The main difference is that in PvP zones players have a 25% bonus to base defence. So people usually slot normal attacks with 2 accuracies and often run Tactics alongside to make sure they hit. Controller AoE holds which have an accuracy penalty would definitely need 3 accuracies and/or Tactics to hit reliably.

No, but since you will be facing higher-level foes, you'll probably need a couple of acc enhances.
I know FT is available before FA, that doesn't mean you have to take them in that orderI took FT at 38 on my blaster (and skipped FA). It also depends on how many powers you take from your Epics (not many people take all 4).

OK, don't say we didn't warn you. I would suggest taking Freezing Touch before Frozen Aura unless you plan to solo (and even then!). IMO a group sleep with low accuracy is not the most useful in high-level teams, but let's see what you think of it. Now if this were your controller...

As others said, /ice has some fairly average powers (who takes Frozen Fists except for detoggling in PvP?), but also some great ones: Ice sword is nice for blapping, Ice patch rocks, Shiver is very useful and stalkers will hate you for Chilling Embrace. Blaptrollers ftw!!!111!!! -

I haven't taken it on my Grav troller (and might skip it altogether), but do use Fire Cages a lot on my Fire troller. Remember that AoE holds have a high acc penalty, so they won't be holding much before you get SOs. And as was said before, group immobs are useful for setting up containment, if you can survive the aggro. -
Now if we get Jiaozy and Okton out there, Hasten + AM + SB + SS should give us perma-PA...

6 slot PAs as soon as you can (either 2 recharge, 1 acc and 2 dmg or 3 recharge and 3 dmg)...its the best power in illusion.

I would always recommend slotting 3 recharges in PA before damage or accuracy. I use mine 1 acc 2 dmg 3 rchg since their main task is really to hold aggro, more than to inflict damage.
Some secondaries have powers which also set up containment e.g. /rad's EM Pulse which is a hold or various knockdown/disorient powers.

Yep, if you really want SJ then skip it and go for CJ instead: any defence is good on a troller, the res(immob) is useful and the +jmp is helpful for getting around. I did take AS on my /kin troller to get Fly, but then dropped them both for Inertial Reduction at 28. Not great for low-level exemping, but it allowed me to take other more useful powers instead

True, but if you go /kin, you'll need to be there anyway and will have Transference after 35 (and probably Stamina before then).

True, but how often do you really need "quick, low-endurance burst damage on specific targets"? If you're soloing, you should be able to handle the entire room. In large groups, it will get aggroed anyway.
And back to the OP, if I had to choose a single primary (regardless of secondary), I'd say Illusion too, being the most versatile set (albeit not the most control, not the most damage, and no flying pool tables).

If I'm running Hot Feet and Leadership toggles? I doubt it... Even with Stamina, I find I need to use Transference more often than I would like to. -
I'd say Illusion has a big advantage for soloing in the mid-game because it gets Phantom Army at 18.
