  1. Should I go

    TW/DA, or....
    TW/Elec

I really cant tell. And besides these two I am thinking of TW/EA scrapper.DA gets another 'all def' power in cloak, which stacks well with excessive applications of obliteration and makos bite for a large quantity of melee/ranged def, especially when adding in def sweep for lots of melee def. You get a damage aura, a stun aura, a massive heal which works great in huge swamps of mobs (where you want to be anyway with all the aoes in tw), a stealth/def aura, and resists which boost well with that new 27% res alpha.

Elec has lots of resists, so mako/oblit heavy builds with titcoatings or reactives makes up for a lot of ranged/melee def as well (again, especially with def sweep).

Between the two, which do you think is preferential, and why? And is it possible to softcap ranged (and not slaughter my melee def values) with DA? If you post a DA build, could you put it in long format, as I don't have mids and run a linux box? Thanks!!!
  2. I use probe/tk/psywave/sleet/storm as my attack chain. With ion in there somewhere. Psi-res mobs suck totally. But overall, with permadom/permaDP, i like it quite nice thank you very much.

While PSW is still the best PBOA available to Dom's, its now where near what it was, but on the other hand, a lot of damage was put in the rest of the set making the set overall more compariable to the other Assault Sets.

So if your Dom was built around spamming PSW, yes it was a nerf
or if your Dom uses any of the other attacks it is a major upgrade, even TK Thrust is viable attack power( if annoying with its knockback)

Or, they can just be filthy stinking rich from playing the market on 20 alts.
  4. I dunno. I am happy with COH, and they fixed my rewards points (finally, but better late than never), so really, I am happy. Plus TW comes out on Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I might use the helmet, who knows. The Reculse one looks pretty nice. Shrug. I feel stupid buying the boosters tho. I just found out that we can get 25 boosters at a time for each reward token we burn.........

    Happy subber, not leaving.

If it works on my /Invuln, it will work on a /EA. It's also important to remember that you're the Scrapper not the Tanker. You'll never be solo against Rularuu and if you let the Tanker go in first you'll be fine.
Booo I want to solo everything.

But EA has a psi hole. And its a pain in the *** to fill. This cuts off things at high level like rularuu, which will just stomp you flat. I wonder if /elec isnt better than ea, slotted for melee/ranged. You can get 30-32% in both pretty easiliy, to stick on top of elecs resists.

This of course is a YMMV deal.
Yes this. I bought 2 sets of LOTG and KinCom. Then I also bought 90 boosters.... What else I buy on market I can just boost, and use the playerbound items in a mix to frankenslot.
  8. Titanic Weapons. I made an Axe/Fire tank in like, i1 to play. She was supposed to be queen of the Warriors (since level 40 was max back then, they were pretty buff), and dressed like it. It was fun. But you know, Axe/ just doesn't have the flair that a ginormous humongous supersized axe/sword/whatever has.
  9. Let's get this discussion back on track!

Dark Astoria, solo incarnate content! Streetsweeping for threads and ixp! All level boosts functional! Plus it looks pretty.
  10. I have tried to purchase points 2 times with paypal. Both times it went through, but neither NCSoft have record of the transaction, nor Paypal. I DO NOT WANT 2 purchases worth of points. If NCSoft bills me twice I will be exceedingly angry. Why is this Paypal transaction not working or acting bizarre. I have _never_ had a problem with this in the past. I have submitted a ticket, which was elevated to "senior support", but there is no clear indication this will be resolved before the end of Black Friday!!!

As far as the game being "so alt-oriented", this is not true for every player. Many players only focus on a few (or even one or two) characters.
Hi. I have one char, that I barely play a few hours a week. Pleasure to be acquainted with you. I have neither the time nor the patience to set up a char to use IOs without spending very large spans of personal time. Being able to use a mixture of amerit generation and store purchase is great. And unlike many, I totally disagree that KinCom sets _are the bomb_. Sure, they are nice for some rare occasions, but thats just those occasions. People complaining in this thread seem to have a case of tunnel vision. Maybe there is more to this game then softcapping your s/l whatever.
  12. Holy crap. I like some of this stuff. I need to figure out first what I want to do and what to buy! But I am _totally_ down with buying all sorts of this stuff. The 400 point kincom sets and lotg sets look nice! Yeah, I have tons of amerits, but I would rather save them for %3 def for the bills. Lots of the 30-50 point stuff I am going to buy too!

I have heard this is actually a good use of jolting chain. Never tried it. Spamming the hell out of fences with reactive always did me good.

What could be the sooner I could have permadom? I have one or two sets of lvl 30 basilisks laying around with some LotG

Now, you can keep talking about ice
Soonest you can get permadom? Hmmmm. Maybe 35, if you pushed hard. If you wait till late 30s early 40s, you can pick up other sets which will provide other things other than recharge. At 50, you can slot a bunch of cheap purple sets and spiritual and totally kick ***.

Four for the first run through the SSA
Three for the second run through the SSA, a week later

That's 17 in 8 days, and you can get 14 in the next 8 days if I did the math right. Really depends on how you define it, and that's a lot of grinding no matter what.
And it costs $$ too because you have to convert. If you have money in the bank, then its no problem. But poor people may not have money from marketeering or tons of mishs, so converting lots may not be an option. It will still take a while. But people are definitely doing it. Ive amassed 10 merits on one char and 34 on another doing casual play over the course of a few months. That should be enough to get a char together and on top of that buy one of those fancy 3%s.
  16. I dunno if easier to get. Amerits are easier to get, yes. Small things are MUCH easier to get. What is not easy to get is a mass of 30+ amerits on a single char. That is still very difficult without lots of time and effort.

if you know how to marketeer then you could make 5-10x that in 15-30 min of "work" with the work just being crafting (its easier if you have /auctionhouse command then you can just sit in the university)
I meant who... i mean selling myself out for the auction.

I am one stupid reward token away from /auctionhouse
  18. I need money badly. Much like a wizard and food. Whats a half decent powerleveler get for 2 dedicated hoursish of smash and smash?
  19. I did not take the kd chain. However, I _did_ take both immobs, single and multi. I slotted both immobs with a full set of enfeebled operation. I operate at +50% s/l defense, but my e/n kind of sucks. I can take anything at 0/8 (elec/psi), but can only take some groups at +2/8. I have perma DP, hasten, and dom.

At 50, with reactive, my chain is fences, probe, tk, DP, psiwave, sleet, storm. Whatever is up, I push the button. I only use the sleep on rare occasions, and never bother with the ST or multi-holds. Even with dom up, its just easier to flop em with sleet, kill them outright with ion, or nuke them with my aura/psiwave and smash.

I don't know why you don't see elec/, because frankly its an insane set to run. I don't even need the gremlins, but lately on generic groups with tanks and things I have been using them more. I don't use barrier, but instead rebirth.
  20. I have a stone/elec, and I cant stand how slow stone animates tremor or whatever the pbaoe damage. Conversely I have a dark/elec tank, and while I love the dark part, I cant stand how slow the elec attacks are. Or how crappy their damage is. :| Id like something like TW/DA for a brute or scrapper. That would be cool.
  21. I just dont see how you can cap melee/ranged with tw/elec. I can get it in the 30%s, but no where near 45%. It is possible to softcat at 46-49% melee with a single application of defensive sweep. However, ranged, just cant see any way to do it with elec.

I was able to run all 3 leadership and arctic air (2 slotted for End Red) and run through my attacks - I would slowly run out of END but Dom would refill it.

All in all it worked well - thanks for the advice
Really, you probably want to put off actually using hasten until you are better slotted with IOs. Each use of hasten will nuke your end bar when it wears off. Since you are probably no where near perma-dom, you will most likely find this excess loss of endurance very frustrating.
  23. Yes permahasten. You got squat for AOE with stone/elec. fast attack chain means fast seismic smashes et al, all of which animate very fast. The faster your st repop, the faster you can mow through things.

They absolutely did. All in WWD1 and WWD2, they are talking about targeting people with "the right stuff". When you catch up to Liberty, guess what. She's being all ritualified. You don't ritualify some random schlub off the street unless its a really boring ritual, or you have like 50 schlubs. One Liberty-babe is all the schlub you need for an awesome ritual, and thats what they got. Keep in mind (omitted) was there in WWD1 at the end, and at the end of WWD3. In the same clothes. Talking about nuking powerful people. For some nefarious reason. You did read all the text, right? And you did see the big huge powerful zong-zong aura thing going on at the ritual sacrifice place, right?

Kill two birds, one stone. Its villainy in efficiency.
  25. Hm. 1/100 isnt as bad as you all seem to think it is. On a given trial, from 16-24, you actually have anywhere from a 16-24% chance of having it drop. On someone. Which means, selling it on the market will probably be more common than you guys think. I know for sure I would sell it on the market, because I have no DP char, nor do I really have any beamrifle or AR char (or thugs mm?) that would have any use for it. For me, its easy money.
