GL out there sir, wherever your endeavors take you

    Translucency

I could go for translucency, but there would have to be some sort of threshold to ensure it wasn't abused for PvP purposes, I would wager.

Another problem could be costume bits. NPCs are built around one costume, which is basically their skin. On player characters, costume bits are layered on top of other bits. If you think that skirts disappearing when underwater is an issue, imagine a translucent skirt showing your translucent netherregions :/

This finally admits they don't care about anything but the majority audience.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When the majority pays the bills, the definition of integrity changes :P

    Yes, it's called "selling out"

Don't we have loincloths from one of the holiday events?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Negative, because if we did I'd be using them already.

And yes, I agree. Barbarians, Jay! Wink wink!

    Sci-Fi -vs- SyFy

    [ QUOTE ]
    When was SyFy created?

    What is it?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not sure about the veracity, but one of my friends mentioned that "Sci-Fi" can't be trademarked. But SyFy can be. Seems like they want something more marketable.

    /dramaticvoice But at what cost?!?

If IOs are not fluff, what happened to the whole "You only need SOs argument?"

By claiming that IOs are not fluff, we are thereby admitting that this game has gone beyond "SOs are all you need" and that the power curve is now higher than what a normal 8 toon SO'ed team can achieve.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That's a fallacy. Enemies are still designed with SO'd characters in mind. However, selling items via microtransactions that have palpable advantages, such as increasing stats, is much more of a slippery slope than selling costume pieces, emotes, or even respecs.

Some players argue that the current Super Booster packs are turning the game into a Korean-style game that relies on microtransactions. Currently, I believe this is a fallacy. However, your suggestion would certainly make this assertion more true.

Additionally, players looking to use the in-game economy would be at a severe disadvantage, since in-game prices would greatly increase due to a lowered supply as players simply buy IOs with RL money instead of relying on the market.

    In summary, /No.
  8. I finished Lord Recluse with the help of Detonator once. Took out all his little Bane Spiders. True story. Would never consider taking it out of my build.
  9. Thanks for posting yet another thread on this subject

I'm still kind of confused why heroes are launching the missile though. Unless it's assumed that we are launching an payload-less missle into the sea where it will only cause a small ecological disaster instead of the huge catastrophe it would cause if the villains launched it into Paragon City with its payload intact.

[/ QUOTE ]Heroes are launching the warheads into space, where they can later call them down on their desired target... generally always in Paragon City.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Or Ancient Cimerora... still trying to figure that out...
  11. Besides, isn't there a difference between a personal soft cap and the absolute hard cap obtainable with external buffs? IOs won't allow one to reach the hard cap, only the personal soft cap.
  12. I have no recollection of such events >.>

You really just can't help but insult people can you?

"often goes above people's heads" Seriously dude, you are not that witty, and nothing you did or said was satire. Just get over yourself.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well, I never claimed to be witty. I just claimed to be a working man, who admittedly reads to forums from his work desk. Yes, I'm just a sad sordid excuse for an individual. To get it out of the way, I'm probably a troll and fanboy too, a hoser, scoundrel, ne're-do-well, and perhaps a pseudo-intellectual.

    [ QUOTE ]
And as for the unemployed part, that was not putting words into your post but in reference to being independently wealthy, which by definition means not working, thus unemployed.

    [/ QUOTE ]
On the contrary - if I won the lottery I would be a full-time student. Arguably, that in itself could be like a full-time job, depending on how many course I'd take. But I digress.

    [ QUOTE ]
And if a customer isn't happy with something no matter how large or small it may seem. The Customer should say something about it or else it may go unnoticed.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I completely agree, and also already admitted to a bit of heavy-handedness in my response, mixed with bad humor.

Yikes, I've done a fine job of derailing this thread

As for going bowling or watching a movie, not always an option when you have not planned for it

    [/ QUOTE ]
You can't just pop in a DVD or something? Or write an email to a loved one? I mean, there's so much more to do than waiting for a server to come back online. I've never needed salve for that.

After all, Life is what happens when you are making other plans, yes?

If you've been offended at my satire, I apologize. My humor isn't for everyone, and often goes above peoples' heads. It's not so much a complaint as much as pointing out the silliness in what is, IMHO, a triviality given other opportunities and variables.

Besides, when did I mention the unemployed? Now you're just putting words in my posts

(I do seriously want to be a full-time student, but can't afford to do so.)
  15. Good to hear he's back in one piece

And, you know, not everyone has a job working 9-5 Monday through Friday... some work evenings and nights and such... get over yourself.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Why? we're talking about 2 hour downtime for a video game. I'm unsure as to why this is a major concern, given so many other more serious things. Perhaps watch a movie or go bowling?

This has been an problem since at least issue three. Fixes have been promised. Still nada. I think I have the right to call them on it now.

    Forgive me for offending you.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Although I agree with the sentiment, I disagree with the severity. I'm sure you'll get over it by this afternoon or tomorrow

Just because we've done some TFs in the past doesn't revoke my license to disagree with you, if perhaps somewhat severely. Just color me tired of reading the several posts before yours that make mountains out of (what I consider) molehills. But yes, perhaps I came down on you a bit harshly, so apologies.

Starting at 2:00 PM CST - 4:00 PAM CST on Wednesday 7/1 all US and testing shards for City of Heroes will be brought down for maintenance and publish.

We expect the downtime to last 2 hours but please allow for early release or an extension as necessary. Always check the Server Status page for complete details.

[/ QUOTE ] and Publish wonder what the publish is?? Science Booster pack maybe???? Hope Hope!!

It's a stability patch as announced here. That Booster stuff's already in the game, just waiting for some tweaks and/ or the NCStore to support its sale.
  20. Niviene, any after party this year? I'll be happy either way, just want to get some planning arranged.
  21. To be fair, even if you're local, if you didn't purchase a pass months ago, you'd be hosed anyhow. Comic Con has been sold out for at least the past month or two It's a national event, so hundreds of thousands of passes have already been purchased. It's at capacity, and there are no tickets at the door. Passes are also non-transferable, so no scalped passes either.

However, the same codes given out at previous events have been made available through various CoX contests by some of the third party sites. There's still chances to get them even if you cannot get into Comic Con.
