Yes, especially since on Traps Time Bomb is Tier 9 for Corrs and Defs, whereas Blasters get off easy by having it as a Tier 8, making it more skippable. In either case, I'd rather not have a power that was easy to skip
-
I was reading another thread recently and was reminded of the Cottage Rule, but before you pass judgment on my cottage, hear me out
Time Bomb is one of the most discussed powers for Blasters, due to its unwieldiness. A character places it like a Trip Mine, but it goes off after 15 seconds regardless of enemy proximity. This makes it difficult to use. A character either has to place it at a point and lure enemies to it before it detonates, or has to use a stealth power in order to place it in a group and fall back to range before it detonates.
In my opinion, it would be better to replace this power with a similar power I call the Satchel Charge. It is identical in every way to Time Bomb, but instead of being a placed PBAOE pet, it is a targeted PBAOE pet, similar to Rain of Arrows or Omega Maneuver.
The power would work like this: the character targets the drop point and uses the power, using a range limit similar to Omega Maneuver. The character then pulls out a satchel (animators could use the duffel bag for Mercenary MM upgrades) and tosses it to the targeted spot. 15 seconds later, the satchel detonates in the same fashion as the current Time Bomb would.
This revision has two benefits:
- It would Satchel Charge be more differentiated from Trip Mine (a power that does similar damage but is easier to use for most players)
- It also makes the power itself easier to use for players who don't want to use stealth. Although Devices includes a Cloaking Device, that power itself isn't enough to provide full stealth necessary to place a Time Bomb without being seen and attacked; Satchel Charge would avoid this problem altogether.

Yes, they will stack, but at a certain point you will hit the hard cap for certain attributes and additional benefits will not bee seen past a certain point. This is probably what you're seeing.

This suggestion reminds me of when the devs tried to change powers in the Epic and Patron pools...

Ah yes, Protector, the Formidable Opponent Server
And I mean that with all sincerity!

Here is the sad part about racing to the bottom:
A poster will always receive more positive rep than negative. For example, when I get neg repped, it typically deducts 3 points from my rep. However, if I get positive repped, it usually increases my rep by 6-12 points, depending on who reps me.
Therefore, being infamous like Sun_Splitter takes a lot of work. Either you have to be a complete jerk (in which case you'll probably earn a temp/ permanent ban before you ever see multiple red bubbles), or it has to be done "artificially", as is the case with Sun_Splitter. Triumph's put in a lot of neg rep to get Sun_splitter's rep to where to it is today.
So I'm not saying it can't be done, but a dedicated daily following is probably necessary to do so. -

Thanks for the great blueside run tonight all! In all, we had four successful runs for all 6 badges on several toons!
Because I have an evening class on Thur., I plan to revisit this event red-side on Fri. night at the earliest. Anyone looking for badges for their evil sides can join us then at the same time, 7PM PST (10PM EST). -

Quote:The pic was not captured in that condition; it was obviously put through a filter in a photo editing software to stylize it to look like a color pencil sketch. IOW, it was made that way on purpose. Take it or leave itI actually think BABs was joking, and in regards to the bizarre shading and the aggressive gamma on that pick, combined with some bottom-of-the-barrel graphics settings and a REALLY crappy jpg quality. Seriously, that pic is scary.

I understand this, but it's a suggestion, not a discussion.

Excellent, all. I need banner badges on at least 3-4 heroes and 2-3 villains, but I'll go for multiple runs if we have the man/womanpower.

Sun_Splitter will RP in your Arena duel, and PvP you in the Paragon University. He is just that evil.

First off, I recommend keeping most of the items that were in both the CoH and CoV fansite kits. However, I recommend adding the following:
- AT icons for Soldiers of Arachnos
- Adding SoA sounds to the AT-specific sound clips
- Pictures of the main characters from Going Rogue, akin to those shown at this year's Hero Con
- Box Art from the "Good vs Evil", "Mac Edition", and "Architect Edition" boxes
- Updated logos (for Paragon Studios specifically)
- Updated wallpapers with previous Issue releases and Going Rogue
- Updated IM/ forum avatars - not only signature characters, but ATs & Origins
- Updated banners (if any)
- Remove any Cryptic Studios logos (my opinion)
Edit: Also, having graphics for the various holiday events would be cool too. -

Anybody have some characters that still need some of the banner badges before this year's Halloween event is over?
I know that many heroes and villains will be finishing up this event over the weekend, but I would rather have a buffer. In that vein, I'm looking to see if anyone is interested on hunting some banners on Wed., Nov. 4th, at about 7pm PST (10pm EST).
Admittedly, my reasons are completely selfish, because I still have toons that need the badges, and so does RellaFrosty tried to hunt some banners with us tonight, but with less than one full team at it, we just didn't have enough damage or debuff to take down a banner before the timer expired.
So if you're up for some banner action before the deadline, post here or keep your ears to triumph Watch tomorrow evening -
Quote:In that context, everything is bad with Stone armor.I'm just wondering because I have a lvl 35 BA/SA and it well...sucks...and I HATE the recharge with Granite....so should I pick a different secondary or just leave stone alone?
However, the problem is Granite, especially if you don't use it as a situational power. There's nothing wrong with that, but like any power taken out of its original context, you'll have to plan around that.
If you wish to use Granite a lot, you'll want to invest in IO sets that increase your Recharge, use Hasten, use Recharge enhancements in attacks, or a combination of all. The same can be said for Recovery/ Endurance Reduction, and possibly Run Speed (both using the Fitness pool), depending on your playstyle, your Influence savings, etc.
That being said, Granite is designed to be used as a situational power. I have a combination of the above recommendations and personally, I only use GA on large teams and/or fighting AVs. Most of the time, Rock Armor, Stone Skin, and Rooted usually get the job done for me. IO sets can also increase global resists and defense bonuses.
But at the end of the day, it may just depend on your playstyle and how much you want to invest into the character. -
Late to the reply, but did you want to look at the PR base for filming purposes?

Quote:I can only agree because there was no press around Hero-Con's events, and therefore no buzz on which to follow up. That and the first waves of closed beta will be, well, closed to only vets and loyalists. The project is still off in the misty future.
Not updating the page RITE NAO!!11 has zero impact on "the public".
They could update it tomorrow, they could update it a month from now...it isn't a tremendously time-sensitive undertaking.
No, not those Loyalists -
Very well-written first post
But ultimately, this is a known issue.

Off-topic: Yeah, not so sure that remark was warranted. One spat on one thread does not a jerk make.
