  1. Having been here, for, well as long as we have (read: from time immemorial), we have a certain historical perspective that leads us to believe that none of your floated possibilities are probable. Nothing is impossible, but some things are highly improbable. Well, except for the not knowing bit. Then again, that was probably a cut-n-paste passed on by the devs.
  2. Nah, protests don't accomplish much. Besides, my current */Dev is something of a protest as it is. Granted, a decidedly subtle one that will, no doubt, accomplish even less. But I'll fix those damned windmills. They won't even know I'm tilting at them. Ha!
  3. Wow, Domination got status protection and now it builds faster. Pretty nice. I mean, as far as inherents go I always said "Hooray for inherents that don't suck!" after using it. And this was before the status protection.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
I'm gonna copy and paste my comment from the other thread:

About "Gadgets" it may be thats what devices is called in the pigg files, and thats why they said gadgets instead of devices.. Powersets in the .piggs sometimes have different names then are used in the game.

Or so my un-named sources tell me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seeing as we don't play with the names of .pigg files, nor do we have unnamed sources to act as decoder rings, I'm gonna go with "they don't know the AT or the game we play".
  5. For crap's sake. It's been how stinking long since launch? Certainly I wasn't the first person to figure out you could 'port AT around. Even if I was, that was a long time ago (pre-I3) and I'd been mentioning that it was possible ever since. So have lots of other folks. Why the change? Why the change now? Stupid work. Someone with AT and RF (or a buddy with RF) head over to Test and see if this is the change that took place please.
  6. Got canned before beta IIRC. And it was an Origin, not an AT. Besides, that was how ago? Hell, even the decidedly outdated manual has the name of the freakin' powerset correct. It's not like it should be that bloody hard to fact-check.
  7. I8 Test Server Notes:
    [ QUOTE ]
    • Many objects in the game which were meant to be immune to Teleportation have been made so. This affects several powers in the Traps Secondary and Gadgets secondary for players.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Emphasis added.

Last time I checked, there is no Gadgets secondary. There is, however, one called Devices. Freudian slips like this and folks wonder why some hold the belief that the devs don't seem to know the Blaster AT all that much.
  8. It's best for vertical leaps, but you can use it horizontally. The trick I've found is to feather the controls. While moving forward work the spacebar, giving it bursts of thrust, to keep your relative elevation. This way, most of your movement is horizontal while your elevation remains pretty much the same.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Of course .. the Jump JEt renders that trick UTTERLY unneccessary. Yayy. ^_^

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not entirely, what with the recharge time and all, but it's still nice to have.
  10. The recharge time is a bit of a PITA, but it's serviceable. I use it for those few times when I can't get around with Hurdle+Slotted-CJ. Or if I hopped into a pack of Crey in FF or the like and need to GOoD. Sort of a "better to have and not need than need and not have" kind of thing.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Ohms! Are you in here man!? I can't sift through all this.....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry man. Been too busy. You have any idea how hard it is to get these tuxedo-clad koalas choreographed? Don't even get me started on how difficult it was getting the darn tuxs fitted in the first place.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
I was referring to indomitable will for Trollers for the mez resistance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And that gives Blaster mez resistance exactly how?
  13. Thread-Skipper Activated....

    [ QUOTE ]
So yes they will be able to crit from hide after a BU but we still have BU and AIM.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Let's see, Stalkers have Build UP (a major damage booster) and the Hide crit (a major damage booster) and Blaster get Build Up (a major damage booster) and Aim (a major accuracy booster).

    Uhm.... yeah.... this seems fair.

Do we even need to mention Stalkers have status protection while Blasters have [censored]? Do we even need to mention that Stalkers have a decent defensive capacity in addition to their status protection while Blasters have jack to go with their [censored]?

Seems to me, the answer would be yes and no. Actually, the answer would be "[censored]-the-hell yes we need to point this out" and "why the [censored] even bother pointing it out".
  14. Outstanding!

(And to those who said I was imagining this problem, or simply didn't know what I was doing... Ha!)

*"The Deal" is the original concept that if you want to deal damage, your ability to withstand incoming damage is reduced and vice versa. The better you do the one, the less you are able to do the other.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    What about Brutes? Or Dominators?

Brutes have both. Doms have neither.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Deal was tossed out the window long before there were Brutes or Doms. And it's nothing to do with having "both". It's a sliding scale, the more offensive capacity you have, the less defensive you have and vice versa. Risk vs Reward. You take the greater risk (lower defensive capacity) you get the greater reward (higher offensive capacity). When the devs boosted Scrapper offensive capacity, capping out at 500% while Blasters, the "Offensive Juggernauts" capped at 400%, things went all to hell, and the devs have been trying to fix the mess ever since.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
No. Scrappers have gotten nerfed mercilessly (At first at the insistence of Tankers), have never gotten a new powerset and have the least number of power pools.

A lot of people play Scrappers because they are easy to solo and are fun. But it's not on account of dev love.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Uhm, no. The devs tossed "the deal"* out the window for Scrappers. They've been trying to undo this [censored] up ever since. Hence, the "merciless nerfing".

Ya know... I think Trick Arrow was designed to be a Controller Secondary.....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, 'cause it would match up so well with the Controller's arrow-based primary powerset. Uhm... yeah. TA is Devices-on-a-stick plain and simple. It never should've been a Defender primary. Defenders should've gotten Sonics, Blasters Archery, and Controller, Scrappers and Tankers unique primary and secondaries of their own.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Castle has stated that he thinks aid self is too good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Too good? Huh?

    [ QUOTE ]
If any of you have ever seen a movie called "Hawk, the Slayer" you'll remember how absolutely silly the archer in that looked.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The worst offending clip is where they had the actor jumping over a fallen tree while shooting his bow and repeated it over and over, and then spliced together several takes to try and make it look like he was jumping over the log while firing the bow lots of times. And it looks worse than it sounds.

The obvious reference point these days is Green Arrow in the recent JLU cartoon. And he ain't exactly quick on the draw.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I do this all the time with my Archer. Hurdle+Combat Jumping all over the place. Thematically, having the zen-like focus to be flipping all over the place while loosing arrow after arrow is slicker than all get out. Is it something you'd see out of a normal archer character? Nope. Then again, since most folks can't fly or fire bolts of raw energy out of their hands, I think exceptions can be made.

I sort of wonder if Cryptic isn't hyper sensitive about doing anything with Blasters due to the preception that "fixing" Blasters will lead to (and this is still a misperception) a new "City of Blasters"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yupper. And since the perceptions and pantybunchitation of non-Blasters is far more important than actually addressing actual issues I don't expect much to change.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Pfft, _Castle is the stalker rep. He'd bend over backwards and walk through hell and back for them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I, of all people, can respect that. Too bad there isn't that type of person that dedicated to Blasters in the Cryptic team. Hell, I'd take one that mildly gives a [censored] about the AT.
