can get some TOUGH questions answered, instead of a bunch of "Larry King" softballs.

Let's see if there's anything worth listening to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So, tell me - how is Cuppa responsible for the "defective, broken, unexplained, unfixed, and just downright wrong in this game"?

Like a previous post said - if there are questions you want answered - post them here. If they are good questions, we'll ask her. But if their just going to be agressive scapegoating, then I guess we can just pass on each other.

Cuppa is a huge asset to the community - while she can certainly answer questions about player concerns, martyring her does no one any good. Comparing the immense respect the community as a whole has for Cuppa and all she's done on our behalf to mindless adulation of a leader of a totalitarian regime . . . um, yeah. Get some perspective, man.

    [/ QUOTE ]

By the same logic that she was derided the last time she gave a radio interview.

Apparently, and I'm still trying to figure it out myself, this is just what I've figured out from others folks posts on the subject, but apparently it is believed that CuppaJo - Community Representitive/Forum Mod and all, a person who has in the past brought our posts to the developers attention, this person has more dev power and responsibility than the actual developers.

I'm not sure if it's because the difference between forum moderator and game developer is so subtle or just a mistaken belief that anyone with a redname is evil incarnate.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Huh? I can't hear you over the sound of my flamethrower lighting this Statesman dummy on fire.
  12. You gotta tell Cuppa to get in-game more and play with me.

    I'm so lonely

But really - anything about I8 or the Retail expansion is what I want to know.

Paragon City is plagued by numerous Arch-Villians. Despite the best efforts of our Paragon Heroes, even a Elite Task Force Team has trouble taking down even one. King's Row, Croatoa, Independence Port, Founder's Falls, Skyway, and other parts of the city are beseiged by many Giant Monsters.

Enemies from other realms roam the streets.

There is only one way to rectify this severe problem, evacuate Paragon City and use tactical nuclear warheads to wipe them all out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Fixed for the most part

Just one question...how the hell do you mispell "Boomtown" so horribly?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Boomtown's real name is Baumton.
  14. BRING BACK THE PARAGON TIMES!!

    SAVE JACKSON TURNER!!!!

  15. Quick! Hide the Shoes before Sonic shows up!!

But really - fantastic accomplishment guys. It'll be a while until I get high enough to do this, but I can't wait to give it a shot. I saw the video made about the Strike Force.. and that was just nuts. Major grats.

  17. Ahahahahahahaha!!

Positron is one sick man. It's awesome.

On another topic, that there is some great info and I am very much looking forward to these updates. And the pictures were great!

When I meet Cuppa, I'm going to see if she's some kind of drink-powered robot by denying her drinks for a few days. if she dies, I was right. If she survives.. oh, wait.
  18. I think what Sam was saying is that CoV is forcing you to be a different kind of "evil" then he'd like. The costume creator gives you "evil" costume options that are made to look sinister, dark, etc. The red electricity is read because red is the standard color of evil. The Patron Pools are there so you can serve Arachnos. Yuo can't be your own villain. You're not allowed to. You're forced into a cookie cutter Arachnos drone model. I agree with Sam, which is why I'm not looking forward to Patron Pools. Yeah, they look amazing. I'm not doubting that. But for story reasons, which is a huge part of this game to me, CoV just dosn't have the same hold as CoH. I have a grand total of two characters for CoV, neither above 14. I play 4 in CoH. CoH allows me to do what I want to do, and no one is stopping me. I don't have Arachnos following me around, commanding my every move. It's a freedom that CoV just dosn't have.

Yay, welcome Cricket! She might sound nice in her intro post but I tell you, beware the Cricket, she may be small but she wields a big stick!

Surely she must have something like this to shoot errant threads or posters.
