Honestly, I didn't know about that temp power! However, if I should take that (by what mission, btw? would I take it also if I was exempled, in case I outleveled it?), I'd have 3 slots that I would need to substitute with defensive powers... in order to keep the enhancement sets I placed in Inv and Stealth. What would be your suggestion ? Pick the fighting pool? or the tactics? Would the tactics pool allow for KB protection enhancements?

    [/ QUOTE ]
It's a patrol mission in Warburg and you can do it at any level (as long as you can get into WB). You can slot -kback IOs in powers which take defense (Karma) or resistance (Steadfast Protection) sets. So you can already slot them in your shield or Increase Density. Otherwise, you can go for something like Maneuvers (then Tactics if you want), Hover (nice with Siphon Speed) or Grant Invis.
  2. Vengeance: as many DefBufs as you can afford, preferably 3 (or 3 Membranes if you can use HOs).

Fallout: respec out (or Acc/Dmg if you reeeally want it).

But I was thinking to get thunder clap back in because aoe disorient is also handy for mm and stuff
    Well please post more... :-D

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actually, 2 powers which are very handy vs MMs are Wormhole and Crushing Field (especially vs melee henches). I would drop the Presence Pool to get them both. You certainly want Hasten anyway. I'm not sure how good Dimension Shift is anymore in PvP since I dropped it a long time ago on my grav/sonic, you might want to test it first.
  4. I agree with most of what Arika said except I would recommend getting Darkest Night asap. It's quite end hungry, but it's your main debuff for a while (along with Tar Patch) which allows you to play the "herd and burn" game of fire/dark early on. It's really a very nice PvE combo which blooms very early, although you won't reach the damage of a fire/kin in the late game when soloing. My fire/dark is one bar from 40, and the powers I skipped were Flares and Blazing Bolt from the primary and Black Hole from the secondary. Definitely take the fire attacks quickly (especially the AoEs) as well as Darkest Night, Tar Patch, Fearsome Stare and Shadow Fall and Aim somewhere in the 20s. Howlight Twilight is nice to have, but can wait until later, and likewise for Petrifying Gaze. I went for Hasten/SS which allows me to ghost and is very nice for herding large maps with DN. I guess CJ/SJ would work well too. For -kback I slotted an IO in Shadow Fall. Endurance can be a bit of a problem so I would certainly recommend getting Stamina. I now have quite a bit of +recov from IO bonuses, but still run a bit low sometimes so I even plan to take Mu Mastery for Power Sink. I found the mid-30s a bit tricky since you often end up generating more aggro than you can handle, but once you get Dark Servant and slot him for Tht_Debuf, things become safer again.

Hope some of this helps and enjoy!

Endurance reduction was important to this build as i have often found myself on the run due to eating through my blue bar far too quickly.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Then why only one slot in Stamina? You can easily move some slots from Health or elsewhere to 3-slot it. That would help more than a 2nd EndRdx in some powers.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Oh, so that was you yesterday :-), it was very fun to team with you

    It was indeed!

Concerning Conserve Power instead of power boost: I have red that power boost has problems with Kinetics sets, that it doesn't always works good: that's why I thought about leaving it last.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think you're referring to what Wyxie mentioned which is the fact that there seems to be some bug with PB(U) and Transfusion (which itself seems bugged anyway, since my Heal numbers fluctuate every time I use it ), but afaik it doesn't affect Transference (although I could be wrong since neither of my /kin trollers use Primal Mastery, i.e. Power Boost). It should in any case work with the other secondary effects such as sleep, stun, movement speed, ToHit, defense, etc. In any case, it doesn't matter since you've planned to take it anyway, but if you do respec before 49, you should consider swapping it with Conserve Power (if you even want CP).

    Edit: damn you're fast Wyxie!

Superior because of its stealth radius.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. It's just a better version of Invis - not sure how it compares to Hide with radius.

    [/ QUOTE ]
In theory it's higher than Hide, but stalkers have a higher stealth cap, so it's effectively capped for controllers at about the same level as Hide.

Superior because of its stealth radius.
  9. For PvE, the stealth IO in IR is enough against most foes, but of course if you want to phase (for concept or whatever), then go ahead with Invis.

I wanted to ask since we teamed briefly yesterday (I was on my kin/elec Dynamo Boy, double Fulcrum ftw!), why did you take Conserve Power at 41 instead of PBU? A Power Boosted Transference solves any end problems in PvE (unless you miss of course), even without Stamina (and you can also have some +recov from IOs). I also use -kback IOs in my kins and find it's enough, at least for PvE. And Wyxie is spot-on (no surprise...), +rechg and +acc are what you want from IO bonuses.
  10. Might want to read my reply more carefully.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    why avoid empathy?

    [/ QUOTE ]
It's a bit of a waste when soloing (meaning you could get a lot more out of other secondaries) and in many cases it will be hard to take all the powers you want given what you need from your primary/pools. So unless you PvP, I agree with PRAF.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah its a waste buffing your phantasm with AB and Fort and yourself with Recovery and regen aura....

    [/ QUOTE ]
In bold what I mean. And I stand by it, when soloing you will get more out of rad/TA/storm debuffs, Fulcrum, etc. Try it .
    [ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately some people think that empathy is only good for heals apparently. It has some of the most powerful buffs in the game

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not me, hence my point about "it will be hard to take all the powers you want" (from your secondary).

Fire/son. Very yummie on paper, now if they just ffs fix oilslick after 1,5 year of us asking and asking so it doesn't render your nice little gimps near useless.

Did I miss something or since when does Sonic have Oil Slick? n00b...

And Sonic is not the best for soloing. Really.
  13. And as many have pointed out, a combination of (set) IOs/HOs can also be very effective. For example in Blind (with lvl 50 enhances):

    2 Dmg/Mez
    Essence of Curare Acc/Hold/Rechg
    GWE Acc/Hold/Rechg
    Devastation Acc/Dmg/Rechg
    Devastation Acc/Dmg/EndRdx/Rechg

    Gives you Acc 81%, Hold 96%, Dmg 96%, Rechg 81%, EndRdx 19% Sleep 67% in addition to 12% +regen.

If you don't mind slightly lower acc and rechg (or have some +rechg and +acc from other powers or set bonuses), you can even swap the last one for the Hold proc for an "uber-hold" with damage.
  14. 20% is the chance of the proc to trigger each time you activate the power, not the % of extra damage. But yes, it should work fine (the extra damage will show up visually as well as in your Combat log). I prefer using the Devastation chance for Hold proc in Blind which gives an additional Mag 2 hold 15% of the time (in addition to the 20% chance of a critical). This means that if you hit, you have almost one chance in 3 of holding a boss in one shot.
  15. Here are some tips, trying to stay in line with how you want to play your troller (PvE, team support).

Concerning pool powers, I would skip Medecine. Your heal is not the best but it's OK fully slotted (and it's AoE). You would get more out of Leadership (either Assault for +dmg or Maneuvers for a bit of +def, and useful for IO set slotting, then Tactics, and preferably Vengeance too). Otherwise, Leaping would give you more mobility and some kback protection in Acro (which you can also get from IOs now). Recall Friend can be handy if you're taking Mutation, but I wouldn't bother with TP.

Concerning power slotting, some suggestions (using SOs):

    - Crush: 2 Acc. Damage is actually not that bad, although the Immob can be more useful vs AVs.
    - Radiant Aura: at least slot the 3 Heals and if possible 1-2 Rechgs.
    - Rad Infection: make sure you have 3 Tht_Debufs. Much more important than EndRdx.
    - Crushing Field: 2 Acc 1 EndRdx is all it needs.
    - Hurdle: why the 3 jumps? Only worth it for PvP.
    - GDF: 2 Acc 2 Hold 2 Rechg. As an AoE it has a huge Acc penalty.
    - Health: better now because of IOs, still not worth 3 slots for a squishy imo.
    - Wormhole: try to fit in a Range enhance, makes a big difference.
    - Sing: can be slotted in many different ways. With SOs, I would do 1 Acc 3 Dmg 2 Holds. Even if you don't want a damage build, it has 2 attacks which do damage (Lift and Crush), so it will spam them more often than the hold. I guess Immob is also useful vs AVs (tip: slot Sing with HOs later on).
    - EM Pulse: also needs 2 Acc. The EndMod is only worth it if you have Power Boost or someone on your team with -recov powers. Usual slotting is 2 Acc 2 Hold 2 Rechg.
    - Epics: I'm not sure Ice has the best synergy with your sets, but if you really want it, skip the silly blast and take Hibernate. The +res in the shield is only against Cold, so not worth enhancing. 1-2 EndRdx and 3 Def_Buf is all you need. For Ice Storm, slot 3 Dmg 3 Rechg, not worth enhancing Slows but you want it up as much as possible. If you really don't want a damage build, you might consider Primal Mastery which gives you Power Boost which would work very well will many of your powers (holds, immobs, slows, heal, def, etc.), but it depends on your playstyle.
    - Lingering Rad: get it asap. Major power for the AV fights in the 40s (even after nerf). Slot 2 Acc 3 Rechg.

    Hope some of this helps!
  16. Before HOs I had 3 Tht_Debuf 2 Rechg 1 Acc on my MM (MMs need 2-3 Rechg to make it perma, depending on whether you have Hasten) and currently 3 Tht_Debuf 1 Acc on my lvl 39 corr. I'm also not a big fan of slotting Heals, I just see that as a plus when it happens. On the other hand, I find slotting Immob quite handy. Endos are nice for this since you get Acc/Immob/Hold all in one enhance.

    Rad/Elec

The endurance gained in the elec attacks is barely noticeable, so don't count on it to replace Stamina.

Sorry Carnifax, but Earth/Kin isn't better for solo? I was thinking about making one for soloing but if it is a team friendly build i can change to grav/kin or grav/ta.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Carni is right (as usual ). Although you can certainly solo an earth/kin, the damage is very weak until your Epics basically (Mr Poo helps a bit with tanking, but still not much). It's great for teaming though.
  23. Let's see:

    - kin/elec: nice synergy for draining endurance while blocking recovery, handy hold.
    - kin/nrg: lots of annoying knockback pushing back your Transfusion/Transference targets.

    Guess which one I play

    and what about ice/ice and fire/dark ?

Dark is very fun to play but is it real good in pvp (against radiation emission) ?

I play a Fire/Dark: it's great for PvE (especially in lower/mid levels), but neither set is the best for PvP imo.
