  1. Heres one you might not have thought about. 2 slot theft (heal, proc) 3 slot erad (or 4 for the bonus hps) slot something extra. If one of your erads is the proc, you are doing bonus damage possibly every time it triggers. And you get more n/e def then the weird mix you currently have. 2 theft 4 erad is probably your best bet for a brute for the extra hps. On a scrapper, I run 2 theft 3 erad, and have no problems at all healing to max with 2 mobs around me. The heal is large enough that even just 1 mob is sufficient to keep me going even in the worst of times.

No? I have acrobatics, and I have turned it on exactly twice. My 4pt kb defense IO is more than sufficient with my over-softcap ranged/melee. KB on trials is trivial. I was expecting it to be much worse, but really, I get knocked down maybe once every 3 mishs. This may be because of my very high defense. YMMV.

edit: Oh crap, sorry for responding to a necropost. Point still stands.

    TW or StJ?

I would disagree with this. Admittedly I have Physperf, but it is slotted with just the proc. Running tw/da, I have no problems with endurance, without chewing blue skittles, all the way to 50. I can't run acrobatics, but I have found I really don't need to either. Given that my build is very end heavy with 3 sets of frequently used oblit powers, shroud, cloak, man, cj, weave, tough... with your statement I should be sucking wind every few seconds. But I really am not. It may just be my build, but I think it is important to note that really you don't need to run EA or Elec to be successful. If I can do it with DA, I am sure someone can do it with WP or FA.

I like redside stories more tbh. But the blueside rewards are sooooooooooooooooooo much better.

It is rare that I might find myself disagreeing with you, but in this case you are wrong.

Scarcity is irrelevant when one can be purchased with merits or inf, and the other can not. Their scarcity is not apples to apples.

When presented with this fact, the only rational course of action is to not use hamios, especially given an equivalent benefit from IOs, frankenslotted or for generic non-set use.

My comment was in reference to people using enzymes and lysosomes, insomuch as those no longer working, at least membranes still do.

As I stated in that thread your point is somewhat misleading as Hamidons are superior to ordinary set pieces and equal to a fully boosted set piece. It may be cheaper to frankenslot with set pieces but using Hamidons is better if you can get them and the right one exists for what you need.
You probably should have read the whole bit I posted. Using what you said there (might as well just use this thread)

    Hamidon 20%/33%
Luck of the Gambler (level 50) 15.9%/26.5%
Luck of the Gambler (level 50 boosted 5 times) 20%/33%

I am sorry, but a LotG is VASTLY cheaper than a hamidon enh, and far easier to get. And it is trivial to boost as well. So why should I run multiple LRSF/STF/raids to hopefully get something that is only as good as a much cheaper boosted IO? (edit: I can also buy aformentioned LotG with amerits or reward merits if I felt like it, instead of hard cash. I can't buy the hamio.)

    I wouldn't.

If I could boost the hamio, then certainly I would.

If true then Active Defense (the example I used) won't have any use for the defense portion of membranes as Active Defense doesn't take defense.

Also mind link (as Mr. DJ asked about) would not take any recharge portion of Hamidons as that power doesn't accept recharge enhancements (sets with recharge would presumable still work in it).
Membranes work fine in divine avalanche and defensive sweep. So it might still work? Best to just try.
  9. I posted elsewhere, but that thread seems to have disappeared? I got no notification why...

In any case, if they are going to fix hamios (which is fine, I already reslotted accordingly), can they at least give us the ability to +++++ boost them? Frankenslotting IOs is cheaper and has waaaaaaaay better effect than hamios now, since you can boost the IO sets, but you cant boost hamios. This makes hamios less attractive except in edge cases.
  10. What what? What is an invention coupon? How do they work? What is the benefit of one? This is the first I have ever heard of these things...

Yeah, I will have to say I have seen a few tw/da fall flat on their faces. I'm not sure why to be honest. I have a macro that converts all sorts of things into purples of different sizes. When I hit arachnos, I just chew on purps till I am back up to softcap as neccesary. I got the tip from the squid forums where some guy was doing it for some reason I forgot. Also I monitor m/r/a and tohit so I know how bad off I am. I noticed that I would get my *** kicked if I let tohit get debuffed too badly.
  12. Neither. TW/DA. I was able to softcap ranged, and almost softcap melee, _without using def sweep. And the char was easily playable from 25ish -50. I picked up def sweep both as an erad, lotg mule (plus hamio slotted), and to overcap melee for incarnate trials, where the extra defense really helps. I am picking cardiac ONLY because acrobatics and maneuvers was a little too much to run without it. Those picks were at 44 and 47, and acrobatics was functional without it but just barely. Running cardiac just makes it easymode to play the char post 47. It is already kind of easy mode as is, allowing me to run +2/8 solo to many mobs. The psiresist is helpful for untyped psi damage as well, which is somewhat common in iTrials, plus carnies.

However, my resists are kind of slightly better than mediocre. The heal goes a long way to mitigating that.
  13. Ive run kill-all ITFs that went as fast as speed runs, due to the extreme damage output. Like usual, the big bag o' hps that is the console took a lot of time. But barring that, the tf ran stupidly fast. I would not say those people were just running past everything.

    TW/REGEN Build

Sweeps' ability to get Melee up to 45% on one or two applications is a very strong aspect to a TW/Regen's tool-kit. Assume Weave: 6%, Steadfast: 3%, Maneuvers: 3.5%, Combat Jumping 2.5%, Gaussian's Set: 2.5%, totals out to 17.5%. If afforded: PvP+Def for 20.5%. Come up with 12% to Ranged/AoE (three 3% Bonuses each, should be more than capable), and appropriate slotting in Defensive Sweep would put the build at 45% Melee and 32.5% Ranged/AoE. Along with using Sweep, the chance of piling up to 59% for iTrials also improves */Regen's survivability.
I shoved a lysosome in def sweep with a +5 boosted def/+rech lotg for massive +def bonus when swinging the def sweep.... It makes a HUGE difference in the melee def boosted.
  15. You can softcap ranged and nearly softcap def sweep out the gate on bonuses alone, without even a single application of def sweep. This is on set bonuses alone... In my tw/da build, it required dropping BM, but doing so got me tactics running full bore with tons of tohit bonus. Dropping BM kind of sucked, but since I just ran it on auto, it wasn't really noticed as being gone. Swapping it for man/tactics gained me 7.25% def across the board. That put me, on bonuses, weave, and my cloak, at 36% def melee and 42% ranged and 24% aoe. I am not sure if WP has any aoe/ranged defense at all, but even a little would make tw/wp softcap to all positions with just 1 application of def sweep slotted however you want really, and significantly boosted aoe def and overcap ranged.... I managed those stats at 35...

A 4% difference in resistance totals really just doesn't seem a valid argument for the amount of blue-bar you'd save off of Cardiac. I could see the reasoning if the secondary had access to Consume or Power Sink, but it's TW/DA, Endurance Monger and viral consumer of all things Blue.

Additionally: Body Mastery - Conserve Power and Physical Perfection
I already have Conserve and PP, so I am pretty set for end usage without cardiac. The extra res does help though.
  17. You are slotting cleavingblow (3) and erad (3) in your 2 cones +pbaoe, and I guess the same in defsweep? That gives you 4.4ish e/n def, which you seriously need in iTrials due to the massive amount of inbound energy? That plus the 2 +3% defs would get you 22% e/n def by itself. I really would not recommend giving up e/n def just to completely saturate s/l def.
  18. Ok, so my tw/da is at melee softcap with 1 application of def sweep (go hamio +lotg!), and my ranged is just flat out at soft cap. I only have 20% aoe def.

I have 2 power picks left. 47/49. I have _no clue_ what to take, since I can in no way afford slots to contribute to them. I have tough/weave/punch, cj/sj. I have _all_ powers from tw except confront. I have neither OG nor CoF. I cant really stand OG by itself, since it makes the mobs wander out of all my cones, and I don't think I can support CoF on just 1 slot of end redux. What is a good pick for those two powers that can work with just the one slot?

I am taking Resilience core at 50, and definitely not cardiac.

A 100% full set of base salvage (containing every piece that was once available in the game) is worth a lot more to a collector than 10k a piece and a bunch of brain storm's.

Still, thanks for the post and interest.

No point outside of collecting. Just another 'thing' to show off on your main toon, such as badging. As said before, some of the pieces are just extremely rare and worth having around.
Thanks for this enlightening post! I have TONS of salvage, including a full set. I should go make me some money!

Elec/ already has 0 problems sinking mobs. Plus, if you are running permadom (which is kinda easy to do with elec/), +end is pointless. You are already soaking up a full bar of end every time that dom goes off.

Ok, I can see a relative need for either hover or CJ. Since tw is whacky in the air, cj seems less... whacky. However, I do not see how you can say "you're a tank" then say "must have hasten" in the next breath. I'm a scrapper and have 0 problems not having hasten. In fact, having crushing blow fills out my attack chain so I am _never_ without something to smash on some mob. Hasten has an irritating end crash. Further, it doesn't speed up the rate at which you are making attacks within momentum. At best you can shave a few tenths of a second off a power during momentum, thanks to diminishing returns, which is not enough to squeeze another attack in, or at least one of the ones you seem to be hoping to get by speeding its recharge.

I am definitely not sure about the not-taking-taunt bit. I mean, that's like one of your foremost tools... so I agree with this posters assessment everywhere except this hasten bit.

I completely disagree. I just like standing in the middle of agro cap throwing whatever controls/damage I feel like and killing stuff willy nilly. If I wanted setup, Id play a controller or stalker or something. Dom gives me damage and control, and I just pick whatever the hell I want to mash that moment to get the greatest fun.
edit: With permadom/perma DP/perma hasten, why do I need more recharge again? Defence just seems like the only place to put IO sets anyway. To be fair, my build is hideously expensive without including that dam 3% pvp def io.

    (Sure beats my tw/da scrapper....)

This is what I did. I just haven't seen any posts emphasizing defence at all (we all know go for broke to get permadom...), so I was curious why. I would like to revist my build and see if I can softcap e/n as well, but that might be much more difficult.
