Quote:Yeah, it seems kinda wonky in general. I am oping that with 30 melee 35+ ranged and resilience core (+barrier) I should be able to stand up. Content below 40 I do pretty reasonably against at low difficulties. I think I might respec out of OG, because it just isn't making me "feel" it. The stun is nice, sure. But I dont think it will work well at all at Incarnate levels. Anyone have any input on OG at Incarnate/40-50 levels? Is cloak of fear way better if I can run it?You know, in one brief statement, you have encapsulated everything I've ever experienced with Dark Armor.
I look at the numbers, and on paper, it should perform like a monster.
In the game, it just irritates the ever-lovin' fun outta me. And with no fun, why play it?
Don't get me wrong, some people adore it, and can do incredible things with it. But not me.
YMMV. -
Ok, so I am in my 40s now. I do pretty OK now, and finally have some reasonable ranged def slotted. I still dont have enough slots to fill in all my powers with the enhs to boost my melee, or the rest of my ranged def.
I now have OG however, and well, it doesnt seem to be very helpful. I jump in a fight, swing a bunch, and before I can get a second or third AOE off, the mobs start to wander and I loose functionality. Mobs that all dropped before OG no longer do because they are out of my cone.
Is OG a waste of my time? It seems kind of useful, but also kind of irritating... -
I have been looking through a lot of dom builds posted here, and have not seen many builds with defense posted at all. I could not imagine playing without softcap def. Why is there such a dearth of builds focusing on rech/def? Everyone seems primarily focused on just rech.

I dunno. You don't have any defense to speak of. If you cant manage agro with creepers/plant/seeds, you would be in for a world of hurt.

Quote:I dunno... It is for me? Walk in, sleet, storm, chain fences, psiwave, mash some ST attacks, more psiwave, more fences, slurp end with my aura... I don't even use my holds. Against certain enemy types I might lead with a chain confuse, but then its jump in the middle and mash buttons.A Dom is the one AT in the game where the order in which you click those silly buttons on your tray makes the most difference in whether to succeed heartily or die like a noob.... It's not "k ill attack once or twice then I think I'll mez" no it's more like "I Will Mez Every Enemy Flawlessly and Definitely Not Carelessly AoE And Wake My Sleepers" or you die.
Admittedly, below 40 it was a little more hairy, but by 40 I had already softcapped s/l, had permadom, and all the powers I would normally use in a fight. Having permadom at 35 made 35-50(whatever) trivial. At 20, I just slept and ST blasted my enemies and ran 0/2 mishs solo. +2/8 mishs at 40-50 are for the most part super easy.
I just have a distinct lack of HPs. :| -
If someone gave me 1-4 b, I would surely burn it in your efforts for you. For real. Really.

I 3 slot your built in shield with lotg that i boosted. It gets max def anyway that way. Id then use 2 of the slots in your follow through, which does not have 6 for makos bite 3.75% ranged defense. 6 slotting man and weave with red fortune is pretty nifty and I will pick this up myself. However, I slotted death shroud with just 4 erads, 3 of which I boosted. Consider picking up spring attack instead of hover (which is just slotted with a defense and no speed anyway), and moving 1 slot to spring attack and the extra slot from cloak into it, for a 3 slot erad ranged def bonus. It gives you a nice pbaoe starter, that you can follow up with whirl and then whatever you want.

Quote:Depends. I've done it. It is interesting to attempt to farm with TW. However, you always have to point in the right direction, or else your cones are just wasted endurance. If you oversaturate agro and have no room to move, then it doesn't matter. Else, pointing in the right direction is necessary, and gets old quick. How well do you guys think this would farm compared to the lord of farming, SS/FA? I don't farm much, but I would like the option if possible. I figure that if it winds up being worse it won't be by much, due to the fact that TW is AoE Heavy (Three cones, one PBAoE).

Quote:Seriously.Well, let's see here.
-Heroes win when they defeat the Fifth Column in Cimerora. Villains can aid the heroes in this victory.
-Heroes win when they defeat the Rikti. Villains can aid the heroes in this victory.
-Heroes win when they defeat the Praetorians. Villains can aid the heroes in this victory.
Villains win when.... they... help the heroes... win.
C'mon, son. -
Halve the amerit cost for purples and pvpios. Nobody buys purples with amerits, but at 10amerits each, I think it is reasonable. That is about 1bil in inf if you converted it all to lotg +rechs. Since you wouldn't have to pay market fees on each 100mil transaction, it seems OK for purchase of high value purples. 10-15 for pvpios also seems to make them much more accessible.

I know nothing about StJ outside of like, level 15. However, TW/EA is a great performer on SOs past the 30s. It functions well enough on SOs, that I would be really amazed to see what it could do on IOs. It is sturdy, has excellent benefit in the built-in-recharge, and has useful recovery bits. My original plan was to go TW/EA over TW/DA. For sure TW/EA was MUCH easier to play. While I do not regret my decision to go /DA, I definitely think that /EA would have been so much more fun in the early/mid game that it would have just made up for the lack of cool factor I feel with /DA.
edit: Hmmm, yeah. Defensive sweep doesn't play to EA's defense strength, and vice versa. You might be better off not taking it at all, or slotting it with procs or similar instead of trying to wrangle low melee defense numbers out of it. -

I think part of the problem is that I imagine flooding you with low damage, vast mobs would be ineffective. Having that many mobs on the map that you could take notable damage would probably crash a lot of peoples computers/video cards. So how do you get these people into the fray? Drinking Enriche, as was brought up earlier, seems like a reasonable way of doing it. Mind and body control in a bottle.

hot is just dot of - amount. It isn't damage in reverse.

I just tab to a more healthful opponent and let my aura of death (slotted with a full oblit set) take care of the job. However, I do admit this sliver of health thing drives me crazy too.

I don't run hasten at all and have no problems at all with endurance. The most rech i have is from my LotGs, and built into my powers. Slow and steady wins the race!

I had just read a thread (I can not find it now) that indicated on Beta, enhancement converters will no longer be available for purchase on the market.
My issue with this is two fold. Announcing the converters shifted vast quantities of wealth around. It seriously impacted how people thought of, and bought, various recipes of high value. My question is this. At no point did the devs ever indicate it would be possible that they would strip these from the market. Doing so seems to be a kneejerk response to pvp farmers no longer being able to charge 2+bill for their enhancements, something that was already excessive to start with.
I think it is completely unacceptable that something listed as market worthy is being stripped from the market without warning or indication as to why. The value of marketable enh converters puts the market on a more level playing field, where you no longer have enh being sold in excess of the inf cap for a given player, and enables players to purchase such items without abusing the nature of the market to store multiple billions of inf.
Back to my twofold question. Why was a decision like this made by the extreme minority (it didn't even include the voice of VIPs), and why was a decision like this made without formally notifying the community that something would be retracted from the market that was explicitly stated would be part of the market? -
Hm. I think that is considered cheating. Alternate dimensions/timelines should not be considered valid in this argument. I mean hell, Council have their own dimension, and they are total loosers.

Reply to this thread with an YES SIR! if you want Recluse to come out on top of the WWD arc!
Naysayers, go away. -
Time travelling corpse-blasting. What's not to like?

I have absolutely no idea whats going on when I play my TW char. I swing, the screen shakes, I get a good rumble, people "get arrested". There is too much chaos going on for me to see any of this stuff.

The mix/match thing is stupidly useful. In oblit, you would want to buy the oblit quad at 32-50 (anywhere is good) and +5 boost it. However, the damage and the chance for damage are pretty meaningless. You wouldn't boost them, and they add so much anyway (one cant be boosted and doesn't matter what level, the other is already a huge +dam) as is, that buying them with points is really the only way to go. Chance for is 2 amerits. Damage is 1 amerit. Or, you can just buy a whole set and some extra chancefors and go from there. But unless its a useless power you are slotting, I would definitely not buy the quad. Mixing and matching is by far the best way to go.
Keep in mind however, that +5 boosting a level 50 IO makes for HUGE differences in total value.
