    01) Char -Acc - Acc - Hold - Hold - Rechg - Rechg
    01) Radiant Aura -Heal - Heal - Heal try to add 1-2 Rechg if you can
    02) Radiation Infection -TH_DeBuf - TH_DeBuf - TH_DeBuf try to add 1-2 Def_Debuf and 1 EndRdx
    04) Fire Cages -Acc - Acc - Immob - Immob - Immob - Rechg I would slot 2 Acc 1 EndRdx just to set up Containment
    06) Accelerate Metabolism -EndMod - EndMod - EndMod - Rechg - Rechg - Rechg
    08) Hot Feet -Acc - Acc - Dmg - Dmg Slot 3 Dmg 2 EndRdx 1 Acc

    12) Hover -Fly
    14) Fly -Fly - Fly - Fly
    16) Mutation -Rechg - Rechg - Rechg wouldn't bother with more than 1 Rechg unless you're in a team full of Fire blasters
    18) Flashfire -Acc - Acc - DisDur - DisDur - Rechg - Rechg

    30) Choking Cloud -EndRdx - EndRdx - Hold - Hold - Rechg - Rechg don't really like this power much because of its low accuracy, but if you take it, slot 3 EndRdx, 3 Hold
    32) Fire Imps -Acc - Dmg - Dmg - Dmg - Rechg - Rechg I would slot 2 Acc and drop the Recharges
    35) Hasten -Rechg - Rechg - Rechg
    38) EM Pulse -Acc - EndMod - EndMod - Hold - Hold - Rechg needs 2 Acc and preferably 2-3 Rechgs. EndMods is nice if you're teaming with someone else who can drain endurance (and/or block recovery), otherwise, stick to Holds
    41) Hibernate -Rechg - Rechg - EndMod - EndMod - Heal - Heal slot 3 Rech 1 Heal, that's enough for PvE really
    44) Frozen Armor -DefBuf - DefBuf - DefBuf needs 1-2 EndRdx
    47) Ice Storm -Rechg - Rechg slot 3 Dmg 3 Rechg
    49) Ice Blast -Acc - Acc not that useful at 49, would just use 1 Acc if you really want it and slot up Ice Storm
    Any advice/comments are appreciated

according to my hero planner Hasten and AM should make it recharge as quickly as Fireball

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not if you use Hasten and AM with Fire Ball . In any case, you will only have Ice Storm fully slotted at level 50, so the main point is: do you prefer more damage per second until level 50? (then stick with Fire) or do you prefer a panic button? (then switch to Ice)
  3. [ QUOTE ]
you can slot ice storm for recharge instead of damage since it's auto hit.

    3 damage 3 recharge

    [/ QUOTE ]
I assume you mean accuracy, right? Sure, that would be the standard slotting, but even with only 1 rchg in FB, it still recharges in about half the time of IS. As I said before, I would suggest that the OP stick to Fire for now not to waste a respec then at 47 test IS and see if he prefers it.

    [ QUOTE ]

Ice Storm - huge AoE power (have to target the ground to execute), Auto-hit in both PvE and PvP, some ppl will say that the damage is low but they usually only look at one foe at a time, being such a large AoE it does good damage and even if the enemie wasnt in the AoE when you pulled it off it will hit them if they enter the area. (Great as a way to unbalance the Regen of EB's/AV's)

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah I was thinking since controllers get Containment wouldn't the Ice Storm do more damamage any ways and in larger range than Fireball?
For example; Fire Cages + Ice Storm + Containment + Fire Imps = Moderate AoE Dots?

    [/ QUOTE ]
It does now that Ice Storm gets Containment damage. But it's recharge is almost 4 times that of Fire Ball, and it's DoT, while FB is mostly up-front.
  5. Personally I would wait a bit and respec at 47 once you've tried out the other powers. As Archn00b said, both are great, but quite different: Fire is a much more aggressive set and I would probably take both blasts and the shield (Consume only if you have endurance problems). Ice is more defensive: Hibernate is great and although Ice Storm does some very nice damage, you can't really use it in the same way as Fire Ball (which is very good - even in its nerfed state - as soon as you hit 42). The shield is also very nice but I would probably skip Ice Blast from the set.

    Grav/Sonic KB?

I never tried the combo on my grav/sonic, but given Sing's AI, unless you use Recall Friend to place him every time, I'm not sure this will work very well. And even if you put him next to bosses, it seems like it will be "situational" to say the least.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
it was cryo kid who was afk dead under hami for the union raid wasn't it. lazy leecher

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Cryo Kid = Mes
  8. For MMs, he needs 3 Rchgs to be perma, so I would (will, in 2.5 levels ) slot him 3 Rchg 3 Tht_Debf.
  9. I recently started my 1st brute (lvl 19 atm) and I'm really enjoying him. I went for the same idea of a Stamina-less DM/Elec build and I will see once I get SOs whether it's really feasible. Endurance has been a major issue even with DO EndRdxs and not running more than 2 toggles at once. Dark Consumption helps a lot, but I need to see whether it will be enough (with Hasten + Lightning Reflexes) to get me to Conserve Power without too much of a sacrifice (and whether CP will make much of a difference). I'm pretty sure you can go Stamina-less after Power Sink, but it's a long, long road to get there. My build looks similar to yours except for Lightning Field which I took (too?) early and I plan to take Boxing/Tough/Weave and maybe Soul Tentacles in the 40s. Since it's my first brute, I'll let the experts comment on power choices and slotting.
  10. Indeed. Also why Sing is such a great pet
  11. You will see damage figures appearing twice when you have Containment (or just check on the combat log).

    Noxious Gas: (City of Data)

1000 Held to Target for 4 seconds (0% chance) if (target = critter)
(Human and target.HasTag?) [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs] [Non-resistable]

the 0% chance seems a bit odd.

    [/ QUOTE ]
As explained here it is actually 0.2%.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
course there will be, for anyone who respeced out their hold for some random reason, wouldn't be the first time i've seen it.

    Trollers without a hold don't deserve a Hami-O

    Carni go bye bye

    aaaawwwwww

Don't think we've ever teamed (I'm on the "sensible" server ), but will certainly miss your posts.

    Best of luck!

PS Oh and I mostly play Controllers since it's the only way to keep some sanity with my own babyfaxes running around like mad Fire Imps
  15. The defence is tiny and not worth slotting, so use 3 DmgRes and 1-2 EndRdx
  16. [ QUOTE ]
I would have though Ill/Rad might be hard work, what with all that knockback dispersing your rad debuffs.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Trust me, it's really not. One of the easiest combos to solo in the whole game.
  17. Of all the combos I've played, grav/sonic was certainly the most underwhelming, especially when trying to solo, and mainly due to the secondary. The synergy between sets is not great since you can't really use Disruption Field on your Singularity (because of its inherent repel), and it doesn't need the sonic shields as much as other pets. It is a decent combo for teams (especially when there's a 2nd sonic) with some good powers (like Sonic Dispersion), but I found that Clarity came waaaay too late (35) and Liquefy is quite rubbish (at least for controllers). It does have some nifty tricks for PvP (like 2 phasing powers), but overall, a bit of a disappointment tbh. I guess Earth/ or Ice/ would have been even more frustrating with /sonic for soloing given their lack of single-target attacks.

Better than ever! And just an FYI people, Ice storm was not nerfed IIRC, and should still be awesome.

[/ QUOTE ]It's a pet, so it shouldn't be affected by containment.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Wrong. From the patch notes:

    [ QUOTE ]
Ice Mastery/Ice Storm: Removed unresistible PvP damage and added Containment.

    A little help?

    [ QUOTE ]
I was wondering if there are any particularly effective slotting styles? I'm probably going to be using it for a combination of damage and back-up holds wise... AFAIK it isn't worth slotting Rech but what about Acc?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Its accuracy is quite high, but I still like to have one Acc enhance in it (for fighting higher levels) along with 3 Dmg and 2 Holds. Recharges aren't really needed since it's quite resilient, so basically perma until you zone (or unless you use it to "tank" AVs).

    [ QUOTE ]
I did have this and specced it out, as it seemed to drain a lot of end and didn't seem to hold that reliably. May have to try it again though...

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm actually not a fan of Choking Cloud for most controller builds because of the high end cost and low accuracy. I also respecced it out on my ill/rad but I just meant that Fallout really isn't that great, so almost anything is better (even Lift, for the damage and knockup). You need a dead team-mate to use it, so it can't really be used as part of an attack chain (well, hopefully! ).

    [ QUOTE ]
I also specced into Wormhole and although the recharge is a bit long it does seem like it would be very useful in large teams (only solo'ed over christmas, as I haven't been on much).

    [/ QUOTE ]
Careful with Wormhole and large teams: if people don't know what they're doing, they will not be happy when a whole mob disappears and reappears somewhere else. Just make sure to tell your team-mates what you're doing. And it's a great tool for soloing if you use it with Crushing Field. With 2 recharges and Hasten it should come back up fairly quickly.

And Health is OKish for trollers if you have no heal, but that's not the case with rad, so I wouldn't bother (although it does provides a small resistance to sleep).

    Enjoy!
  20. The main advantage of Fire/Dark is that you get great powers early on which help mitigate the huge aggro that your AoEs will draw (Tar Patch + Rain of Fire + Fireball + Fire Breath ftw!). But as Syn says, after Transference and Fulcrum, Fire/Kin will be a damage monster. So I guess it really depends on your playstyle and how patient you are .

    beki dings 50

    Gratz! Well done again!
  22. Should be there with Okton (ill/rad).

    A little help?

Here's what I'd do with those power choices (although I would skip Health and Fallout).

    - Crush does decent damage (more than epic blasts nowadays). No point in slotting immobs really.
    - Radiant Aura: not the best heal, but you will need it, so might as well slot it (might even add an EndRdx at some point)
    - Propel: nice damage but very long animation which makes it not-so-useful in higher levels unless you solo.
    - Crushing Field: mainly for Containment and to use with Wormhole. Doesn't really need that many slots.
    - Rad Infection: make sure to slot 3 ThT_Debuff. 1-2 Def_Debuf is nice, but not crucial for PvE.
    - Wormhole: can play a bit with Recharges, Disorients and even Range based on playstyle.
    - En Field: heavy end draining toggle. Needs at least 2 EndRdx.
    - Lingering Rad: slows only affect movement (not recharge), so slot Rechgs instead.
    - Sing: I assume the slotting is a typo!
    - Fallout: don't really like the power. You might get more out of Choking Cloud if you can fit it earlier in your build and 6-slot (3 hold 3 EndRdx).

    Hope some of this helps!
  24. It is definitely usable in PvP .
