  2. Why not slot 2 membranes in DA? The TW version with 2 membranes applies 22.1% def per application of sweep. That only leaves you a paltry 23% def to get from weave, kincoms, sj, and other things.
  3. There is stuff in the beta threads about this. To say the least, I am extremely excited about i21.5, and feel these new upcoming changes will make you guys feel good about running it as well.

  4. The fact that no-one knows when the next one will hit is disturbing. The fact that somehow I was missed on the 25th and the 28th is particularly upsetting.
  5. I have been sub'd since before Freedom has launched. I have opened two separate tickets with support indicating the lack of reward tokens since launch. My second ticket was responded to stating that I would get my token(s) on Oct 28th. It is now the 31st, and I _still_ have not gotten any tokens whatsoever. I have however gotten 800 monthly points and 2 char transfers. Could someone please explain to me where my reward tokens are, and if I will continue to have this problem? I find it very frustrating to have this issue persist. If we can not get this issue resolved for myself, and probably others, I see no reason to continue as a VIP after the expiration of my account, but to instead play as a premium.
  6. Yes. I have been told I would get reward token(s) on the 28th of October, since I was active since before Freedom launched (and have had a 1 year vip sub since before Freedom hit.....). I do not know where the original thread on this went, so I am restarting one.

    Other than me, who else _still_ has not gotten their reward tokens? I have gotten 2 char transfers already but 0 reward tokens. Doesnt this indicate I am not just 1, but 2 short?
  7. I have a TOE related question, but actually specific to doms.... An elec dom/troller get "conducive aura". For each mob around you, CA grants you +regen/+recov. It takes heal enh. Is this an actual targeting action that pulses? If so, doesn't that mean that TOE proc fires every time CA pulses???..... That seems to me to be absurdly useful if its true. Especially since CA has 0 end cost.

    People don't redside because, despite the ease of transportation, everything is better blueside, from ease of merit generation to ease of teaming, Make rewards much better redside and things would even out.

    This is what I was told in a support ticket. I believe I should have gotten a token in Sept, but since I am tier 8 already, I don't mind waiting. However, I am a bit miffed that we didn't get all our tokens up front for subing for an entire year prior to freedom going live.
  10. My renewal date is on the 9th. Specifically I renewed for a year +whatever on Aug 9th. Its Oct 17, 8 days past my my renewal date. Wheres my reward token?
  11. I went in at 20 as a squishy controller, fire/time. I play at stock 0/0 and have not had a hard time at all. The few times I bit it was because I got overly ambitious and tried to take more mobs on then I could kill at a time. Simply being more reasonable got me through without a problem. I take it slow and easy and eat candy wherever possible, and use my vet reward attacks _all the time_. Screw containment and that junk. My vet powers do tons more damage. And holding something? Sorry, at this level, killing faster is better than dying slower. I only have so much end, and it goes quick.

    Elec/Psi. At low levels you can probe/tk (fight at +1 so mobs dont get knocked back) and sit in the middle of the sleep and suck up regen/recov with aura. You can point blank dart or the other ranged attack if you want to; it does about the same damage as probe. You also get DP at low/mid level, which really enables survivability in melee range, and psiwave after that, which seeing as you are already in melee range, makes for a great psiwave/probe/tk/psiwave/probe/tk attack chain with enough recharge. You need a LOT of recharge though. Waking things up with psiwave is a nonissue because with enough -end mod in your aura, by the time you get to it mobs are already drained and can only whiff at you with something weak. Then they go back to sleep.

    I've done all sorts of doms, and elec/psi/ice stands by far as the most smashiest brute like control freak of a monster ever.

    Yes, DP is awesome. So is sleet and storm. I didnt bother with hoarfrost. I run elec/psi/ice. Elec gives recov/regen for being swamped with enemies, and so does DP. You have a chain confuse + chain confuse (purple confuse proc) if things get crazy. You get elec fences + the damage interface for lots of secondary damage. You have massively hard hitting tk/et for smashing bosses, and psiwave decimates lts and minions. Its win win win. And I never even intended to farm, it just kind of happened that I could when I was all slotted out. Its a char I can play any content, and solo some AVs with. If you take rebirth, you have a massive heal for when things get out of control that boosts your regen through the roof. If you get perma DP, it will keep you up forever. Largely I don't even bother with most of what's in the elec primary to be honest.... It just adds extra survivability where neccessary. What the elec primary DOES add is massive versatility at all levels when NOT farming. I can go all the way down to 20 on exemp and still kick ***, or run at 50 and smash ***. Totally recommend this.
  14. If I'm not mistaken, isn't the _best_ place to shove these into quads and trips? These are the ones that would benefit most from a little nudge, instead of something already having a huge value getting a little bit more.
  15. To OP: Don't bother with psyscream. I see you took it out, that was a good move. But subdue is utterly pointless if you are going to get in the middle with psiwave/DP. Drop subdue and take tk thrust. Before you complain that TK thrust does knockback, consider that it only does knockback on whites or lower, and not at all ever on a boss. Since you are looking to bang serious heads, you shouldn't be fighting whites in the first place. DP/psiwave/tkt/probe makes for an awesome attack chain. And if you swap //fire for //ice (I think you are), consider that storm and sleet are _excellent_ openers.
  16. If you are just looking for the easy road, elec/psi/ice (prim/sec/app) is a smooth ride past 12. Past DP, it does better in a higher difficulty (more mobs, not higher level) than it does higher level content (higher level, fewer mobs). For a reference, I can farm anything I want at +2/8 at 50. Some things are easier than others, like s/l mobs. However, I can run _anything_ at that level with that diff at 50. Ice/psi have a few powers that work well together, and you can pick and choose what you want to use. I for instance use very few powers in my primary. I dont even use the hold or aoe hold.... The conducive aura + drain psyche + the confuse are more than enough for me to control the situation. Frequently I dont even use the confuse, I just lay down sleet or storm. Sleet is a massive additional control for a dom to leverage. In any case, I can function equally well at 20 as 50. At low level I utilize my confuse and sleep more often, and pick off targets with hold and st attacks as neccesary. At mid level I sleep, confuse at a distance, then jump in the middle and pbaoe/melee everything in sight. It is truly a wonderful dom to mess with.

    edit: I have been known to go mano a mano with AVs as well, and in some cases actually solo them. I tend to forget I have an insp tray, or I probably would do better than I currently do...

Weeks after being told by various people that I need to go to NCSoft to change my password to regain access to the forums, after having done nothing for that time I find that I am able to log in again. I have faith everything will be fixed in due time. For sure, my problem was (and it was a fairly common problem).
  18. Elec/Psi dom. Stupid easy to play, stupid easy to get creative picking powers for, stupid fun. When you get to your EPP, you can pick all sorts of things for crazy chaos too.

    I run an Elec/Psi/Ice, and she is singularly my most awesome, broke, overpowered char ever. _EVER_. And I didn't farm her up to 50 either. It was trivial to do it the good old fashioned way. And doing tips the whole way got me a ton of LotG+ to fill me in. Permadom Permahasten PermaDrainPsyche PermaAWESOME. How can you loose?
  19. We were informed that we would see the benefits of our VIP status up front if we paid forward. I subscribed for an additional year specifically so I could get the benefits of a maxed out PR tree. And now you tell us we will not get this. Since I wanted the Celestial stuff, I, like others in this thread, will never see it now, as I will have to wait a year to get my tokens to fill the tree, instead of up front.

  20. OK, so I tried out my beloved elec/time troller. Well, I can lay down enormous amounts of control. However, I lay down pathetic levels of damage. If you dont mind not actually killing things, it can be amazingly fun to control a huge mob of nastys. It just doesnt lay down damage.

    In short, this is no good. There is no point in grouping when you can max out one or more types of defense via IOs and speed through solo content to get whatever you want. This is just no good. No matter how much you think giving the solo player equal reward, it will never happen. If you have 5 people, 3 of which solo because they are IOd out to the gills, and 2 of which try to group as much as possible, guess who is more likely to quit. Hint, its not the solo'rs. And the loss of those groupers will be felt. The game was always meant to encourage grouping, not trivializing it. Unfortunately, thats exactly what happened.

    The above quote, should be a red flag.

    If Trials would shrivel up because players were given an alternate yet equal way of getting the rewards they offer, maybe that's an indication that the majority of people don't like Trials.

    You don't have to BRIBE people to do things they want to do, that they enjoy.

    Because essentially, what you're admitting to is exactly that; bribing people to run content they really wouldn't want to run on its own merit.

    Now, obviously some people *gasp* love running the trials in and of themselves, and some people surely love to team. But since you think the Trials would shrivel up if you took the Trial-only-carrot away, that must mean you think they are in the minority.

    So, why are you creating content that you know and admit only appeals to the few and putting their desires ahead of the majority?

    IMO that is exactly what you do with Trials and other "team content":

    With only a couple exceptions, ALL regular arcs can be run by solo players AND teams. 'Team content' like trials can really only be run by teams.

    In other worlds:

    -Soloable content serves both camps of players; those who solo and those who team.
    -Trials, TFs and other 'team content' only serves one camp.

    And again, you can't argue that you honestly think the solo camp is minor or insignificant since you say Trials would shrivel up without them.

  23. At low levels, I would 5 slot it with whatever gives you the best bonus you want. It is a great power up to 30ish solo, if you play a char that requires a lot of setup. But post 22, many doms don't require a lot of setup. A ton of recharge and your chain confuse goes a lot farther then the sleep, unless you can already lay down multiple sleep patches at a time. Keep in mind your confuse generates no agro. But if you can lay down multiple sleep patches at once, I think you have access to a lot of other potentially more awesome options.

    I think the bosses are really all that matter. I mean really, they are what you fight the most of. Minions you just kill off.

    I like that you can buy some of these bits in paragon store.... Totally win in my book.
