  1. The game is really balanced when the servers are down.
  2. That's what I was worried about. Public statements making people avoid my arcs.
  3. I like the more recent style they have been using. Before they would only highlight the sentence that sums up the objective in a green. Now they highlight words within the story that make up the main elements of the plot with orange.

After all, not everybody wants to read that novel you've been writing. They want to kick butt. Try to get a sense of purpose to the butt kicking is the real fun in creative writing, for me.
  4. Yeah. They still stand around outside. After all, where did you want them to run to?
  5. I found that spawning allies with triggers makes no guards.

Another Ninjitsu move is to give it to a non-combat ally that spawns on glowie (no protection mobs this way) and runs for door. They will have up to three lines of text. The player has to mouse over to see them, and even if they do, they are just an invisible outline and cannot be attacked.

That's all I can think of.

Work with the tools that you have, not the ones that you wish you had.

Flee at full health. Give Ninjitsu. Spawn on glowie.

You'll always see the 'not aware' text, and eventually the 'attack player' text, depending on the map size. Shouldn't be seen by the player unless they have good perception.

Perception debuffs suppress when the player is hit.

Unless there was a recent bug fix, and I've been avoiding -perception, I believe that was the way it use to be. There has been a number of times I've been doing AE missions solo, only to be blinded with my health slowly dropping.
  9. Tons of stuff they need to do to fix custom Critters.

    - Global mez protection in shields.
    - Control sets have 'Overpower' ability.
    - Fire/Ice shields resist 90% of fire/ice damage. Ice further defense ice attacks as most ice attacks are mixed with smash/lethal.
    - No Pistol set outside of of Masterminds that have unwanted summons when used.
    - Cannot make */TA Masterminds except Ninja and Necro.
    - Most attacks have a debuff attached to them, but don't seem balanced for the expected number to be hit on any given AT. This is very limiting when trying to make minion fodder. Level 2 player vs. 3x katana even minons can expect to have -32 DEF to -59 DEF reduced at any given time.
    - Intangible powers. Okay for Boss/EB/AV maybe, but extremely frustrating for lower ranks.

The list goes on. Just a note, I left -perception stuff off this list. This wouldn't be so bad if they made blind break on damage like it use to.
  10. I have an escort, where everything they say displays their name in the text box, while other NPCs talk normally. The Chat history doesn't show this error.

for example, say I have an ally (Icy Cool) and and escort (Dr. Feelgood).

    Chat History:
[NPC] Icy Cool: Hey. Ice to see you again.
[NPC] Dr. Feelgood: Thank you for saving me.

What is seen in text boxes
"Hey. Ice to see you again."
"[u]Dr. Feelgood:[u] Thank you for saving me."

Is it some bug with my arc, or has anyone else seen this come up?
  11. Problem with searching "1-15" is it won't pickup "2-16", which would be a disireable result.
  12. The number next to your star rating is the number of people who ranked, not the number of people who played. If you have zero stars and a number, then people are giving you zero stars on purpose.

You cannot rank your own mission. You can rank others, and you can change the rank after you vote
  13. Let me get this straight.

    Mission Enemy Faction = Main
    Boss Faction = G1
    Boss allies Faction = Group1

The mission would then spawn enemies in "Main" as normal, but their faction would display "Group1" or "G1" depending on their rank?

If that's so, that's some bug you got there.

I had a simular issue. I have random civilians to be saved from the pre-made group. If I make it a mission objective, they show up as normal, but if I made it optional, the citizens would use random models of the mission enemy excluding EB/AVs.
  14. I find any ally with ranged abilities will pull agro more. Melee is still bugged where they do not get close enough in range to hit anything half the time.

If you manage to give them lots of AoE (Fire Control + Fire Blast for example) they should be able to hold agro quite nicely unless you over power them.

If you out DPS them, or have any taunt in your attacks, then you'll take agro from them. I'm not sure what the benefit would be to having them hold agro this way. Their DPS subtracts from your exp/inf gain. If you want something that will grab agro and survive, I recommend using a control/defense combo. Personally, I make control/buff allies so they mesh well with almost all ATs.
  15. I agree. I've done normal missions and easily got zero drops on large teams.
  16. I haven't done testing since last patch, but before that, I'd get tickets at a rate of 29% of my solo rate if I teamed with 1 person. It dropped to less then 3% with 8 people.

In normal missions, on an 8-man TF for example, I could get a full tray if enhancements plus a large portion (10-20) of salvage, along with a couple npc and mission recipes and a reward merit, all within an hour. In AE, on the fastest of teams, I'd have enough for maybe 1 mission recipe.
  17. I've seen a number of 'all lvl' missions and the team is far too dysfunctional to cope. There would be only 2 or 3 people of the proper powers and function to be able to take on the threat, while the rest of the team would not be contributing much. Worst case for this was a tank on one team that was level 7. Couldn't taunt (outside punchvoke) and lacked needed defense.
  18. I do what Dugfromtheearth suggests. Works great. I wonder if you could do the same with a battle and get a double group.
  19. I have an intro arc in my sig. There is a longer one after it if you like the single mission. Has a story. Far from a farm.
  20. IIRC, that content stays in the game.

    Target levels

Add pre-existing critters with the desired level range to your enegy group ranks, or add a ally/ambush/boss/etc. that uses a group with the desired level range.
  22. I didn't read everything, but the Emote F/X doesn't work well with Shield Defense. The animation seems to work.
  23. I'm guessing the OP wants two named objective bosses, probably with dialog options.

I wonder if you could use your idea, and setup a rescue where the person being held hostage is the other boss who turns hostile.
