Note: I've got another post that is the schedule for any CoP's that I'll be running. It'll cover my CoP's through the the end of 2010 and into 2011.
I will be organizing a CoP double-header on Sunday (1/2/2011) at 5pm EST (2pm PST). We'll start gathering in Pocket D approximately 15 min before. If you are interested in running do one of three things.

(Side Note: If your character has a quirk to it, such a being a tank without taunt or a bubbler/thermal without the shields, please let us know about if ahead of time. And no, it doesn't mean you can't participate, just let us know.)
I'm going to be a little picker about the characters selected for the next few. Mostly this means once certain roles fill up, additional players wishing to participate for the same role, will be listed as an alternate. If we can't find 24 to fill all roles, obviously we'll take what we can get.
I've expanded (and touched up schedule) for The Cathedral of Pain Trial. Here's what it currently is.
4:45pm - Start Gathering in Pocket D (Please show up before 5pm, it helps me a ton with team placements. I'll be in Pocket D at 4:30pm.)
5:00pm - Targeted start time for Blue Side CoP. (if we don't have 90% of the 24 person roster by 5:30, I'll call off the Blue CoP.)
6:15pm - Rikti Raid; One run only, just enough so players can get the vanguard heavy. (to begin immediately after the 1st CoP)
7:00pm - Start gathering in Pocket D for the Red CoP. If you need Shivans, use this time to go get them.
7:30pm - Targeted start time for Red CoP. (If we don't have 75% of the 24 person roster by 7:45, I'll call off the Red CoP.)
This week the first run will be blue side and the second will be red side. Every week this order will be flipped so that the opposite side starts first. For example, if you set up a character to run a villan/hero morality mission, you'll be able to run your morality mission after/during the rikti raid (if doing this make sure you've got shivans/HVAS taken care of ahead of time) and run 2 CoP's with the same character in the same day. So if you're a vigilante and want to run twice this weekend, set up your character so you have done 10 villain alignment missions and only need to grab/run the villain morality mish to become a Villain,.
Couple of things...
- Make sure you are of the correct alignment. Blue = Hero & Vigilante; Red = Villain & Rogue
- Have at least 10 or so uses of the Envenomed Dagger at your disposal. Make sure it is in your power tray to use too.
- If you can get Shivans/HVAS, please try to do so. This is not a requirement, but it does help out. A LOT.
- Stock up on inspirations. (details in the guide)
- Actually READ the CoP Guide. Can't stress enough how much this helps out our chances of a successful trial.
- Add yourself to the Guardian CoP Channel. We'll use this channel to communicate during the trial.
- If you don't know how to get in on the channel, here's how. Right-click in your chat window and select "Channel Search". Type in "guardian" as the search terms and click "Search". Select "Guardian CoP Trial" and click the "Join Channel" button.
- I recommend creating a new chat tab that only displays the Guardian CoP Trial channel.
- Grab a jet pack if you can't fly.
- If you're planning on an I19 respec, please consider adding in Assault. If we get 10 people on this trial with it, that's somewhere between a 105-188.8% damage buff for the group. Maneuvers & Tactics are helpful too, and if you've read the guide, you know where vengeance falls into place for this.
-
... and the win streak continues...
-
Success on both runs!
As of 11am the morning of I only had myself and one other person for the red side run for 5pm. It took until 5:45 to kick off the trial, but can't believe I got one organized that quickly with all things considered. Got Stormy again, but beat him senseless yet another time.
As for the blue CoP, we ended up having someone be afk during the the entire trial (tisk, tisk) and even though we had a whopping ZERO tanks among our three teams, we were still able to take down the Aspect of Rularuu and keep the death toll very low, if there were any at all. Amazing. -
Not looking good so far...
It's been busy with work this week for me so I haven't been able to recruit for this 4 to 5 days ahead of time... but I shouldn't have to keep doing that. -

Update - 1/16/2011: I'm making a slight change to the signup process for the CoP's. I'm no longer going to be creating individual forum posts for signups. Instead, I'd like for all signups to be done through in-game emails or tells to @Omega Shockwave. I figure everyone who will do the CoP will actually be on the game at some point and this will help get all of the signups kept in one place (makes it easier on me,
).
Update - (sometime mid-May 2011): Omega has retired from the CoP's.
This thread should still NOT be used as a signup for CoP's.
Comments/feedback/war stories on the latest CoP's ARE welcome on this thread.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Issue 20 is now upon us and like many of you, I've got lots and lots of threads to collect.... so I'll be pulling back on the frequency of CoP's to once every 4 weeks. I've also decided to run 2 rikti raids every week and have moved everything up an hour.
I'm still doing everything I can to to shorten the time it takes to get these set up and going. Here's the best way.
- Show up on time when we gather to form teams.
- If you commit to a run, show up. I do take notes on that stuff.
- Let me know signup info ahead of time. In game emails to @Omega Shockwave work best.
- If you want to run the CoP, don't just plan on a spot being available. Let me know you'd like to run. If you aren't 100% that you'll be around, still let me know (but also that you might not be there).
- Don't make us wait for you to finish TF's/arcs/etc if at all possible.
- If not enough show up within a certain time I reserver the right to call off that week's CoP.
- Sign-up options
- send an in-game email to @Omega Shockwave
- send an tell to @Omega Shockwave
- What I need to know when you sign up
- Global Name
- Local/Character Name
- Archetype
- Level
- Primary powerset
- Secondary powerset
- What date you are signing up for
- Read the CoP Guide
- Craft the Envenomed Dagger (& have it in your powertray)
- Grab inspirations (details in the guide)
- Join the "Guardian CoP Trial" - we use this to distribute instructions during the trial. Might be using League chat though... I'm leaning toward it, but haven't made a final decision yet.
- Highly recommended: Grab the Shivan Shard (Bloody Bay temp power) and HVAS (costs 250 Vanguard merits in RWZ). These are VERY helpful during the trial.
None. I'm retired from the CoP. I'll help consult on it if anyone needs help with it though.
*The schedule is subject to change. I may need other people to take the reigns from time to time (most likely with the Rikti Raids) -
Note: I've got another post that will be the schedule for any CoP's that I'm running. It'll cover my CoP's through the the end of this year and into 2011.

A couple more things...
1) If you're reading this thread and want to join this, but haven't signed up for the forums yet, just send an email or a tell to @Omega Shockwave.
2) I appreciate that people are willing to bring whatever we need to these, but it makes it really hard to plan out the teams in advance. The best solution is to let me know who you're planning on bringing to the trial and if you have the ability to bring something different in the event our teams are not balanced. I don't need to know the alt chars, but I would like to know the following from who you intend to bring.
- Character Name
- Level
- Primary Powerset
- Secondary Powerset
- Quirks (eg. tank w/o taunt, bubbler w/o shields)
-
To clear up the confusion about running this twice with the same character...
It CAN be run twice with the same character even though the second one will be on the opposite alignment.
What I meant to say if you're a Rogue during the red CoP you can potentially run this twice with the same character, NOT villain/rogue. (my mistake, was dead tired while posting) Villains cannot set it up so only 1 mission is needed before crossing sides, rogues can.
To do this, make sure you have run 10 Hero alignment missions before the Red CoP on your rogue. Then when we break for the Rikti Raid/Shivan reload (preferrably during the Shivan part), go grab/run your Hero morality mission. Presto! Now you can run it again on the opposite side.
The ability to do this is part of the reason I'm alternating which side runs first each week. It takes at least 8 days to go full circle with your alignment, but the way I've got it lined up you just need to go half way (4 days needed) each week to run it twice once you've got it set up correctly.
I'm sure not everybody will choose to do this, but I think it's a good option to build into these runs. -

For those who are serious about getting this badge/alpha slot shards/actually being part of a successful trial, I'm expanding what is being run. Here's the planned schedule (all times are EST and subject to delays)
4:30pm - Start Gathering in Pocket D
5:00pm - Targeted start time for Red Side CoP. (realistically will be 5:30,)
6:15pm??? - Rikti Raid; One run only, enough so players can get the vanguard heavy. (to begin immediately after the first CoP)
7:00pm??? - Organized Shivan run immediately after Rikti Raid.
7:30pm - Targeted start time for Blue Side CoP.
This week the first run will be red side and the second will be blue side. Every week this order will be flipped so that the opposite side starts first. So, if you set up a character to run a villan/hero morality mission, you'll be able to run your morality mission during the shivan run (if doing this make sure you've got shivans taken care of ahead of time) and run 2 CoP's with the same character in the same day. So if you're a rogue and want to run twice, set up your character so you have done 10 hero alignment missions and only need to grab/run the hero morality mish to become a Hero,.

We got Stormy again...
... but kicked his butt this time.
Very good run tonight people. We ended up starting an hour late because we had to drum up more interest for it (2 hrs before we only had 8-9 of the 24 spots filled, and a few of them weren't even able to make it).
Once we got started it went pretty smooth. We took down the resonators in our first attempt. Once inside the cathedral we broke down what the plan would be before we ran it. There weren't any false starts during the explanation and only a few questions after delivering it.
As a buffer, I'd like to see us get the formation right one of these times. Watch the flash animation and it will be crystal clear. This formation is ultra-helpful to shield buffers because there is always line of sight.
I'd still like to see us break out of the huddle faster than we do. The break is called out over the voice server and over the Guardian CoP Trial channel so I'm not sure what I can do to speed up our reaction time. And tanks/brutes, please get to your cubes ASAP after the huddle break. There were a few squishy AT's that first engaged with the cube spawns. Come on melee chars, have some pride here!
We took down the mob and went after the Aspect of Rularuu. We got him down to about 25% of his life bar before the shields were back up. We still are a little slow when switching between the Aspect and the mobs, but I will say that this was by far the best reaction time with switching of all the trials I've been on. Excellent job with that everyone!
When we got back to the Aspect, he was back at about 45-50% health and we finished him off.
A great run and thank you to all those who participated. -

I will be organizing another blueside CoP attempt on Sunday (11/14/2010) at 5pm EST (2pm PST). We'll start gathering in Pocket D approximately 30 min before. If you are interested in running do one of three things.

- Send a tell to @Omega Shockwave
(Side Note: If your character has a quirk to it, such a being a tank without taunt or a bubbler/thermal without the shields, please let us know about if ahead of time. And no, it doesn't mean you can't participate, just let us know.)
Couple of things...
- Make sure you are of Hero or Vigilante alignment.
- Have at least 10 or so uses of the Envenomed Dagger at your disposal.
- If you can get Shivans/HVAS, please try to do so. This is not a requirement, but it does help out a lot.

Please let me know the name/AT/primary/secondary of the character you'll be bringing. If you have multiple options to bring, that's great, but please let me know who you would prefer to use. This is NOT meant to exclude certain AT's/sets. This is to help assign players to teams as quickly as possible while balancing the teams out properly.
(Side Note: If your character has a quirk to it, such a being a tank without taunt or a bubbler/thermal without the shields, please let us know about if ahead of time. And no, it doesn't mean you can't participate, just let us know.)

A friend (Azure Lightstar) is also interested in this if we're still looking. His char is a Grav/Rad controller. His global is @Azure Lightstar.

I'm down for this one (Princess Scarletta (emp/elec/psi defender) if you'll take me. I'm not really a controller, but I can add a lot of mag pts for holds to AV's/Hero's with my 2 single target ones. Plus I've got a secondary set pet to pull out of my sleeve and can provide some first rate healing/buffing.
