She'll be the one that flies off when she reaches around 30% health! Grrr.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Indeed

    [ QUOTE ]
the trollers will still be stacking holds on the AV and wiggling some slightly damaging powers at them

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sure, like Fulcrum Shifted Fireballs with containment, on a totally debuffed AV along with an army of pets
  2. Blaster-only teams are certainly among the most fun (nothing like jumping from nova to nova), but in terms of efficiency, I would also vote for an all-troller team. Try taking down Diabolique with only scrappers

    Repel & my build

What I did for my /kin was to take Air Superiority early (for an extra attack which is not bad with containment) and Fly at 14. Then I respecced at 28 into Inertial Reduction as my travel power, and dropped the 2 Flight powers. It all depends if you prefer the Leaping pool for the status protection. I agree that Siphon Speed is a bit dangerous to use as a travel power since you have to use it against higher level foes in some zones. I mainly use it for the rechg effects, and for some extra speed inside maps.

Does the conceal powerset actually increase your defence?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Not by much, but yes.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
    make a Storm/Lightning Defender

    [/ QUOTE ]
    What's a storm/lightning defender?
  6. [ QUOTE ]
not abandoned sewers, just the regular sewers

    [/ QUOTE ]

Erm... yes, that's the one Stage
  7. [ QUOTE ]
The lost bosses should be much easier than you think, as they are rife in Land of the Lost in Skyway, and the south end of King's Row

    [/ QUOTE ]
Abandoned sewers is also good, as well as Perez.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
    villains sux against trollers

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm... maybe time for a combined Rangers/Overlords team then
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Currently we have 2 chaplains (empath psi) and a librarian (mind/kin)

    [/ QUOTE ]

No matter how hard you try D, you won't get me to roll another troller... no way.... I mean it... erm... OK, maybe just this one

    Repel & my build

Don't know much about Grav, but will comment on some of the other powers.

If you definitely want Acrobatics, then skip Inertial Reduction (if you want to keep it, just 1 slot for Jump). Even for PvP purposes (i.e. unsuppressable movement), Combat Jumping (slot for Jump, not Def) will do the trick (in which case I would choose Hurdle instead of Health). Drop the endred on SJ. Drop the rechgs on SB and Acrobatics. Use those slots on Transference (2 acc 2 endmod 2 rechg). No point in adding a 4th slot in Stamina. I would go 1 acc 2 rechg on SSpeed and SPower, 2 acc if you really find you're missing a lot. Haven't tried Repel, so can't comment on that. Increase Density is a good buff for teaming, but it becomes a pain if you have to spam both ID and SB on large teams.

    Librarian (Mind/Psi or /empath)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Huh? you mean /kin, right? Or are you accepting dominators?

    Devidose Dings!

    Well done Devi! Mega-gratz

    which ancillary

It has a nice panic button (Hibernate) and some more AoE control with Ice Storm, although the shield is not great tbh. I'm surprised that you don't like any attacks powers: with containment, you should be able to hit pretty hard. But if you're really going for pure team, then Primal is probably the best (double hold duration, etc.) or Psi if you're feeling a bit squishy
  14. Okton

    which ancillary

If you want more defence, go psi: Indomitable Will gives you status protection, and Mind over Body is a good shield which includes resistance to psi damage. If you don't want to pick up more attacks, then skip the other 2. Primal would be useful mainly for Power Boost which means you have to pick up 2 other powers, a shield and either an attack or Conserve Power (which as a /kin you probably don't need). You might also consider Ice mastery as an option with Grav.
  15. Will try to join (although probably not at 8pm) with my troller or blaster.

Not so sure about the pink tank, but then having had to teleport his butt around the city for weeks now, that's understandable.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Think of it this way: you're probably the only shade who has a pink tank as a pet!
  17. Thanks to Stage for organising this. I guess we'll never really know what made the difference: Avoiding the catwalk? Having 4 trollers? Having 2 shades? Clicking on all the glowies? Having a pink tank? Having an empath who kept d/c-ing? Anyway, well done to all
  18. I would certainly suggest rad. As PRAF said, in low-level teams being an empath is a total pain. Rad will also be a bit frustrating at first since people will want to kill your debuff anchors first, but you will minimise the damage that your team is taking (and help them take down mobs), as opposed to healing them. And in the late game, there's no comparison, rad debuffs are great when you start facing AVs. I know you said you wanted a team build, but with ill/rad you can also quite comfortably solo if you ever feel like it.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
was wanting to change my secondaryfrom empathy to something else that dosent focus on heals

    [/ QUOTE ]
Although healing is arguably the main role of an empath, once you progress in levels, the buffs (Recovery/Regen Aura, Fort, CM, AB) become just as (if not more) important. And if you're still not sure, have you tried Force Field?
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Sorry FI got you and Gem mixed up.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Let me say that, at least from behind, they look quite different
  21. I've seen a lot of controllers, but I can't say I've seen an Ill/TA. Teaming is not exactly the same as "support". Any good controller will have a useful role to play in a team. If you really want to "support", then I would suggest taking /emp /FF or /sonic as secondaries. /kin is also very useful for teams but requires you to be more proactive. /rad also has a rez and a (small) heal, but it's really the buffs/debuffs which are great. /storm seems to be a good compromise between control/buffs/debuffs and great for PvP. From the few /TA I've seen, it seems to be a very control-oriented secondary, so it depends on what you're looking for. I'd say the primaries affect the level of "hard" vs "soft" control you have, as well as the amount (and type) of damage you can deal.
  22. Looks like we'll be able to have 2 teams if everyone shows up since Stage mentioned some of his SG peeps too

And I thought Gem was organising the 2nd respec tonight Clicky.
  23. This question is prompted by a discussion in another thread and I would be interested in hearing other people's opinions (never having myself played a tank beyond level 20). Do many tanks actually use the Concealment pool?

I can certainly think of specific situations (e.g. ghosting glowie mishes) where stealth might come in handy, but I'm rather dubious about tanks taking Grant Invisibility and/or Invisibility as powers. Is there just not something better out there somewhere? It just doesn't seem to help much with what I consider to be tanks' main strength, i.e. holding aggro and keeping the mobs off the rest of the team. And sure, some people might have it for concept reasons, but it just seems a bit of a waste really

    41 powerpool

    [ QUOTE ]
Primal is awesome for /rad because you can powerboost the effects of all your buffs/debuffs. Powerboosted AM is awesome, and powerboosted LR is even more crippling to the enemy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you sure about the debuffs? Here is a quote from Foxmaiden's great Fire control guide (bolds are mine): [http://foxmaiden.kitsunetsuki.com/pages/14/index.htm]

"Power Boost doubles the duration of your holds and other controls, and increases the "secondary effects" of your powers. In addition to all types of mez effects, [s]econdary effects include things like healing or regeneration, knockback, defense buffs, and flight or run speed, even when those effects are in fact the main purpose of the power. They do not, however, include damage buffs, resistance buffs, or most debuffs. Depending on your sets, it can be like being a small god for the duration of the Power Boost. Possibly the best reason to choose this epic pool."
