Just to confirm that this is the eight for tonight?
[/ QUOTE ]
I would definitely prefer 8:30pm (and I think Fire Inspector too). If it has to start at 8pm, I'll do my best but can't promise to be there, so no worries, go ahead and start. -
Triple Gratz to Double! Sorry I couldn't stay until the end... And if you go for a troller, hope to see you in the Overlords

[/ QUOTE ] MoG? More like Invulnerability's Unstoppable.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I guess it's closer to Unstoppable. Just meant that it temporarily increases your damage resistance and allows you to get close to the cap (at least for for S/L) with increased endurance recovery. Hence the "mini"That's what happens when you've never managed to get a scrapper/tank past L20

To our favourite healer-in-speedos, Jumanjiation: gratz mate! Another Coalition 50

could you tell me if i can still use invis when using temp.invul, PFF or both??
[/ QUOTE ]
Am pretty sure, both. Temp Invuln is just a shield, so you can use any power. PFF lets you use any power that affects yourself, so should be fine too (but dunno since I don't have invis)
-
Jewely,
Chango has Force and I like it a lot. I skipped the repulsion field because I am in melee quite often. PFF is really only useable as a panic button when you are getting overwhelmed. Temp Invuln has the highest shield resistance to Smashing/Lethal damage (but not other types) so nice to always have on (I slot 3 dmg resists and 1 endred). My favourite power is actually Force of Nature. It's like a mini-MoG: it gives you 2 minutes of scrapper-like resistance (well not quite, but still 35% to all but psi unslotted), higher end recovery, and then your endurance (not health) drops (but you can just pop a blue and be back in business). Recharge is very long of course, so I have 3 dmg res, 3 recharges on it. Lets you get real close to AVs if you use melee powers like meHappy to show you in-game some time if you want (Blapper also went for Force, so he can tell you what he thinks about it).

well i still maintain the opinion it was the team spreading out and each going their own way that failed it...
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe both? But Stage, are you sure about your idea to go for the mobs at the gates? It certainly makes the empath's job at lot harder (and mine, when I was trying to SB you). Dunno, it's just that I've never been in a team going for this approach. -
[ QUOTE ]
anyway okty feel free to join in once more and yeah i think we can move it back a bit if thats ok with the rest
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks. Will check the thread on Wednesday to see if that's ok with the others.
[ QUOTE ]
O an ji, no you cant come, we plan on SUCCEEDING this one
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually now that you mention it, the previous one which we failed did include some n00b tank called "Artist of Shredding"But maybe it was our attempt to beat the sk/exemp system which didn't totally work, so we ended up with one lvl 30 and everyone else 28 or less facing 31/32 mobs

Just don't pick DM/DA as your first unless you are into frustration in a big way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Feel free to kick out my alt Darchangel (yes, DM/DA) if he's still there and you need the space. Don't think he'll be going anywhere fast

Yeah, don't you just hate it when people bump the thread?

Err phil 2nd respec is sky raiders, freaks is the first one :P
[/ QUOTE ]
Ermmmm... nope... for once Phil's got it right -
Stage,
After not failing a single respec since I4, I've managed to miss this one twice in a row, so would like to try it again with Tleo (fire/kin troller, should be 30/31 by then). Really want to have it before hitting 32. Would be great if you could move it back to 8:30pm, but if not, I'll do my best to be there.
-
Can't make it, but good luck guys, hope it goes better than last night
PS and thanks for coming, it was fun anyway (in a respec kind of way at least)
-
A fellow player from our all-controller SG summarised the choices for Epics on our thread. It really depends what you think you are missing at the moment (attacks? status protection? better holds?). Hope this helps

[ QUOTE ]
Is that what went wrong last time thought it was u being a total n00b!
[/ QUOTE ]
Well Inspec, I think last time we were just too tired after helping that n00b who died 3 times trying to reach the reactor because of his lack of vertical movement -
Come on people... don't be shy... you know who you are
<ul type="square">[*]hovering tank with invisibility? [*]empath with 1 healing power and far too many blasts? [*]regen scrapper with only Fast Healing in your secondaries and 4 travel powers? [*]controller with no holds? [*]blaster with Challenge AND Provoke?[/list]You can still save your toon from total gimpness, come respec!
PS Hopefully not too many of those mentioned above will show up -
Would like to do this with my fire/kin controller (will be 28/29 by then). Min level = 24, max (for xp) = 33 (autoexemp for 34+). One hunt, one door mission, and protecting the reactor core in TV. Should take less than 2 hours if all goes well.
If interested, meet at contact in IP or post here with AT/lvl.

I only have a .pdf rulebook which shows the levels stop at 40. What sort of powers or extra slots can I expect after 40th?
[/ QUOTE ]
To find out more about Epic/ancillary power sets you can download a slightly more updated manual here. Warning: it's 82 Mb and not fully up-to-date (only up to I4). Online guides such as Red Tomax's, or just browsing the Forums are often a better source of information. -
Actually, that looks like a very reasonable build. I understand taking Concealment if you mostly tend to solo. I think you should consider Ice Patch though, it helps in many situations like blocking doorways, or placing it around corners when you pull mobs. I see you haven't taken Blizzard which I respecced out of after I6, so maybe Ice Patch is something to consider for your lvl 38 power (avoid Frozen Aura).
Regarding you slotting, I would suggest some small changes, but it's all up to individual playstyle:
- Ice Bolt: 2 acc 3 dmg
- Ice Blast and Bitter Ice Blast: 2 acc 3 dmg 1 rechg
- Frost Breath: 3 dmg 1 range 1 endred (or rechg)
- Stamina: only 3 endmod (use the 4th slot elsewhere)
- Hasten: 3 rechg
- Superspeed: only 1 runspeed
I would also suggest picking up Aim, since it gives you a nice accuracy boost as well as some extra damage in your attacks (slot 3 rechg).
And yes, you should try to team moreIt's lots of fun and you learn a lot from other players. Hopefully at your level, the really bad pick-up teams are more of an exception. Feel free to look me up in-game and I can gladly join you as a sidekick or exemp

Signing up, J
Guess Okton will be more useful here with PA, 3 holds and AM. -
[ QUOTE ]
Is it worth me getting Freezing Touch
[/ QUOTE ]
I would suggest taking it if you are willing to be in melee range quite often. If so, you should also consider (if you haven't done so already) taking some of the melee powers such as Ice Sword and/or Chilling Embrace (I assume you have Ice Patch, and would recommend Shiver which is also great). -
Thanks to all who were there along the way
[ QUOTE ]
So, who's next?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I have a pretty cool troller at 24, unless the urge to blast takes over -
A very minor point, but if you do go for psi epic (which in my opinion is the best if you want a defensive or PvP build), you should take Indomitable Will at 41 for the status protection, MoB at 44 for the psi-resistant shield and then Psi Tornado if you feel you need an attack (so Mental Blast last if you really really want another attack). This will help you with all the AVs (and mobs with psi damage) that you will be facing in your 40s.
