Based on the above detailed bits, I think I am going to go elec. I have a powerful defense building tool in defensive sweep, but it only really provides meaningful melee values. Now, have to figure out what combination of powers works best.

I am still pissed about this overall anyway. Somehow I got awarded more tokens than I should have. But this means now I have no idea when I am actually supposed to get tokens. Go NCsoft! At least I get my points at roughly the same date each month.

I originally tried this for melee/ranged, and got at best 28.5% ranged, and 22.75% melee (not including one or possibly two applications of 16% def from defensive sweep).

Is that a better option than 32.75% e/n, 30.25% s/l for elec?

Or should i just go for 32.75% e/n, 30.25% s/l and pick energy armor? My concern about energy armor is that if I get hit at all, I don't have much resistance or anything to help save my bacon.

Well, I managed to scrounge up what looks like, without doing silly things to my powers:

32.75% e/n, 30.25% s/l

for an elec scrapper. I could get the 3% gladiator proc, but wasnt sure if it was worth it. Is this survivable at incarnate level madness? Could it probably hold a 2/8 mission with a +1 alpha?

Hi all! I am working on a TW/something. I am totally lost, confused, and more lost.

I have looked at all sorts of possible options for secondaries. A good friend whose opinion I trust says I should focus primarily on damage and beating things down before they beat me down. Use of defensive sweep he thinks is a poor decision. Another says that defensive sweep may not be a bad choice, but that if I am going to slot for defence, I should slot for typed defence instead of untyped defence.

I just don't know. I have 2 sets of oblits and 3 sets of erads to slot in something like /elec.If I went with /fire, I could slot 4 sets of erads and 2 sets of oblits. I am using 4 sets of makos, 1 complete set of gausian, 1 2part set of zephyr, 3 or 4 sets of reactive, 1 3% unique (not ga), weave, and sj. I have no clue what resists are like in scrapper set. I am going cardiac because I dont want to ever run out of stam. This gives me somewhere between 29 and like 33 or 36% ranged def. I have no clue what it gives me for melee defense (i may go 3 erad 3 oblits instead of 4 and 2), but with one application of membrane/lyso def, it should be pretty decent.

What kind of defence do I need as a scrapper to smash up 0/8 or maybe 2/8? /elec seems like a good partner, but is /fa maybe better for slotting for untyped def? I tried /ea, but its good on its own. You end up having to slot a bunch of other things for typed defense. Maybe instead of makos i could slot 4 sets of kincom?

This smells of win. If I can swap one oblit for another for some cost or something, thats fantastic.

Useless as in, why buy bound when you can spend less money, buy low level IOs, and boost them for the same or better results. Low level IOs can be had on the cheap sometimes as well if you scrounge. I would definitely rather spend a few bucks and boost the crap out of low levels then spend a lot of money on 6 enh that max out at 50 or 40 or 35 or whatever. For sure, aboosted 30 gives more enh value than a bound 30, for a given enh that maxes at 30.

Can you boost bound IOs that you purchase with points? If so, what the heck happens?

TouchOfDeath is nice for 400pts. However, is it still going to be on the market come i21.5? Because I have chars that want to use it there.

Id like to present a story....

About 3 months ago, I was leading a kill-everything ITF. We killed _everything_. We had all vets, but a few people who never ran the TF before. We cut all the way to the end of the ITF, despite people dropping (vets) because we were taking too long and people were dying lots. By the time we got to whatsisface, we were 4 people. We wiped 4 times. The blaster vet said screw this, I am sick of dying and quit. We were left with me, one noob, and one vet who hadn't completed it. I asked the team, I am sure we can do it, shall we try one or two more times? Next round I managed to tank whatsisface (elec/psi/ice dom.....) long enough and debuf him enough for the other two guys to beat the snot out of him. We finally got 1 fluffy down, and then the next fell pretty quick. After that it was a quick finish. Point being, the leader really needs to communicate and be willing to accept what the team wants to do. Finishing that TF netted one guy a really nice rare recipe, one guy a badge, and tons of exp in general. Some times, the team wants to do something you don't want to (I was pretty sick of team wipes by then), but if you started it, you really need to respect everyone on the team equally. I always always ask what the team wants before we start. Satanic Hamster (despite being a total grouch), also does it. Most people I know do it. If someone says kill all, well, at least we will kill as much as possible instead of stealthing. Exception being Kahn, because some of those maps are so brutal people can't even move due to the lag...

Why were dev/com threads broken? We cant really read them anymore in the new whacky style. Can someone please revert them to the normal style?

I dunno. I am going with TW/EA. I have no idea how to cap him to anything. I am going with 3 erad/2 membrane/somethingmulti in DS, 6 touch in one st attack, 4 kincom, 1 mako quad,1 end redux in my other st, 3 erad/somethings in 2 of my cones, and 6 oblits in my last cone. I have absolutely no idea what to slot anything else, but I am getting tough/weave also, and maybe/probably sj. The 3 sets of erad should give me 4.5 ranged def, 9 e/n def. The oblit/kincom should give me 5.6 melee and 5.6 lethal, and DS should give me ~35% melee/smash when stacked once. That alone should give me 40.6 melee not including my actual toggles. I have no idea what it would give me for e/n def. Is this enough ranged def when you slot out the toggles with def enhs? I am thinking to use hami-os if i can afford them, or else just 3 slot reactive armors for 1.8 ranged for 6.3 def total, and shove hami-os in there for the rest of the slots (4, maybe 5 slots in each def toggle).

At that point, including some buffed tough/weave, what am I really sitting at for defense? Would I be softcapped to e/n/s/m/r? EA doesn't have much resistance, so...

I finally got an answer from support that actually made sense. However, it is still frustrating to say the least. It seems that when Freedom launched, I got more tokens then I should have, and will not get a new token until my account catches up (in 2 months? maybe?). I double checked the math and yes, I really got more tokens than I should have. 4 to be exact. So, one (or two?) months have passed, so I wont get one in Nov, Dec, and possibly Jan. Which means no new tokens until Jan or possibly Feb. :| Unamused client is unamused.

You wont get all your reward tokens at once if you sub long term. You get them once a month, IF you get them at all.

Still no reply to my two open tickets on this matter. One was a reopened response to the ticket that indicated I should have received these on the 28th, and a brand new one on the 1st, when no response came from the earlier reopening.

edit: I can't even vote with my money. I have many more months of subscription already paid out. What still gets me, to this day, was that I sub'd for a whole year so I could actually get the t9 rewards. I am at the beginning of t8, and the year sub would have gotten me there to t9. Guess that will never happen.

I have submitted several support tickets and gotten no response, or a response that was clearly inaccurate. I too, have still gotten 0 tokens, despite being sub'd since before Freedom even launched with a long term sub. I shot someone a PM about this. I am not sure that support is really the way to go to get this resolved anymore, since they are clearly dragging feet or just not responding at all. I too was told about this October 28th date, and got nothing on this magical date. Nor did I get anything earlier in the month at all. Yet some how, I get my points (on or near the beginning of each month). Why can I get my points, but not tokens?! I currently have 2 transfers, so it seems that there should be 2 tokens due, like yourself and other friends.
