  4. Have only played Fire/Dark to a reasonable level (post-32), but definitely one of my favourite toons for the fun of Herd N' Burn™ .

    Also have a lowbie sonic/cold which I might stick with, and a dark/cold. Both seem good PVP material.

    Would play a /kin again if I wasn't over-kineticized atm...

    I chose kin and the synergy is quite good (like SBing the slowest pet around ), but out of the that 3 you mention, I would probably choose Storm for a good team support character which can also solo a bit. I haven't played TA high enough to judge, but the synergy is not that great with Sonic, unless you want a seriously team-based build, with little soloability. Earth (not Stone ) is probably the most "hard control" focused primary (with the consequent lack of damage). In addition to tons of control, Storm brings 2 powerful attacks (Tornado and Lightning Storm), even if they come a little late (35 and 38). In addition, you have the tools to use them properly solo because of the -kback of your immobs. Sonic is a good set, but needs team-mates to shine (+res shields), and team-mates which do damage (for the -res debuffs). Your pet doesn't really need the shields since he's quite resistant to begin with, and it will be hard to use Sonic Disruption on him effectively since you have to drag him to get in melee.

    So although my personal preference would be /kin or /rad, /storm would be my next choice.

  12. Hi Unthing.

    Basically what others have said: at low levels, I did pick up one of the attacks (Pistols I think, didn't try Empty Clips). It helped a little, but I found that after a few levels, my henches were doing much more damage than me, so I focussed on my secondary (and getting Stamina). In the mid-30s I just dropped the blast and respecced into Leadership (Assault, Tactics, Vengeance) and I don't regret it (there's always some squishy dom/corr around on the team to help with Vengeance, yes you know who you are... ). You can certainly get by without them, but as other said, they stack with the Enforcers' toggles (and Supremacy), so it all adds up. I did have to sacrifice the rez and Petrifying Gaze, but might grab them as my last 2 powers (44 atm).

    Some comments:

    - This is mainly a PvE build, but should work OK in PvP. I have focussed on the single-target blasts and as Wyxie said, you don't need more than 3-4 attacks for a decent chain (unless you want a full "offender")
    - I like to have a bit of extra control, so plan to take both the sleep and stun, which should help when soloing (might take Howl instead if I feel I need a cone attack).
    - Concerning slotting, I would focus on the Tht_Debuf in RI and afterwards on the Def_Debuf. For LR, the slow enhances only affect movement (not recharge), so I find 1 is more than enough. For EF, 2 EndRdx should be enough with Stamina and AM.
    - The +def in Maneuvers is tiny, so most people take Assault instead (unless you can stack with other +def). For Vengeance, the main use is +def, so only slot the other effects if you have spare slots.
    - PBU: recharges are the most important so it's up frequently. With RI and Tactics, you probably don't need more Tht_Buf for PvE.
    - Nukes are often skippable for defenders, but the sonic one has a nice stun, so I'm also planning to take it. It's probably not worth it if you can't fit it in earlier and slot it.
    - EM Pulse, mainly used as an AoE hold (and a very good one it is). The EndMod can work against some foes (or in PvP), but the usual slotting is acc/hold/rechg.
    - As Toxic Torch said, no need for 4 of the same enhancement in a power with ED (Stamina, Maneuvers).

    I certainly think you will need Stamina, even with EndRdx slotting on many powers and 6-slotted AM. Unless you have a freespec, the only choice really is whether to get it at 24 or at 26 (and I would suggest 24, even if you have to move Blaze back a bit). If you do have a freespec, I would drop Flares and Rain of Fire to get the Stamina pre-requisites instead (I prefer Swift/Hurdle on squishies, especially if they have a heal, but Health is OK too). RoF is great if you have a way of keeping mobs tightly packed (I use it on top of Tar Patch with my fire/dark), but otherwise, not worth it. Flares is just bad compared to your other attacks.

    Concerning slotting, I would suggest slotting Rad Infection with 3 Tht_Debuf first, then 1-2 Def_Debuf and 1 EndRdx (in that order).

    So my build to 27 would probably look something like this:

    That won't really work unless you have someone buffing you (e.g. other /rads or a kin). Once you start using the rad toggles, you will be eating through endurance. The +recov from AM is rather small and even with Hasten, you won't be anywhere near perma AM without outside buffs. So I would still suggest getting Stamina .

    It's an accuracy penalty (20%) which is really not that bad if you slot 2 Acc in it (and maybe pop a yellow). Given the recharge time on AoE holds I wouldn't take Leadership just to help with this but as Phil said, PBed Vengeance ftw!
