Quote:Which wiki? The current wiki is at: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/.Is there an updated merit guide for Ouro arcs anywhere..... The Wiki is not up to date. I seem to remember the Devs giving us something but I think that was before the FOrum upgrade..... Or my Search-Fu is weak...

Quote:My biggest problem testing I13 was the lack of bridging between PvE and PvP. I was a fan of making PvP more casual, but the new system all but gutted holds and stuns. I was surprised when holds barely had any affect. The devs changed it to be 4 seconds... and that's about it. Heck, I could take everything else if it hadn't been for holds. As it was wholesale, most of the changes where for the concession of the PvE crowd, with very little concession to the PvP crowd. That's not so much of a bridge as it is the "occupation of Poland" (not to use Godwin's Law).During the I13 beta, many players who never PvP'd took a look at the changes, decided they liked them, and without ever going to test the changes, began deriding the existing PvPers who called it like it was. When those PvPers suggested the same changes apply to PvE because it was too easy, those same PvEers threw an absolute fit. Surprise, surprise.
I'll support anything that blends the two together within certain constraints. Hell, it worked fine for DAoC. For example, I understand travel suppression, as loathe as it is, to balance SS and SJ with things like Fly. OTOH, the aforementioned pitiful Hold durations, Heal Decay, and other PvP-only systems need some serious reconsideration. Right now the system's not so much Rock-Paper-Scissors as much as it is Rock-Bigger Rock. -

Quote:Rhetoric? Hyperbole? I'm not sure if this post is serious or sarcastic.no. That's not an amazing idea. That's a I'd like to see City of Heroes crash and burn faster than Tabula Rasa idea.
Seriously. did Tabula Rasa or Star Wars NGE not teach anybody just how much of a bad idea it is to change the base gameplay on a large scale?
It's an extreme loss for over over an estimated 99% of the paying base... WHICH DOES NOT PARTAKE IN PVP PLAY AT ALL.
Perhaps it's time for a PvPvE crossgrade -
Quote:Hell if I know. Sounds like a bug to meWhy do you have access to teleporting to Oro if you aren't using travel powers?
(I suspect it's a consolation since you may not be able to call the contact like one could if they ran the non-flashback version of the arc) -
What would be the point of having the "No Travel Powers" challenge if Ouroboros went to more hero zones?
Also, welcome to last month with this topic. -
Thanks all
It's been almost a decade since I've drawn regularly. Most of my stuff is line art, but I've been getting the hang of using layering in GIMP to retrace and color line art. I have some of my Obsidius drawings up on my Deviantart page, but I have a whole binder full of stuff from high school to present. Just trying to pick up the pencil again.. and the mouse too

Excellent. Now time for some careful panning and budgeting...

Man, I really need to pull down my arc and re-tool it from the ground up
Congrats FemFury -
So glad I only have to shop for my nieces and nephews this year.
On topic, haven't heard anything re: the NCStore for Black Friday. Perhaps they'll be doing something for Cyber Monday instead? -
Why am I suddenly reminded of this fantastic scene?
-
Only taken it on a couple of characters, including Obs and another. Mostly use it for low-level CoT missions and Halloween (it's nice axing those Spirits before they run off). Otherwise, it's almost always SoM.

Not going to lie; wasn't impressed, unfortunately. Just my opinion.

I was going to say something about creativity or the use of a thesaurus, but it's jsut easier to say "no, we're out of names."

Quote:Sorry Bill, meant to say the game itself, not the population. No cutbacks, server merging, free-to-play migration, or the like. I know many are waiting for GR to start being more active, including I, but the game and servers are still unwavering, to say that nothing is changing except the upcoming expansion.I think "no signs of waning" is a bit overstated. For several months now, I've not seen Pinnacle's pop hit 1000. That's considering both sides. Granted, I have no idea what percentage of players run around hidden from searches like I always do.
But I do know it's been damn quiet in every zone. All the time.
I would hate to be a new player right now.
EDIT: Just logged in. 89 matches found blueside. 2 to 1 ratio has been mostly true forever. That means ~45 redside.
6PM on a night before many are off for 5 days. And Pinn's got less than 150 players not hidden.
Edit: Now, if server activity doesn't pick up after GR launches, then I might have cause for concern. -
Although not marketing another product, I think this post can be construed as an appeal to fear, through using fear, uncertainty, and doubt to have players second-guess a game that shows no signs of waning. In fact, with the expansion coming out early next year, it appears to be the contrary.

And I thought the stories about Pocket D on Virtue were bad enough...
ZING! -
Love my Crab legs.
OTOH, I think the secondary build on my Crab will be a Huntsman, legs be damned! -
Obsidius is a P&P character, originally. My friends and I liked to play V:TM when we were in the military, when we weren't on an exercise or at the club. My character was a Gangrel by the name of Johnny Blake (I'm finally rolling him in GR). But when we started a V:TDA campaign when we were in Okinawa, I needed a new character. Instead of doing a traditional vampire, I decided to roll a giant black gargoyle instead, and Obsidius was created.
Years later, after I left the military, when I started playing CoH I needed a character concept and, as they say, the rest is history. -
