There's been several people on each night. I ran two TFs with E K Nacthmuzik Sat, and we're running a Posi tonight with three of us. "Speed" Posi, lol.

Quote:I don't think I've seen that happen in more than a year. There's also the issue with the big load servers getting locked out on major weekends. I understand it's not as big an issue with the Login Queues that were recently added, but it's still something that the OP may want to consider.
The week GR hits? A possibility. -
My build for Medieval Crisis. I rolled the Numina's unique for this build too, but otherwise I've spent significantly more on this character's build, so he's probably had a negative market impact so far.
I tried to build for melee defense, which is about 30% with this build. Not great, but eh. /shield is not really the best set for this sort of thing, but it fit my character concept. I was also concerned with endurance here, given that I'm broadsword.

This is Tainted Candy's build. I tried to build for recharge as much as possible, and for recovery a bit too. I don't have any LotG +recharges in the build.
Of note: My Karma KB, Regen Tissue +regen, and my Numina unique were all rewarded to me via random merit or ticket rolls. I don't have the Performance Shifter proc yet, nor the Zephyr +KB (not even sure I need that one), nor the Miracle unique as of yet.

Yeah, my attitude is if I'm going to limit myself to a certain level and want to run a lot of TFs and the like, I want to have an efficient build. But the real test of how much we benefit the market will be how long we keep up with this whole thing.
I'll try and post my builds tonight. -
Quote:I've already generated 2 level 30 Numina's uniques via random rolls with my two characters. People seem to be racking up upwards of 300 merits or more by level 30, which would be 15 random rolls. This looks like people who recycle because it's "good for the environment", but they also drive a Hummer.
Consider your "IO footprint" on the Market. I see healing uniques, LotGs, rare procs, etc. How much are you taking out of the Market to make these builds? And how long do you need to play these characters to have a net positive influence on mid-level availability of set IOs?
It would probably take just a few weeks, maybe a month or two, to "pay back" to the market what you've taken out. I think if we sustain interest in the group for a few months we'll have accomplished our goals. ^_^
I certainly don't deny that I've spent a few hundred million on my two characters... less than a billion between the two I think. But more importantly, I would have been buying those IOs for some other character anyway. ^_^ That's how we got started on this, people complaining about trying to buy midlevel IOs and how hard they were to come by. It's not like joining Midlevel Crisis has necessarily caused me to bid on IOs that I wouldn't have otherwise bid on.
Besides, I like my virtual Hummer. -
One challenge is to see how much you can make in 30 minutes.
Another possible challenge might be to see how fast you do make it to 2 million. -
I need to make a redside character now I guess.
Last night logged in a bit late and got an instant invite to a Hess TF. I like the Hess TF. This was only my second time running it, but I always like fighting council, and it can be run fairly fast. Ours was 1:15 with a group of guys that had never done it before. There were two trollers and a defender, but the defender dropped as soon as the TF started and never returned, and the second troller dropped once, came back, made it into the first mission, dropped again and never returned. So I was the only support for two scrappers, two blasters, and a tank. Good thing they knew how to play. ^_^
I have the Hess TF on my scrapper and I need to unlock it with my troller too. This is an excellent task force for our group to run -- levels 25-30, less than 2 hours tops. 19 merits which is not bad I guess, but it's a fun TF.
At the end I was a hair from 32 so I solo'd a bit in Bricks. Now I have imps and I'm a level away from where I plan to lock.
Also got my Oblit quad bid filled last night. My build is nearly complete. ^_^
I'm well over 100,000 prestige, but I don't know if I can catch Riches or Flaming Ape. I play too many other characters I think to manage that. ^_^
I'm thinking about taking my scrapper up to level 35 or so, since my troller stops at 33 and it would be nice to have shield charge. How high is too high to really count as generating "lower level" recipes, you think? We do have one or two people in the SG who are level 37 or 38 I think? -
1 roll last night: Obliteration triple, level 32. Crafted. Last 5 sold for 12 million, only 5 sold since Sept 27 (crafted mind you). Zero for sale, 1 bid out. I listed for 10.1 million which was above the outstanding bid, but I'm sure it will sell.
Also listed a level 47 mako's bite dam/rech and a... something else, I forget, some common resist recipe that I hope will sell. -
I tend to always monitor hit points and influence. Now it really bugs me if I can't instantly see how rich my character is.
For scrappers and tankers I'll monitor defense or resist numbers. For other characters I'll often monitor recharge bonus, whatever else seems useful. -
KillTenRats is run by a guy who was my old Everquest guildmate. (Or maybe it's just one of the writers, I forget.) ^_^ The Grove, Test Server, R.I.P.
Studying their author list, there are several people. I know Julian and Oz were guildmates. Maybe some of the others are going by names different from what I knew them by. -
I did that mission last night on my Midlevel Crisis SG fire/rad, Tainted Candy. It was fun to drop a bonfire right on the box and guarantee that the rikti couldn't even think of attacking it.
Who knew I was supposed to attack it myself?
And yes, I complained to my SG that I didn't even want a cape. I wanted my aura. !@#$#!@$ unavoidable, undroppable mission. -
I should add, some people don't include the top hat, monocle, and teabag in their photo. But these people are severely frowned upon. Severely.
You don't want a bunch of rich people in top hats and monocles all frowning down upon you in unison do you? -
Only a billion needed, but the picture with the teabag, hat and monocle is a necesity.
-
Thanks but I'm not sure I've done that much.
Rolled an Obliteration: Chance for Smashing Damage level 30. Sold immediately for a little over 10 million. -
I take it you couldn't stay away very long. ^_^
-
I'm not sure Riki, Malta, Knives or Nemesis for that matter appear in radio missions. Except for bank missions, and maybe also some of the "save bank" or "save jewelry store/pawn shop" type of missions with the bank or store maps.

1. Today's Accomplishments: Citadel TF, Sister Psyche Tf, 2 WL Realms, Lusca.
Rolls:
Luck of the Gambler: Defense/Endurance/Recharge L28 (crafted, sold for a lil over 10mil)
Luck of the Gambler: Endurance/Recharge L29 (crafted, listed for 2.1 mil)
Aegis: Resistance/Endurance/Recharge L28 (listed for 1,000)
Analyze Weakness: Chance for +To Hit L30 (sold for 3 mil)
Lockdown: Chance For +2 Mag Hold L30 (listed for 1.9 mil)
Numina's Convalescense: +Recovery and +Regeneration L30 (crafted, not currently listed)
I have the Numina's Unique for each of my Midlevel Crisis Characters already (rolled another level 30 just a few days ago after buying one). I'm willing to sell this for less than market to someone in the SG that could use it -- make me an offer.
2. We did a Coalition with my solo Freedom SG. It has a dumb name (Original God's) but I inherited it some years ago, and it has 18 teleports and a Pillar (which I confirmed can be accessed by coalition members).
3. I did a ton of crafting and dumped generic IOs into the bins. Mostly damage and accuracy. Use them, sell them, delete them if they're in your way. I don't care. ^_^ -
Cool. Then you really only need a 25+ character to get things started.
-
For the record, tested with my Virtue Base:
Level 11: could not access Pillar.
Sidekicked Level 11: still could not access Pillar.
Level 50: COULD run missions from Pillar teamed with level 11.
So all you need is someone level 25 or higher to run the missions, and lower levels can be included.
Also, when my level 50 quit the TF, it did not kick my level 11 out of the mission or off the TF. Whether I could have gone further than that one mission, I don't know. Doubtful.
Also we could coalition with my Freedom SG, which does have nearly every teleport pad I think. 18 or 20, can't remember. -
Quote:I think that's pretty true for all servers. I'm on active global channels on Virtue and Freedom and nobody invited me in. They let anyone in. ^_^ You just have to know they exist first.not untrue, it happens in any social situation, but t least on liberty, its not like the gates are that strong, just show up, ask, and dont be an idiot. when i join any new players, i let them know about it. Best you can do if you are a member of these groups is help new players (something that i personally feel is my responsibility as a veteran player in the first place) and let them know where the action is.
-
Anectdotally, even the populated servers have felt more empty to me lately (and that may in part just be because of the holidays).
I had a conversation with a friend last night. He's been on Victory for a year or more, and was in charge of one of the larger supergroups on that server, with a large coalition of other active supergroups... and he and they've made the move to Freedom because Victory has seemed so dead lately. From his perspective this means even the coalition and global channels are fairly dead, people in his SG and the coalition SGs have left, and he has had a very hard time finding any new players to join his SG.
Without hard numbers everything is speculation, but I do agree that the world can seem very empty, especially on lower servers and redside as opposed to blueside. I also think that in game numbers have been down, at the very least during the holidays if not overall, and I'm pretty sure with the free transfers more people have been moving to the top 4 servers or so than moving to the lesser populated servers.
All of which means that being connected to the existing player base is even more important in order to find people to team with.
On the flip side, I still mostly run with random PuGs and rarely start teams myself, and I still find teams that way.... -
Quote:Heh, my level 50 brute is /elec armor and I have fly as a travel power (although I took air superiority instead of hover). My main IOed out Brute has Hover/Fly even though she can't use Hover in combat due to being Elec.
Nearly all of my scrappers have hover/fly, and if they don't then they have superspeed as a travel power. I almost never have combat jumping on any scrapper (and I have a lot of them, and they are not suffering from the lack of Combat Jumping, thanks.)
To reiterate what a lot of people have said, but maybe in a different way: Pool Powers can look enticing, but very few of the pool power attacks are worth having (Air Superiority is one of the exceptions since it has a high chance of knocking an opponent down and that can be very useful). You don't need multiple travel powers. Some of the more boring-sounding Pools are actually quite useful -- Stamina especially (part of Fitness pool). There are exceptions, and it isn't ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY as some will insist, but most ATs benefit tremendously from having Stamina.
(Also the earliest you can get Stamina is level 20, and you will have to pick up two other powers from that pool before then.)
Generally speaking your main primary and secondary power sets have a lot of useful powers that you will want to take and that are better than any similar Pool Power. When I see a new player that has multiple Pool Power attacks or travel powers and not very many powers from their primary, I wince a little. ^_^ -
Heh, no I made that up. Except for the part where someone named a D&D character Eunice Beauregard McGillicutty III. That happened in one of my campaigns, with a friend who didn't really grasp the concept of high fantasy or swords & sorcery...
