  1. Ok, so I dont have an export of my char (I think I can post an xml export from that new tool tho...), but I thought I would comment on how my char turned out at 50.

Through kind of casual slotting, I managed to get 24-27% def to ranged/melee/aoe, with the higher end of 27 going to melee/aoe, through weave and man alone + the two 3%s. I picked up over 75% s/l hardcap (so that even if I get debuffed some I am still at hard cap....), 60% energy resist, and ~30% resist to everything else with fire/cold at 36%. I am also running 75% recharge without hasten, but you could get that better too. Overgrowth has only a 1 minute downtime, which is no where near permanent but up plenty to have fun and enjoy with.

Is anyone else still working chars, and have they done anything similar with their natures?

Based on the WL2 kickstarter, with an assumed number of contributers at 13,000 people, at 47$ each (the average an individual contributed to WL2), we would generate $611,000, which is barely enough to be noticeable.
  3. when i click 10, nothing happens? I tried two different browsers.
  4. What does open source have to do with purchasing an IP franchise? Last I checked, absolutely nothing.

  6. If/when this goes kickstarter, slashdot.
  7. _guh_. Maybe if a ton of points for the market were included, so that we could get a start slotting SBEs. Starting from scratch with absolutely nothing would be horrifyingly slow.
  8. double makes the game unreasonably expensive in the f2p world. 5$ is reasonable however, especially if it came with an extra 100, 150 points per month!
  9. First char: emp/dark def (coh launch head start)
Last char: na/fire def (coh sunsetting)

    i24 push

Can the entirety of i24 be pushed live, bugs and all? It is the only way a lot of the populace will ever see or get a chance to play bio, mc, ma, all of the new blaster changes, instasnipe, all of the new IO changes, etc etc.

Let alone the incarnate content that came out of i24.

I understand that we have a huge movement to try and find a way to at least keep the IP player owned. However, this might generate some interest, since i24 was vastly game changing.....

First, even with generous player donations, I don't think it's possible to run an active MMO. The funding for even one "server maintenance guy" position is probably beyond what the community can pay. Moreover, there's the cost of server space, hardware, etc.
This is right on target. Currently the game has a community which provides a monthly stipend. However, because of the way its income is married to the NCSoft model, getting an accurate idea of what that income is and how it really breaks down is _very_ difficult. Starting with the IP owned in a community format would go far in trying to resurrect or keep functioning in an alternate setting.

Interestingly, the real cost is not the "server maintenance guy", server space,or hardware... It is the cost of bandwidth, which can run in the tens to hundreds of $k a month. Bandwidth providers such as the MS cloud or Amazon cloud might be very viable options, if the IP can be purchased. Buying off-the-wire from a major bandwidth provider is not going to be very likely.
  13. Never going to happen without a purchase of the IP and/or studio. Please focus your thinking along functional lines of how to divest PS from NCSoft. Money talks, other things walk.

There are definitely legal eagles in the community. We just need to procure there services. We also need a separate kickstart fund to pay for their services in an official and documented way, or find enough who are willing to work the case pro bono. (Free please!!! )

The point of this thread is to not talk about, but actually do.

Taking each signature and converting it to a 5$ donation via kickstarter for the outright purchase of the studio goes much further than a signature alone. And again, that can only happen with open discourse with the owner of the IP.
  16. All. CoH is coming to an end.

However, kickstarter is a way for us to vote with our dollars.

A concerted effort must be made to _purchase the studio outright_.

To do this, a communication channel must be established with NCSoft to discuss possible terms for sale/purchase.

We need to open that line of communication directly, ASAP.

Pebble/Andy/Whomever: we need to establish this. Please help.

We need _a formal_ organization which can process and formulate our concerns into a single response stream.

Discuss how we can approach this.

Lawyers in the community SHOUT OUT. We need you.

Probably. Its kind of lackluster by itself.

OOOOOOH. Has anyone tested it with the new +absorb proc in the heal set? Does it give absorb to people below 31% health or randomly proc?
  18. Max absorb cap from a single source for a bio brute is 100% of your _unenhanced_ hps. My brute with 2700hp and a default level 50 max of 1499? gets 1496 absorb when popping an absorb power. Thats 4200 effective hps.....

What's funny is, this isn't hurting mez recipe prices. I lowered my bids in response to the falling dmg purple market, and even at -14m from my previous buy price, I've been 100% shut out for the past 16 hours. Granted, we're only getting into prime time, but that's pretty surprising.
Im moving into greener pastures as well. 2 or 3 converters for 75 mil is kind of steep, but its better than nothing.

I am struggling with the price of purples. I want to buy buy buy, but I don't have that kind of bankroll. I think I will just sit this out indefinitely.

And how long is it going to take you to craft all that, and how much in startup inf for salvage?

I missed something. Time is clicky? I have 2 clicks, 1 power on auto, and 1 power I click after a long recharge.
  22. Ok, utterly strange and bizarre. However, nature has +damage built in, and frankly fire has one rocking snipe. I want to build for defense and resist somehow, merging the new io set bonuses with existing defense bonuses for added protection.

What do you think could be done with something like a fire/nature? I really would like to figure something nice out for this. Thanks!!
  23. Ok, what about using the new IO sets... How would you slot using those?

edit: I have a blaster with 40% s/l res from IOs, +32 % from other sources not including 3% io def (not slotted), and 40% e res from IOs with 26% from other sources (not including the 3%).

Since you can get lots of resist from the powerset, why not build a resist def/cor and slot elsewhere for defense and tack on man and other things for a combo approach? Seems you can have your cake and eat it to. (i24 specific!)
